This story is amazing in many ways and while I am happy to see BigGovernment.com hit the scene with such a forceful presentation, I cannot help but be saddened by the subject matter. I suspect that many fellow conservatives agree, so I thought I would point out one bit of good news that has come of this whole ACORN mega-story…a silver lining, if you will.

In this series of incredible revelations, we have at least discovered one business that gigantic leftist "community organization" groups can and will support: Child prostitution.

Hanna stated on the Glenn Beck interview they worked on this for 6 weeks. There has to be more, as James poorly indicated/bad acting, more like sarcasm in the Hannity interview. Is it too much to hope that there's a Chicago edition? If so, I hope you save it for last, considering the President (by ACORN's own admission) was "an unpaid guest speaker" at a couple of ACORN training seminars. In the racially charged society we live in today, primarily created by the left/right paradigm. I can't help wondering if those ACORN workers would have been so accommodating, if the film makers would have mentioned bringing in children from an African country, such as Somalia or Zambia. While the blacks in this country make so many whites feel guilty for what had occurred during the days of slavery. Here we have ACORN workers condoning the worst kind of degrading slavery. Child prostitution! The fact that they were Latino children and not of African descent, did not seem to sway their scruples or conviction. Where does this kind of corruption and immorality stem from? We should take a closer look at the top of the food chain at the same people who created and manage this left/right paradigm. Most of us forgot or are not even aware of Cathy O'Brien, again, because of those who control the media, from the top on down. But for me, her story is burned into my memory. A child, damaged for life by those who live above the law, as well as control the outcome of it. Is this the kind of legacy you are going to leave for your children in this country?

When you have immoral, corrupt workers at this level of government, and make no distinctions, ACORN was made part of the government by Mr. Obama. You have to wonder what goes on at the top level of the government.

I applaud the work of Mr. O'Keefe and Hannah, for bringing this matter to our attention. But, I'm still of the strong opinion, that crap flows down stream, and would feel more appreciative if they focused their efforts and attention at the beginning of the stream. It may be true that this undercover op was tried in cities where it didn't "work" in the sense that it did in the three videos we've seen, but that doesn't change the facts. One incident you can dismiss as a fluke. Two is suspicious. But with three, there's no doubt that there's a systemic ethical problem in ACORN, not just a few rogue employees. There may not be anything written down in an ACORN employee manual that says "teach hookers how to lie in order to cheat the tax system and get housing," but clearly they prioritize finding housing for anyone who walks in off the street over basic moral distinctions like, oh say, UPHOLDING THE LAW and PROTECTING CHILDREN. When such basic principles are ignored for the sake of a mission statement, you have turned the corner to fanaticism. ACORN should receive NO more money from taxpayers and be given no government contracts of any kind.

As someone with a master's in Journalism, I'm proud that these two are keeping it alive. I thought Journalism had died last year but it looks like it has risen from the ashes once again like a Phoenix.

I got up an 4:30am and the first thing I did was to check this website. I wasn't disappointed. There are 2 things in this video that really stand out. 1. ACORN employees are instructing how to actually launder money (i.e. give the money to a friend and then have the friend give the money back to you). 2. I am quoting one of the office workers and it sums up ACORN housing office's philosophy — "Honesty is not going to get you the house".

The first two (DC and Baltimore) seemed to have been done in July. The NYC video was done on August 4 (the actual office visit). In fact at the beginning of the NYC video James mentions that before the first 2 videos were shown, the names of the 3 NYC office workers appeared on their website. After the first 2 videos were shown their names magically disappeared from the list.

I just checked it out at acorn.org, and yes all the pages are blank.

I whole heartedly support what these two innovative people are doing to expose the abuse of our system by ACORN. That being said, I also very concerned for them personally. The first video they released was filmed in Maryland where it is illegal to record people without their permission. (Remember Linda Tripp) I'm worried they will face prosecution from the state of Maryland and could face numerous fines, penalties, and possible jail time for conducting their investigation. Also, the people who were fired could potentially sue James and Hannah for illegally recording them and defamation of character. They may need to start a legal defense fund to fight this.

