To Our Friends in Europe, We Apologize for Our President
by John LoudonThe America in which I was raised always stood for freedom, and not just freedom for Americans but freedom for suffering people around the World. When I was an exchange student in Germany in 1983, I found myself in endless debates about this, and about my President Ronald Reagan and his desire to build a missile defense system in Western Europe. I loved the German people. The kids were so refreshing in many ways, but their cynical views of the motives of my President shocked me.

John Loudon at Berlin Wall
I admit that I am a little unique. As a fairly young child, I poured through every issue of Time magazine, which is like our version of the German magazine, Die Zeit. Jimmy Carter was the President. He talked of peace while cutting our defense spending. I remember being very scared seeing charts and graphs comparing our defense systems including war planes, ships and intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). The American armaments were blue and the Soviets vastly superior forced were Red. Here my story gets really odd. I was 12 years old when I read George Orwell’s 1984. The year was 1979. I was so struck by what I read and the parallels to the modern Soviet Union, that I picked up a copy of the Communist Manifesto. What I read made me nearly shriek in fear.
The Communist manifesto holds that communism cannot work unless the World is communist. The other fact I read, was that every time in this Century that America was attacked, a Democrat was in the White House, downsizing our military. So it was clear that the nearer the Soviet empire came to economic collapse, and had superior military capabilities, the more likely it was that they would attack. They were aggressively building up while Carter, the face of America, was downsizing our military. I often had trouble sleeping at night for fear of the Soviet missile attack.
Then we elected Ronald Reagan. He became the new face of America to the World. My German friends did not like him. He moved fast and completely changed the course of America. He began rebuilding our military and he delivered that famous speech in Berlin in which he challenge Soviet President Michael Gorbachev to “tear down this wall!” My teenage German friends kept arguing that Reagan was a war-monger and that while Americans were good people, our President was bad. I tried to explain that in our political system, you cannot separate the two. Our President is us. The President cannot go to war without the American people. But he will go to war to protect you. He wants to use American tax dollars to place a missile defense system in Western Europe to protect you, because he felt a moral duty to you.
One of the most momentous experiences in my life was in June of 1990. I was back in Germany! Now I was married and my new wife, Gina and I were making a fast trek through Europe on our way to Berlin. On Saturday, June 16, 1990 I had the amazing privilege to chop on the wall. I got very emotional and still do to this day, at the realization that I was literally tearing open the cage that imprisoned my fellow man. This was of course a symbolic move, although we wondered whether Gorbachev would change his mind or become the victim of a coup and the Wall chopping would stop. So I joined hundreds of people, mostly Germans, I rented a hammer and chisel and I chopped. The real satisfaction was that I had helped to elect a President who valued the individual lives of any human being, without regard to geography, religion or people group enough that he would risk everything to set them free.
Now we have a new face of America. We elected Barak Obama, and he does not feel that moral duty to you as Reagan did, at least not enough to stand up to the shrill American voices that hate the American military. So he will not be there on November 9th to Celebrate the Fall of the Berlin Wall. I do not think he sees it the way you do. He will also not participate in the festivities on the campus of my College. Westminster College, in my State of Missouri, is where the great Allied leader Winston Churchill gave the Iron Curtain Speech. He told the World how millions of our fellow human beings were being stuffed into the cage, the very cage I was privileged to help dismantle. He had a way with words. On the campus of another American College he gave his shortest speech “Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever give in.” But I digress.
Our new President believes that you are on your own. As the KGB agent-turned-billionaire, puppet master of the Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin conducts war games of an assault on Poland, Obama has decided to tear down the American missiles from Poland. We knew that he cared less as he promised to remove our protection from the Iraqi people. 150 of them were slaughtered just this week. He really wants to find a way out of Afghanistan and pull our soldiers out just as you are pulling your U.N. workers out right now.
So my new President will not be there with you, like John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan were there for you. He has other priorities. I really wish I could be there to celebrate with you. Unfortunately, with the passing of time, I have five children, our economy is bad, and I too, have other priorities. So I am sorry that my President, the American face to the World will not be there for you. I feel just a little better knowing that you asked America to give him to you. I hope you like him.

