Fistgate: Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar’s 2000 Conference Promoted ‘Fisting’ to 14 Year-Olds

In 2007 Kevin Jennings was paid $273,573.96 as the executive director of GLSEN. Recently he was appointed by the Obama administration to run the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools in the US Department of Education.
On Friday, Scott Baker from Breitbart.TV and Co-Host of ‘The B-Cast‘ submitted a shocking report on Obama’s deviant Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings. This report was posted at Gateway Pundit blog. Scott explained:
I was recently approached by a team of independent researchers that I have known for some time and have come to trust. They prepared this report involving ‘Safe Schools Czar’ Kevin Jennings and the organization he founded, GLSEN, and asked that I find a way to help draw attention to what they uncovered. Knowing that Gateway Pundit has followed Kevin Jennings since his appointment, as we have on The B-Cast (here, here, and here), and on Breitbart.tv (here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here), I felt this would be an appropriate place for this report.
Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings was the founder, and for many years, Executive Director of an organization called the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). GLSEN started essentially as Jennings’ personal project and grew to become the culmination of his life’s work. And he was chosen by President Obama to be the nation’s Safe Schools Czar primarily because he had founded and led GLSEN (scroll for bio).
GLSEN’s stated mission is to empower gay youth in the schools and to stop harassment by other students. It encourages the formation of Gay Student Alliances and condemns the use of hateful words. GLSEN also strives to influence the educational curriculum to include materials which the group believes will increase tolerance of gay students and decrease bullying. To that end, GLSEN maintains a recommended reading list of books that it claims “furthers our mission to ensure safe schools for all students.” In other words, these are the books that GLSEN’s directors think all kids should be reading: gay kids should read them to raise their self-esteem, and straight kids should read them in order to become more aware and tolerant and stop bullying gay kids. Through GLSEN’s online ordering system, called “GLSEN BookLink,” featured prominently on their Web site, teachers can buy the books to use as required classroom assignments, or students can buy them to read on their own…
What we discovered shocked us. We were flabbergasted. Rendered speechless.
We were unprepared for what we encountered. Book after book after book contained stories and anecdotes that weren’t merely X-rated and pornographic, but which featured explicit descriptions of sex acts between pre-schoolers; stories that seemed to promote and recommend child-adult sexual relationships; stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers, five-year-olds playing sex games, semen flying through the air. One memoir even praised becoming a prostitute as a way to increase one’s self-esteem. Above all, the books seemed to have less to do with promoting tolerance than with an unabashed attempt to indoctrinate students into a hyper-sexualized worldview.
We knew that unless we carefully documented what we were reading, the public would have a hard time accepting it. Mere descriptions on our part could not convey the emotional gut reaction one gets when seeing what Kevin Jennings wants kids to read as school assignments. So we began scanning pages from each of the books, and then made exact transcriptions of the relevant passages on each page.

On Saturday, it was discovered that Kevin Jennings’ organization GLSEN sponsored a youth conference at Tuft’s University in March 2000. This conference was fully supported by the Massachusetts Department of Education, the Safe Schools Program, the Governor’s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth, and some of the presenters even received federal money. An undercover journalist with Mass Resistance was at the conference and recorded a couple of the workshops. During one of the conference workshops an activist asks 14 year-old students, “Spit or swallow?… Is it rude?” This audio clip segment is also posted here.

It’s about tolerance? If Gay Straight Alliances are not about sex, why are the people who run Gay Straight Alliances telling students about fisting? You just heard a public employee promote “fisting” to 14-year-olds. Kevin Jennings who ran GLSEN is now Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar.
To be clear, this post is not about supporting or not supporting gays or gay rights. This post is about the radical agenda of groups like GLSEN and activists like Kevin Jennings.

The problem here is that the choice on how to educate your child is being infringed – you, not the government, makes this choice. Obviously the goal of this group is to promote understanding of homosexuality and sex education to 12+ children. Nothing wrong with that if 1) it's clear what the orgs goal is and 2) people get to choose whether this is right or not for their child. This should not be mandatory in any way!

I think that the talking is just about over. As a parent, had I merely wanted to visit my children’s Jr. High School and I found this to be a topic discussion in any manner? Let's just say if this was in the year 2000, I would be about an eighth way through my prison sentence which I'm willing to do to get this nation back to its core values. When one speaks about integrity, character, values, conviction, discipline, hard work and just merely doing the right thing, all hell breaks loose from the left in the form of sirens. To say these principals are worth fighting is an understatement. First – I do not promote teaching kids about fisting. But, obviously people aren’t teaching their kids enough about sex and safe sex – look at the STD rates among young people! Its scary.
Kids are going to have sex (most of them). Take off the blinders people and teach your kids and answer their questions. All you have to do is watch MTV for 2 hours and you will realize how confused many of them are with what they see. Watch their video games with sex violence and teach them that isn’t right!
I think there needs to be a BIG middle ground on this. Parents need to get involved with their kids more than 30 minutes a day. When you rely on the schools to teach your kids – this is the crap they will learn. And you have allowed it.

Finally, to address the content of the article, if these books are on an recommended reading list to supplement curriculum, it is entirely shameful and inappropriate. If Kevin Jennings does not take steps to address this, then he should be prepared to defend his appointment within the Department of Education. This is exactly the kind of situation we end up with when a proper vetting process is not required.

First off, I don't understand what is supposed to be offensive about those books. The ones listed all seem to be about how moms and dads are both able to be loving and supportive parents or about what it's like to find that you're different than other kids. Secondly, it sounded like a student asked the question "what is fisting?" Looks to me like he was responding to a question, and, even then, he simply explained what it was, which is a far cry from "promoting" it. Even if the explanation of fisting is a planned part of the presentation itself (i.e., not simply him responding to an audience question), it's pretty clear that he's not "promoting" it; it's the equivalent of explaining how to use a condom in (heterosexual) sex education. That is, you explain to teens how to use condoms not to promote sex but to ensure that they don't transmit disease/have kids when the inevitably do have sex, and likewise, you explain to teens that fisting doesn't mean actually trying to shove a full fist in there so that if/when homosexual teens attempt the act they don't hurt each other. Even if this WERE promotion of the homosexual act of fisting (which it isn't), the jump to pedophilia and molestation that people are making all over the comments section would still be ridiculous and unrelated; it would be like saying sex education (promotion, even) were the equivalent of promoting rape.

The part about "Safe" is that a top priority for the liberal school agenda is to create a safe environment for gay and lesbian kids, where they won't be harassed. Never mind that everybody in school gets harassed for everything… Can't throw a football? Wear glasses? Do great in class? Do awful in class? Not protected categories. But a great amount of government expense is going towards the issue of sexuality. So, where's the proof this is necessary? If a kid got beat up in school for being gay, it would be all over the news the next morning, so where are the stories? Perhaps I'm being conspiratorial, but I suspect the real intent is to take a pre-emptive strike at undoing the unacceptable traditional morality the children may be "exposed to" during their few remaining hours of the day at home.
It's a shame you have to lose out on all the free government benefits of public school that you'll pay your tax money for anyway, but you might want to think about homeschooling.

I've served in local politics, worked for almost 60 years and never asked anyone for help. Although I'm too old to be of much help, I want more for my children and grand-children than revolution.
