TPM Muckraker Comes Clean: Admits Their Blogger Is Suspected Carnahan Firebomber

Far Left website TPM Muckraker took the offical walk of shame today and admitted that one of their unhinged bloggers was arrested for firebombing Congressman Russ Carnahan’s office. The suspected firebomber blogs at TPM under the name “Ripper McCord.”

TPM reported:
Rep. Russ Carnahan (D-MO) confirmed in a press conference yesterday that the suspect in an alleged arson at Carnahan’s campaign office is a former paid campaign worker named Chris Powers.
Powers has not been charged in the arson case. In a phone interview this morning with TPMmuckraker, Powers denied having any involvement with what local reports have described as a “fire bombing.”
“I’m innocent,” Powers said. “I was at home when Congressman Carnahan’s office was fired on. I have nothing to do with it.”
In the early morning hours of Aug. 17, someone broke a back window in Carnahan’s St. Louis campaign office and set a small fire, which caused minor damage in the office. Police arrested a suspect some hours later. They released him the next day, but have not divulged the suspect’s name. Police say it is up to the prosecutor’s office whether to issue a warrant; without it they can’t hold a suspect or release his name.
Powers’ identity was first reported yesterday by the St. Louis blog Gateway Pundit. After the claim gathered steam online, Carnahan held a press conference and confirmed that Powers is a former campaign worker. Carnahan said Powers was paid as a canvassing worker for about a week, but was fired for “not doing his job.”
When TPM asked Powers if he was the person initially arrested by police, Powers referred us to his lawyer, who was not immediately available for comment.
As several blogs have reported, Powers wrote a reader blog at TPMCafe under the name Ripper McCord. (Any TPM reader can create a blog and comment on the site, and Powers is not affiliated with TPM.)
Of course, the fact that a leftie blogger is also a suspected firebomber surprises no one.
Don’t expect the state-run media to touch this with a ten-foot pole.

I am surprised everyday that passes without a left wing crazy becoming violent, even the left wing congressman put their hands on others and shout down and slap newspapers at people when questioned.
Only a true hater would take advantage of someone who was just doing his best to keep the people of the Jamahiriya informed of the progress of the Regime.

Don't expect liberal websites to trumpet the story either. I checked on DU for it again to see if this revelation would move them. The results were even more disappointing than before. Three thread. Two comments on one blaming "teabaggers" , no comments at all on the other two. And I could swear there were more comments a day or so ago. But hat cannot be, liberals would not sanitize their comments………… bbbbwwwaaaaahaaaaahaaaaa.

Because I do not think they have ever embraced the Constitution, our flag and the rest of the right wing conservative props! We see countless vids from TEA Parties, town halls etc where ppl are citing the Constitution, displaying relevant signs (unlike left ,with their nazi NWO etc propaganda) flying our flag proudly (again the left defaces it even going as far as burning it). This is the difference btwn them and us they hate the symbols and true patriotism of the US

The news media has a history of staying silent when they find out that these people are extreme liberals. First, the media jump the shark and blames it on Tea Party then once they find out who it was they go quiet and not apologize to the Tea Party. But that's OK. What will happen, when we are no longer able to blog?
We won't hear a peep about this thru the MSM. In fact, the collusion in the media was discernible years ago. I noticed by using that wonderful invention, the remote control. By flipping from network to network during the afternoon and evening news, it was easy to notice how the same stories were running at the same time, with the same canned commentary. By flipping fast enough it is possible to get the whole script from three different channels, and never miss a word.
Then there’s the talking heads. Mostly effeminate, with the same pitch and intonation, same accent and cadence. They’re interchangeable. The Networks could save a lot of money if they just canned the talkies, and went with CGI animated characters. Few would notice the change, or likely care, for that matter.

What did it take to make you change?
A felony (arson) was committed. This is not something someone needs to file charges on, the police automatically investigate and the DA brings charges as soon as who did it can be proven. Yet, the helpers there were seen throwing documents into the dumpster.
The DA and police should have stepped in immediately and seized those documents as possible evidence of the crime.
Apparently, it's not a hate crime if the victims are white. Unfortunately, that seems to be true. I have never seen a hate crime when the incident involved black on white crime. I really do not like hate crimes, the actual crime is the crime. The other problem arises from the Obama Administration and the Attorney General Eric Holder in their handling of the black panther voter intimidation case. Their reaction to the case condones the action.

