Martha Coakley Holds Rally at MLK Breakfast With Scott Brown Sitting In the Room — Brown Responds
by Jim Hoft“I certainly didn’t realize that this was a rally for Martha and I thought it was inappropriate that she was starting to ask for other people’s votes when we were trying to remember Martin Luther King Jr.”
Scott Brown
2010 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast
Boston, MA
Martha Coakley told attendees at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast this morning that, “Dr. King would be standing with me if he was alive today.” Scott Brown answered reporters while leaving the breakfast:
“I thought it was inappropriate to be politicking when we are trying to honor Martin Luther King today. I don’t have any comments on what it says about her. Right now I am not going to comment on anything political right now, we’re going to start campaigning in about a half hour… I certainly didn’t realize that this was a rally for Martha and I thought it was inappropriate that she was starting to ask for other people’s votes when we were trying to remember Martin Luther King Jr. …I don’t remember hearing anything about Martin Luther King except for minor references. “
Scott Brown attended the breakfast this morning but was not asked to speak.
Man, Scott Brown sure makes it look easy. This was perfect:
NECN Boston
By the way… Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece would likely disagree with Martha Coakley.
Life Site News reported:
On a day when Americans across the country are celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his desire to regard all people as Americans worthy of equal treatment, his niece says King’s dream, if announced today, would also include protecting unborn children from abortion.
Dr. Alveda King, today, is celebrating Uncle’s life and she said he would agree that, when it comes to treating all people with respect, that he would include babies before birth.
“Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke of a Beloved Community where all are treated with respect and dignity,” Alveda King told LifeNews.com today.
“He fought against society’s exclusion of people who were treated as less than human because of their appearance,” she added. “Today, we are compelled to continue Uncle Martin’s fight by standing up for those who are treated as less than human because of their helplessness and inconvenience.”
King told LifeNews.com, “The unborn are as much a part of the Beloved Community as are newborns, infants, teenagers, adults, and the elderly.”

Barack the Magic Lame Duck
Howard Dean and some of his supporters are trying to lose this election on purpose to hope to save their jobs.
I think the vast Independent/Conservative voters will swamp the Progressive tomorrow. The crude classless Progs have managed to enrage the majority of Americans!
It's obvious she's nervous. She doesn't even have the class to get thru a memorial breakfast with out pitching herself. Classless, shameless, and helpless…All the hallmarks of a good Liberal. Obama should be proud of himself for throwing his own butt under the bus for this grouse of a woman…
Makes me wonder if she is even capable of wiping her own a$$…?
Scott Brown is going to smoke "Marcia" Coakley like a cheap cigar.
After tomorrow…………………………no one will know what her name is.
I was impressed by Brown's answer. If it had been he vote begging like this on this occasion, the press, NAACP, Rev. Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the rest would have been screaming about his insensitivity. Since Coakley is a Democrat, nothing will be said about turning the occasion into just another political rally.
Here's hoping you are correct and that Brown doesn't just win, but wins by a landslide. It will a hoot watching to see how the Dems would spin that!
I would laugh at Coakley but she's just too pathetic. It is almost as if she is the white-female version of Maobama.
This idiot and the democratic party will have their ass handed to them tomorrow!! I can't wait to see what kind of tricks the democrats try to pull!!
"Dr. King would be standing with me"? … that took some balls….
She is a disgrace to all Americans. WAKE UP MASSACHUSETTS!!! This woman only cares about her political career and the Obama progressive agenda!!! She doesn't work for you!!! GO BROWN!!!!
I hope that the minority voters targeted by Obama and Coakley, et al, will realize that they are being "played."
I find it extremely offensive that Obama, who hasn't even joined a church in D.C., and who didn't celebrate Christmas, manages to stand up there in front of a predominantly Black Baptist church, sway to the music, and talk about "faith."
I so sincerely hope those people stop feeling excited to have been featured in his farce – and realize that they were USED like a paper towel.
More disgraceful for her that her ardent supporter that tried to attend Clinton' rally for her was not allowed in because he is an Iranian American. They are shooting themsleves in the foot-head-arse every day out of desperation. Oh, she did not even attend that rally. What an insult to Clinton….LOLOL

Just like the Jerry Jones scum of the earth massacre of the Dallas Cowboys by the Minnesota Viking yesterday, you will see tomorrow that the Progressive Democrat Communist Marxists will be Beaten to a PULP by Americans coming together as a TEAM, to begin Slaughtering the Demons of the World.
Extra absorbent like Viva.