" I feel just a little better knowing that you asked America to give him to you. I hope you like him. "
I hope they take him ! We will even pay them in Euros.
David Axelrod, the president’s senior adviser, said the White House is realistic. “No one ever believed that the power of communicating was in and of itself enough,” he said. “It’s important to communicate what you’re doing and why. But without the what and the why, the communicating is of little value.”
Mr. President even Axelrod says you have "little value". You might want to sleep with one eye open. I hope you like him, or better yet I hope you keep the Chicago Machine happy.
I was in the military in 1979, the difference between then and 1980 was amazing, the morale soared, by the end of the 80's the whole country had changed it's attitude about itself.
Jimmy Carter told us we were stupid, evil, and incapable and instituted policies that based on that wold view, Jimmy Carter II is going down the same path, and I suspect will end up leaving the oval office hat in hand head held low just Mr. Peanut did.
Screw B-Daddy and his CZars and all the little leftards with their hands out looking for a free lunch, your days are numbered.
Poland Betrayed. Not startling but shocking. Not perplexing but chilling.
The behavior of this POTUS is fading from clumsy and infantile to deliberate and sinister. Mean mean man.
When the beacon of Freedom and DEmocracy falls, who will be left to save the world from self destruction?
If the USA as we knew it truly passes from the Earth, the rest of world is doomed.
As someone who lived in Berlin from 1987-1989 and then moved to West Germany for four more years, I can tell you that communism was very much an oppressing force. The joy when that wall came down was unbelievable (as was the event itself)! I was so proud to be an American and associated with the U.S. military. Americans had protected the freedom of the German people for over forty years after WWII and showed them the compassion and caring of a victorious people. Too bad the world has forgotten that about us.

As we know Obama’s agenda is one of total power over the people, he is and empty suite and if you watch and listen he is not the one making the decision it is his so called advisors. We the people need to remove the Czars from around him and remove the advisors, reduce the buffer zone he has built (just like Chicago politics). We the people (I don’t mean to speak for all, but I know some feel this way) don’t want a President that is weak (as this one is), he has not done any of the things he said he would but he has raised taxes on the middle class, removed as many freedoms as he can for now (more to follow). He has isolated the EU from us they don’t like where he is going, Germany is going away from the values Obama is trying to move towards.
IT IS TIME MY FELLOW AMERICANS TO STAND UP AND FIGHT, DO NOT WAIT TILL IT IS TOO LATE.
HA! WHAT A CROCK!
On a site called "Big Government" comes this sob story about defense spending being cut. The hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Conservatism, we hardly knew ye. You have been replaced by faux machismo.
Been feeling an exaggerated sense of self-importance lately, have ya?
You missed the whole "what" and "why" part.
Yeah, real morale boost when we shipped weapons to Afghanistan and Saddam. I don't care about boosts to morale contrived through misleading the people. I care about the long-term. Something Reagan NEVER considered.
Barry’s not happy about the wall coming down, one his favorite organizations fell with it the East German Stasi!
I was an exchange student in '90-'91 in Germany, had similar experience. I've lived in Europe ever since. The Germans and other Western Europeans have a very juvenile relationship to the US. They expect it to sort out their problems (such as Bosnia), but then nag us for essentially the same reasons. However, I disagree with the former Senator on one important point. The push to bring down the Berlin wall was never about West Germans ("Wessis" as they call themselves). Instead, it was about those behind the iron curtain (not only the former East Germans). As such, I would never expect Western Europeans to vindicate Ronald Reagan. The vindication of Reagan comes from those who were liberated. Read Lech Walensa. He's made speaches and wrote pieces which are very complimnentary of Reagan's courage. Germans have always been obtuse naval gazers. That's never going to change.
In the end, there's no reason to "apologise" for Barry Obama. The Euro Trash wanted him – let 'em suck on it.
Fishing or Catching???
Never mind you are just trolling…
Henry, you miss the point, defense spending is the antithesis of biggovernment insofar as it protects us from being vanquished by big socialist governments like Nazis and Ruskies. Evidently that is your preference,
Containing Russia and Revolutionary Iran were good things.
10% unemployment and multitrillion dollar deficits. Henry your in-power now and we better get utopia fast. The left got power demonizing people but you wont stay in power that way.
Turn up the sound..you will love this:

