St. Louis Protects SEIU: A DA Ignores Charges in the Gladney Beating
by John LoudonHenry Hill: You know, we always called each other good fellas. Like you said to, uh, somebody, :You’re gonna like this guy. He’s all right. He’s a good fella. He’s one of us.: You understand? We were good fellas. Wiseguys. See, it’s the highest honor they can give you. It means you belong to a family and crew. It means that nobody can f#@% around with you. It also means you could f#@% around with anybody just as long as they aren’t also a member. It’s like a license to steal. It’s a license to do ANYTHING. As far as Jimmy was concerned with Tommy being made, it was like we were all being made.
Many in America have been surprised by the magnitude of the Tea Party uprising, but perhaps none more so than Barack Obama. As people are inclined to do when threatened or under pressure, the President fell back on what he learned cutting his teeth in Chicago politics; brute force.

Recall the summer of 2009. Traditional values-loving Americans, all over the country were so shocked by the bailouts, cap and trade and other big government expansion programs that they took to the streets in numbers never seen before. Liberals were shocked that the political right had figured out the playbook of the political left. As the Congressional Summer recess got underway, leftist politicians found their town hall meetings packed to the rafters with angry people asking tough questions. As the bloggers streamed the footage and America got a nearly daily dose of another Democrat politician getting hammered, it became clear that the left was unprepared.
Protesters were disparaged as “tea baggers” and Astroturf, but name-calling is not what they do in Chicago. It might be over the top to say the President himself ordered the hit, but what about his people? What he said of the conservative protestors is “If they are going to hit us, we will hit them back twice as hard “. Within two days, a black man distributing patriotic flags and buttons, found himself struggling under a tremendous beating from as many as four separate assailants. The Service Employees International Union members got the President’s message. The SEIU members sporting their purple people beater shirts picked their first victim. Perhaps most disturbing, the attack began with a black union member coming unglued on a black man who did not share his leftist political beliefs all the while calling him a “nigger”. Is this a hate crime?
It has been three months now, so what happened to the thugs? Nothing. Local Prosecutors appear to have taken a pass. The St. Louis County Prosecutor is Bob McCullough. The police report details a gang-style assault, resisting arrest, the arrest of a journalist for the major daily, the Post-Dispatch and the Prosecutor is claiming something between ignorance and lack of jurisdiction in the case. So who has jurisdiction for such crimes?
In St. Louis County, an area holding the curious distinction of 92 separate municipalities within the boundaries, municipal prosecutors handle the traffic tickets, ordinance violations, and other minor offenses. If the crime is committed in the County, but outside of any municipal boundaries, then police will usually hand the job to the County Counselor to be sure justice is done rather than hand it off to the County Prosecutor. It appears that Prosecutor McCullough believes County Counselor Patricia Reddington should be handling the case. One can wonder whether the police tried to give it to McCullough or if they took it directly to Reddington. In any case, those who gang assaulted Ken Gladney walk the streets. Why?
When the SEIU members went to the town hall meeting hosted by Democrat Congressman Russ Carnahan, did they have a fight on their minds? Were they spurred on by The President’s words or the HCAN national Field Advisor Margarida Jorge’s talking points? Did the favorite White House guest, Andy Stern promise the POTUS that the situation would be dealt with, as a way to curry favor with the King? We may never know if there was a specific instruction given, but we do know that four adults from the same gang decided simultaneously to mingle with the protestors and then single one out for a beating. We also know that the union has hired for them, Paul D’Agrosa one of the top criminal defense lawyers in St. Louis. Finally, we know that County Counselor Patricia Reddington, who serves at the pleasure of Democrat County Executive Charlie Dooley (previously a union member) is not moving the case.
This is even more interesting because Counselor Reddington distinguished herself in another assault trial. At that trial, a Republican Congressional Candidate was accused of assaulting a “campaign staffer” for Democrat Dick Gephardt, who was actually stalking the opposing candidate in a parade while drawing his paycheck from the U.S. Treasury. As the young patsy James Larrew got too close to his prey, he and the candidate made contact, and the “cameraman” went down. Democrat Counselor Reddington charged the Republican candidate with assault and went after him. After the week long trial the jury acquitted the candidate.
