Congress, We Don’t Trust You With Health Care At All
by John LoudonJust because you have a gun, you do not necessarily need to shoot it. Just because you have a vote in Congress does not mean you need to grab power.

While both Parties have their internal battles, Republicans who are wondering why their numbers are waning need look no farther than the current health care debate for clues. When Democrats roll out a Federal takeover of private health insurance, the Republican response should not be less of a government takeover, it should be a total federal government withdrawl from regulating private health insurance. The point is simple, although lost on many.
When we think about insurance in our lives, from life, home, auto, professional liability and health, which one is the biggest source on consternation? Guess what? Health insurance is the only one in which the federal government has significantly intruded. Even that is currently regulated at the State level. However, the many Federal government restrictions that complicate the health insurance marketplace are the primary reason competition cannot thrive.
The biggest perversion of the healthcare marketplace dates back to the forties when only businesses and not individuals were allowed a tax deduction for health insurance premiums. While we are now dependent upon our employers to provide for this need, we would never expect them to provide for our home insurance. Most of the additional federal intrusions that perverted the market came in the federal acts including ERISA, COBRA and HIPPA including the provision barring insurance purchasing across state lines.
So now that we have Democrats and Republicans tossing out a variety of federal solutions, it is only fair to acnowledge that the Republican plan under the architecture of Congressman Roy Blunt, at least leans more toward market-based solutions. It offers some creative strategies but nevertheless leaves in tact most of the previous federal intrusions. The Democrat proposal on the other hand, is a vile package of power grabs and payoffs, primarily to big labor and Senator Louisiana Landrieu. Still the leftist American oligarchy of Obama, Reid and Pelosi continues to push this menacing bill forward against plummeting poll numbers for both the bill and themselves. It seems passing any bill at all is more important than what kind of bill they pass.
As the debate rages on, it is clear that the American public does not trust the Congress, period. The army of lobbyists and special interests negotiating various carve outs, mandates and other special privileges into the 2000 page nightmare has Americans justifiably in nearly full rebellion. While both Parties argue over which bill ought to be on the table they are trying the patience of an American public that wants no bill at all.

"It seems passing any bill at all is more important than what kind of bill they pass."
The Democrats are all hurtling full-speed toward the edge of a cliff while congratulating each other that they're doing it "so thoughtfully and efficiently."
Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi will look charming when they're all decked out in tar and feathers. won't they?
Looks like the Democrats are rolling this monster through and Senate Republicans are completely impotent. Looks like our free nation is soon to be no more. Is this the beginning of the end of the greatest, most free nation on earth or the start of a coming counter-revolution? Is there really any hope of reversing what's happening in a peacefulI way? I never thought I would have the kinds of thoughts I'm having on this Saturday afternoon, but God help me, if we had some kind of leadership somewhere with the courage to call patriots to arms to defend our constitutional republic… I'm standing ready.
If we politicize health care People have to realize health care access will be granted by political favors. The politicians(our servants) are attempting to force you to buy heath insurance that they(our servants) wont accept for themselves. We will pay for their gold plated coverage and for our cheaper coverage, only a fool(Lib) would want this
GOPers need to grow a spine; for starters.
They need to go out and explain to the populace WHY this damned takeover is truly bad for everyone except those who have been paid off.
But the MSM won't give them a platform, so they need to gather on the steps of the Capital, as they did with the Contract For America and denounce ObamaCare, in unison !
Look at it this way: My wife and I both lost our jobs within a few weeks of each other. So right now, though we still have the same choices in auto and homeowners insurance as we did when we had jobs – yet we do not have anywhere near the same choices in health insurance. The sole reason: Government.
Wilson took over the railroads. Set price controls on all commodities. FDR took over large swaths of the economy. The airlines used to be gov't controlled. We reversed all that. You are wasting your energy thinking about armed revolt. Spend that effort thinking about how you can help us replace most of congress in 2010. It is time better spent.