is moveon.org closed on Sunday's, troll?
Has it really been that long since we lived next to The Beast, that America did not recognize it when it asked to move in with us?
Of course communism will only work if the entire world is communist, as practically anything else will do better and surpass it.
Well, guess those old-time radical hippie commies, with their descendants and disciples, have finally pulled it off, the USA is losing her greatness and is being brought low, no better than any other country. Soon they can finalize their long-held plans of achieving peace by uniting with their brothers and sisters in the long struggle. Except, the commie nations they feared and wished to join with are gone, for their leadership has acknowledged capitalism is superior, all they really want is what communism's happy face hid and granted them, as much power as they can use whenever they want to use it.
Does this mean the US is now condemned to fifty-plus years of darkness until these liberals give up the facade of the benefits of socialism/communism and are merely content with the power they always craved? Or will we stop them now however we can, perhaps, if needed, with something… revolutionary?
the fact that liberals are superficial thinkers, physical cowards, and are morally corrupt makes conservatives ecstatic . You all will be so easy to squish.
your momma, dont you have a queer rally to get to henry
HEY, THIS MUST BE HENRY NOSTRUSMAXIMUS WAXMAN POSTING HERE..
HEY DIPSHIT, WE DON'T MIND THE SPENDING WHEN IT GOES TO ACTULLY SECURE MORE
FREEDOM FOR OURSELVES, AND SINCE WE'RE GENEROUS, KIND CONSERVATIVES, OTHER PEOPLES TOO. OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS BIG GOVERNMENT TAKING MORE AND MORE OF OUR FREEDOMS AWAY… YOU'RE FROM THE SHALLOW END OF THE GENE POOL, EH, DIPHIT DUMMY????
Ultimately we need to help spread freedom for our own reasons. It is good for the US. Lets not get delusional on what we did for the world. People can only free themselves.
"It is hard to free people from chains they revere." Voltaire
The American people watched Hitler topple the French Republic in 6 weeks and did nothing. Today we watch crowds of Iranians call out the name of our president and we do nothing. To me the cup of Americas efforts is half empty.
Sorry Henry
Jimmy C. started the whole Afghanistan thing with his policy of weakness, the Iranian thing he was directly responsible for, but that doesnt concern you does it Henry?
I should have specified that I dont care what leftist piece of America hating trash feels (you dont ever think) but I thought that was implied.
If you were around in the Jimmy C days how did you like them, when you think back do your eyes get all dreamy as you whisper "Good times, good times"
LMAO
Leave it to the "Anonymous" leftist trolls to complain about how the adults solved the problems that the children created, things never change
At least have the decency to register so that you can get a proper spanking henry, I mean I know your a simpleton and a coward, but it's the internet, very little risk of exposure!
It's not like when the 10 year old's on your street stare you down and you have to cross over to the other side to avoid wetting your wifes panties that you love to wear.
At least pretend to be a man, you can even use a phoney e-mail address.
Senator,
It seems your introduction to Soviet and Communist studies parallels my own. Thanks for expressing my feelings about Obama's affront to freedom and to the Cold Warriors who helped deliver the East Bloc from the evil of collective tyranny . . . only you said it better than I could have! Keep up the great work.
oh, i didn't know we were fighting voluntarily funded wars. We aren't compelled to pay taxes? I must be wrong, heck, apparently I don't even know where the caps lock button is. good thing you do
Henry is writing this as he sit's in front of his sons computer (as a sex offender he can't post on his own) wearing his wifes panties, furiously typing before she comes in and catches him again.
I mean as long as your writing fiction henry we might as well do the same and have some fun with the silly leftist, are your pounding your keyboard in rage as you read the replies?
Impotent little leftist, your days are numbered.
And you missed the importance of honesty when communicating the "what" and "why".
I know, "honesty" is such a relative word.
It was FDR during WW2, not Reagan. The same FDR of the new bill of rights. Child-like, self-aggrandizing immaturity, that's all I see here.
By the end, I was singing right along with Lloyd. Very nice.
Strange, that is all I am seeing in your "reply" as apparently you did not bother to read my comment before spewing your "intelligent rebuttal."
Obama takes the wrong side regularly. But then he's just being true to his inner voice.
Wrong side of; Iranian protests, Honduras, missile defense, free speech, capitalism, . . . . . . . . . . . .
Ouch how hurtful. By the way:
sit's = not a word. watch those apostrophes. i learned that in PUBLIC school
sons = there's where you need an apostrophe. possessive -> son's
wifes = see above
You're = you are, different from "Your," which is the possessive form
Man-"ure" = shallow conservative philosophy, birthed from a high tolerance for inequality, leading to a society dominated by short-term thought, violating our basic human rights
Thinking_Man, perhaps you should get off these divisive blogs and "think" about learning kindergarten grammar.
Wait, when we started the illegal war, torture, the financial crisis, and dismissing Western Europe as "old", you were fine. But now that we decided to provide health care to all of our citizens, we should apologize.
Makes sense- in hell…
Henry, are your wifes panties cutting off the blood flow to your head?
One man's Honesty is another man's Hate speech
henry, don`t let all those mean old conservatives boor you with that patriotic stuff. I can see you are a deep thinker – you deserve some fun.come on down to sunny Florida, we will let you feed the nice gators.
This has got to be the stupidest comment ever from Axelrod. Doesn't he realize that getting up on the podium and spouting lovely platitudes ("Hope!" "Change!") is not communicating? Communicating means conveying ideas and information (the "what" and the "why") to your audience. Without that, it's all just empty words. It may sound nice, but it's not communication.
Wonderful! Thank you!
Indeed the Euroweenies love Obama, he's just like them, an elitist, cynical, risk averse and spineless. Europe is socialized to the point that they are increasingly governed by unelected bureaucrats in Brussels. Their freedoms have been slipping away. I guess it beats burning themselves to the ground like they did twice last century chasing rabid nationalism and utopian fascist dreams. Democracy never came easily to them.
Self-loathing European secularists have now set up their own demise with their future demographics. In a couple of generations the density of Muslims will be as high as 40% in some areas. Good luck with that, dhimmis.
Don't worry, the "Revolutionary" Iranians are very dependable. Today they cheer him, tomorrow they will denounce him as just another "imperialist American president."
Now, it may be awhile until the MSM gets around to showing us pictures of a black man hanged in effigy and burned, but that shouldn't bother them as Barry is just another white power-hungry Chicago radical liberal except with a dark skin tone. However, dollars to donuts it has already happened at least once during one of their regularly-scheduled completely-spontaneous anti-American protests, they get all the presidents regardless.