Of course the message was sent and Reddington delivered it. No, the message is not that you don’t mess with Dick Gephardt; it is that Counselor Reddington has no tolerance for street brutality. No tolerance unless the assailant is a made man. And today, that means a member of SEIU.

The St. Louis DA did not turn a blind eye on the Gladney beating and the thugs and perpetrators. He directly and callously SPIT into the face of every American citizen. We USED to be a country of laws. Winds of change becoming more furious… I just wish those cowardly goons would visit some of us so a proper amount of justice can be meted out.
Hey goons ? Why not pick on someone who is NOT handicapped ? Oh ! That's right.. You are filthy cowards who prey on the weak.
Quick note to Editor: Is the site having financial problems? You seem to have switched to very small type to use less electrons…
Can't someone step in and sue the City, the Country, or the State (or all three) for failing to properly process a vicious beating and assault? I don't know this Kenneth Gladney and I wasn't at the site of the incident and I do sternly believe in "innocent until proven guilty" so I'm not willing to convict all of the assailants or even any of them, but it seems pretty clear to me that there should at least be some sort of hearing or trial or grand jury or something to determine if these charges hold merit. We had thousands of people descend on Jena, LA to defend kids who clearly beat up a person of another race because of that person's race and yet these same people won't press for action on the beating of Kenneth Gladney? How dark must your soul be to sell it for such a minimal price as politics?
Not only in this case, but also in the Philly voting rights case. I really don't understand what people are letting happen to this country. So now, I should expect that if I go beat down a black Obama supporter (I'm white) or if I come to a voting center in military garb and hold a night stick, that will overlooked and dismissed as unimportant and not liberty threatening. Really, to quote Lombardi, what the Hell is going on out there?
The DA will face the voters at some point. Not soon enough for Mr. Gladney however long, payback will come.
Once you understand the rules, it’s much easier to play the game. What were Barry’s marching orders, “hit back twice as hard?”

St Louis, home of the dead candidate, home of the polls staying open for extra hours so the buses can roll in after the monitors have gone home. St Louis, home of the thugs for hire. Old mafia rules, labor goons roll their own way. It's a mess. And then there's East St Louis !?!?
ACORN is a big player in this town. They do voter registration with one pocket full of five dollar bills and the other full of cigarettes.
I live in Missouri and am ashamed that our state and country has come to this. Where is our justice? Our sense of outrage at the DA allowing this type of mafia behavior? It makes one wonder, just how much power are we going to give to SEIU before we decide that we do not want the KGB controlling our lives.
AND I agree with Kadaka, the type is almost impossible to read!
Isn't this the point where the US Justice Department jumps in and starts the "Violation of Civil Rights" investigation?
Oh wait, this is the Barry and Holder (In)Justice Department, which has better things to do. Sorry, my bad!
the union turds in STL have RUINED this city. convention business in STL is almost non-existent because the union turds have to get their greedy hands on everything from opening boxes to plugging desk lamps in. no one wants to do business with these union turds so the convention business goes elsewhere. way to go union turds. i shop at walmart to avoid these pos union turds. shiney shoe business agents work and collect union paychecks while the rank and file workers owe back dues and collect unemployment. same goes for politics and the local political democrat machine establishment who blazenly look the other way while protecting their own.

Just another example of how deep the corruption in this adminstration runs. They tell us to embrace diversity, peace and non-violent solutions to our differences of opinions then send thier thugs to go out and beat the crap out of anyone who resists thier ideals. My God, welcome to Nazi Germany!

In fairness to Mr. McCulloch, since the police originally classified this case as a misdemeanor assault, it would normally go to Mrs. Reddington's office for prosecution. Neither office goes out looking for cases, but the police bring reports to them, asking for charges to be filed. The fault, at least initially, lies with either the County Police, or the County Counselor's Office.