If our rights as described in the constitution are denied to us by the elites in power what are the people to do?
They betray our trust, squander the products of our labor to further their own ends what are the people to do?
The refuse to protect the very borders of our land what are the people to do?
They ignore, in many cases abet the very real economic, military and cultural attacks of our enemies upon our people. What are the people to do?
How long can this go on? At what point do the people take notice?
These are tyrants not representatives. They rule over us as kings.
But we are not their servants, they are our servants.
What are the people to do?
Um, didn't they need to do this before now?
The GOP alone is not to blame, but we must understand that the fix it appears, is in.
It's too late for them to grown a spine, not that I believe they could.
You are right, but this is a very different world compared to the 30s. In fact a lot of what is happening now is just the finishing touches of what was started back then. The statist is very persistent, and methodical.
At what point is enough enough I ask?

Pure unabridged and adulterated insanity ! Would any of us want these insane and unstable Congressional leaders to manage anything of value as in, say, your checkbooks ? Of course NOT ! So WHY IN GOD'S NAME WOULD YOU ALLOW THEM TO MANAGE HEALTH CARE ? ? ? ? Shut these incompetent corrupt scumbags down. Good Lord….
"…It seems passing any bill at all is more important than what kind of bill they pass…"
Well there it is. Putting aside healthcare for a moment, is there anything we trust them with? Anything at all?
I would not let most of them babysit my kids or even my dogs while I take a three day weekend in the islands…
It seems as if the stuff in the book Empire of Debt is coming true, day by day. It's sad to see America crumble of its own doing, but maybe you can't fight fate. The Democrats know they will pay a heavy price in the upcoming elections, but they got the foot in the door. Your taxes are going up, quality of care is going down, and we will face high unemployment as a country.
It's important to take care of your health and your family. Get those bills paid off now while you can and make sure there is a big rainy day fund for the times to come.
when this health care welfare reform bankruptures AMERICA,who will reid and pudlosi blame?
Bush
My mind tells me you are correct, but not my heart. I do of course hope you are right, but I have no faith in the Republican party to "reverse" much of anything. Even if they gain both houses, I just can't see them adequetely undoing the damage. I see half- measures and symbolic steps.
Hell- how formidable is their fight at the moment? I usually have to do a double- take on Mitch McConnell to tell if he's awake (and that's while he's speaking.) Meek, polite, punching bag Republicans. The battle today should have looked a little more "300" and a little less "Weekend At Bernies." I want some rightious anger, I want a passionate defense of liberty, not a luke warm scolding of the cost of the bill. I want props and gimmicks and I want sweat on the brow and spittle from the mouth. But it's it always seems to be a "we'll get em next time" from our elected representatives.
It seems like all of the TALENT on the conservative/libertarian side is in talk radio or television. Maybe some of these folks SHOULD run for office!
It is time for the people who voted these liberals in to be held accountable. It is their fault my Granddaughter is stuck with over $300,000.00 of debt. I will work, I will hold my debt down, she can't she is only 10. People have got to stop complaining and Stand Up. They work for Us!!!
Stand Up and let your voice be heard
O/T Apology. Met Glenn Beck today at a book signing in Fort Myers for the "Arguments with Idiots" promotion. Very intense man and very committed. He has started to disclose his "PLAN" for the country. Loads of details coming forth. Main thrust will be personal reliance and responsibility, understanding economics, community organizing etc. These "conventions" will be held all over this great country for the next several months culminating in a grand crescendo at the Abraham Lincoln memorial in Washington D.C.
He is stirring the pot and turning up the heat. No longer will the country be led by a Democrat or a Republican leader per se… The people of this country will set the tenets and the protocols ! Very intriguing stuff if he can pull it off…. I personally think he can with verve and gusto ! GO GLENN !
Sorry to hear about your predicament. And, you're right.
