I Condemn the NAACP: It Has Lost its Way
by Jimmie L. Hollis
I condemn the NAACP. I am afraid I am not at all surprised at their actions at their annual convention. They have become a political organization for the progressives, and that is a shame because so many blacks still view them as a civil rights group.
Unfortunately, this is a status they abandoned a long time ago.

"I condemn the NAACP"
As we all should. Identity politics, let alone progressive identity politics have no place in any perceived civil rights group or in this country period. Respect is earned after all, not demanded!
What now do they have left to stand for I wonder…???
Obama has done wonders for race relations ….blacks , latinos and muslims…thank God this wonderful, intelligent man …..
It was about "Civil Rights" until the objective was gained. But those who used their power for good could not let go of the The Ring and it has corrupted them thoroughly. It is about power, not equality; abuse and graft, not opportunity.
And they still have no freaking idea where wealth really comes from. Well, yeah, they do. It comes from shaking down those who produce something other than vitriol and division.
The NAACP and the Black Panther, and I'm pretty sure every other black racists group out there have been given a pass by this entire administration! Even tho there are supposed to be 'white people' associated with the NAACP, there is NO EXCUSE for the racism coming from a group that should be promoting racial equalities!
The Black Panthers on the other hand, are a black terrorists group threatening EVERY white person in the USA!!!
More like a civil "WRONGS" organization. Way to go Obama and crew for ripping America apart at the seams. The NAACP has lost all credibility and should either disolve or be investigated by the IRS. They are a seperatist group and should be labled as such.
Ad nauseum! …I agree with all post, the point has been made abundantly…good work!
AT some point, any organization becomes irrelevant when its actions and positions become so utterly predictable as to have no impact. I seriously doubt anyone will base his opinion of the tea parties on the pronouncements of the NAACP. In fact, I will go further and claim no one will base his opinion on any pronouncement of the NAACP unless he were only looking to have his opinion validated by the NAACP.
I want to know why homeland security isn't hunting these black panthers down? Perhaps the Tea Party groups should demand protection from these racist groups. Especially with the march going on in DC next month. They plan on going as well. I'm going……. and I demand protection.
No one seems to care about our safety, we need to demand protection from these racist groups.
Someone, I don't know who, said, "Every 'great cause' starts out as a movement, evolves into a business, and finally degenerates into a racket." All the "great causes" – civil/voting rights, environmentalism, feminism – have degenerated into "rackets" full of shrill "rent seekers", hucksters, and grifters seeking to gain personal power and extort money from businesses and the feckless rich attempting to soothe their consciences.
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People – while I am sure they reach out to the hispanic's because I have seen them pander that "brown skin" group, buy why don't they have any hispanics within the ranks of their top power players?…. Are they a racist organization?
Good question Stan!
I, too, condemn the NAACP for aiding and abetting the liberal progressives in destroying the values and the moral fiber of this nation and the people of all colors who built it
They repudiate the "racist elements" in the Tea Party. That's fine. The Tea Partiers also repudiate the racist elements. We also repudiate the racist elements within the NAACP, and they should repudiate them as well. They didn't come out and say that the entire Tea Party movement was racist, and there are bound to be racist elements to a movement that now includes more than 30% of the American public, so they didn't lie.
That said, it's a blatant attempt to deflect the debate from what's relevant. The crappy economy, the rising debt, deficit, unsustainable entitlements, and the growth of our federal government. The NAACP is too shallow and dull to address those things. Instead, they issue thoughtless Democratic Party line articles like this:
http://unrepentanttepartier.blogspot.com/2010/07/...
I don't begrudge them this attempt to latch onto the Tea Party to gain some relevancy. They're a dinosaur, and they need funding. Attacking the Tea Party might get them a few donations. But, ultimately, they're irrelevant. Keep the conversation economy and the debt.
Fred
Most Americans are patriots and love there country. The left is gushing on this race card thing and it won't work. Thank you for standing up and delivering what is right. God Bless
I'm afraid I don't know who said that, but Thomas Jefferson had something prescriptive to say on the same topic. Something about a tree, and the proper care thereof.
They've been given their marching order from this administration. They've been told to push in the hope some fool will push back too hard….
Either Ob*ma and his regime are sympathetic to the NAACP, the BlacKlan, etc., or they fear alienating their racist base by doing their job.
The evidence is in favor of the former, what with the well-worn spots in Rev. Wright's hate-pews.
If it's the latter case, they're not sympathetic, just pathetic.
HSA has their blinders on, and the only people they're looking at is us….
The NAACP refuses to see that the equality that they have achieved is being reversed by the leftists, and this Administration in order to use Race just to win elections.
I think the quote runs along the lines of, "The Tree of Liberty must be watered at times with the blood of tyrants and patriots." Many "progressives" would regard this as a "highly inflammatory" – no?
To be sure. But then again, "progressives" regard liberty as highly inflammatory.
Thank you Mr. Hollis for standing on principle and values.
The sad thing is, the NAACP still has very important work it could and should be doing. African Americans in this country are in trouble. The culture of government dependence and hip hop nonsense is doing harm to the community. The NAACP should focus on getting more young black men into college and out of prison. Young black women should be edified, not made into baby mamas and 'bitches'.