Now, however, three months later, it sure looks like there is some foot dragging. While the normal course of events is for police to bring cases to prosecutors, it is certainly possible for the prosecutors to ask for an incident to be brought to them. Ultimately, the charging decision belongs to the prosecutor, not the police. Mr. Gladney, or someone on his behalf, needs to get in touch with both offices, and see whether they will allow his beating to be swept under the rug. The time has come.
Every time I see "innocent until proven guilty" I want to scream. The proper phrase is "PRESUMED innocent until proven guilty", and it has no application to actual guilt…it is a procedural rule that requires the state AT TRIAL to go forward with proof of the case. How the term has become so bastardized I do not know.
What in the hell is going on around here? It’s one thing to have your money taken away and indirectly given to people you oppose politically so that they can implement policies you don’t like. However, enabling direct physical brutality is something new. Well, actually I suppose it’s something old. Something we haven’t seen since we officially had second class citizens. Where’s the progress progressives?

That's why they call it the Criminal Justice System–all the justice is for the criminals.
"Innocent until proven guilty" became tainted when it left the province of intellectual masturbators and entered the vocabulary of the unwashed masses, where it belongs.
Let's hope it isn't replaced by "innocent if you represent the right group," which seems to be the change that we voted for.
Sounds like Mr. Gladney needs to file a civil suit against the union and start hitting them with discovery motions. I suspect that will be coming down the pike….
The sad part is that there's witnesses, pics, videos, etc… proving the criminal activites.
Sad.
Bend down and kiss the ring America.
Freedom, hey that's for other countries right?

easy peezy
This story, and the video MUST be played OVER AND OVER on Fox and any other NEWS channel that will have it (basically only FoxNews). This is an article that truly shows the "CHANGE" Obama has made people believe in. The sad thing is, it's not even a majority of the country. It's elected representatives, groups like SEIU, ACORN, MoveOn, Kos, and the like, that have VERY loud voices, but not much to back it up. They DO have control of most of TV and Print news AND most shows and movies from hollywood, which makes it dangerous. FAR too many people are exposed to this rubbish on a minute by minute basis, that some are bound to BELIEVE THE HYPE and be brainwashed into supporting these incredulous people. We ALL need to SHOUT at the top of our lungs, and SHOW UP EVERYWHERE, because these people CANNOT deny crowds of screaming people in the numbers that we have. YES, we work, we have little time to do these things, BUT WE MUST DO THEM, or the life we are ABLE to live today, WILL BE GONE tomorrow. Let's get it together and fight back EN MASSE!!!
I am having a hard time reading it too.
It's much more likely to be just you. Browsers have text adjustment settings, check yours. Yes, there are people who actually like tiny text. Maybe you're just getting old?
Has every one forgotten that a law was just passed about someone inciting violence on another based on race, or whatever? Isn’t the White House saying, “If they are going to hit us, we will hit them back twice as hard”, covered under that law? Our government has a double standard for the laws, just like Russia, Red China, and allot of over Communist countries in the world, so does that mean that our law makers are Communists, maybe not all of them but the ones that Obama has around him are in their words as well as deeds.
We can take the country back if we put the pressure on those that want to use this type of force to impose their will on others. Don’t sit idly by and watch use all the force we have to make them pay. People power is what matters; we can overcome all this by forcing them out of office and making their lives after they leave office a living hell. Don’t let them rest even when we vote them out.
I can't believe we've come to the point where we deny what happens before our very eyes.
Waicool is correct – much of the convention business goes around St. Louis. And it's a shame – it is a nice city. But, if you're gonna be taken to the cleaners by the union – why not pay the same rates and enjoy the view of NYC or San Francisico? That's where the business goes in additional to Orlando, SoCal, Las Vegas, etc.
Wouldn't it be nice if this DA reconsidered?
No. The comments are normal font size, other people have noticed the small text. I know my default settings, I have not set a minimum font size. The website-specified font size is too small.
Not sure about the law in that particular area, but the victim should be able to bring a presentment before the Grand Jury in that County/City and force the DA to prosecute, if the DA is unwilling. In addition, anyone witnessing the crime may also bring presentments before the Grand Jury for indictment.