Snackrabbit –
I share your frustration and your anger. I don't know what it was like under Wilson of FDR – I wasn't there. But I do have a fear of our nation slipping away from us. And I too sometimes yearn for the spittle and righteous anger. But I'm still holding out considerable hope that the American people are awake to the threat. In essence we have become a nation of softies. We fret and wring our hands over the stupidest things. Our media is comprised of ideological morons who wouldn't know a fact if it bit them. Our elite leaders have no shame. And our politicians have largely been corrupted by our lethargy.
As P.J. O'Rorke noted a while back, the Parliament of Whores is us, the voters, the citizenry which has allowed leftists and other assorted losers to take control, slowly but surely. I thought that 9/11 would wake us up. It did, but only briefly. However, Obama and his Congressional leadership seem to resuscitating the spirit of liberty quite nicely. Democrats were pounded on Nov 3 in VA and NJ. Polls show widespread disapproval of what they are doing. The anecdotal evidence is mounting. (Just a couple of days ago one of my conservative co-workers mentioned that her former Obamamaniac son now loathes the SOB.) Keep contacting your Congressman, keep informed, do what you can And keep the powder dry!
Chin up. We're right – we'll win eventually.
ChrisInToronto, thanks for your kind reply. My family and I will be fine, we saw to that when we were working. We 'put away for a rainy day' (never really thinking it would ever happen though…
) and are now more than glad we followed our parents advice, and have found adequate health insurance that protects us from catastrophic costs, though we pay more for the care we receive. We're not complaining – we consider ourselves lucky. If all we had was the government to fall back on, we'd be in real trouble.
Good to hear. Beck is a true patriot and we need national organization- I'm going to have to find my local 912 project…
We'll only win at such time as moral and honest men stand up and do the right thing.
I see very very few of them out there.
I don't trust Congress at all.
hereby propose the following as the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution.
1. No citizen of the United States shall be elected to the House of Representatives to more than four (4) consecutive, two (2) year terms to office.
2. No citizen of the United States shall be elected to the United States Senate for more than two (2) consecutive, six (6) year terms of office.
3. No citizen of the United States shall receive any retirement benefits from serving in either the United States House of Representatives or the United States Senate.
4. Congress shall not exempt itself from any laws of the United States of America, in whole or in part.
5. Congress shall be in session for a period of not less than 90 consecutive days in the Spring, and 90 consecutive days in the Summer of each year. Each sitting of Congress may be extended by the President for a period not to exceed 30 days. The Spring session shall start on the first Monday of March. The Summer session shall begin on the first Monday in June. An additional 45 day session to begin on the 2nd Monday of November shall be called by the President if so deemed necessary, this session may not be extended unless a period of National Emergency is formally declared by the President.
This should begin in part to eliminate, or at least reduce the professional politicians who have inhabited Washington, DC for the past 170 years. Many of those men and women have on the whole, been honest, but when you begin to have individuals holding office for decades and who have built up a "fiefdom" that isn't really answerable to the people. Additionally, Congress has made it virtually impossible to unseat an incumbent, as they are able though corrupt practices to build up a huge election "war-chest" of funds.
I have been doing that, as have many.
Seems to not be working. They mock us from their positions of power, or just ignore us.
And they go on to destroy our economy, our jobs and our lives. They are enslaving us and our children. They ignore the constitution that so many have died to defend. They ignore it and decree "we will just do whatever we think is best". This is wrong and should scare every one of us:
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/57024
“Is there any specific area of the Constitution that would give Congress the authority to be able to mandate individuals to have to purchase health insurance?”
Senator Akaka: “Not in particular with health insurance. It’s not covered in that respect. But in ways to help citizens in our country to live a good life, let me say it that way, is what we’re trying to do, and in this case, we’re trying to help them with their health.”
You hear that citizen? This elitist says screw the constitution, it doesn't matter because they think this is the right thing to do. These are the words of a tyrant.
Hitler thought he was doing his best ' in ways to help citizens in our country to live a good life'.
