Breaking: Charges Filed in Kenneth Gladney Case **Links Fixed**
by Jim HoftCHARGES WERE FILED TODAY IN THE KENNETH GLADNEY CASE!!
—6 Are Charged in Town Hall Disturbance and Beatings!
They were charged with “misdemeanor” violations for smashing a black man on the cement and calling him n*****.
The Post Dispatch just broke the news:
Six people arrested in August outside a raucous town hall meeting in south St. Louis County have been charged with misdemeanor ordinance violations.
The six, including a Post-Dispatch reporter, had attended a demonstration outside an Aug. 6 forum called by U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, at Bernard Middle School in Mehlville to discuss health care reform.
The charges were filed Tuesday by the St. Louis County counselor’s office, which prosecutes misdemeanor ordinance violations in unincorporated areas. All are to appear in court Jan. 21.
The maximum penalty upon conviction would be one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Some bloggers have been writing for months about the lag between the arrests at the politically-charged event and the filing of charges.
County Counselor Patricia Redington insisted it had nothing to do with politics, influence or pressure from any official.
“These charges are like the 90,000 other charges we file each year,” she said.
Post-Dispatch reporter Jake Wagman, 30, of University City, was charged with interfering with a police officer. The charges allege that he failed to obey repeated commands “to leave the site of an ongoing disturbance.”
Elston McCowan, 47, of St. Louis, and Perry Molens, 50, of De Soto, each were charged with assaulting a person and interfering with police. They are accused of scuffling with and injuring Kenneth Gladney, a demonstrator with the Tea Party, a group generally opposed to Democrats’ universal health care proposals.
By the way… Gladney was not a protester. He was selling merchandise at the event.
Kenneth Gladney was beaten and stomped on by SEIU thugs outside of the Russ Carnahan town hall meeting in August:
Dana Loesch has more on the charges.
Post-Dispatch writer Jake Wagman just tweeted the news that he was charged:

So do you think Jesse and Al will get involved now?
…Me either.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Large victories are made up of many small ones. I'll be interested in seeing what the high caliber attorneys hired by SEIU are able to do with this 'misdemeanor' charges.
We're watching.
About friggin' time, let's see if this gets the ball rolling!!
I want to know about Kenneth Gladney!
It's about damn time.
Did you just tune in or what Cowboy Logic? Read from the main site of Big Government.
ordinance violations? what about assault with bodily injuries? what a joke.
Well well, seems like pressure does work if applied long enough and hard neough.
"Misdemeanor ordinance violations"???????? Not "Assault and battery"? Nothing about "race crimes"? Nothing about "rackateering"? The delay had nothing to do with politics?
I did not know assault was a misdemeanor. Guess I am ignorant of criminal activity.
These turds should be jailed, not for just assault, but also under Federal Organized Crime statutes (RICO) and Civil Rights violations. Of course Orgasma's Attorney General would have to want to obey The Constitution and we all know that he is too busy trying President Bush errrrrr, I mean the Terrorists errrrrr, I meant the poor misunderstood Islamic martyrs being held against their will in Cuba.
Can Mr. Gladney file a civil suit against SEIU?
I live in mid Missouri and I know what a bunch of lying low-life crooked theives there are in the St. Louis end of the state. Its mainly a dem town, so don't expect much to come of it.
"County Counselor Patricia Redington insisted it had nothing to do with politics, influence or pressure from any official."————————————————————————–<Suuuuuure, and Obama's a capitalist!!!!
Ha, now that gives a whole different meaning to the media throwing in with the opposition.
If they are convicted they will probably be paroled with no time served, wonder what the penalty would be for a parole viloation, thugs are usually hot heads, just a matter of time I would suspect.
"misdemeanor ordinance violations" so if I do the same thing to Patricia Redington as these SEIU thugs did to KENNETH GLADNEY I will only get a misdemeanor ordinance violations? St Louis here I come, your my kind of town.

If they were paid or even told to be there by SEIU then I would say yep.
