NAACP President Tries to Weasel His Way Out of Controversial Attack on Tea Party Patriots
by Jim HoftNAACP President Ben Jealous just tried to weasel his way out of the unpopular, controversial, and obviously political resolution passed at the organization’s convention this week. The former civil rights group attacked and smeared the tea party patriots at their convention in Kansas City.
The Politico reported, via Free Republic:
NAACP President Ben Jealous said Thursday that the resolution passed by the group on Wednesday does not call the tea party “racist.”
The resolution the NAACP approved Wednesday at its annual conference in Kansas City alleges that the tea party has used racial epithets against President Barack Obama and has verbally and physically abused African-American members of Congress.
A portion of the resolution does indeed characterize the behavior as “racist,” but Jealous said Thursday during an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that the resolution was not intended to condemn the entire movement as such.
“We aren’t saying that the tea party is racist,” Jealous said. “What we’re saying is that with their increasing power comes an increasing responsibility to act responsibly…and to call out when they see those things on those signs.”
Jealous argued that racist groups have embraced the tea party movement and said that what the NAACP would like to see one of the movements leaders – whether it be former House Majority Leader Dick Armey or former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin – denounce those elements of the tea party.
“These sort of KKK type groups saying they like the tea party and want to be a part of it, it would just seem someone would call out and say we don’t want them to be a part of it,” he said.
Asked if he thought members of the tea party are racially insensitive, Jealous responded: “No, not at all.”
Unfortunately for Jealous, that is not what was reported on their awful resolution.
The KC Star reported:
The resolution, scheduled for a vote as early as Tuesday by delegates attending the annual NAACP convention in Kansas City, calls upon “all people of good will to repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties, and to stand in opposition to its drive to push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.”
Jealous better start getting his facts straight. You can’t have it both ways, Ben.
For the record… The former civil rights group does not even have the courage to post their resolution online.

The NAACP leftists really ought to clean up their own racist mess before they start pointing fingers.

Racism to the left is based on good intentions – kantian ethics. They intend to do good so any action they perform is good no matter how discriminatory it is. Ask any lefty what "social justice" is and how will it be implemented.
So a restaurant owner cannot decide who can come into their restaurant (unless you're black, gay, woman or lesbian) BUT the Negro College Fund can choose to give scholarships to ONLY black students and that's NOT discrimination. Curves can cater to ONLY women (as well as 100s of other women's only gyms) and that's NOT discrimination. Gays can have gay only softball teams, bars, clubs. Any charity that focuses on a particular community like hispanic charities only helping hispanics are not discriminatory? NOW only helping women is not discriminatory?
Its pretty clear the left needs to fix itself first. So if disagreeing with a president because he is black is racism then would blacks disagreeing with a white president be racism? If I disagreed with Condi Rice and I racist?

The former mainstream media will give Jealous a pass on his shameless rantings. $100,000 is not an insubstantial sum of money. Had the N word been directed to any black member of Congress at the 9/12 tea party in DC, that $100,000 would have long since been claimed by someone or multiple someones presenting incontrovertible evidence that it actually happened given the mega number of cameras, video crews, cell phones, etc that were on site. No one has, and, therefore, it's either a still unproven allegation or an outright lie perpetrated to cast dispersion on the tea party and garner support for the then pending vote on Obamacare. It obviously worked since Obamacare passed even though its passage appeared suspect until those allegations were made immediately preceding the vote and instantly and globally trumpeted as factual by the Obama networks.
This is but a similar attempt to cast tea party members and all who oppose Obama's policies and ideology as racists and move the outcome of this November's elections in the same direction as the November 2008 elections. Will it work? It's a certainty the former mainstream media will do everything it can to again pump up the volume on this pathetic, classless maneuver. Guess we'll have to check back the morning of November 3rd to find out if they were again successful.

Remember the images of a man in Phoenix carrying an AR-15 rifle and a holstered pistol outside a Chairman O. event? Unless you saw it on Fox, you weren't shown the full body of the man — only his guns. The reason the lame-stream media couldn't show you the full image is because the man was not white; he was black. Here in Arizona, we just have Americans. As Americans, we are allowed to carry weapons, too. The color of anyone's skin has never been an issue at any of the many events I've attended.
I've been to a number of Arizona's Tea parties. There has never been even the slightest hint of even unfriendliness, let alone a racial overtone. Tea parties are opportunities to meet your neighbors and fellow Americans. Along with being very peaceful and well organized, they're fun.

Don't we have far more important issues to concern ourselves with? I understand the frustation but c'mon, can we really be thrown off the track by a bloody bone?? This is bullcrap and we all know it – the financial reform bill which will 'effect every part of our lives' as quoted by dingdong dodd, IS a big deal! And considering that they don't even know what the hell they passed with this 2000+ page bill, I'd say it's a BIG f'ing deal!!!!!!!!!!

Why Racial Problems Exist in America
Marc Lamont Hill was on the O’Reilly Factor, July 14, 2010, and the discussion was on the NAACP calling the Tea-Party Protesters racists. Yet, the NAACP does not denounce the racist rhetoric coming from Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, or Samir Shabazz nor does Hill.
Hill claims he never heard anything racist from Jeremiah Wright and defends his First Amendment right to speak out. Try checking out videos of Wright on You-Tube.
Ben Jealous, President of the NAACP said,Tea-Partiers were carrying signs with slogans to lynch President Obama and lynch Eric Holder and the NAACP is calling for the Tea-Partiers to expel the racists. Hill said, a strong case can be made that racism exists in the Tea-Party, and those types of signs endanger the life of the President. O’Reilly said there is no evidence of the signs. Hill responded, “Just because you haven’t seen it” (the signs), implying just because you haven’t seen the signs doesn’t mean they don’t exist.” What??…
… Hill said the New Black Panther Party did not endorse the statement of Samir Shabazz calling for killing crackers and white babies. The action of what took place at that voting precinct was not even endorsed by the New Black Panther Party. When O’Reilly stated there are videos where Samir’s actions were endorsed, Hill claims he did not see that video.
Then he brings up the incident in Washington D.C. where several black Democrat representatives claimed they were called the N-word while walking through the crowd prior to the healthcare vote.These representatives made the false claim of being called the N-word. They are LIARS! They taped the whole walk. If they had anyone on the tape calling them the N-word, the so-call Main-Stream Media would loop it repeatedly. Instead, the media and Hill are perpetuating the lies. Remember, Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels said, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.” …
…Hill states, the NAACP is a black advocating organization, and if the point of the organization is to defend black people why should they be out there beating up on the New Black Panther Party. (Justifying voter intimidation and death threats). The NAACP is designed to protect people of color; it is for the advancement of colored people.

Apparently, the NAACP has forgotten their Mission and Vision statement….
…Marc Lamont Hill has a PH.D.(Piled High and Deep), and teaches African-American Studies at Columbia University. When he refuses to acknowledge racism coming from the NAACP, Farrakhan, Wright, Shabazz or Samir, you have to ask, who are the REAL RACISTS? You wonder why race relations are not improving when people like Hill have this kind of mindset. The bigger question is, “What is he teaching our children?”