The controls in the constitution are there for a reason and these men don't want to be bothered with that?
This is no longer business as usual.
I say again what are the people to do?
I have been doing that, as have many.

Fire them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One big difference from the 30s is that at that time people still believed that the Soviet Union worked. We now know better. I just hope the Republicans are smart enough to ally with the tea party people. Watching Charlie Crist suggests they have a way to go.
Exactly. Nothing else needs to be said.
At least give credit, when credit is due; the GOPers are making the Dems OWN ObamaCare and that's a good thing.
Right. Let the insurance companies do it.
Damn Straight!
WE, no longer trust CON-gress to do anything right.
It's 8:30 Eastern, and the b*st*rds just pushed the alleged health care legislation through for debate.____I've never seen such a scurrilous, little pencil-necked geek sonofabitch as that Harry Reid. If we put the Republicans back in and they screw us over one more time, I'm gonna blow a damned gasket.
Congress thinks we will forget what they are doing an forget there lies, i will never forget or forgive them for it.
You've got to wonder how much enthusiasm the GOP thinks it's going to get by answering calls to lynch us, with a stirring response of "No! Too drastic! We demand slow acting poison instead!"
asstounding.
Aren't we "them"? That's my point (and hope). This still is, I think, a great nation, and one that values liberty. If I am wrong, I will be devastated, especially for my daughter. But for the first time Americans are confronted not just with the rhetoric of the left, but with the reality of its policies. It is one thing to be asked to recycle for Mother Earth, quite another to support cap and trade. Likewise, it is one thing to feel sorry for the uninsured, quite another to support Obamacare. If it passes, or something like it, repeal it. I think the Democrats are walking off a cliff. They may do it, but it will cost them. That's when we'll need the moral and honest men to stand up. Unlike you, I do see them, and some of them are already in DC, some are at the state level, some are preparing to run next year. Many millions more are eager to vote against the numbskulls in power.
But you are right – they don't fight fair. The answer is to fight back, like Andrew Breitbart, Powerline, Hugh Hewitt, etc. What else is there to do?
We need you—to use your head not your heart!
First things first-you cnnot ADD 10 or is it 40 MILLION people to the current healthcare industry without seeing a waiting line! Secondly, if you take the “equation of the free market,” out of the healthcare industry(this horrible mandated farce of a health insurance bill), you will have set in motion what are referred to as “endentured servants.” These endentured servants won’t be the least bit happy -getting NO WAGE increases and required to work weekends, holidays as well. Graduate high school students will NOT enter a field of work where they can’t make a decent living. The governments answer-throw 20 grand at them(like they do now to join the armed services). Still won’t work-people that realkly don’t want to work in this field will be-it’s referred to as SUBSTANDARD CARE! Lastly-there is ONE thing those of us all can do. And, that is “passive resistance.” They don’t have enough jail beds to incarcerate everyone. Another word forpassive resistance ANARCHY!
Those are great ideas. You should consider running on that platform. Professional politicians have been destroying the system.
There is really nothing the Repubs can do. They don't have the votes.
We need to elect some right wing ideologues into office. These are the type of people don't care if they are in office for 1 term or 20. They will do the right thing regardless. The Left has a whole bunch of these types albeit they are voting for evil. This, in part is why they have won recently. They sent up a hard core Marxist who disguised himself as a "Moderate" (few Conservatives were taken in on this) and the right sent up a mushy middle mush mush character that tried to be Democrat-lite.
A revolution can only be won by those willing to sacrifice more than their opponents. This was the basis for formation of our country and freedom for it's CITIZENS.
You can tell from Lincoln's statement where she said that she could not vote yes on the bill as it is now worded. This is lawyer bs talk. She will vote for the final bill. Folks, we have to rise up and take our government back from these pigs. They are thinking only of themselves and their agenda of getting re-elected. We all need to contribute money to their opponents and work towards getting them out of Congress. You can't complain if you are not willing to get off of your butts and do something.