It would be nice if the blog was readable. The font is too tiny.
John Brown!
The DA should be arrested for civil rights violations for not punishing those malcontents that assaulted Gladney. The message they're sending is leftwing vermin will not be prosecuted for their crimes, you'll need to resort to vigilantism if you want justice; the legal system has abandoned Conservatives/Republicans.
The Civil War has begun.
Except that is making all the text larger, leading to side-scrolling. To get that large enough also leaves the comments looking like bold headline-size text.
I pity the people using netbooks. And there are those trying to read this on phones?
It's open season on whites/conservatives/republicans. If there's any justice those that have abdicated their oath of office in exchange for acting as a political arm for the democrat crime syndicate will pay for it with their lives.
Obama promised you transparency….Here it is!
I wonderin if my friend gotz beat up by SEIU might have civil case?
SEIU getz 300 million each year from members dues, and they gotz lots money for him to sue for 10 million damages n pain n suffrin. must be good lawyer that wantz 1/3 of that action???
And the message being sent is that there are no consequences to thuggery, as long as you are on the “acceptable” side of the political aisle. If you think the incident in Philadelphia was bad, wait until the next presidential election. They’ll stop at nothing to drag Othuggy over the finish line again.
So this DA was put in place by obama? Or was he always this way.
Seems to me the Democraps are trying desperately to get away with breaking the law(s) to get their way in every state. At the RNC in Mpls/StPaul, MN A POINT IN CASE! Sarah Palin, stepped down as Governor because of many unfounded ethics complaints. In, Gladney’s case-it will eventually be tried as a hate crime. As long as the current DA is voted out of office. We know the feds arn’t going to do a damn thing because of the Obama administration. I’m sorry, that Mr Gladney has become a “victim of a political hate crime.” Under Obama’s watch, things like this will NOT get fair consideration. After he is no longer president-we can they persecute him legally. I am a former SEIU member, in disgust. The Union ONLY cares about the dues that are required. And, are only using their members as a means to their personal end. SEIU, Andy Stern and their offices should be under scrutiny and investigation as well.
Do I have to come to St. Louis to lead the march around the McCulloch's office? Why not put 100 people on his sidewalk until he resigns?
In the late 80's I lived in Redding CA. There was a group of teenagers that were assaulting people that looked weak. They watched for their prety, then the vehicle from both sides at a traffic light or stop sign. They would pull beat and rob them, old men, old women, young mothers, they didn’t care.
A couple of weeks later some young marines were riding around the same area, they happened to be slunk down low in the seats and looked small I guess. Thugs eventually tried the same thing on them, only this time things took a bit of a turn for the worse for the young thugs, who ended up in the hospital after a severe beating that pretty much left them less than mobile.
I am not saying the Marines ambushed these guys, I am sure it was all coincidence, but the whole thing was witnessed properly and the young thugs ended up in jail.
Probably a matter of time before a guy sitting in a wheel chair turns out to be a cage fighter. Probably be on video and would probably take a bit of abuse first, before his friends stepped in.
Not advocating this of course, just reminiscing and thinking out loud
A crooked Mick for a DA, eh? Worse than Italian is an mean little Irish pug-ugly.
(I have a pass. I can call a bogtrotter anything I please, since I R one)
St. Louis is chock full of liberal/progressive scum that is hell bent on trying to gain favor with their Messiah BO by whatever means necessary. Not at all a surprise to me that they will epic fail at justice for Kenneth Gladney. It's tough to be a conservative in this town, but I will not back down. I will do everything in my power to get as many of these d-bags out of my government, out of my state and out of my town. The feeble-minded candy pants Russy boy Carnahan is my Rep and the pleasure of retiring him in 2010 will be difficult to top, that is, until 2012, when kicking the worthless water carrier Claire McCaskill to the curb will surely put the thrill up my leg. In the meantime, I will just have to reinforce my conservative spirit with delicious baked goods from MacArthur's Bakery:)
"that the political right had figured out the playbook of the political left."
