Countering Al Gore’s 24 Hours of Climate Panic

He’s broadcasting on his cable channel, Current TV, and online something he calls “24 Hours of Reality,” beginning at 7 p.m. CDT, Wednesday, September 14.
Gore will show a new multimedia presentation attempting to “connect the dots between recent weather events” and man-caused global warming. He has promised that 95 percent of the slides are new and different from those he showed in his Oscar-winning film, An Inconvenient Truth – which is a good thing, considering that film has since been exposed as fraudulent in many respects.
But the truth is, Gore can’t handle the reality that thousands of reputable scientists across the globe have rejected his dogmatic view of climate catastrophe. Those scientists have done the kind of hard scientific work that The Heartland Institute has presented in six conferences, dozens of papers and books, podcasts, videos, and in Environment & Climate News.

The Earth is warming up. The rate of warming has increased in the past century or so. This corresponds to the time of the Industrial Revolution, when we started dumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases warm the planet (hence the name) — if they didn’t we’d have an average temperature below the freezing point of water. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas which is dumped into the atmosphere by humans to the tune of 30 billion tons per year, 100 times the amount from volcanoes. And finally, approximately 97% of climatologists who actually study climate agree that global warming is real, and caused by humans.

Actually there were numerous articles about one report which various blogs on the right jumped on to claim that it showed that global warming was affected by solar activity even though the actual report didn't come to that conclusion.

It doesn't matter what the temperature of the earth is supposed to be. The important factor is the rate of change and whether it will be too quick for nature (including humans) to adapt.
I was growing up and going to university in the 70's and there was no claim that we were going to be frozen neanderthals soon. They were merely pointing out that we were generally in a natural cooling phase that has been greatly overwhelmed by the unnatural (man made) warming trend that we are seeing now.

Climate change skeptics also have their own petition, commonly called the Oregon petition, that has been endorsed by 31,000 signers opposing restrictions on carbon emissions. But that petition has been criticized for not checking the credentials of its signatories or even proving that all the signatories exist.
Why am I not surprised?
The Cern scientists were gagged from drawing any conclusions because such heresy is politically incorrect. The DATA shows that cosmic radiation has a more profound effect on temperature fluctuations (warming AND cooling) than had been previously thought.
We have always known that our Sun is not a constant star and sun spot activity correlates with warming and cooling. But, unlike the warmest, a real scientist knows that correlation does not prove causation. There is more to learn.
The Cern study showed that cosmic radiation, not just from the Sun, but from anywhere in the universe can affect our global temperatures by as much as 2-3 degrees. !! That's WAY more than CO2, man-made or not, affects temperature and even the warmest scientists admit that.
This is why the science is NOT settled……….it never is. We need to learn more before we let guys like Gore con us!!!!!