John Loudon has it exactly right. We've been fighting the wrong fight all along. We have no business offering "better" legislation. Washington has no business offering ANY healthcare legislation. IT'S NONE OF THEIR DAMN BUSINESS what we do with out bodies!
More than that, get out there, find the candidate that doesn't want to give you a damn thing, and will work to give you less, less regulations, less taxes, less Govt, and spend time telling others about them!
Work hard to shoot the RINO's down in the primaries, and elect candidates who will give us LESS!!!
That's why we need to grow the Tea Party movement! For all you Tea Partiers, Check out my website at http://www.eyeconshirts.com. The website is less than a week old. Let me know what you think of it.
"He who lives on hope will die fasting" – Benjamin Franklin
Mike – If you live in FLA, then check out Marco Rubio if you haven't already. If we residents of FLA can take Charlie down, the blowback will be like a shockwave all over the country.
I went to the book signing in Tampa yesterday. The line was out the door, through the parking lot and over a block down the street. Even before Glenn arrived, his advance team was telling the people lined up on the street that Glenn would not have time to get to them because of his next stop – The rally at The Villages. So, I got back in my car and drove out to The Villages.
I could not believe my eyes. Even knowing how popular he is, the amount of people in that little burg in central Florida brought tears to my eyes. It was overwhelming.
The rally was truly awesome. Glenn pulled off this "little pep rally" employing all of the tools he has perfected over the years – humor, outrage and gut emotion. The crowd was appropriately conservative. However I noticed one interloper – a man wearing an "elect Obama" T-shirt.
Needless to say, I never got my book signed. Nor did I get to meet him. But after the rally, I could not say that it was a wasted day, nor could I say I was disappointed. I was and remain filled with hope that we the people can make a difference. I'll be in DC next August for sure!
"While both Parties argue over which bill ought to be on the table they are trying the patience of an American public that wants no bill at all."
Hmmmm…….can you say understatement of the year! Our patience has been been tried and tried and tried. They tried our patience taking prayer out of the schools. They try our patience with same-sex marriage. They try our patience reading the "King and the King" to our 2nd graders. They tried our patience with the amnesty bill, and although we won that one then, it will be back and very soon.
I'm here to tell you my patience battery is dead. I'm pissed off now. Pissed off enough to do the hard work. Patience be damned.
Great comment. I am very glad you simply got in your car and traveled the distance to his next stop. That's what we conservatives do out of respect. I will see you in August as well at the Lincoln rally. God bless you.
Right on, brother!
6. Congress will NOT be paid while out!!! 7.Lifetime benefits shall be outlawed and they should get 'regular' jobs after their term is over!!
March on Washington AGAIN!! Only this time LOUDER so that they hear us!!! And NOT when the president is out of town! Let's surprise them this time…!!
Congress is the biggest bureaucracy of them all. If they were to actually follow the Constitution they wouldn't have to meet more than two months a year to conduct the country's business. For reasons all too human, and to justify their own bloated self importance, they feel compelled to pass legislation. They ignore the Constitution. It doesn't matter what the legislation is, they just need to pass it. They have nullified the power of the states with the 17th amendment. They have accrued to themselves perks and privileges that are not available to the average citizen. They are beyond citizenship. They are the ruling class.
The citizens input into the government is an illusion. The same clowns keep being returned to Congress: Pelosi, Rangel, Reid, McCain, and Robert Byrd, the Oldest Living Fossil In The Senate. Recent legislation only underscores that they really don't give a damn what the citizen thinks. Is it no wonder we are in the mess we are currently in?
Honestly, short of revolution, I don't know what it will take to unwind all this crap. But revolutions are dangerous things. Most seem to wind up with something worse than when you started.
Overall, I guess I am just a "bit pessimistic".
We need to withdraw the consent of the governed.
If you want a chuckle, watch last night's SNL opening skit. I feel safe in asserting 0's comedy immunity has expired. I want a bumper sticker: Obama: will you kiss me?