Probably right, battering a black man in a wheel chair seems like it deserves more than misdemeanor, probably just throwing something out and hoping the outrage dies down.
Good news! I would think this be a great case for ACLU to be involved in. It's got all the stuff in it the ACLU types pine for, a black victim, being assaulted by crowd of viscous racists, trying to keep him from his right to freedom of speech.
Anybody think that will happen? Yeah, I don't think so either…..
[...] St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that County Counselor, Patricia Redington, FINALLY filed charges against six suspects in the beatings of Kenneth Gladney and Kelly Owens on August 6. The two [...]
Now that that thebad guys have been identified, KG can file a civil lawsuit against them. HIs injuries are obvious, even if the county counselor's office has ignored this. Hire the lawyers who filed the civil lawsuit against OJ! They would probably do it pro bono. They can even write it off their taxes!
"Some bloggers have been writing for months about the lag between the arrests at the politically-charged event and the filing of charges."
Hey Patrick O'Connell — Maybe your own paper should have been covering this terrible injustice and how the DA has been dragging his feet, and put a little pressure on him like some of us did! Man, the racism in this country is unbelievable. Now, I hope justice is served. Kenneth Gladney is more than a middle aged conservative black man. I read about what he did, and what he said. He is a brave patriot and a hero. He believed in the founders and said it right to the SEIU's face. We need more like Mr. Gladney.
"misdemeanor ordinance violations" ? So, if I cockpunch my ex-husband, it's OK, as long as I'm in a crowd of like-minded people? Great, I have enough friends to fill that quota. Woot!

Seems to me they had on SEIU T-shirts. Should be easy to prove. Hit them where it hurts. Below the belt.
The wallet that is.
Gladney was simply, the "wrong kind" of black person. The ACLU wears its racially-colored glasses well. Justice for some, not for all.
Good, there were crimes committed, and they should be pursued. But please STOP referring to Ken Gladney as a conservative activist, he was working for Dave Brown ( yes his lawyer) as a Button and flag sales man, he also sold Obama buttons and Dave has him on tape praising Obama… Since he was his lawyer he can't make them public… But I can
It's about time!
As soon as this opportunist Ken Gladney's usefulness has worn thin with the Tea Party Express, He will land under the wing of Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton and he will be selling books on how the right "used" him…. mark my words..
SS EIU
WORKING (people over)
TOGETHER!
Maybe Gladney can report the goings on of Acorn to the authorities too, since the locals are baffled about Voter Fraud and how that can happen in the pristine city of St. Louis!
To Kenneth Gladney – Happy Thanksgiving, you certainly deserve to have a Happy one after all this!
So as I look at the charges… The SEIU thugs were charged with “misdemeanor” violations for smashing a black man on the cement and calling him n*****.
That's unbelievable.
lmao
There was a large group selling flags and pins in D.C. at the 9/12 march also. Who are these guys and where does the money go?
I agree. It took them that long to find an obscure violation to charge them with. So knocking the crap out of someone is the same as blowing up someone's mailbox with a cherry bomb or knocking over their garbage can? If that's the case let's make all members of Congress move there and we'll go punch them everyday.
I couldn't agree with you more. We all need to watch to make sure there are no shananigans. I've gone to court a few times where the verdict did not make any sense or a bench warrant was quashed. We need to make sure a million spotlights are shining on this case.
http://www.eyeconshirts.com
Even though I'm glad that the charges has been filed. And I do hope that Kenneth gets his justice. I don't expect much happening to the SEIU. However, I hope I'm wrong though.
Good luck Kenneth, we're behind you 100 percent.
You mean the kind of person that works for a living, and doesn't depend on a group to cover for him?
i was waiting for the puchline of
It was Kenneth Gladney who was arrested!!!
Thanks to Jessie and Al for standing up aganist a black beating !!!!
One the tea party express Ken Gladney and his partner share the profits of the flags sold outisde the event, there are others who sell them simply for their own profit (Nothig wrong with that, free market ya know), But Ken Gladney called teh cops in almost every location with the Tea Party Express trying to stifle competition. Not a free market kinda guy (Conservative values anyone?)
