BREAKING: Scott Brown Holding Press Conference– Will Press Charges Against Democrats–Updated
by Jim HoftOne in five democrats in Massachusetts is going with Scott Brown.
That’s bad enough.
Now there’s more bad news for democrat Martha Coakley…
Scott Brown is holding a press conference at 4:00 PM EST. (From contacts in Massachusetts) He may sue the Democratic Party for using his picture on ads as a UPS driver.
Red Mass has the document:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CONTACT: Felix Browne
January 16, 2010 617-335-8333MEDIA ADVISORY FOR TODAY
Dan Winslow, counsel for the Scott Brown for U.S. Senate campaign, will hold a media availability to announce the filing of a criminal complaint against the Massachusetts Democratic Party regarding a recent mailing paid for and sent by the Massachusetts Democratic Party. Winslow will make a statement and take reporters’ questions at MassGOP Headquarters in Boston TODAY at 4:00 PM.
Massachusetts GOP Headquarters
85 Merrimac Street, 4th Floor
Boston.
Wow! Just WOW!
The Boston Herald reported on this Coakley ad earlier today—
UPS is not happy that the Democratic Party campaign pamphlet attacking Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown used the company’s slogan “What can Brown do for you?”
Evidently, Scott Brown is not happy about this either.
It looks like the Democrats will have to play defense… Can’t wait to see Obama on stage tomorrow.
Look for updates at Gateway Pundit.
UPDATE: It looks like it was the disgusting Coakley rape flyers that were sent out that the Brown Campaign is upset about:
UPDATE: Coakley Staffers crash Brown Press Conference!
UPDATE: Oh my… The criminal complaint is against the Democratic Party for their awful abortion mailings.
The Washington Times posted video from the press conference:
Dan Winslow, Brown campaign counsel, spoke to reporters about the campaign’s filing of a criminal complaint against the Massachusetts Democratic Party regarding a recent mailing paid for and sent by the Massachusetts Democratic Party.
It’s not the first time they’ve filed charges…..
The Scott Brown Campaign filed charges against the SEIU in December.

This is democratic scum at it's best. Cannot win on substance so let's be criminal about it. Why would anyone vote for these pathetic unconstitutional jokes, seriously people, come on. Common sense needs to be activated NOW!!!
Man! It's not even a good photoshop. Who put this together, somebody's ten year old kid? At least they used all the right spellings this time.
And of course they managed to slip in George W Bush's name.
Let's see how this works for them.
Unless there's something more, I don't see anything criminal here. The last thing the Brown campaign wants to do here is to lose focus… or let false accusations fly. Hopefully the complaint has something to do with the funding, rather than the content, of the mailing.
Others are saying it's the ad suggesting he wanted to turn away _all_ rape victims from hospitals.
[...] Email this to a friend | Print | Share on Facebook | Tweet this | // [...]
At least Brown will deliver on his promises….not lie as per the dems.
I will pray Berry's handlers will think it's a great idea to follow this poor taste up by having him show up with a brown cap on his head. Heh. Just another example of democratic trash.
We just may pull this off yet.
There's a mass dem party paid for mailer floating around claiming Scott Brown wants to deny rape victims care at emergency rooms. There is no low these scumbags won't sink to.
Actually I kind of thought it was a good ad promoting Mr Brown and really showing how shallow Coakley really is. Do what you need to do Mr Brown, you have my support. Coakley is nothing but a self pompous, courrupt, entitled elitist. She is worse than no candidate for the Democratic Party. If she is the best MA can come up with, the whole state may go and stay RED while draining their own SWAMP!!!
crazy……seems like her campaign id desperation at best……If I were UPS I would sue them for trademark infringement, have them cease and desist using the campaign….and publish public opology to bothe UPS and Brown………but, they won't…..they never apologize for stealing tax dollars to fund entitlement programs for the Progressive movement…..or for funding their pork for unions and banks……..corporatacracy at its best……
UPS should sue tomorrow morning for slander and trademark infringement on their equity trademark "Brown".
Ahhh…As the nervous waves of regret begin to descend upon Coakley, she can always rest assured that there will be an advisory position open for her at one of Soros's houses of ill-repute when she gets done getting beat down by the people of Mass.!
This whole situation is one political gaff to the next on Coakley's side. Now the One is getting involved even! (Yeah, it's not like there's anything important for him to be dealing with like the Economy or the war.) I wasn't really thinking Coakley wouldn't get elected but now I'm beginning to wonder.
Exactly. If they're going to photoshop something, do it right!