Keep the figurative powder dry. There will be real work to do. I have a feeling that the years of looking the other way while they use good people's money to pursue morally reprehensible ends is coming to an end. Pray hard.
This can be unwound, but we can't do it timidly or with what the left defines as 'compassion.' The only route back toward freedom runs through uncharted territory: repeal of bad laws. Also, a familiar tactic, constitutional challenge, may be useful. If a snail darter can stop the delivery of water to an entire local population, then maybe we can challenge the assumption that Congress can force every living American to buy any particular product.
These people are in full TREASON mode, the Constitution is the law of this land, we need to defend it!!!!!!!!!!!! These lawless thugs are bleaching the God given rights, guaranteed by it, right off of the pages of it!!!! In today's atmosphere the phrase "Give me Liberty or give me Death" is classified as hate speech!!!!!!!!! They are correct, they are hated, the people will only take so much!!! Maybe their goal is to cause chaos among the people, that way they can bring international troops in to quell the uprising!!!!!!!!!!! Once the smoke clears, if Liberty is lost, I for one, wouldn't care to still be standing!!!!!!!!
I believe your feelings are shared by many. The power elite find our opinions regarding freedom quaint, in a down their nose condescending sort of way. Don't hire the newly unemployed former politicians when they return from D.C. in 2011. They couldn't wash a dish without asking for a handout.
Wake Up America! It's not about the two party system any more! They are both corrupt and just expect us to take it! Fire them all! Vote them all out! They are all in it for the money and personall power and nothing less! They do not represent us, though they claim they do! stand up and fight America! They are stealing your future. Your children's future! The reason we are getting big governement and big goivernment light is because they both the same. All of them are out to line thier own pockets at our expense and the have personal power at the expense of our rights! They will stop ontheir own. We have to make them! Be civil disobienant. Call them continuously. Fax them continuously. Tie up the lines! Picket their offices. Picket their homes! Follow them around and yell at them! This is our country and they work for us! Not the other way around and they need to be forcibly told so!
Wake Up America! Run these SOB's out of office and out of our lives! Jail the corrupt SOB's! DO it NOW! Don't wait! They are stealing our rights little by little everyday and only you can stop them! We need to be CItizen soldiers for the constitution! Jion the constitutional delgation brigade! Call upon your local police, fire fighters, and those in the military that you know. They have all sworn an oath to up hold the rights and to protect the citizens of this greta nation from all enemiies foriegn and domestic. The domestic ones are trying to destory this country and make it a dictatorship. This is our country! They work for us and its time to fire them! Wake up America before they enslave your children!
Yes, let's get rid of all government intervention in health care. I know everyone here is prepared to totally finance the care of their elderly parents (and in-laws, too, perhaps). While we're at it, let's get rid of social security — you can not only pay the full ride for mom and dad's health care, but even more, perhaps a majority, of their support, too, while, of course, also paying to educate and care for your children, save for your own retirement, save for catastrophic and end of life care for yourself and spouse, etc.
Perhaps you are already doing all that? Living up to your "ideals" and not accepting a single penny of social support for your family?
Let's go back to before all the nefarious social improvements of the "progressive era" — when life spans were short, the vast majority of Americans were poor, child abandonment and often deadly (but still legal) abortion was epidemic, old age meant dependency and impoverishment, unregulated patent medicine was the only "health care" a majority had access to, mass outbreaks of food borne and infectious illness were commonplace, etc., etc.
How about this one:
1. No citizen of the United States shall again seek to substitute easy legislative decrees for their own brains and responsibilities.
While I fully understand the term limit sentiment, and agree that ANY incumbent that doesn't measure up should be voted out, I don't think we need to try and offload any more of our own intelligence and responsibility to the govt.