God bless Dr. Alveda King for having the courage to say what I always believed Dr. Martin Luther King would have believed…that we are ALL created equal…black, white, red, yellow…born and UNBORN. This fine lady obviously has her priorities straight!
Too funny. Check it out.
You answered your own question: " She is an obvious example of the result of political inbreeding. "
A lot of Libturds approve of inbreeding .Keep it in the family.
Dr. Alveda better be careful or the will label her as racist and sexist! Crazy right-wing nut defending unborn babies! Doesn't she know that they are "undifferentiated masses of tissue" or at best a "fetus"? If they were really human beings wouldn't they be alive and able to read this post (eventually).
I'm sure if JFK were alive today he would also approve of sky-rocketing taxes, unfunded mandates and a worldwide apology tour. Hi-jack the icons of the past and distort what they stood for? What's dishonest about that? After all, I'm sure Lincoln was a secret Democrat whose only motivation for freeing the slaves was so that 100 years later Republicans could be tarred with the label "racist". See how clever these people are!
LOL…That's an angle I haven't thought of. Good point!
! ! ! and another one bites the dust!
So was Lincoln but that didn't stop the libocrats from invoking him.
Class-less people make class-less comments at just exactly the wrong time. Obama's sock puppet is wet, dirty and a loser.
Nah, she'll still have her current job to embarrass herself with. Not many Pols will risk losing the power they have unless they think they can get even more.
At least the national scene
It will take a landslide to prevent the Frankenvote recount.
Obama will triumph a Coakley victory as a referendum on his bloated heathcare bill. Of course her defeat would mean the opposite to a sane person but not to Obama. He'll carry on with business as usual and ram his heathcare bill down our throats regardless. 2012 can get here soon enough.
Brown had better win by a landslide because if he doesn’t, they WILL cheat just like they did in MN, OR, WA and elsewhere. Anytime the vote is close and Dems are the election apparatus, they have shown thenmselves to be cheaters. Disenfranchise the military, recruit convicts, illegals and dead people. Recount until you have enough to win and if need be find some previously lopst votes in the basement. Hard to believe but true. If I were a Democrat, it would be very hard these days for me to have self respect knowing that my party had become so corrupt. In the end though, the GOP is not much better. I pray for America and the world for that matter to repent and let God fix it but I know they won’t. So I pray for the soon coming of the divine King to take the throne and lead us to peace for we cannot have success or peace or honesty until he does. Be on Jesus side or be gone. He’ll be here soon! Are you ready???
Brown’s response was just right. The Dems showed a huge amount of disrespect for King by turning a memorial event into a political rally. But that is SOP for Dems.
It was also an insult to those who were there to pay their respects to King’s memory.
Shameless Jackarses……..The people will speak 1/19/2010 just as they will in Nov. 2010 and in 2012.
Who is surprised at this? Ultra Liberal = NO CLASS
Oh man! Scott Brown seems to have the “Oh snap!” come-back to everything thrown his way! Hopefully 75% of those that attended will realize how uber-creepy it was for her to throw out a shameless plug while at a ceremony for one of America’s finest, and they’ll vote for Brown! I’ll be glued to my computer tomorrow at work, following this race until its finished!
This is not too comforting:
Washington Alert:
January 18th, 2010, Woburn, MA—116, 483 registered Massachusetts voters are dead, according to an analysis conducted by Aristotle International, Inc. a software and digital database developer.
As reported by CNS News, “In Massachusetts, 116,483 registered voters are dead, 3.38 percent of the state’s total of registered voters. Another 538,567, or 15.6 percent, had moved to an area outside of where they are registered to vote.”
Looks like a perfect scenario for Acorn to start their dirty tricks.
She actually had her campaign paraphernalia and strategy in place before Kennedy died – she was out and declared running two days after his death, slogans, bumper-stickers and all.
"Dr. Alveda King, today, is celebrating Uncle’s life and she said he would agree that, when it comes to treating all people with respect, that he would include babies before birth."
Thank you Dr. King – one of the many dirty little secrets of this "Healthcare Sham" and Democrat Party in general is their unabashed support for eliminating lives – often the unborn of minority women – in the womb.
There is a sickening genocide taking place everyday – all across our nation. If we don't value innocent life how can these neo-Marxists value the lives of your elderly parents, or even you life – if a bureacrat is making these "life & death" decisions.
Obamacare – of the lobbyist – by the lobbyist – for the lobbyist, ask Martha (Marcia) Coakley.
Obamanomics – good for lobbyists, rich bankers and "friends of Obama".