Maybe I stand corrected: UPS has a live Federal Trademark on "What Can Brown Do for You", but given the totality of the circumstances, I still don't think there is a whole lot of likelihood of confusion that UPS is (by the mailing) supporting Coakley…. seems like a parody issue to me.
http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&st...
A quality photoshop would claim he actually had been an UPS driver. A bad photoshop is more political commentary and free speech, sort of like photoshopping Hillarys face on a hog's butt. I don't see this going anywhere.
As for shipping jobs overseas, that was part of the campaign to turn 3rd world countries into "developing countries", and that was a contributing factor in Union Carbide building that plant in Bhopal. Then, there was the Marshall Plan before that, and the rebuilding of Japan…
On second thought, Croakley is implying that there is something wrong with being a blue collar worker, isn't she?
No publicity is bad publicity….but getting the DNC's head in a vice would be rather entertaining. Now please, will someone hand Coakley a microphone….
How desperate are these people??? loooooooool Mention Bush, use cheesy slogans and photoshop! Bring in Clinton and Obama! That's desperation at its finest!!!
Probably was not too hard for her campaign to spell UPS
Another convincing, logical argument supporting the Democratic Party position – e.g., a slanderous personal attack. Yes, that's definitely the way I want my country governed, all right.
Wonder what the Obama is thinking, after painting George Bush as the Devil for over two years, about exploiting him as a colleague in organizing help for the Haitians. Isn't our Prez frightened that this devilish GWB might commit more of his criminal behavior against the earthquake victims? Or is Obama just waiting for a few months to spring another unsupported assertion against Bush for exploiting the poor Hatians for the benefit of Halliburton?
From the ridiculous to the sublime. Libs have no bounderies.
Too funny, Geraldine Ferraro was just on Fox saying a Coakley loss is NOT a referendum on Obama or the Democratic Party. Book.It.Done. Coakley is toast.
Her campaign people must be freakin' idiots.
They (dems) must be really running scared to do something as low life as this! I hope Brown wins by a landslide!!!
I live in Medford MA, Martha Coakley's hometown and everyone around here is voting for Brown!
DID CLINTON BRING ALONG MONICA ????
This may be a frivolous claim but it gives back to the lowlife Democrats a little taste of the crud they have been giving us all for the past 40 years. I'm glad Scott Brown has people on his team who are willing to get down in the mud with the piggy Democrats and beat them at their own sleazy game. Go Scott Go! Whop the puddin' outta Martha "Don't Call Me Gerald Amirault" Coakley
The Democrat "machine" is showing itself as a "low road" obfuscating, befuddled, disgraceful bunch in this campaign. UPS lawyers should jump into the fray over this overt and obvious use of their ideas which damages UPS' reputation and credibility.
It is obvious that Ms. Coakley's campaign is running scared and has pulled out all the stops for its final negative campaign run against Brown.
It's about time the Republicans took a page from the lawyer-happy Dems' playbook. Accuse, (justly, I'd hope, but what the hell), sue, complain, get loud, get heard, don't let the slightest slight go unchallenged, loudly, make a Federal Case out of every frickin' thing. Be a thorn in their side.
The only problem I can see with Brown's campaign is that there's not enough lawyers and citizens with nightsticks to "safeguard" their voting constituents. And not enough dead voters and aliens on their voting rolls. And not enough community organizers to count the votes and double them.
But hey, "A" for a new tactic, at least.
Sorry. As lovely as it would be for Brown to win, I think the Republican base and many Tea Party members still haven't gotten the message about street-level activism within the gears of the machine. If he loses, I don't think it will discourage anyone, I think it will force us all to swallow our pride and get dirty in the political process.
There's no end of "journalism" that has newly discovered the science of logistical deployment of people and supplies, the dismay of impassable roads, lack of potable water, and a port that's destroyed and a crippled airport. To hear the Media wring their hands about all the difficulty Obama faces is laughable. Of course, having never administrated the smallest little town, he's overwhelmed. Now he's passing off his dirtiest duty to someone who doesn't mind stooping low enough to lift others up. God Bless George Bush and his efforts.
Col. Brown should have a follow up press conference at 3: PM Sunday. I'll bet a lot of reporters find him more interesting than Obama!!
What part of their anatomy did you actually have in mind being in that vice?
A Brown victory on Tuesday would be referendum on Obama. And my Kodak moment will be seeing that doofus of a Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs trying to spin a Brown victory as not a referendum on Obama. Jake Tapper will ask about the election and the stammering and sweating will begin.