Doing THAT is how we got to where we are now in the first place! The attempt to have govt do our thinking and acting for us, is… Stupid. We have a long history of trying it anyway though, Prohibition, Min Wage, Unemployment Insurance, Soc Security, Medicare and now healthcontrol… they've all been attempts to prevent YOU from being stupid with your own decisions… how has that worked out for us so far?
" I know everyone here is prepared to totally finance the care of their elderly parents (and in-laws, too, perhaps)."
'I know you think you want to get off heroin, but are you really ready for withdrawls & DT's? Fuhgedaboudit… don't worry, be happy, there's nothing wrong… here, have some more….'
Enabler.
Quitting Cold Turkey wouldn't be possible, or responsible, to those who've been led to expect and depend upon their little govt fixes. But a '12-Step' plan of legislative repeal that involved the scheduled phasing out of those programs, would eventually get us off the D.C. Crack habit.
Or you could continue to lay in the gutter with that dreamy expression on your face.
Pardon me while I step over you.
Just another reason to throw them ALL out, regardless of party. Either that or get the weapons out and TAKE the country back! This is it, we're screwed! We'll have to fight like their's no tomorrow, because their IS no tomorrow, if you love freedom.
We need to Used some Stimulus Funding form the Healthcare Reform Process, to Build Smart Infrastructure Service for: Healthcare IT, Smart Grids, Broadband, and Transportation Systems. The Investment in Smart Infrastructure Services will Enabled, New Jobs Creation and Economic Recovery.
If we, properly Deployed Health Information Technology (HIT) Solutions and Training, we can Increased Productivity (i, e, medical data mining/warehousing, risks treatment, service delivery), Efficiency (i, e, medical errors, redundant and inappropriate care), and have a Costs Savings of around 20-30% of our Annual National Healthcare Expenditures ($2.4 Trillions).
The Engine of Economic Growth in this Century 21st Century is "Broadband." We can start by, Deploying a pure Packet-based, All Optical/IP, Multi-Service National Transport Network Infrastructure, using Optical Ethernet throughout this National "Network of Networks." This "Network of Networks" can then Connect All Optical Islands, Nationwide.
This "Network of Networks",in addition to New Jobs Creation and Economic Recovery, can also Serve as a Business Driver for: e-Healthcare, e-Commerce, e-Education, Transportation Systems, Energy Systems, Social Networking, Entertainment, etc.
This Investment is like the Investments that were made in the past, in Electrification of Reral Areas, and in the National Transportation Inter-State Highways, which Increased Productivity, and the GDP.

Mike, I'm sorry to say this, but NEVER lose the "stick" of violence. EVER. The behavior we see right now proves they don't care about the 2010 elections, they don't. They are sacrificing their careers to place we docile compliant people in bondage, and we are just walking through the narrowing gates to the trucks and on to slaughter. Some of the Republicans are actually acting as Judas Horses, as in we'll get 'em next time. Nope, it ain't gonna happen this time. The fact that Obama has not yet been frog marched out of our White House has vastly emboldened them.
Oh, and about those elections? Remember that Soros et al had a very successful project installing Secretary of State officials in a majority of the states. This is VERY SIGNIFICANT. That's how Al Franken stole his election. That's where we are now.
Use both. Look, they need a fast hard lesson NOW, for the same reason we jail lawbreakers and execute murderers. This "…oh, boy you just watch out now, elections are coming up!!.." is futile bullsh!t, and hasn't worked FOREVER now. Catch a clue.
I agree wholeheartedly. Rich, pack this up and email it to everyone in Congress…ESPECIALLY DeMint…
Let's see who acts like they want to board this bus…
affirmed.
Hell Yes.
May I respectfully submit just one request to you? Please don't be a douche bag. That is all.
WE have to change that…but not by just electing anyone with a (R) next to their name…
WE have to support the conservative, D or R notwithstanding. WE need to insure the person WE elect knows what the Constitution is, carries it in their pocket, and refers to it at every chance…
May I respectfully submit just one request to you? Please don't be a douche bag. That is all.