Also Politcal Mint, Dave Braown's company hires people to do that, Ken Gladney used to work for them. Until he was offered the "Exclusive right" to sell Gadsden flags by the TPX people
I'm very curious on how they treat this case in court. I haven't had any luck in our court system. I was hit by a drunk driver at a stop light and the DA tried to get rid of me on 3 different occasions. The third court date, he did it again and the judge thanked me for being their each time. WHAT? Why was everyone trying to get me to leave before the case was called? Lets do Mr Gladney a huge favor and make sure his case is watched by everyone!
http://www.eyeconshirts.com
Anybody want to bet they get a "prayer for judgment" or the equivalent in Missouri (meaning the case will disappear)?
http://www.coastaldecorations.com
Maybe his attorney should closely examine the timing of his beating with the marching orders from the SEIU to "punch back twice as hard".
I'm not sure that I'd punch him there. You may need it one day. LOL, Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
http://www.eyeconshirts.com
If it had nothing to do with politics, it would not have been announced the day before the Thanksgiving holiday to bury it in the news cycle.
Why the long dely before the charges were filed? Justice delayed is justice denied.
These charges do not fit the crime. Wasn't it battery that rises to the level of a felony? Who in the heck is responsible for those lame, watered down charges. Pulling a page from the progressives – NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE.
and after the guilty verdict he will be able to go after the DEEP POCKETS for $$$$ {good for him} and they will also be open to federal hate crime and civil rights violations payback is a real bi*ch
misdemeanor ?
When somebody uses their foot on you, it's an assault. Technically it's called assault with "Shawed foot"
Somebody get this man a decent lawyer! Don't let these thugs slide on this Ken !
Without the media and blogs dogging this prosecutor on this matter these defendents would never have charged! I expect a light prosecution, but then I have no faith in this presecutor!
Sounds like this ouught to be prosecuted as a "Hate Crime".
"They were charged with “misdemeanor” violations for smashing a black man on the cement and calling him n*****."
Jesse, Rev Al, President Obama….Where's the justice??? We need a congressional investigation into the links of SEIU. mainstream media and racial injustice, racial oppression, and obstruction of justice by the media.
this is step one in having it swept under the rug…
What are the chances of any convictions here? Unless Mr Gladney can get some top flight legal help and airtight witnesses you can see this ending in a 'no contest' with a small fine (paid by SEIU of course) with 'time served' as penalty and then the espunging of the records can take place so the next time they do it (and they will- it's what they DO) there'll be no priors.
Cynical? you bet…
The Right hasn't used him, and I don't believe he'll falsely claim they have. This is bogus, unfounded BS.
Its about time they filed charges against these SEIU Obama thugs!
I have about as much faith in the prosecutor, as i do in the President of the United States.
They need to file charges against Rep Russ Carnahan also!
There is a simple solution to this St. Louis-Kenneth Gladney-SEIU Beating.
Why doesn't Obongo invite them all to the White House for a Beer Summitt Redux? A case of malt liquor and a bottle of bourbon for the thugs and everyone could hold hands and sing Kum-ba-a. Now wouldn't that be a festive photo op? He couldhave it printed into a Holiday Greeting Card and let Hallmark sell it.
The American legal system has never been about justice. It's always been about money and power. The only people who think that the United States has the best legal system in the world is lawyers and any one who has made money in a law suit.
This case has gone public so maybe Gladney will get justice. But this sort of thing happpens numerous times every day and the people involved always get screwed because the cops and the prosecutors are all about the good ole boy network.
If you have the money to buy the legal system in this country it will work just fine for you.If not you get stuck with a public defender and your screwed.
this snowball gets bigger by the hour, I would'nt want to stand in front of it
Why is this not a hate crime – oh right, he's conservative. If he was a useless libtard, they would have thrown the book at them.
You and me both! We have no justice left!