Pssst….I was wondering how long it was going to take before the usual lefty grammer lesson.
Advanced apologies for any misspells.
twinespc-21 min. ago —-"WE" are NOT providing health care to all of our citizens , "THEY" are jamming "IT"down "OUR" throats! We are just going to be bled dry.
how dare you, conservatives are never hypocritical! who cares about policy, we should apologize to Spain for having a black president, and throw some bananas at him by proxy.
THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!

"Go ahead, have your little romance with Obama!
I hope you're happy with each other! Waaaahhhhhh!!"
he is "and empty suite"
Musta been a typo from Glenn Beck's book. Keep makin' him rich.
When we removed a dictator you mean? Yes I was ok with that.
When we used torture to stop more attacks on America and our allies? Yes I was ok with that.
Speaking of torture, you know it helped win WW2 right?
To be against the use of torture to stop americans from dying you have to be against us winning WW2.
Please submit an argument for why winning WW2 was bad.
If you can't, then you can't back being against torture, which you are against by your statements. This will lead to conflicting statements, which will render anything else you say meaningless now until the end of time.
Thanks Bill. John (@johnloudon) here (on Gina's account) You are the master my friend and way too humble with this: "only you said it better…"
The best I have seen. Lloyd Marcus needs to get booked at every conservative rally. He's Gold.
Communism just doesn't take hold with a proud prosperous people who are used to something much better.
Barry and cronies know they have to break us first, and they will just keep at it until done. When everything is reduced to rubble and mud huts, then building them their new Tower of Babel will seem like an impressive worthwhile undertaking.
Speaking of a political philosophy that needs an undertaker…
To Our Friends in Europe, We Apologize for Our President.
We apologize for our Congress.
We apologize for Nancy Pelosi.
We apologize for Mr. Reed.
We are embarrassed by out leadership which has let the American people down as well as the rest of the world.
We are disgusted by Barney Frank, Schumer and Dodd, the sculptures of the housing debacle. Who built a house of cards through forced loans made to millions of Americans who should never have been anywhere near a mortgage. Who allowed Fannie and Freddie to insure those loans which sparked the Wall Street greed.
We have become the nanny state where personal responsibility is replaced by the culture of entitlement at the hands of progressive radical left wing retards.
To Our Friends in Europe, We Apologize for Our President, his cabinet and his communist Marxist regime.
There's a reason Stalin referred to liberals as USEFUL IDIOTS. They are so easily duped, so easily led to the slaughter, grinning stupidly as they go.
Free health care? No, mandatory health insurance payments to pay for the unions' free health care and for all those federal workers, inclusive of the new uneducated pencil pushers in the 111 new federal agencies being set up by this monstrosity of a bill. The doctors will be setting up private clinics in Canada where Americans – and Canadians – will be getting their quality health care. In the US, there will be long waits and long lines. People will die waiting to see a doctor. Just ask those in Canada and Britain. Libs never learn. They think they know better.
I hope they choke on him.
There is no long term in politics. Did you forsee how useless obama was going to be a year ago?
Decisions are made in foreign policy because the administrations are trying to predict what course of action will best benifit the US and keep its people safe. The times you talk of are a good case hindsight quarterbacking. However, I was alive at the time and remember it for what it was.
Iran was an enemy and their neighbor Iraq was not. Saddam never did anything publicly wrong at this point.
Afghanistan was invaded by the Soviets. The afghans had never done anything wrong to the US at this point. So why then would a president think that one day their islamist wackos would be attacking us? There was no indication of it.
So spare us your diatribe that pretends to show you knew exactly what was going to happen. No one predicted the islamo scum problem.
Where is the hypocrisy? Conservatism seeks the government to remain within the bounds of the Constitution. Defense is explicitly called out.."provide for the common defense"…"Big Government" is highlighting unconstitutional efforts by the Left….Now, where is the Left's defense of the Constitution?
It's not about spending levels, but setting priorities. When throw hopeful allies to the wolves(BEAR), like Poland And Czech Rep, when you side with the opposition and interfere with national sovereignty, like telling Israel what they can and can't do, when you're willing to fly the CHINESE FLAG over the WHITE HOUSE, but not meet the Dali Lama, when you play petty politics and dither on whether you want to WIN a war, or just PROLONG it, you're sending powerful signals to our rivals and enemies. Defense goes far beyond spending, it is an attitude. And attitude is what has won every major conflict from the Rev War to Civil War to WW2. "Millions for defense, not a penny in tribute"
As for faux machismo, and faux conservatives, they are called RINOS, Neocons, and Lib Light and we're purging them as we speak.