Just consider that I went because the anger bubbled over. I went to protest the "left and right" in DC – the over the top corruption. The many protesters I came in contact with weren't calculated meaning they went because of their outrage and not because they figured anything out….except that we our governed by scum.
If there is not one lawyer in Missouri willing to take civil action on behalf of this victim then you DO know where this country is heading? Don't you?
This isn't 1764 anymore. We are creeping into a repeat of American history. And the perps are no longer across the pond. They are all on American soil. Give me liberty or give me death.
Time for a civil lawsuit against each SEIU member. Ask for millions in damages, pain and suffering, etc.
Exactly. Our Dear Reader practices fascism, which was always a far left movement. Don't tell Queen Pelosi. Her face might crack.
The owner of MacArthur's is wondering how long they can hold on, given this administration's propensity for killing off small businesses.
This probably happens all the time in St. Louis. The difference is the cameras were running and the thugs forgot about it. It is time that we all monitor the public activites of politicians, police, and especially the purple people beaters. They dishonor themselves when they act but the elected representatives refusing to act dishonor The People. Don't they say something like "no justice, no peace"? When you go out, take one of the new spy gadgets with the hidden camera because if they don't see the camera you'll see more action. "BuyEtechs.com" and we'll start trapping the pigs.
How about giving this one to Bill O’Reilly? Maybe he will go after the Attorney General to force prosecution…or at least flush Eric Holder out. He could set up a special telephone to the U.S. Attorney’s office like Glenn Beck did with the White House.
States have immunity vs. prosecutions unless they wave them. I don't know if this extends to counties.
So true – the MacArthur family needs our support. I tell everyone I can to frequent MacArthur's whenever possible to keep them in business. They are too delicious to fail!
count me in and your 100% correct
like holder letting those black panthers off the hood and this clown letting the seiu thugs off the hook i guess we are on ouown because under obama the law is against us
Face it people, organized labor runs the White House. They bought and paid for Barak Husssein Obama, even though he never worked one hour at mans job. Its a shame, that all that all the union dues I paid to the IBEW, went to help illegal aliens get union jobs, and put obama, the boy king, a muslim from Kenya in the white house.
Where is girlie man Eric Holder ? Oh, yea he is off with the new black panthers figuring out how to block all white people from the polls, and to make it look like the teabaggers did it.
Everything looks perfect on my screen, but then again I can see quite clearly.
Looks like it time to bring back some Lynchin'. We are looking at the times when Jefferson's words might HAVE to be made true.
these are the same prosecutors who were going to prosecute ads agaqinst Obama!
Maybe the SEIU thugs will form the core of our dear leader's little brownshi*t army. Oooooh, I'm scared.
You will not find justice. The best we can hope for is 'process'. Most of us won't even get that. We are all losing faith in the 'rule of law'. Our courts have 'judges' that certainly are more like a Ring Master than 'stately judges'. Agenda overrides law. Corrupt prosecutors are not imprisoned (Duke case and others). It has come that in America one is as innocent as one can afford to be… .
If this beaten man was wealthy the 'wheels of justice' would speed to his rescue….
Sad. To watch the decline of our America is so sad….
Oh my! I have upset someone by mentioning something from when the article came out that was corrected later! They were so distraught they voted my comments down.
Now I am upset and distraught. This is terrible! Boo-hoo!
I shed one tear.
MCCULLOUGH AND REDDINGTON ARE BOTH BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY THE UNIONS AND IT DOES TRAIL FROM THEM TO THE SEIU TO ANY STERN AND THE WHOLE STINKING WAY UP TO THE WHITE HOUSE… A COUPLE OF LIBERAL WATER CARRYING BITCHES THESE TWO ARE… WE NEED GB AND RUSH TO SPOTLIGHT THEM REPEATEDLY AND FOR ST. LOIUS PATRIOTS TO SHOW UP AT THEIR PLACES OF WORK AND DEMAND EXPEDIANT AND PROPER TREATMENT OF THIS CASE!!!!
What happened to those hoodlums in Redding should happen to the SEIU thugs that beat up on Ken Gladney. I'm not saying those thugs should be ambushed or anything…