You forgot "hopeless, and changeless"
"Dr. King …. would be standing here with me…" ??? Aside from the fact that it was a service in his memory, MLK certainly wouldn't use a memorial service to promote even an important issue, let alone to hawk a political candidate.
[...] on Coakley and MLK breakfast: Jim Hoft, Big Government: Martha Coakley Holds Rally at MLK Breakfast with Scott Brown Sitting In the Room — Brown Respo… National Review Online: Classy Martha Stumps For Votes at Nonpartisan Martin Luther King Day [...]
Martha or "Marcia" is a complete moron even by liberal standards. She's starting to make Biden look intelligent.
I think Nancy Psychosi, Barbara Boxhead and "Your Dime" Feinstein recommended her.
Paul Wellstone anybody?
Martha Coakley, or is it Margret (as per Kennedy ), is another communist with no brains and no shame.
yup. Photograph everything Bay Staters, photograph everything!
Massachusetts, elect Scott Brown and we're one step closer to freedom. Send a message to the tyrants in DC.
Yup. Pimp the message, bang the Marxist drum, never let up.
The woman is the epitome of the self-absorbed, win-at-all-costs, clueless and classless political hack against which America is finally turning.
I don't believe for a minute that Dr. King would have wanted anything to do with her: http://tinyurl.com/yebyv8c
Someone needs to remind Coakley that MLK was a republican and would never be standing with her or her policies!
Yay, Dr. Alveda King! Way to witness to the dignity of ALL people! Beautiful comments!
After tomorrow, no one will CARE what her name is.
FIFY
More like Charmin.
I am hoping for a Boston Tea Party tomorrow.
Yes, that whole Church scene made me throw up in my mouth a little. He couldn't be stirred to hold the traditional prayer breakfast, but he can sure be "spiritual" and a "man of faith" now. The media brown nosers refuse to see it, too.
Because a capable politician would likely also have their own agenda that may or may not coincide with that of her "betters" in the party. A braindead, mouth-breathing follower can be expected to vote how she is told without all the political wrangling it took to strong-arm Nelson and Landrieu into a yes. Too much of that kind of thing is bad for the public perception, you understand.
You beat me to it.
As Mr. Reid painfully made us aware of…He does have a negro dialect when needed…And that can extend way past just the dialect…wink wink…
Too true. Brown better be well lawyered up and the party better be prepared to back him to the hilt.
OK everyone don't get over confident. Remember it ain't over until the last Democratic lawyer is done trying to steal the election. Al Franken come to mind ,,,,,,,The Democrats are the lowest form of life even an amoeba has more character,
Hear hear!!
Ah, the cemetary constituency. The heart and soul of the Democrap party.
She does a great job with "Priests for Life" but the media generally ignores her.
Here's hoping some mighty, mighty ACORNs are aborted at the polls, trampled to shreds and eaten by baby squirrels. Chop the cOAKley down and shout "TIMBER"!!!
"Martha Coakley told attendees at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast this morning that, “Dr. King would be standing with me if he was alive today.”
Nice of ya, Martha, making an 81 year old man with severe spinal injuries stand for your photo op.
What do you expect from the same bunch who turns funerals into political rallies.
If Dr. King were standing with "Marcia" Coakley today………………………he'd probably have his boot on her throat.
Class act that Scott Brown!
Just like they got a pass with the Paul Wellstone funeral. The Dems always know how to keep it classy….
I think there are going to be a LOT of lefty statist Dems in that boat, come November…
Statists use Campaign Volunteers for that…
BRILLIANT! HUZZAH!
A +1 for you…!
when lib politicians realize they will be out of jobs, they will throw BHO under the bus..it may start sooner than expected.
Here it comes!!!! Black voter fraud, and NO questions will be 'axed" by the MSM.
Ha ha! Note to Martha…you can buy elections but you can't buy class!
I agree, I also wrote today about Democrats not living up to The Dream. President's "acted stupidly" comment is well remembered in Massachusetts. You can read my take if you click on my name. In short: Everybody who believes that the election of Barack Obama is historical just because he is black is not fulfilling Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream.
Stay classy, Marcia!
I was worried about this guy. But he says all the right things at the right times. I just hope he's not jobbing us.
Crikey, I'd forgotten all about that shameless debacle. Thanks for the reminder.
Would anyone care if Jesse Jackson was standing with her? Jackson marched at Selma. He organized boycotts. He did everything Dr. King did for civil rights. If he was standing where Dr. King was when James Earl Ray took his shot, federal workers would be getting Jesse Jackson Day off at taxpayer expense and Dr. King would be hustling for Rainbow/PUSH. Coakley wouldn't want him anywhere near her until she ran for President and needed the Black Vote.
