ACORN Hired People ‘Still In Prison’ Convicted of Identity Theft For Canvassing Voters
by Jim HoftNevada Secretary of State Ross Miller, a democrat, told Eric Shawn on FOX News that ACORN was hiring convicts still in prison -CONVICTED OF IDENTITY THEFT- for canvassing voters.
Ross said that by executing a search warrant at ACORN headquarters in Nevada the authorities were able to substantiate charges and have a very solid case against ACORN. They believe they can prove that it’s not just a few bad apples it went much higher up in the organization. Ross believes that ACORN and the regional director should be held accountable for the criminal activity that took place in the state.
Ross told FOX News that they found prisoners on the ACORN payroll:
Ross Miller: Obviously we believed that it went much higher on the food chain. That ACORN had a quota system in place and they were paying individuals this black jack. That encourages voter registration fraud and that is why it is important that we go after them and charge them criminally and try to obtain a conviction. They constantly say we have a bad apple. We have a bad a bad employee like most people do. Clearly that’s not the case. This is an organization that came to Nevada and hired people that were still in prison convicted of identity theft that were on work release programs for canvassing voters.
Eric Shawn: Wait a minute… Hired people that were still in prison?
Ross Miller: Correct. There’s a transitional housing facility, Casa Grande, down there. ACORN approached them. They hired individuals that were still in prison. Some of them were convicted of serious offenses, identity theft. A violation of state law that these inmates should not have had contact with people’s personal information. Those were the individuals that were our canvassing people.
This is not the first time we’ve seen convicts used for canvassing. In 2004 another federally funded far left organization America Coming Together was fined $775,000 in civil penalties after the election. ACT hired dozens of felons some convicted of sex offenses, assault and burglary – to conduct door-to-door voter registration drives in Missouri and other swing states. Seven of the ACT employees lived at Missouri halfway houses and at least four were later returned to prison.

Color me unsurprised. The Democrat Party has been using undocumented convicts for years. Most of them are on the House Ethics Committee.

I'm just wondering about the other 80% of illegal crap we haven't found out about yet. Why hasn't every single office, branch, and the owners private files been locked down and confiscated by court order by the FBI/State police? If this where the NRA or Heritage or Right to Life, there would already be people UNDER the jailhouse from the speed of it.

Why should it surprise anyone that ACORN was hiring people still in prison and convicted of identity theft. You can't just have Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck on the registration forms every time, you need some real sounding names too so it doesn't look too obvious that your cheating. In the past, taking on ACORN would have been like walking through a political minefield. Charges of racism and hurting the poor would have been the first weapons deployed by ACORN and its allies. This is probably why the Republicans never really tried to expose ACORN when they were in power.
Now all that has changed. Thanks to the work of Giles, O'Keefe, Breitbart and others, ACORN has been exposed as the corrupt organization it is, and public opinion has turned against them. This effectively neutralizes the weapons that ACORN can deploy against their critics. It may seem obvious, but this is why we're seeing more and more officials willing to investigate ACORN. We may have to wait for the Republicans to regain some power before the head can be severed from the beast. Until then, the beast has been hobbled and its threat diminished.

It's also important to note that the overuse and abuse of the Racist epithet as a counterpoint to valid critique has neutralized it. It'll be interesting to see what impact ACORN's problems have on the upcoming elections. Most polls probably have a built-in "ACORN factor." If Republicans do better than the polls indicate, it may be an indicator of what impact ACORN has had on past elections.

They have been up to this for years. Transparent and bold. It will stop only when we insist it does and prosecute the offenders. Offenders being those who did it and those who instructed it be done. Everybody talks about voter fraud in other elections and pay little to no attention to the outrageous and obvious crimes perpetrated against our own election process. Isn't it always helpful when these things 'come to light' AFTER an important election such as a presidential election. If we paid more attention to this it might help alleviate the pain of what we are facing right now and the inherent danger to our freedom and liberty.
And if we had listened to the Jeremiah Wrights and the Bill Ayers we might have had much more important information needed to determine who best to run this country rather than the attacks on the likes of a decent and accomplished woman whose 'companions' had little to do with Marxism, Radicalism and NOTHING to do with Weather 'Undergrounders.'

I had heard they were using the SS numbers of people who had died and made up phony voter registrations for people to use to vote. One person would come in, vote under one number and identity, then the exact same person would come in, AGAIN with a different number and identity. Over and Over

Well, the whole Congress is in the insurence industries pocket. Watch what comes out. When after WWI we became the only major country w/ employment based insurance, they setup a sweet racket. The way it works now is you and your employer pay them money for years. You get real ( expencively ) sick, guess what ? You can't work, you lose your job, you lose your insurance, you go broke paying the medical bills yourself AND THEN you qualify for MEDACAID, which pays the bills with TAX money.
