Barack Obama tripled the national deficit last year.
This year Barack Obama is on track to nearly quadruple Bush’s 2008 budget deficit.

But don’t worry.
Barack Obama called for a task force today to come up with a plan to curb his spiraling budget deficits.
He’s serious.
Breitbart reported:
President Barack Obama has endorsed a bipartisan plan to name a special task force charged with coming up with a plan to curb the spiraling budget deficit.
The bipartisan 18-member panel would study the issue for much of the year and report a deficit reduction blueprint after the November elections that would be voted on before the new Congress convenes next year.
Unlike a plan tentatively endorsed on Tuesday by the White House and Capitol Hill Democrats, the new task force would have to be approved by Congress, where there’s lots of opposition.
Here’s an idea…
If Obama really wanted to cut deficits he would eliminate the rest of the failed Stimulus package spending that is slated for this year and beyond.
Over $236 billion is scheduled to be spent this year alone.

If Barack Obama and democrats were really serious about cutting the national deficit they could admit that the Stimulus bill was a failure and cancel this year’s spending. But then again, Obama would really have to be serious about cutting the deficit.

Well, since the President can only do so much without the approval of Congress (who ultimately controls the purse strings), you also have to look at Congressional make-up.
Reagan had a Democrat controlled Congress. and during Clinton's so-called surplus years, he had a Republican controlled Congress. Also, during the years, of Bush's admin, the deficit was steadily decreasing right up until …. the Democrats took control of Congress in 2006.
If the Republicans wrest control of both houses this fall, I expect that Obama's deficits will drop much like Clinton's and Bush's did. Of course, you'll give Obama all the credit if that does happen.
Yeah, triple or quadruple (what makes the difference, really) the National Deficit and then cut the inflated deficit by 10% or even 20% and have the National Downstream Propaganda Media Machine nominate Barack H. Obama for Sainthood (he's already a Nobel Prize Winner, so what else would be fitting?) and we are still in debt for several upcoming generations, and that would be a best-case scenario.

I've tried explaining to people that presidents don't write the laws, Congress does. The Leftists and Statists will now try to either re-brand by assuming the moderate/populist mantles or once again crawl back into the institutional "woodwork" to accomplish the fulfillment of their ideology; they are counting on the "short-attention" span of the American people. By using their own words and actions against them, we must expose them for what they are and deny them the darkness of bureaucratic anonymity. If we can do that, the dawning realization and clear vision of the American people will continue to grow.
Obama's appointment of a task force signals that he knows he's spending money that doesn't exist, but like everything else related to his job as president, he is delegating the task of fixing his mess to others. Who, in turn, will blame Bush and add to the deficit while looking into cutting the deficit.
Tripling the deficit? What the hell are you talking about. The deficit was at $1.2 trillion when President Obama took office and is at $1.4 trillion now. I think you need to take a remedial math course.

Every time the federal government has entertained ways to reduce the deficit, it has NEVER happened that the government spending which creates these deficits is reduced. Homes were sold to buyers who could not qualify to buy a toaster on credit. Those sales, driven by the Community Reinvestment Act, compelled banks to lend monies to home buyers who could not possibly afford to pay the mortgage. Now that our govevernment manufactured crisis continues to create a worldwide financial meltdown, resulting in the selling of these mortgages as bogus security grade investments to investors around the world, we are again to believe that our government has the solution to reduce the skyrocketing deficit. The sad thing is that the p[oliticians in office have an insatiable appetite for the tax payers money, "reducing" the deficit by increasing government taxation upon the backs of the American taxpayers, in perpetuity.
We are the government's perpetual credit card, and they have unlimited power to charge us what ever they want, to reduce the deficit. When our elected representatives utilize our monies as the spoils of war to fund their ideological agendas, our democracy is squandered in the process. How long will we allow this to happen???

In fact, only a small portion of the fiscal year 2009 deficit is due to Obama's policies; in January, before he took office or signed any legislation, CBO projected that, based on policies set under President Bush and economic conditions at the time, the deficit for fiscal year 2009 would reach $1.2 trillion. I retired last year after 35 years in the Budget/Financial arena of the federal Government. I'd volunteer to go back to sit on this panel if I thought for one minute that they were serious about controlling spending. Anybody that presents reasonable ideas would be railroaded out.
I took an early retirement partly because many of my individual efforts to prevent fraud,waste and abuse fell on deaf ears. One more case of "eyewash" here.
Amassive reduction in Air Force One's budget would be a good start though. Future "Date Nights" would most definitely be out as well as two aircraft to Copenhagen.

If there is bill that is pork laden, I guarantee only Democrat pork will fry through. Republican pork will not be there for their constituency. The best move for Republicans is to prioitize their projects as I have to do by safety, health and welfare of the people, then, security. Leave out anything that resembles a project that can not be justified in two or three words. This is a ploy that will be used against the R group to minimalize them. They must understand that if they don't already. They must continue fighting against this health welfare bill to the unions, any bill favorable to just the unions, additional stimulus, crap and tax legislation, Stop trying to be friends with the Judas on the left.
I keep hearing "Congress makes the law" and "purse strings" yet we hear that "Obama" tripled the deficit. I guess you guys need to address the author of this blog.

In fact, only a small portion of the fiscal year 2009 deficit is due to Obama's policies; in January, before he took office or signed any legislation, CBO projected that, based on policies set under President Bush and economic conditions at the time, the deficit for fiscal year 2009 would reach $1.2 trillion. Boy you guys are good at fudging!!

I find the amount of spending slated for midyear 2010 interesting. I can hardly wait for those running in Nov. to start talking about all the "FREE MONEY" they got for their district.