Brown needs to talk about is the economy. It's BAD and everybody knows somebody who has lost a job. Everybody is paying more for everything. There are empty buildings all over the place. Stores have gone out of business and people are hurting while BO is flying around the world partying. It's a crisis. Use it.
Like a true liberal; when things don't go their way, they throw tantrums and show the world what jack a**## they really are.
Think about what would happen if a whole bunch of Massachusetts citizens with high ideals went and voted for a third party candidate instead of Brown, though. The Republicans may not be perfect, but they're what we've got. And I DO believe we've pushed them to the right.
ups won't sue, they are trying to get the dems to make it possible to screw fedex, if they sue the dems, the dems won't try and screw fedex. it has something to do with the classification of their service, air freight, over ground service. it would make it so fedex would need to unionize across the board, and then raise rates.
How about a Tea Party in the parking lot of the Boston Globe at 2:30?
It's painfull…uhmm….to have to…uhmm…listen to Gibbs for….uhmm….any length of….uhmm…time…
But I agree that he will be quite entertaining to watch, no matter who wins…
God Bless you all.
Actually I agree. Let UPS do the heavy living (pun intended)
Funny thing is, Scott looks like a real man doing real work in the poorly Photoshopped "ad." But manliness is something so foreign to Democrats that I'm not surprised they can't get it right.
Marxist democrats are always missing in the fact category……..they must always lie to citizens, for their real agenda would get them shot or hung!
Does everyone in politics have to act like spoiled 5 year olds? On both sides? What a freaking joke this race is, maybe everyone should vote for the adult in the crowd – Joe Kennedy.
Hmmm…what is that sound I hear? Oh, it's the Democratic Party and Obama flushing themselves down the toilet in 2010. This is gonna be a good year for champagne stocks, when all conservatives toast each other as they watch Nancy Piglosi handing the gavel over to the new GOP speaker of the house. You just can't pay for entertainment that good. Bye bye Nancy. Bye bye Arlen. Bye bye Ben. Bye bye Harry. Welcome to the real world of America Barack Hussein Obama. Obamunism is dead.
My 10 and 13 year old cousins would have photoshoped that much better.
Ferraro is very forgiving for having been thrown under the bus and then having the bus thrown into reverse over her.
I'll say it again-Let's Roll.
Whats he doing!?
There'll be time for that after he wins. He needs to stay focused on the goal. It aint over yet.
I just sent his campaign another check!!
Yup, your jobs are in good hands with Democrats. They won't ship your jobs overseas like W did. They'll kill them right here by taxing your employer to death. By taxing your health insurance to death. By triple taxing your children and grand children to death.
And nothing like putting down an ex-POTUS who's doing good works "overseas" on behalf of the same Haitians we're all contributing to this week (how many people here have a church holding a special offering this Sunday?).
[...] CAMPAIGN getting desperate. Also, busing in SEIU [...]
I don't think they have issue with whether they support Brown or not, They have issue with a link to a tarnishing campaign that might stick in peoples minds. Therefore they might develop a negative view of UPS because of this. Its an ad world thing…
I think that iF UPS had a political PAC that would come out and endorse Brown, that would be better revenge against the sheer stupidity of the Coakley campaign than hand-slapping or suing for any copyright infringement. Along the same embarrassing lines of the Cambridge police, from which Coakley's husband retired, coming out to endorse Brown.
As for Brown filing a lawsuit against the "rape flyers", from what I understand his voting record is proof this is truly all a lie and Coakley deserves to go down in red-hot flames for allowing it. It's not bad timing, either; to see how blatant and immoral the Democrats are behaving in this campaign could well push many still on the fence or torn about party loyalty over to voting for Brown.
It's the Chicago way. I hope there are cameras trained on every polling site, with security standing by. The next time a lib whines and snibbles to you about lack of civility, shove this one right back at them.
UPS is union…….Do they not realize that they are messing with their own?
They fail to realize that the longer Obama serves the better GW Bush looks in hindsight. He's not the boogeyman they once were conned into believing he was. Obama is the king of corrupt boogeymen.
Elementary lesson in political correctness:
Conservative view: Son, don't touch that… it is a turd.
Libtard view: Son, that looks like a turd… pick it up by the clean end.
Yes, but when the Republicans trot out some tired old RINO, then idealism will trump The Same Old Thing, in my book. It's just not about "party" anymore. It's about what is right. We let the boogey-man scare us into voting for RINOs for years. I'm done with that tactic. Either the GOP puts forth good candidates or they can kiss Democrat ass for another 45 years. And they can kiss mine, too.
rckmom, this is par for the course with Dems…Nothing is to
low for them….they crawl on their bellies!!