Yes, there is a disconnect between idealism and realism, between charity and self serving policy, but in the grand history of the world, there has never been any government that has done more, for more people.
When dealing with addicts, often all that can be done is to set and example and offer encouragement. You cannot save them until they are ready and willing to save themselves.
Your French example is overly simplistic. An America, in economic distress, was in no way able to respond to a conflict not of our making and not a direct threat to us, to defend a nation far better equipped than our own, suffering bitter internal turmoil. On paper, the French military was equal or greater than the Nazi machine.Take the time to read about the political and cultural break down that was occurring in France prior to the war that greatly added to their rapid collapse. Care to guess which political group was in the thick of it?
BUT, that example has been the foundation of American Pre-emption ever since.
Maybe that is what we need. Tens of thousands of Americans sending letters to all the European leanders apologizing for Dumbama and his worthlessness.
the term is from well before Beck, it come from the 1930 when smart asses tryied to make it in politics kind of like trying to write on this blog when you can't see the sun shine!
Legal, what does that even mean? I didn't realize the NWO was already running the world and had any say on how America conducts its military policy. Afghanistan-100% righteous, even Dear Leader professed that during the campaign. Iraq, not particularly smart or well thought out, but carried out under UN resolution.
Your idea of "torture" is my idea of mistreatment. Want to know about actual torture, you need to read up on Imperial Japanese practices, or the VC. I'ld take a year at Gitmo over a day with any of them.
Financial crisis, yes there were many hands in that pie, but I recall a 100% GOP House vote oppossing bailing out thieving banksters. Too bad the Pelosi said yes.
And believe it or not, the UK's finances make ours look good. And the chief cause? NHS
And who is "we" want health care? SEIU? UAW? Last poll I saw said 54% oppossed, only 40% for. That's a bigger margin then carried the election. …and I don't recall Barry EVER mentioning that one during the campaign.
then vote the assholes out of office, don't vote them back in as everyone always does. B. Frank, Pelosi, Reed, and Dodd need to be brought up on charges of stealing from americans. Since they are the ones making money from all the bills passed these last several years. Frank and Dodds for Fanny and Freddy, Pelosi for health care, Reed for his letting the unions and all the other scum get away with what they have been doing for years.
earth first and code pink are closed, no guv handouts today
ditto!!!!
Look at the damage this lying president has done in a mere 10 months and the divisiveness he has created with our long standing allies. Not to mention the accelerating racism he has perpetrated on our society. How about the disgust he has for America. Did anyone EVER think this would have been possible during the election process last November. I hope you revolting libs are pleased with yourselves. As to the minority vote…gee…duh… Whooda thunk it ! Time to roll on these bastards !
If only black people would stay in their proper place there wouldn't be any racism. They have to start being all uppity and mess it up. GREAT point.
What the hell does disgust for America even mean? We are one country trying to do the right thing. Grow up.
"The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."
Visiting divided Berlin was an experience. I did with a group of American cub scouts once, and these boys less than 11 all of them knew how good it was to be free when they crossed back to the west. They are men today, I bet they remember, I bet most did not vote for what we have.
I started my military service in 1980, still while the ignorant peanut farmer, Carter was still President, and I agree with you, when Reagan was elected the Moral lift was incredible! We are heading toward a new revolution if things keep going this way. I for one, will be on the side of the Patriots of this country, not the current administration and congress.
"The tree of freedom, needs to be refreshed from time to time with the blood of Patriots and tyrants" Thomas Jefferson
Here in Florida too on deep water..lots of gators if you need help, Starz…
If you insist on trolling here, at least make points that can be deciphered by a somebody outside of an institution.
No, Obama simply reignites racism by his constant references to racism, real or imagined. He used it to get elected, and he uses it to falsely accuse his political opponents, and he falsely appropriates its injustices to himself. He's a poseur. What "digust for America"? Why, the disgust revealed in his shameful and shameless apologizing to terrorist peoples and countries for America. Certainly, America is not perfect, but by no means did we owe those countries an apology.
Obama has it made, because of his half-blackness. If you're for him, you're enlightened and are free from racism; if you're not, then you're just a gun-and-religion clinging racist.
Ummm….. It was the black vote that got him elected….. Notice how they NEVER turn out for any other election….