OK everyone, I'm sorry about doubling down on douche, (hey JustLurkin, who's a d-bag?) My comment was supposed to be addressed to esmense. Again, sorry. –JustLurkin
Ladies and Gentlemen, let me present the winner for the "non-sequitur" monologue of the day…
(Why do I feel this post goes to a lad in Nigeria?)
Like I want my health records online…only reason to keep them on paper is the computer can't read them without help…like the U.S. Congress
You have a government job, don't you?
Look, esmense, there isn't enough money to keep floating all this, okay? Look at all the junk you just spewed that the government is involved in…and that isn't including all the new junk the Congress is doing now…
What is going to be served with everyone in jail when they refuse or can't pay for the health-care boondoggle? When there is open revolt in the streets, who is going to do all those things you are comfortable demanding of the government? How will these wonderful things you like going to be accomplished when government officials are hanging from lampposts like Mussolini?
When that "breaking point" is reached, people will react strongly and in extreme.
I would prefer to do this by the ballot box, now ,before someone breaks down your door and drags you to the jail or the lamppost…
Nobody trusts you.
Did you ever?
You must have had quite a Saturday night, Mike. Next time it might be a good idea to wait until you are fully sober before posting.
My thoughts exactly . . . WTF is THAT all about? How does it feel to be the elephant that shit on the parade?
GKQ is a CEO in the private sector. I thought they were the ones with all the answers and solutions. No?
When that "breaking point" is reached, people will react strongly and in extreme.
I worry that this breaking point is getting closer faster as folks realize that the Justice system is AWOL. Justice will be sought by whatever means are available as soon as the impotence of present Justice is known. No good will come of this. They should start investigations to keep the peace.
I learned one thing from this post. COMPULINE INTERNATIONAL INC is a bad company.
Headquartered in Nigeria????
What, you want to deprive insurance companies of a reliable revenue stream from selling malpractice insurance.
These IDIOTS completely ignore the majority of the voters in this country and try to proceed with their insane spending, taxing and borrowing agenda even though it is wildly UNPOPULAR with voters. They are going to wake up and find themselves kicked OUT of Washington DC in 2010 and 2012! KILL THIS DAMN BILL NOW!!! THINK JOBS!!!

I would'nt trust congress in a hen house with a muzzle on .
This reminds me of another amusing quip I saw awhile ago: "The difference between sex for hire and sex for free is that the free sex costs you so much more". (ask anyone divorced)
Both of these will give us the "shaft" while someone else gets the "gold mine".
We need to step up and study the Unions. They are strong and they will be heard. They went into the white and demanded that the abortion be put into the bill, also they were promised other things, jobs, and ect…….If we want these people to step down or get out of office. Look at them, We sould be more heard and demanding like them,We need to use force like the Unions, Let them (people in congress know we mean what we say) They are buying off to keep other people off, shout them up, Because they do not want people to know what they are up tooo. Things need to happen and soon. Before it is too late. Our freedom is in danger, our rights, And our kids will have nothening…And that's what they want…If I'm wrong please let me know??????
I don't drink, but I do object to the way this country is being run into the ground. Have a problem with that? Next time, try to comment on content, not demeanor, OK? If you like the way we are losing our freedom and our money to a marxist cabal in Washington, you are part of the problem, not part of the solution. Next time, try to engage brain before using the keyboard.
Has anyone ever seen a chart or diagram estimating what the cost to an individual citizen would be under any of the proposed health care plans? To say "affordable" when you are a member of the DC elite is an entirely different number than "affordable" would be to a laid off auto worker in Detroit, Michigan. Why are they not telling us any details in advance of taking a position? And even more importantly, do they even have any idea in this great big wonderful world what those premiums and co-pays might be? That seems very suspect! I understand there will be large cuts in services, especially services to the older citizens. Big surprise! Of course the politicians' families won't be affected by this new take over plan, so why should they care? Write your Congress-person, I have. And I will continue to encourage others to do the same.