Not to mention more integrity, intelligence, common sense, honesty, compassion….did I miss anything?
Troll, get yourself to some racist site where you can slobber with your buddies.
Reminds me of that Minnesota Senator guy Paul(a) Poundstone's funeral.
You know, I'd take a moment to be shocked and disgusted by Marcia trying to pimp out MLK on MLK day, if I weren't so burned out and numb from being shocked and disgusted at the unending witlessness that's manifest in her campaign and in the ridiculous things that come out of her mouth. I imagine her yearning to be done with this and shrink into oblivion in humility, but she doesn't appear to be the slightest bit self conscious, not the slightest bit.
I'm simply astounded. I can't even believe it. Looking forward to reading about this campaign for years to come.
Martha Coakley is a presumptuous self-absorbed politition in the vein of her king, Obama. Hopyfully after a humiliating loss to a republican in Massachusetts she will fade from the scene forever.
Bullseye!
Kind of like Kennedy boozers and druggies, right?
There is nothing dishonest about it. We've been distorting the figures of the past for generations in our country's history. Such as the infamous and false story of George Washington cutting down a cherry tree, and the false story of Betsy Ross creating the American Flag. So what is one more distortion amongst so many others.
And the civil war was not really about slavery; but the fact that he didn't want to be known as the President that lost the union. If it was then why did the first proclamation only free slaves south of Maryland? When it was a known fact that Maryland did have slave holdings at that time. There are more facts involved in many things aside from race. But in my opinnion all history is propaganda written by the victors.
Especially since Dr. King was a republican.
There has to be millions of highly qualified, capable, extraordinary, women in America. How and why in the world did the Democrats tap Coakley? She is an obvious example of the result of political inbreeding.
This is to very true, they would have been all over the media demonizing Brown.
Marcia…Marcia….Marcia!
"There has to be millions of highly qualified, capable, extraordinary, women in America. How and why in the world did the Democrats tap Coakley?"
Because none of them are Democrats, apparently.
To say the civil war wasn't about slavery is both right & wrong. It was a huge part of the reason for secession, but it wasn't the only reason. When people say "STATES RIGHTS!" was the reason, ask yourself, what was the state right that was so damn important to the South? The answer to that is the ability for an individual state to determine whether or not it would be a slave state. (ever heard of the Missouri Compromise?) The Southerners truly believed that without slavery they would become economically dominated by the north, which was possibly true considering the vast majority of the voting populous were from the North, and the vast majority of industrialization occurred in the North, and Southerners felt that their industry (agriculture) was being exploited by those Northerners who needed cheep raw material. Southerner's also believed that it was nobody from New York or Maine's right to tell them whether or not they could own slaves, or anything else for that matter that wasn't outlined in the Constitution.
You are right about history being written by the victors. But an embellishment here or there doesn't make the entire equation wrong, history is not mathematics. The fact of the matter is, George Washington was widely considered by his peers and everyone else to be nothing if not honest. The story about the cherry tree isn't true, but the moral of that story was, which IMO is all that matters. The fact of the matter is the emancipation proclamation was the first major political step taken to free the slaves, whether it freed them all or not doesn't really matter.
Also, the South started the war. I often wonder what the outcome of that political situation would have been if the Confederacy didn't attack Fort Sumter. That decision was very short sited.
MLKIII endorsed Coakley. King was a supporter of planned Parenthood and would be unlikely to be anti-abortion if he was alive today. Coakley is the civil rights candidate. What bloated health care bill? Obama has allowed it to be watered down to practically nothing, no public option and no medicare expantion. MLK was a liberal. If he was alive today most of you would be attacking him on this board. Also, it is the Republicans who are the party of voter fraud. Remember Diebold machines.
She probably borrowed Hillary's.
King was a republican until he got arrested and President Kennedy was the one who got him out of jail…he then changed his party to democrat….sad!
Too bad he couldn't muster up that kind of passion for the soldiers killed at Ft. Hood!!!
Hesse Jackson is one of the worse racists this country has!!!
Guess someone needs to remind her what partyy affiliation Dr. King had.
POOR THING LOOK MARTHA CAN ask for votes plus monday not every one celerbrates scott
doesnt know shit man ! u really think we need all that TED WAS A DEMOCRATE
Quoate "Why Martin Luther King Was Republican
by Frances Rice
08/16/2006
It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.
Not at all. Your Democrats speak in soundbites, content irrelevant.