The focus on the alleged racism of the Tea Party is akin to Chicken Little. Screaming 'racism' where it does not exist lessens the impact of calling it out where it does exist. Come on, NAACP you're better than this.
Kind of makes you want to sail off to some uninhabited island and leave the hucksters behind, doesn't it?
Oh, so sorry; Reagan told us that America is the last stand for freedom. 'Guess he's travelled a bit, which means that we just have to stand and fight.
Correct me if I'm wrong, dear mom, but "The NAACP and the Black Panther, and I'm pretty sure every other black racists group" IS this administration…….
Recall that "reparations don't go far enough" and 'We're going to fundamentally transform this country" and "Change". Now that we know it all equates to screwing over Cracker, well there you go….
"Sometimes one just needs to step aside at the moment when the pusher is putting his weight into it, and let said pusher fall into the abyss that he has you backed up against."
-from 'The Art of Thgilful Defense'……
Obama lied and the much anticipated joining of America died.
A little kick in the ass, as they go by, will add to their momentum….
Not to mention the personal satisfaction factor ; )
sarc?
They're done. All that's left is to stick a fork in them….
you betcha!….thought that was obvious , thanks for asking…wow just saw all the negative numbers…it was a sick joke , look around at all the R-words flying around, lawsuits against AZ by our government….Obama is on the verge of purposefully igniting a race war…..race relations are a bad as I remember,,,and I remember Watts…and was in and around Oakland during the real Panther era… we aren't there yet but there is something very ugly going on today..
Thanks for your input Jimmie…
I didn't condemn them, but did recommend they go to hell. Why? Because when a people continue to spew vitriol, then eventually that hate turns into an evil living organism, and IMO, that's where the NAACP are now!
You are not wrong! That's the scary part! We have an administration that is inciting race violence….He has made it very bad, for any other respectable black man to get into the White House, because of his racism…This country was willing to give him a chance to prove he could make a difference and the only difference he has made, has been to cozy up to the violent blacks!
They're not interested in improvement…only POWER!!
Thank you, Mr. Hollis, for condemning this action by the NAACP.
I was always taught by my parents to never hate, and to treat all human beings equally, regardless of race, gender, religion, ethnicity, etc. As a result, my friends have always been what my parents called "The U.N.": Jewish, Canadian/Puerto Rican, Chinese, Korean, black, Indian, white (Italian, Polish, Irish, Heinz 57, etc.). Even my daughters' friends are not all white: black/white mix, Indian, Mexican-American, Asian and white. Not only that, but kids with parents of a differing political party (yup, some of my neighbor friends vote – egad! – Democrat!).
Whenever I hear those words by MLK, Jr., see what he went through to bring civil rights to blacks in this country, it makes me cry. It makes me cry because he did so much and after he died, they spit on his grave and turned to violence and victimhood. They gave into the Left, let the Left use them, and now they are reaping what they have sown – a community frought with all kinds of problems, including unwed mothers, gangs and drugs. Not all, of course, but I live in the L.A. area so I am not blind.
When I hear that disgusting man from the NBPP speak, it sickens me. Absolutely sickens me, as much as watching someone from the Klan speak, or even listening to Muslims speak about the West and other non-Muslims. It's nothing but HATE and it disgusts me to my very core.
We must stand together against this hate, as MLK, Jr. did – peacefully, in unity. And then we will prevail. Love will conquer all.
THANK YOU, Mr. Hollis, for standing up for TRUTH. God Bless You!!!
I have thanked everyone who has posted a message on Big Government that Condemns the NAACP and their actions against the Tea Party. I will CONTINUE to thank each and every HUMAN BEING that condemns the NAACP for their actions. It is also good to know that Black People especially are standing up for TRUTH and EQUALITY by condemning them, because quite honestly, I do not believe the Black Community will be shown the truth unless it is from Black leaders who care about the Truth. I do not believe that the Black community will believe the Tea Partiers over the NAACP. Admittedly, the Tea Partiers are mostly white, and the Black leadership that has been listened to for so many years, like the Sharptons and Jacksons, have steered the Black Community AWAY from the TRUTH, and it is up to this New Black Leadership, that surely believes in TRUTH and EQUALITY to teach the Black Community that they have been bamboozled by their current mainstream leaders for so long, and steer them BACK TO THE TRUTH. I am so grateful for these wonderful HUMAN BEINGS! I am grateful for these GOOD SOULS! Hopefully ALL the Racial Tensions caused by Terrible deeds in the distant past, and some not so distant, will fall to the wayside along with RACISM ITSELF, and we can ALL live together as Americans, Human Beings and Children of the Lord in Happiness and prosperity. But it will take a long hard fight to the TRUTH. Just because someone says they're telling the Truth, does Not make it so, and instead of simply believing these liars and hustlers OF ALL COLORS, we have to find out what the TRUTH really is, and then act accordingly. We must all also ACCEPT the Truth as it comes.
So I stand together with these brave and honorable SOULS, who condemn the NAACP, and more importantly Racial Divisiveness, and will continue to do so until ALL HUMAN BEINGS ARE SEEN AS THEY ARE…. EQUAL.