No justice here. Gladney will be pressured to settle for a dollar and it will take a lot of guts for him to appear in court. Damn, poor guy, his life will suck from here on out. Justice for libs only!
But that would be racist!………………..oh wait.
Given that it was SEIU, and we all know they are attached to Obama, possible Ken Gladney will take a side on this.
"Misdemeanor ordinance violations" — Looks a heck of a lot more like felony assault and battery to me.
CC – Depending on the state Assault is the actual touching someone to intentionally inflict physical injury. In some other states that defines Battery where Assault is the threat, or in NY State that would be harassment.
In New York there are degrees of Assault, 3, 2, and 1. Three being a misdemeanor whereas the deft. Intended to cause physical injury – whether or not the deft did or didn't that’s the charge. Assault 2 is where the deft intended to cause serious physical injury and added in is if the deft used a foreign object, such as a bat – in other states that’s Aggravated Battery. Assault 1, well that’s basically a plea bargain for attempted murder – felony obviously. Hope that helped!
Wouldn't this constitute a hate crime?
Well Rev. Al and Jesse won't show up until it a black getting beaten by whites.. oh sorry, umm.. maybe they didn't read this was a race attack… umm.. Maybe they are in the pockets of the Unions too… I think that is it.
I am glad the Panthers are marching in Texas. You guys took good enough with that cougar problem in Texas in the early 1900's do you think that placing a bounty on the panthers would eleminate the problem? You know once you get a panther problem it is hard to get rid of it. You know what they say Sunlight is the best disinfectant.
Nothing was said by the post distrash that those charged were SEIU members and the only other mention was the P.D reporter who of course was innocent and just doing his job.
I hope they get the full year and fine! Thugs!!
Are the Prosecutors office and the police dept in St.Louis SEIU members?
It sure looks like it!!!
They didn't show, because Gladney is legit.
I want to know why these people weren't charged with a Hate Crime since the beating was accompanied with the N word epithet.
Charges filed . . . what, a day? . . . after BigGovernments' most recent story.
Go, Breitbart!
No. I didn't just tunein. When I made that original post, some of the info on Big Gov. wasn't there. They have the luxury of adding to it, at will. Plus, the original links didn't work. You ought go back over the ourse of the last few days and get current. I've been yapping about Al, Jessie and the Black Panthers ignoring gladney for about two weeks now.
Man, my warped, cartoon, comedic little pea brain could get paragraphs of material out of your post. But I better not touch it. I wouldn't want to be labelled a racist………..
Yeah! Let's see a woman who pulled down a muslim woman's scarf is charged with a felony and people who slammed a guy into the concrete and called him a n_____ are charged with a misdemeanor. That makes sense right??????????
Misdemeanor violations my a$$. The next time an SEIU thug comes at you, blow him away. The law will protect him and not you. There is no justice in this country.
There is guy standing at the bottom of the long steep hill, smack dab in front of it. Barry Soetero……..
Misdemeanor ordinance violations??? What about felony assault charges??? What about the racial slurs??? Just because the perpetrators are black they somehow are immune to all these so-called "hate-crime" laws??? It sounds to me that these SEIU losers used HATEFUL language while BEATING this innocent man….. hey, I have an idea – lets beat some SEIU members and smash them on the pavement all while yelling racial epithets…. let’s see if we get the same treatment in the legal process. I normally wouldn’t suggest doing something like this, but seeing that President Barack Disgrace Obama's administration is all about social experiments, our SEIU beat down would just be an "information gathering event" intended to serve the public good in 2 ways – 1, we would be collecting data about the prejudices and discriminatory practices of the legal system; and 2, we would be ridding a community of public sector unions!
You don't really think any federal charges will ever be coming. Hate crime crime legislation was only created to protect black people and just ask any Dem, blacks do not support Republicans ergo, he is not black. And everyone at the scene misheard the insults, he was really calling him a rigger.
Move along folks, nothing to see here.
[...] http://biggovernment.com/2009/11/25/breaking-charges-filed-in-kenneth-gladney-case/ [...]
Does this qualify as a HATE CRIME? Seems to me that it should!!!!