How many jobs (union of course) would building a new Tower of Babel create?
Mister Loudon resembles a young Sean Hannity in his Berlin Wall photograph. I had honestly thought it was Hannity.
I am currently a Field Engineer conducting operations at the cutting edge of the Ballistic Missile Defence System. I am working on the newest of the 6 transportable RADARS created under GWB for the purpose of fulfilling Reagans SDI dream. I was astonished at the TOTAL lack of real and actual bargaining for concrete results that accompanied this administrations unilateral decision to abandon a European missile shield.
Deus est Semper Fidelis
The flames of freedom have been snuffed out! Gone is the time when america was beacon of hope to the world! The American public has foolishly bought into the lies of the Obama Presidency and will pay the price in blood over the years to come. This president disrespects every man and woman who paved the way for his rise to power thru their sacrifice on the battle fields around the world. He thumbs his nose at american values and accomplishments Opting instead to wallow in the racism and bigotryt of his Amercia hating friends.Freedom isn't free and as each generation faces the challenges of the world they eiher bow to the agreesor or stands on principles of freedom that are time less and truely inspired by God. Part of those principles are built upon the foundations of the Christain religion but Obama isn't Christian, he's muslim and acting as if he was Baptist. He once told America to judge him by the people that surround him. Funny when we do, he whines loudly that we're taking it all out context.
Between Obamas refusal to act inregards to afghanistan and the need for more tropps to win the war against his fellow Muslims to the "Shout Out" to campaign workers, the useful idiots as Stalin called them, he continues to demostrate how he has nothing but contempt for the men and women in uniform and the sacrafices they make to keep America safe and free. Just these two incidents ar enough to force him and the rest of the #%#$*$ Washington hackes he is surroiunded by and those in congress out of office and let us get on with keeping America the beacon of freedom and Prosperity to the World. If we don't get rid of these fools we will lose the country we love. Now that they've passed the health care bill which is code or the slavery doctrine! We are in great peril and it will be us the everyday people of America and hopefully the MIlitray that will take back out country! Wake up America!
Read the Book! It tells you the end!
Well said we need the Sheriffs with Balls and moral values on our side to win Big or it will be a long Revolution.

Funny because I thought your beloved Democrats Barney Frank and Chis Dodd as well as Obama's buddies in ACORN caused the housing market which in turn caused more chaos in the financial market. Along with George Soros and his love of meddling. Unemployment is in double digits because of THIS president. Taxes are going to sky rocket because of the "health care of all of our citizens". Because sweety, universal health care isn't free. Cap and Trade will effect everyone from business to the poor single mother living in the projects because our energy cost will sky rocket. Not to mention Obama going to Denmark to sign away our sovereignty in that Climate Change fiasco that will creat a one world government. Western Europe is going to hell and wants to take the US with them. The only agology I want is from all the morons who voted for people like Obama and Pelosi.
I didn't vote for this moron. I'm not apologizing for crap. Sarah Palin 2012.
What’s your mortgage rate?
Well, they start building it into something great, then give up when it stops making sense, it falls apart… So they start again! Communism is a self-perpetuation jobs machine that way, there will always come a generation that believes the old people screwed it up and they can do better. Then there are the neighboring areas that see it going up and want one for themselves…
Of course (as the metaphor mangling continues), once everyone is basically in one big union, with everyone working for their own union, the individual entities known as unions will no longer be required. Any benefit possibly derived from union membership will be granted by the government, up to where all receive the same. Those whose power was centered on being union management, will lose all power, as the government they helped support no longer needs them. At some point that Tower becomes self-supporting, then the scaffolding can be discarded.
Perhaps if unions realized that they ultimately will not be the masters, but merely other "useful idiots," they would be far less eager to be so useful.
"starznbarzphoto" in youtube search – then click on 9-12 D.C. turn up your speakers. we should be circulating all these types of video`s/photo`s to people that hav`nt figured it out yet. I`ve shown this to people that don`t pay attention, or only watch network news – you can see the light come on, then they always say – "is this really true? then they say, " I hav`nt heard anything about this"
Why don't you get we have no freedoms if not for our military? How can you be so dense? There is ONE reason why western Europe thrived to the point of a very cushy lifestyle, early retirement,etc..they were under the American military umbrella,we protected them for 50 years,it was our blood and money that kept them free..
triple ditto or would that be a Tritto ? Either way How you liken the change now! How wonderful that wall came down. As a typical sheltered American I will have no true idea about what life would be like on the other side of that wall or watching people I love on the other side of that wall while I sat in freedom. I can say Im glad that wall is down. No one deserves to be without the freedoms humans deserve.
Thank you! I put this video on my facebook page!!!