I know this isn't lost on everyone and I didn't read every comment, but will somebody please acknowledge the seriousness of these taps? How can our government be supporting and our tax dollars be going to this organization without consequence? Why has no one from either party commented on this? An idea for your next campaign: Student loans. There's as much lying and cheating on those applications as in housing. Advisors tell applicants how to hide assets, lie about where they live, keep from having their parents' income included, etc.

Baltimore, MD – September 11, 2009 – We have received inquiries from citizens and the media asking whether the Baltimore City State’s Attorneys Office would initiate a criminal investigation for acts allegedly committed at ACORN offices located in Baltimore. The only information received in reference to this alleged criminal behavior was a YouTube video. Upon review by this office, the video appears to be incomplete. In addition, the audio portion could possibly have been obtained in violation of Maryland Law, Annotated Code of Maryland Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article §10-402, which requires two party consent.

What is going on in America??? We can be videotaped by government, law enforcement, etc., but let American citizens do the same to expose criminals, it is illegal? WTF?

I've been trying to figure out how, just, calling a persons State Rep. is going to do any good when the house and senate are ruled with a majority rule Democrats and any bill that might be voted on are full of bills that are hidden in the main bill.

The claim by ACORN this was tried multiple times and failed is bogus and for the following reason.

If in fact as ACORN claims multiple attempts to "entrap" ACORN employees were made elsewhere and failed, there would have been an alert sent to EVERY ACORN OFFICE IMMEDIATELY warning them of the attempts. This could have been done in 5 minutes via email. And if they FAILED to notify the other offices then that simply confirms their entire organization collectively is as dumb as a box of hammers. (with apologies to hammers everywhere)

I get what you're saying, and I think you're right. Does ACORN have to push forward for charges or can they be filed independently of what ACORN wants? I do think any investigation would spill over and expose more wrongdoings on ACORN's part, though the state attorney's office may try to cover for them. Not only do I think they should both win a Pulitzer…I am wondering about their safety. I cannot believe how smart these two young people are. I was in a situation years ago where I taped a conversation and the D. A. brought me up on charges and then tried to use the tape against me in the trial. He used only a portion of it….I said ( on the witness stand ) let's just play the whole tape, shall we? I think the jury would like to hear it, I would love to hear it again. I was aquitted of ALL charges and the D.A. had not doctored the tape. I wasn't on trial for taping a conversation; but the tape was related to my case. I don't think James or Hannah have a thing to worry about except their health. I hope Fox or Beck has explained this to them.

I think it is fair to officially take the title of "News Organization" from CNN and MSNBC. There are now 3 tapes (with more to come) on this ACORN scandal, and they still don't even bring it up. No real mentions on their websites. I have to admit that I don't watch them, so someone will need to inform me of whether or not the channels have said anything, but I think it is safe to say if they aren't highlighting them on their websites, they aren't highlighting them on their stations.

Who do they think they're fooling? Do they really expect the public to believe that this isn't news? This could easily be one of the biggest stories of the year.

Hey, I'm going to chime in here. I'm a liberal democrat. I live in Brooklyn. And I think Acorn is made up of a bunch of thugs. I've witnessed this first hand in my opposition to a large real-estate development that has been dragging on for years in downtown Brooklyn. Acorn and their union cronies fill the public hearings with hard-hat thugs who shout down anyone with legitimate complaints about this boondoggle.

My son said that the employees he works with (mostly blacks) is always bragging about how they have friends working for Wal-Mart that they go through their checkout and are not charged for most of the items they have in their buggies. They also say the employees take merchandise out to the dumpsters and go back later at night and pick it up. They brag about this. Also when I worked as a screener the blacks employees were always taking about they didn't feel guilty about stealing because the white people owed them. This is very common in the south. And then you wonder why we are racist.

I was tickled by John Fund's response to ACORN's threat to sue Fox News, something to the effect that there's this thing called 'discovery' where someone who's sued gets access to the records of whomever's suing them for purposes of developing a defense. It could be VERY enlightening for Fox News to go snooping in ACORN's business records! They might even dig up enough for ACORN and it's associates (reportedly over 200 front companies) to be shut down, bankrupted and their officers imprisoned under Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statutes.