Oh, I forgot that it is not intended to apply to conservative blacks!!!!
Isn't this a hate crime since they used racial slurs? Sorry. I forgot that only works when the lefties can use it to their advantage.
To indicate how hot this journalistic territory is locally, stltoday.com (subsidiary of St. Louis Dispatch) deleted this comment by katatak, a registered user, at 6:29pm today:
"We must keep in mind these SEIU union members are typically poorly educated and hence, more easily led to commit caustic acts in pursuit of gratification of emotional feelings or in defense of their belief systems.
Anything or anyone appearing as an obstacle is an enemy. It would be my hope that sentencing would include, besides anger management classes, in-depth courses in tolerance.
I do not wish here to delve into the emotional neediness or the defendants’ likely need for social dominance fueled by sexual impotence so I will confine these remarks more toward humane sentencing… Cont. next post.
Cont. from last post… The court is well situated as a matter of law to order psychological evaluations of these defendants so as to gain a better insight into their mental health needs.
It is my hope therefore that the court will look at these defendants with compassion and with a requisite willingness to give them the psychological help they really need.
Of course, these defendants should be required to pay for mandated psychological services just like alcohol, drug, and sex offenders are mandated to pay for the programs the court imposes on them."

This post followed the rules but is likely considered too inflammatory for a local predicament.
the SEIU thug with the cane was scary!! Holy crap! this guy must have been beaten so badly about the hair and mustache!!!
Something is missing on this report.
Was he in a wheel chair before the attack?
I hope justice is served .
This man could be crippled for life!
I can't understand kicking a person when he or she is down!!
That could be attempted murder.
It's about time…
Another ringing endorsement for union thugs in America! Acorn needs to counsel these union guys on how to do a beatdown without getting caught.
Folks, this paves the way for a HUGE civil suit against SEIU and potentially the dem Party.
[...] The difference in justice [...]
You just cant be logical in a pack of wild Liberals..IT DRIVES THEM FUGGING CRAZY!
Now you know why Liberals want people disarmed, and isn't this straight out of the Hitler play book?..IF WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK WE HAVE TO SHOW UP AND BE READY TO ROCK AND ROLL..NO MORE MR NICE GUY!
Living in St. Louis for 45 yrs & (usedtobereadersubscribertoSTLOUIS POST DISPATCH) no mystery as to why story essentially scrubbed; historically union town, FORD, CHRYSLER, BEER; roots deep here for 'rat opions, Post Dispatch on life support (mostly internet and junky popups); suburbs are 'publicans and THE WHOLE METRO AREA IS CATCHING ON FROM WHAT I HEAR FROM THE FOLKS I WORK WITH ABOUT OBAMA AND HIS ANTI AMERICAN ALINKY CROWD…I hope these SEIU thugs get JAIL …by the way no wt watchers diet/Jennie Craig for these tite t shirt fat slobs in purple (fact check them out if they've ever worked)….
It appears that BO had no interest in defending this African American because he's the wrong party. Tells you something about him. He does nothing unless its politically motivated. for his libs.
Did you see how important the reporter felt Mr. Kenneth Gladney was. He was hardly mentioned., but I guess we can expect no less from the hired Democrat thugs from Mexico. This stinks of a Marxist State here. I'd go to the Constitution "BillyBob" and do some reading. You appear to be in violation of a man's CIVIL RIGHTS, his RIGHT of Association and a couple of dozen other offenses like assult and battery. TheSEIU Union needs to have charges and a hefty fine affixed to their rear end rtoo. But some OBAMA Shady Lawyer will move to have it protected due to some twisted law.
It's tme for soe=me Marxist resignations and some of them from inside the WH too.
Wow so maybe a a worst of a maximum of 1 year in jail and only a misdemeanor
Damn it used to be something like this would be a major crime and lot more jail time but if your an obama buddy they not only will not get that 1 year but more like 1 day.
Almost like the black KKK that held guns at voting booths and the blackhouse demanded they not even go to trial