Look what Obama said about these killings:
http://americaspeaksink.com/2009/11/the-press-cov...
don't forget the youth vote 18-30…that also got out in unusual fashion, after they were all brainwashed by our public schools and colleges/universities to love socialism/marxism……we need to all sit down and have a heart to heart chat with our kids…..this is mostly our own fault for letting the next generation abandon democracy.
Obama is the biggest threat for freedom ever. He is trying to collapse all the cornerstones of happiness for the individual people. If USA fails to stand up for freedom we are all doomed. People still supporting him should come to Europe to see what kind of a disaster the system he is pushing for is. People have become puppets of the government and there is really no discussion about issues. It is either the government way or "wrong thinking". People are so used to this misery that no matter how tight the times turn or how many freeloaders the system has all is well. It is very sad to see people decline to that level. Where has common sense, initiative, moral, hard work, ideas and compassion disappeared?
Thanks for this, I forwarded it to all my friends…

A gentleman added a post on Saturday that suggested that people go to http://www.Dearpolitician.org to write your politicians. Of course, he made it sound too-good-to-be-true, but I checked it out and found it to be a legit website that is pretty cool. The one thing that caught my attention is that they had a section called "Things Americans Should Know". The interesting thing about this section is that it has the complete, US Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and Pledge of Allegiance all in audio format. They have the text version, but face it, who reads all of those documents. They actually have all of those documents professionally recorded. I listened to all of them Saturday, after hearing the news of more American soldiers getting killed, I felt I could at least listen to the documents they list their lives to protect. I recommend everyone take the time to visit http://www.dearpolitician.org and listen to the most important documents we are all trying to protect.
And you better not mess with Axelrod. I found this picture of him addressing the National Press Club. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Telescreen.png
Fox News was not invited, I understand.
What did you pour over the magazines?

Obama is merely a stutter step for the United States of America. However, she will not survive the stresses Obama & Co are trying to put upon her but I know the American people at large will not allow it. I love our Country, will protect her with my life, non negotiable and we will begin to get her back beginning November 2010.
I do caution future conservative leaders of this great nation. If you’re about character, morals, values and doing the right thing then that's a good beginning in my book but if not you might as well not waste your time or ours. Please look for other work because going forward politico's who don’t perform as advertised will be run out on a rail in half a nanosecond.

Ahmmm,…. I'm as unhappy with Obama as the next person but the only time we were attacked in the 20th Century was 1941 and Roosevelt to his credit had been doing everything he could do to rearm while being opposed by Republican isolationists.
John, I can appreciate a lot of your sentiments but we shouldn't apologize to Europeans. Frankly I hope we even pull out of NATO. As much as I despise Obama I'm glad he didn't go to Germany. If you wanna find sickening anti-Americanism on a daily basis, go there. They, like many in the UK , Sweden, France etc. are simply better than us. Leave them to their own deluded superiority complex and let them rise or fall without any of our presidential acknowledgments, let alone real sacrifice of money and men. If you wanna be sorry, feel it for the prejudice you will experience being treated as second-class simply because of your nationality, and be glad in this country we don't easily give such license.
I read Conscience of a Conservative when I was 16. I served an LDS mission in South Germany from 1967-1969, beginning in Coburg. I never saw the border fences between West and East Germany but I could feel their presence.
I was there, not Coburg, but in Germany, when the Soviets sent tanks into Czechoslovakia. And when the wall fell, I felt that I was witnessing a miracle. Ever since, I've thought of the line "where troubles melt like lemon drops," when I remember how amazing that was. The Iron Curtain just popped like a bubble.
I have always had the same feelin that you describe, that unless we aggressively spread freedom, slavery will enclose us. Obama's rock-paper-scissors diplomacy is as disgusting to me as illegal arms dealing.
We don't like him. Well, at least I don't. I admit many Europeans do like Obama, and the democratic party in general.
I am grateful to US for standing up against the communist, the nazis and the fascist. I am grateful that you keep the worlds shipping lines safe, aspiring nuclear powers in check and dictators worried.
Don't leave us and we won't leave you. At least not all of us.
Why is this a matter of appology? Can not and should not Europe now look to its own defense and security, especially given that the Soviet Union is no more, Russian troops are now 1000 miles further east and the former slave natiuons are free?
First thing… It should be noted that defense spending started going up under Carter as a response to increase Communist aggression around the world (especially after the invasion of Afghanistan). And at the start there was a level of bi-partisanship on it (along with deregulation). I don't mean to taking anything away from Reagan. There are certain slippery facts that author has in the essay that are not really backed up. Another example, Putin is not listed as a Billionaire. The article linked in the essay said Putin is cozy to Russian billionaire oligarchs, not that Putin is a billionaire.
How long have you been singing with the Dixie Chicks?
Thinking Man is right about morale in the military under Carter. I vividly remember the difference between Carter and Reagan as CIC. Carter would send out Christmas messages to the troops with words to the effect that America expected us to conserve resources and not display any Christmas lights on base because the energy crisis was the moral equivalent of war. Reagan’s first Christmas message went something like this— Nancy and I want you to know that America is proud of you. We honor your service to our great country. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays—It made a lot of difference to me — I think Obama is the second coming of Jimmy Carter–except at least Carter served in the Navy.
I didn't like it when people apologized to Europe on behalf of the last president, either.
[...] Joe Loudon who was in Berlin on the day the Wall describes what has changed. History ended in 1989, but not quite in the way people thought. Fundamentally this generation of Americans and Europeans lost the will to pay for anything while its appetite for everything remained unabated. The eventual result was Barack Obama. In the next few years the heirs of the victory of the Cold War will get to live out the adage that one ought to be careful what one wants in case those wishes come true. [...]
Thx, John. Your Churchill quote is wrong, btw (an oft-repeated myth). Here's his talk at Harrow:

Most of Europe couldn't fund a Cub Scout troop, let alone the massive amount of funding a real standing military needs. They're so deeply financially entrenched in social programs that they can't spare a dime. France, Germany, and Italy consistently break the E.U. rules they helped write concerning how much of a deficit they can run every year.
This of course doesn't mean that Europe shouldn't look after their own defense. Maybe if we hadn't been spending our money to protect them for as long as we have they'd be a little wiser in the ways of the real world and wouldn't be so quick to condemn us for the amount of money we spend to field our own military.
Boy, there certainly is a lot of vitriol in these comments! How sad for us all.
—- we shipped weapons to Afghanistan and Saddam —
Same old lefty lies. Saddam got NO weapons from the US legally. None. I was in Desert Storm and memorized their equipment — ALL Russian. Just stop lying troll.
I served under Reagan – a President who revered the only and unchanging Bill of Rights – I too am thrilled that he was able to get the Wall torn down. It was great to know that our Eastern European friends were finally free. God Bless the Czecks, the Poles, the Hungarians, Romanians, Bulgarians, Albanians, Latvians and Lithuanians. May we all live in Freedom and Peace.
Geez, don't apologize. They bought him. They get what they deserve.
Of course Obama does not want to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall. His side lost…

No apology needed. Those of us in Europe with a sense of history and decency remember the great sacrifices made by America in WW II and the great efforts to keep the Soviets at bay. Likewise some of us understand that the effort in Iraq and Afghanistan is not about installing a friendly tinpot dictator, but about giving those people the freedom to choose for themselves. If we want to complain about venal and grandstanding politicians, we have to look no further than our own parliaments, especially that monstrosity called Brussels.
Here is to hoping that the US quickly recovers and finds the road to freedom again. It will be a more difficult task to get us in Old Europe to do the same; perhaps with the aid of New Europe. For me America is still that 'Shining City on the Hill'.
"Screw B-Daddy and his CZars and all the little leftards with their hands out looking for a free lunch, your days are numbered."
Sadly, they are not numbered. They are the face of America for a long-time. They will eventually go, but stil only distant memories of the great American experiment in freedom, independence, and self-reliance will remain. We will have become and forever wil be a statist nation. Perhaps the future holds another such bright star that will someday flash across the sky, only to leave darkness again in its wake.

You're always welcome to this country Daran.
God bless you for your service.
Andy 45, I feel your pain, sort of. There is a strange dichotomy there. They largely fancy themselves superior, but they admire and kind of love us too. In the early 80s, the Coke a Cola slogan was "Drink Coke, It's American". Of course, my apology was intended to be a bit snarky. I am sure that most patriotic Americans when considering for whom to vote for President of the U.S. couldn't give a crap what preference Europeans had, but clearly the youth vote went for Obama. Now there is a segment of our body politic who may care what Europeans think as many are prone to silliness due to leftist indoctrination on our College campuses. So perhaps the Europeans influenced the election and therefore they get to share the blame.
Ok deadpan227, have you ever heard that line sung by IZ in his version of "Somewhere over the rainbow"? It is in the movie 50 First Dates but not on the soundtrack. Listen to that version while contemplating those imprisoned behind that Wall. Powerful! It is one of my favorite tunes.
Room 237, I appreciate your point. International diplomacy however is tricky. Picture that oft repeated scene in the movies where the bad guy is cornered, but he holds a gun to the head of a sympathetic figure. Russia is the bad guy. Our missile defense system in Europe is like holding all of the damsels and good guys out of reach of the tyrant.
You are rather "hedgy" Alexander. Please point to a "slippery fact" "not really backed up". Here is another article o Putin's wealth; made the way many libs make it; ill gotten through government spoil systems: http://weltpolitik-blog.blogspot.com/2007/12/is-p...
