Undercover Video: University Political Officials shut down Gulag Memorial
by James O'KeefeTo commemorate the 20th anniversary of the collapse of the Berlin Wall, a group of students at Washington University in St. Louis chose to stand up to the tyranny of socialism and bring awareness to its consequences.
The students erected a Soviet gulag on the quad of the University to vividly display the ultimate “solution” to dissidence in socialist societies sparking campus intrigue, discussion, and debate. Although an officer initially arrived on the scene and found everything was peaceful, undercover video reveals smarmy Washington University administrators continuing to press and make excuses to shut the fake-Gulag down.It took the bureaucracy hours to find an obscure policy to use against the students.
The group responsible has plans to make more gulag demonstrations on campuses around the country.

I attended law school at WUSL, and it has often flirted with left-wing disgrace since the hippies took the place over in 1960s protests. After I left, I recall generally that the law school faculty voted to forgive student debt if you went into public service. Unless that meant the JAG Corps, of course. That's military. And this wasn't because you might end up defending terrorists, either. Under pressure, excuses were made and a re-vote held adn the policy changed. But no money from me has flowed since.

Wow! I am impressed. We have finally seen some brilliance come out of the Universities. My guess there will be more we will hear about this. My prediction, the students will apply for all the permission they need for their art installation and it will be denied. Then the fun begins! It will be interesting to see where this goes, because it may end up in the court system. Lol! OMG! I am so giddy. When the youth are figuring this out, there is no chance in hell that this Progressive Movement will win. When students figure out there is a movement they can be a part of, they will go for it! Bring it on kiddos! It is your money of the future this Progressive Movement has stolen, take them on!

And yet when people hold huge, outrageous protests call Bush a war criminal that is just an exercise in free expression. I'm glad to see young men and women giving those aging hippies a bit of their own medicine.

I am a WUSTL '65 graduate. I saw the actions (and school administration non-action) in the 60's as well. I see that little has changed in the administration view of things that challenge their opinions. Very disappointing. A good opportunity to really educate today's youth about the realities of communism and the Soviet system.

I have been thinking about this all morning and am wondering if they should have behaved more leftish? Maybe be hauled away and put in jail. I am not sure how I feel about this but would like to hear some opinions on it. It may have gained more attention if they had ended with being hauled away. I am very excited about this and think that the students should consider taking this to a teaparty event, as a matter of fact I think it should be a traveling Art Show. Take it to Washington on the Mall!

IMHO, some young adults will attach themselves to a movement for the sake of a cause. They will not necessarily think about the consequences of what they are involved with and in time see the consequences of the movement down the road. I think a lot of us boomers look back and wonder how we got caught up in movements of the sixties and see what we have reaped because of it. There was a need for Civil Rights to move forward, to question 'the man', etc., but these movements were co-opted by the Socialists or more likely the youth were used for their purposes. Do I think most of the youth during the 60's are socialists today? No! Statistics show our country is still center right, even after the indoctrination of that time period. I cling to the hope that there is something inherently deep in our core as American's that cannot be completely stomped out of us and that is the pursuit of happiness and the intrinsic need for liberty!
If students continue to bring thought provoking demonstrations such as this, they will cause a great movement among the silent majority on these campuses. I feel it in my bones!

Washington University's administration has been under the thumb of a small cadre of hardcore communists since the 1950s. Pat Buchanan investigated the communist influence at Wash U as an editor at the Globe-Democrat in the 1960s.
By their cowardice, the administration has turned a fine university into disgraceful, anti-American nest for the next generation of collectivist thugs.

From the way they were treated by the school "officials" it looks to me like those kids proved their point. These kids have my support. I am passing their website along to my college age nieces and nephews.

Ya know . . .this is a really great way to exposing the degree to which marxist/socialist (and truly anti-American) values and ideals have practically taken control of most of the universities in the US.
I've noticed that there is constant coverage/exposure of evils of Nazism on cable TV every day. What's interesting is that there is nothing exposing the evils of communism. The Communists and the Nazis despised each other and essentially charged the other with evil intentions.
In reality, both Nazism (Nation Socialist German Workers Party) and communism are, in practice, the same. What really is the difference between a Hitler and a Stalin or Mao? Nothing. Mao & Stalin are no less dictators than Hitler was. And, the results of both systems are the same as well: terror, poverty, misery, loss of personal freedom and hopelessness.
Quite frankly, neo-Nazism in the US is a very tiny insignificant group of extremists that 99,5% of the population dismisses as idiots. Communist/marxist infiltration, inside the US, is massive and promoted throughout our society.
We don't need movies/documentaries touting the evils of Nazism. Everyone already knows it's evil. Time for documentaries & movies reminding us, visually, of the similar horrors caused by Eastern European and Chinese communism. Combined, 2 men (Mao & Stalin) managed to slaughter mercilessly over 100 million human beings — their own citizens.
When Nazism & Communism were competing against each other for the hearts & minds of the people, they each attacked the other. They weren't attacking Western Democratic forms of govt (the US, GB, France, etc). Nope they were attacking each other even though they were so very similar. Perhaps that's why today, we are reminded constantly about the evils of Nazism yet hear/see nothing about the evils of communism. The communists/marxists among us are just doing the SAME thing they did back in the 20s, 30s and 40s.
Our nation, and the world, needs to be reminded, ad nauseum, of the evils of communism/marxism which is the REAL threat we still face today. For all intents and purposes, Nazism is dead. It poses no threat to the world nor to the US. Nazism IS over, thank God! But communism/marxism/radical socialism remains with us and grows increasing strong on OUR soil. THAT must end.
Correction: Actually, I take that back. Nazism actually does exist but in the form of Islamo-fascism today. <sigh>
Perhaps it's time to make the connection between Nazism and global radical Islamo-fascism which does severely threaten the US and the world today. Yes, we do need to be careful. All muslims are not Islamo-fascist jihadists but unfortunately millions are . . .and millions (even hundreds of millions around the world) is more than sufficient to pose a real and extremely grave danger to the world. . .and it simply must be stopped. We really have no other choice now — we MUST fight until we defeat global network of extremely committed and evil Islamo-fascists.
At the same time, communism/marxism is no less dangerous — and pervasive throughout the world — and MUST also be exposed as the evil ideology it IS.

I wish they would do an installation of something the administration agrees with and see if the admin will use the same methods to shut them down. Time how long it takes to get shooed away. It would be more effective to have had the admin-reflected installation before the other, but they should try to make the point anyway.
