A DNC is not a method of normal abortion. A DNC is usually done due to many factors including excessive bleeding which can indicate miscarriage. If a DNC is done in an emergency room it's done for the fear of health of the woman having the DNC. It is not a method that a woman can come in and just terminate her pregnancy on a whim.

I'm sorry, but actually a person does have a right to work in any field they choose, what doesn't exist is the ability for the government to forbid someone to work in a field of their choice. I would think that there are not only a reasonable number of hospitals where someone could seek medical care that caters to their needs (aka, birth control, abortion, etc..) but that even in a Catholic hospital there would be doctors and nurses that do not have that moral proclivity. Constitutional freedoms are there to protect the individual not force one individual to bend to the will of the government. I would add that I'm not Catholic and have no personal problem with birth control, but in using your own words…"the fact that you don't like it" doesn't mean you have a right to refuse someone the ability to live according to their conscience.

I'm sitting here trying to digest this whole Scott Brown vs. Martha Coakley thing and its not going down too well for me. True conservatives and libertarians have been gaining major traction over the traditional GOP sentiment for the past year, but I see the blind support for Scott Brown as an enormous step backwards.

Scott Brown is doing all of the things that 'reborn conservatives' have chastised Obama for. Rhetoric over substance. He first claimed that he could stop Obama's healthcare (which he can't). Now he's saying that Obama needs to "stay away" from this race, effectively telling the people that if they don't like Obama, that they should vote for him. All of this is an attempt to gain votes for Brown based on rhetoric and not substance. If you look at his record, Brown is exactly the same type of "conservative" who we're all pissed at for letting us down over the past decade. Pro spending, stimulus, cap and trade, war, and big government.

Sadly, its working. I can't go to DrudgeReport.com or BigGovernment.com without seeing Pro-Brown articles along with hundreds of comments from readers supporting him. People are accepting him as the anti-Obama hero, which may be a power sentiment these days but will put us exactly in the same place we are now, with politicians on both sides that don't represent the people.

Brown is not the only big government GOP politician to campaign like this. The Governor of Texas also comes to mind as someone whose track record of being a neo con is being skirted to the side under the thin vale of Tea Party- sympathetic comments.

Sadly there may not be much more we can do aside from informing friends in the Mass area of Brown's history, but it is our duty to try. On a personal level, I'd rather have Coakley win to complete the liberals failures instead of people like Brown stepping in to misrepresent true conservatives.

How does she make the leap from abortion to religion? I have worked in a hospital and you really don't see many abortions in the ER. There is also a little thing called the Hippocratic oath.

I have never heard of one in a hospital and I worked in one for 5 years. I saw a lot of hospital staff taking heroic measures to try to save preemies. I saw a lot of parents trying very hard to keep those preemies alive until they were old enough to survive outside the womb. I helped supply the copious meds.
It takes real devotion to work in an ER. I have seen that, too. My daughter is doing 12 hour shift as a PA in an ER. Those people need our praise.

you know, I have read the constitution and while I find "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion" I don't see the phrase "separation of church and state." So while that is a Jeffersonian principle, I think it's trumped by the bill of rights. Abortion has never been legal, only decriminalized. For it to be legal there must be an amendment to the Constitution passed by the legislative branch and signed into law by the executive. Even then it must not violate laws which already exist nor the original Bill of Rights.

Most American Catholic physicians have accepted the need to prescribe birth control or to specialize in areas that do not involve OBGYN or primary care.