The Dems pulled similar tactics with Chis Christie in the NJ Gov election. A few days before election day they sent out a bunch of mailings saying Christie would take away people's healthcare and women wouldn't be able to get mammograms covered any longer. The Dems are a bunch of fear mongers and liars.
Excellent synopsis…
Excellent synopsis…!
Coakley is more gaffe prone than even Joe Biden!
Does everyone here know that she stated that Curt Schilling "loves the Yankees and is a BIG fan of the Yankees?
She hasn't a clue about anything and her staff is inept beyond belief.
Obama is "THE KISS OF DEATH" to every candidate he has stumped for, since becoming president! Corzine and Deeds………………anyone? May Mass. be a clone of the Virginia and N.J. elections !
LOL
ROFL
You can run but you can't hide (and if I was Coakley and the Dems that's what I would want to do right about now).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nEoW-P81-0
Yet again the Dems show that their veneer of caring, tolerance, justice, fairness, etc., is exceedingly thin, and it doesn't take much to reveal what evil bastards they really are.
CL- for a moment I was frightened. I thought Obamao sent Janet N. to conduct recon. It should be illegal for such ugliness to run wanton in the homeland.
Talk about sleaze! I just came out of 4 PM Mass. A leaflet was placed on all car windshields calling Brown a baby killer. Vote for him and you defeat the anti life legislation.
Since when has he or any other Republican been pro-life? REspect for life involves criminals, the poor, handicapped and Gitmo prisoners. PLEASSE.
Republicans represent greed and every man and women for themselves. Admitedly, Martha and the dems have made fools of themselves, but let's not elect another one of those highly moral Republicans.
Coakley is the one that lets rapists back out on the street. She just stuck one foot in her mouth and the other foot up her own arse with this flyer.
Any Democrat interviewed on Fox this week already had the talking point(s) in hand. Not Obam-uh's fault, 60% of America wants public health care, perhaps Obama's "style" is a bit off lately. Oddly, none of them defended Coakley or even mentioned her. It must be very, very crowded under that bus.
How do you spell Martha Coakley?
D-E-S-P-E-R-A-T-E.
Someone needs to spread eagle that "woman" and warm up the curling iron………..
Agreed Einy. Remember Obama won MA by 26%. If Brown wins or loses by less than 5%, it will send a message to the Dems running for the House and Senate in Nov. The message is you could be the next one with tire marks courtesy of the Bus-Driver-In-Chief.
…and you can't spell. This is typical ignorance.
Panic is an ugly thing …
What??? Where are you getting this "information"?
Jan,
You only have 2 choices at this point. You can choose to advance the trampling of our Constitution by the likes of Obamao, Reid and Pelosi or You can try something different. I am not saying things will be perfect, but you have to make a choice. Many of us who do not live in Massachusetts are counting on folks like you to take the high road and vote for liberty and freedom. Most of us are unhappy with both parties, but we do not feel it is in the best interest of our country to allow one party rule- which is what we have at this time. If you wish for less taxes, less government spending and less government in our lives, you really need to think about voting for Brown. Regardless of how you vote, we will defend your privilege to do so. God Bless America and God Bless You.
We've all heard of "Blue Monday"! Here comes "SWEET TUESDAY"! Go Scott, go!
I've had it warmed up for a few days now…Damn cord's not long enough!
You gotta love it. Coakley and her goons are incompetent buffoons; the entire democrat party has become a caricature of a clown car being driven by hussein with pelosi and reid riding shotgun and ACORN, the SEIU, and DNC in the back seat. Scott Brown is obviously a serious individual, one that would serve the people of MA well.
A hilarious ad in favor of Brown………
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcFVRQi3ZEo&fe...
Yes, there's a criminal violation, whether SEIU is using state resources or their own union manpower (one and the same, I know) for partisan political activity. Union manpower is in-kind political donations that are not accounted for in the required filings. It's such a common form of corruption, widely practiced by Dems, that we usually just let it slide. I for one am delighted to see a candidate call them out.
I've been pro-life all my life, but pro-life means all life. I resent the moralistic view of the Republicans after they go to war without any thought to it. Business greed has taken over our country, and we can't blame Obama. He inherited this self-center governmental and social mess.
I have to vote for the person who – by a preponderance of evidence – represents the interests of those who cannot help themselves. It costs a lot — but can we afford not to?????
Millions are pouring in for aid to Haiti. Let's be as generous to our own citizens as well.
Thanks.
