Some call it a homophobic slur; others, an obscure sexual fetish. For the President of the United States, however, the term “tea bagger” is just another tool to marginalize opponents of his radical agenda. As John Kartch of Americans for Tax Reform reported today, President Obama is quoted in a new book using this derogatory term to describe concerned citizens that make up the mainstream, nonpartisan tea party movement:
President Barack Obama, known for his lectures to others on civility, saw fit to use the obscene and derogatory term “tea-baggers” in a book interview with author Jonathan Alter.
Below is an excerpt from Alter’s new book The Promise: President Obama, Year One, to be released May 18:
“Obama said that the unanimous House vote against the Recovery Act ‘set the tenor for the whole year’: ‘That helped to create the tea-baggers and empowered that whole wing of the Republican Party to where it now controls the agenda for the Republicans.’ For Obama this was the greatest surprise of 2009.”
This has long been the modus operandi of the far left, from the likes of actress Janeane Garofalo to the commentators on MSNBC and CNN. Yet for the President of the United States to invoke this term is simply stunning, particularly in light of the recently delivered commencement speech in which he heavily critiqued the tenor of political discourse in our age.
His disrespect of the tea party movement is also quite odd given his roots in community organizing. Apparently that line of work is only respectable if it involves advancing far left causes or aiding folks in conspiring to evade taxes while smuggling underage girls into the country for a sex ring. As regular readers know, these were the mission and downfall, respectively, of ACORN, an organization with which Mr. Obama worked closely early on in his career.
The tea party movement consists of a wide range of Americans who, according to recent polls, have a more mainstream vision for the country than the President himself. Shame on you, Mr. President, for denigrating concerned citizens you were elected to serve. Shame on you.

First of all senior citizen, I was in the Marine Corps from 1995-2003, and was honorably discharged as a SSgt. Don't try to talk tough to me when you admit you left the military 40 freaking years ago. That would put you at 60 or more. Mr. Obama said his family was off limits in the press war during his campaign but he has no problem authorizing the personal attacks on his opponents. You'll notice the right hasn't, doesn't and most likely will not attack his wife and kids nor have there been any verifiable reports of violence by any Tea Party members on anyone despite every attempt by the MSM to malign them. There simply isn't an excuse by Mr. Obama to resort to insults and calumny except to energize his base to ramp up the attacks until something newsworthy happens. The man is nefarious.

We had to have high aptitude scores to qualify for our jobs, so you'll get no apologies from me for that. There are no ex-Marines, jarhead. "Once a Marine, always a Marine!" You can't take the title away just because you disagree with someone. I obviously disagree with you, but I'll never call you an ex-Marine. You EARNED the title and NOBODY can ever take it away!! Hanging around a bunch of Marines in the barracks will certainly challenge any language sensibilities that you may have. Not only is he a Marine with honor, he was THE NUMBER ONE MARINE for a while!!!

What does "seeing action" have to do with anything? A person joins the service, does their time, and what happens, happens. There is no reason to denigrate someone's service because they didn't "see action." They still signed the dotted line and put their butts on the line while many others chose not to.

Whoever this clown is; it tells a lot about his need to brag and continually bring up his service in the Corps. As if this is something extraordinary when all he ever achieved was working in a a/c office and playing big shot. I can tell you right now his contribution to the Corps was nothing compared to the brave grunts and recon personnel who train constantly in order to keep this country safe at a moments notice. They are the real Marines. This creep was nothing more than a pencil pusher, as we use to call them. The majority went around thinking somehow they are better and deserved more than the fighting Marines. And notice how he continues to brag about having passed the exams and test with high flying colors and such. I guarantee his IQ hoovers around 118 or so; really nothing to write home about. As far as academic score, he probably had to pass the GED just to enlist. It's not all that hard to sign up for the Marine Corps – they take what they can get.