To be honest, I don't think I've really changed all that much. I think the left left me, not the other way around.
I'm still a classical liberal at heart, I want to save the world. But I'm smart enough to realize when something doesn't work, you don't keep trying it over and over. And that's exactly the way the modern left operates. They don't care if something works or not. They don't care if makes things worse. All they care about is whether or not it makes them feel morally superior.
I've always enjoyed watching politics. Some people life to watch birds, others like car races, I watch politicians. On 9/11 it stopped being a hobby and became deadly serious for me. I live in upstate NY about 2 hours from NYC. In the aftermath and clean up my sister used to mike twice monthly runs down there with donations (dry food, latex gloves, shampoo, soap, surgical masks) for the clean up crews. My daughter was supposed to be down there a few weeks after 9/11 for a tour of the Statue of Liberty with her 4th grade class. They canceled.
The way democrats, liberals and the left in general has conducted themselves in the aftermath of that fills me with disgust. They're out right treason during the early years of the war was and is despicable. For me, the politics stops when American lives are on the line. And instead, they ramped it up. I'm done with those assholes.
I stumbled upon the Big sites while trying to figure out what the American right is, and while we don't agree on everything, I seem to get along fairly well with this virtual community. Mostly I hang out at Big Hollywood and Big Journalism, but its slow news days over there, so I followed a link to this one.
Politically I'm further to the right than conservatives. I'm a libertarian. And I'm happy to see, that while we don't always agree, conservatives at least understand libertarian thinking – to a point.
But I'm working on it.
The jornolists of to-day are so enamored of violence, plate glass, firebombing, etc. It is emblematic of their confused world view that their goon feelings are vented against Blanche Lincoln, Ben Nelson, Joseph Lieberman (remember the Lamont guy? Who was he, anyway?) for the inexcusable crime of trying to accomplish anything while they were supposed to be studying for purity tests. Carnahan fils is an absolute Missouri Machine hack, another lawyer. Who needs any of these clowns? Josh Marshall might be interviewed again perhaps once in the next 20 years when former ultra-secret superspy Val Plame launches her cooking website, and he can explain that important constitutional crisis for the benefit of young jornolists in training

That’s a great response, Ed. It brings up that all important issue of how political terms are “defined” and who defines them. I don’t care if it’s “left,” “right,” “conservative,” “liberal,” “libertarian,” etc. It’s all crazy because there are so many notions of what they mean.
When you say you’re a “classical liberal,” and a “libertarian,” I know what you mean, but how many people do? I could say that I’m a “conservative,” but I know most people will not have the same opinion of what I mean as I do. So how do you describe yourself with one of those words without giving some people the wrong impression?
I believe in the sovereign rights of the individual to make all personal decisions for their lives with minimal intrusion from the federal government. I also believe that States and localities have the right to pass laws governing the interaction of people living in those areas. Does that make me a libertarian? Or does it make me a conservative? Or is it a Constitutional conservative? I believe people have the right to interact with other consenting adults in whatever manner serves their best interests. Does that make me a classical liberal? Like I said, it all depends on who's defining the terms.
One of the things I like best about the term libertarians is, a libertarian, I refuse to allow anyone to define what I am. Individual freedom baby!
My definition of classic liberalism is along the lines of Adam Smith, James Madison, Ben Franklin, John Adams, and the rest. And that is, simply, government leaves We The People the hell alone. And I completely agree with that. But once the progressives sullied that term, people who think like I do moved on to the term libertarian. But its all subjective.
The reason I consider myself a libertarian is not because I think they have the best political ideology. I think they're best at realizing the reality we live in, and rather than view it in political terms, they view it as what doesn't work (stop it) and what does work (do more of it).
War on poverty? Poverty won. War on drugs? Drugs are kicking our ass. Both are products of gross abuse of authority the federal government is explicitly prevented from exercising by the constitution. And yet people continually call for more of same failure.

I completely agree with the idea of keeping the feds out of our affairs, except where they are given specific powers to act. They're the enumerated powers written into the Constitution. That's why I support the "Enumerated Powers Act." But the real challenge is that the areas the feds are already overstepping their authority are mind boggling. We have a Dept of Education, EPA, Energy Dept, FDA, Agriculture Dept, and on and on and on. In all these areas where power to regulate ourselves are supposed to rest with the States and the People, we've allowed a central government to take those powers away from us. We have a central government that's taken "ownership" of vast areas of land, and now ALL sources of water. They control the natural resources of the States and use illegitimate regulatory powers to dictate what the People are permitted to do with what they own.
If I had a favorite amendment to add to the Constitution, it would include a restriction of how the Commerce Clause could be used by the federal government. There's no doubt that among all the abuses of the Constitution perpetrated by the feds, this is the most egregious. At least then we wouldn't have to rely on the courts to determine whether or not the government had overstepped their bounds.

What Zombie does is infiltrate leftist protests and events and photographically documents what the MSM would never show.
I don't even know if its a 'her' or not, but at the last democratic convention in Denver Zombie said they charmed their way into the MSM media tent and used their wireless link to up load the pics. Which is why I think Zombie is a she.
I don't know of anyone who's doing this on the scale Zombie is, but if they're out there, Zombie's blog is where I'd start looking for it.