Don't you find it odd? I mean not a single troll. They must have decided to 'moveon'.
Others would be wrong as this use of tax payer resources for politics by either side has already been ruled on in 2009 as once again a "big no-no". So here you're already looking at a simple matter of stare decisis. Coakley is between a rock and a hard place.
As for the anti-abortion thing, it is merely panic stricken a Democrat party resorting to their "when losing" strategy of "anonymous" slander and also once again showing that overabundance of malice.
Here is the latest Martha Coakley ad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OM5udILoC4
Brown 50% and Coakley 46%
I guess Hell has finally frozed over.
Zippdy Do Da Zippdy Da! Go Scott Go. Mary Jo is smiling in Heaven. Thank you people from the great state of Mass.
Over 12000 new facebook fans on his page in 48 hours – Martha just got to 12000 today !!! Scott is getting close to 70,000 – Let's push him to 100,000 – Come on America – Got to his page and become a fan –
This WILL be the shot heard around the world !!!!
I'm Going to Say USING GEORGE W. BUSH's Name may now be a POSITIVE seeing where BHO is taking our country too. I say good for using GWB's name.
Biggovernment !!! Get your cameras ready in Boston tomorrow – Obama's drive to his speaking engagement will be nothing but BROWN !!!!!!
Wear it proudly when we welcome the Communist to Boston! F Obama!
http://www.usa1st.us
Somebody get Jimmy Hoffa on the line…..his union, the Teamster's represents UPS drivers.
What gives you any reason to think the Dems are pro-life? Make no mistake, the Dems win the prize for the most virulent anti-life party around. Any Dem who is even *remotely* pro-life is marginalized and ignored just as the Republicans are. They know it, and there's not much they can do about it. The abortion lobby, among others, has a huge lock, and use their very deep pockets, on the rabid Leftists of the Democratic party. Why do you hear so much about the two factions – the Leftist Dems and the moderate Dems – fighting amongst themselves? The Leftists can't bear to NOT have abortion included and the moderates seem to be backing the Stupak Amendment. And, by the way, let's say covering abortions is left out of the final bill. It does not overturn Roe v. Wade. A woman who wants an abortion can still get one. She just has to pay for it herself.
Make no mistake about this: NOTHING in this so-called "health-care" bill, crafted soley by the Democrats, is anything close to being "pro-life." You can start with the fact that everyone will end up paying for abortions, whether we want to or not, which, as a Catholic myself, I have a very serious problem with. Conscience protections will be gone. Everyone's health care premiums will go up, unless you're lucky enough to have had a sweetheart union deal. Finding a doctor will get a lot harder, and your quality of care will go way down.
As 4aRepublic has said, I'll defend your right to vote for whomever you choose, and I will pray that you carefully consider your choice, as I am not a Massachusetts resident either. This is not just any ordinary election, in my opinion. This truly is a referendum on where we want this nation to go – toward the statist , controlling attitudes of the Leftist Democrats or toward the freedom and liberties that are our birthright as Americans.
I'm with you MerryJ1-
Call 'em out and make 'em play defense on all fronts. Besides, it just warms the cockles of my heart for SEIU to get their knuckles rapped by…the attorney general!!!
Boy Howdy! Does that put her in between a "Barack and a Hard Place" or what? Is this not the quintessential divine justice coming back and taking a bite out of your behind? Because…no matter which way she goes with this one…she is damned if she does and damned-er if she doesn't.
That just makes me happy.
Jan~
Are you asking where the information is about Coakley, Catholics and Emergency Rooms? I thought everyone had heard that but here's a link, complete with audio of the utterance.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/weblogs/watercoole...
Massachusetts on Tuesday and then we can turn to California this fall and let's see what the SWAMP thinks then!
Here's to a TERRRRRRRRIFFFFIC TUESDAY when we reclaim this nation from the idiots and SOCIALISTS!!!
Go Medford, MA! Make us proud!
Don't mess with UPS!!! We had a local politician whose name was Brown and his signage resembled their shield and they sent their lawyers after him. Bad move on the DNC's part.
Very well said Liz…I too am a Catholic and pro-life, and I'm wondering
how Jan came to the conclusion that the Dems are pro-life….They have
never been pro-life as far as I know, except for a very few, and then they
don't follow their conscious ala Senator Nelson from Nebraska…
Just curious how you got your info Jan.. God Bless!!
Gibbs stuttering and stammering will go like this:
"There was an election in Mass yesterday? We've been focused on health care and haven't been paying attention to small elections that may be going on in the country. Anyone else? I need to move onto something constructive."
