The Occupy Black Friday goons called Walmart customers “whores” while they were out shopping.
The Occupy protesters were handing out “Don’t be a CUMsumer whore” fliers to the shoppers.

A group of us from Occupy Wallstreet begin to protest the mindless consumerism being displayed on black friday at WalMart locations across the country. Join us as we engage and disrupt corrupt capitalism!
Although on private property, once a transaction is completed, the property on your person belongs to you. stopping you at the door after you have completed your purchase to check through through your personal property is “unreasonable searches and seizure”. There is also an issue of unlawful detainment.
If there is a question of security, it should be done before the purchase and only of items that are owned by the store. Logically, there is no difference between checking your bags (your property) or your purse (your property). No American should be subjected to unreasonable search and seizure.
And, these loons were wondering why the cops were following them out of the store?

As for the stores being allowed to stop you before you leave, they do have a right to make certain that you paid for what you are taking. If you ask me, the odds are that the Occupiers are the kinds of people who do shoplift on a regular basis. Anyone who believes that the free market system should be brought down and wealth redistributed, is likely already taking a five-finger discount and redistributing some store's property to themselves.

I used to be surprised at the hypocrisy of liberals. Not so much anymore, because it's less and less hypocrisy and more & more just ignorance/indoctrination in schools. I find it mildly amusing that the "Occupy" movement draws its main name from the root word for "Occupation," something the vast majority of the movement's members appear not to have.
The count for offenses on the rap sheet is up to 333. That will definitely influence a lot of people, but not in the way the flea baggers would like.
Tie them up in front of a small pile of x-boxes at Wal-Mart. Then announce over the PA that the x-boxes are $2 each, only-while-supplies-last, first-come/first served.
The results would not be pretty for the Occupiers, but it would be a just and fitting end for them.

The other night I was looking at the businesses they planned to occupy. I read the comments section of an article about who they wanted to occupy and someone asked why not this company or that company, so I decided to see what the companies on the list had in common. Wait for it….no unions. There were a few that were unionized, but the majority…no unions. No shocker there.

Now that you mention it, I too obsessed about sex when I was in my early teens and still a virgin. Once I got my ashes hauled I became much more relaxed and didn't feel the urgency anymore. Try being at Church on Thanksgiving. The Mass at my Catholic Church was not a regular Mass. During the readings, the Washington Thanksgiving Proclamation was read, as well as the Lincoln Proclamation, a portion of Deuteronomy, as well as a portion of the Gospel. Interspersed between the first three, we sang verses of "America the Beautiful". During the homily, the priest – a man who was born in England and emigrated here in his 20s – talked about giving thanks, and how his 2 favorite American holidays were July 4th and Thanksgiving. There was nothing remotely political about what was said, or what was sung.

After the homily, as the priest was making his way back to his seat, a young man stood up about 4 rows behind us and started speaking. At first, I thought, "Is this part of the Mass?", but then quickly realized that it wasn't. He started talking about how "nationalism" should not be part of the Mass and that it made him "frightened". Then someone called out "Sit down!" and a gentlemen who appeared to be one of the readers, but who also looked like unofficial security, got up from his seat and confronted the young man, calmly asking him to stop and to leave. The young man did, and then a girl who was sitting with him, stood up in her hoodie (yeah respectful to have a hoodie on your head during Mass), and said "There are protests going on all over." But the same "security" guy spoke quietly to her and she sat down and was quiet for the rest of the Mass. I noticed right after that that an older woman (in her 50s) who was sitting across the aisle from me but a couple of rows up. She turned around and gave the young girl a thumbs up.

After Mass I noticed that woman talking to some other people saying "He [referring to the young man who left] has the spirit of John the Baptist. Because I was with my kids and didn't want to start an incident, I muttered under my breath as I passed her "More like the spirit of Lenin."
I've never experienced anything like that in any church I have ever attended. Be on the look out in your churches and synagogues, folks. If they'll bother you at the Wal-Mart doing your Christmas shopping, they'll bother you anywhere.

You're right, HoosierHistorian. The Fourth Amendment prohibits police from searches without "probable cause," but does not address private security measures against shoplifting (the "preventative measures" for overreach in such instances could include prosecution for assault if a store detective stopped the wrong person, found no unpaid-for goods, and had forcibly searched that person). Store security almost always watches the actual act of shoplifting, knows exactly where the stolen item(s) are tucked away, and follows the shoplifter just outside of the store to make an "apprehension," then summon police to make an arrest.
