Review: Sarah Palin’s ‘Going Rogue’
by John P. Hanlon
On the “Tonight Show” recently, William Shatner dramatically read from the former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s new book. The scene made national news not because of Shatner’s comedic timing but because after he read from her book, Ms. Palin herself walked onstage and read dramatically from one of Mr. Shatner’s books to audience applause. Instead of standing on the sidelines in silence, Palin had decided to go on the show and respond in a humorous way to the comedic skit. After having innumerable criticisms leveled at her since she was chosen as the GOP running mate last year, Ms. Palin recently responded to her critics in her new bestselling book “Going Rogue” but the book is about much more than that response.
Since Palin was selected as the vice presidential candidate by Senator John McCain, many people have told us about Sarah Palin. Many liberals and some conservatives have attacked who Palin is and her experience. Many members of the media have joined in and they have tried to tell viewers what Sarah Palin stands for. Instead of listening to and believing such people, I decided to read Palin’s book myself to find out who she really is and if the media hype about the book was true.
The media hype suggested that Palin’s book focused on her campaign to be vice president. Some analysts seemed to believe that Palin wrote the book to justify her “going rogue” last year and to attack people from the campaign she felt had not served the campaign well. However, after finishing the book recently, I realized that the book is not a vengeful account of what transpired but Palin’s own accounting of her public life, including her bid to become the first female vice president of the United States.
Unfortunately, a lot of the coverage of Palin’s book focused on the few pages that were about Katie Couric or details about her discomfort with some of the aspects of the McCain campaign last year. However, the book focuses on a much broader history than what took place between her selection as VP and election night. A lot of the book takes place before Palin is even selected as vice president. (The media reports on the book did not focus on that aspect of the book as much though.)
The book thoroughly details Palin’s work as a city council member, a mayor, and as Governor of Alaska. In regards to her campaign to get the latter position, Palin writes about her campaign as an outsider to unseat a Republican incumbent. She was forced to run as an outsider with grassroots support and earn the support of voters. Palin writes that “We built a network of nonpolitical hardworking Alaskans who were tired of politicians bending with the wind …Every part of our campaign shouted ‘Change!’ ” She noted that the campaign had some similarities to Mr. Obama’s successful campaign for the presidency last year. Few critics, in writing about the book, mentioned that aspect of Palin’s story.
Palin also noted her take on the controversies last year and the campaign’s tepid response to them. In regards for the controversy about the budget for the clothes that Palin sometimes wore in the campaign, Palin writes that “the campaign folks, especially those who had vetted and chosen me, also knew the truth [about the clothes]. But as the story grew legs, they didn’t lift a finger to correct the record…the wardrobe fairy tale had become convenient” for those who thought that the campaign was about to lose. In the book, Palin presents a highly bureaucratic campaign where she was often told that she should not do some of the things that could have improved her image, including talking to the local media in Alaska.
She also writes respectfully about people on the other side of the aisle. She writes fondly about the 1984 Democratic vice presidential choice noting that Geraldine “Ferraro’s vision and efforts helped a lot of women reach higher than they’d reached before.” Palin also wrote about her efforts to attract Joe Biden’s attention before the VP debate. She writes that “I tried to catch his eye, to give him, I don’t know, a friendly nod, a thumbs-up, something to acknowledge that, hey, ultimately we’re all on the same team. Go U.S.A.!”
Many people have and will continue to see Palin’s book as a partisan piece of propoganda. Some liberals will dislike it and say that it is just Palin getting back against people from the campaign last year. Unfortunately, some of these critics did not bother to read the entire book before commenting on it so openly.
As a reader, I thoroughly enjoyed Palin’s entry into the literary world. Although I do not agree with everything the former Governor of Alaska stands for, I appreciated reading about her views and the work she did as a public official before she gained the national spotlight as a vice presidential candidate. In recent weeks, Palin has made some major mistakes, such as wading into the “Obama birth certificate controversy” but instead of focusing on such stories, people should not just follow the media accounts about Ms. Palin. They should read the book itself and find out why, for better or for worse, Palin has earned a reputation as a woman who is not afraid to go rogue.

Sarah Palin is a modern day Joan of ARc
I don't believe she will have too hard of a time finding a grass roots of non-political hardworking Americans who are tired of "politicians bending with the wind".

Sarah Palin is an opportunist that has no regard for her country or its people. Look how she abused her power in the trooper gate scandal. She makes up stuff then tries to clean it up with lies. She throws her allies under the bus as soon as she is done with them. She promotes hatred and bigotry. The pied piper of white trailer trash.
John, Excellent spewing of the socialist talking points. We commend your ability to ignore the truth for partisan propaganda. How's the Koolaid?
She’s being attacked by the left, the MSM, establishment Washington, “Republicans” (David Brooks), hmmm… Are they telling us something? …are they looking out for our best interest?
Going Rogue that's code for what we use to call Being a Red White And Blue American. Go Sarah and No Prisoners.
Serious question: I'm a huge Sarah fan, had been so even before she was plucked from (seemingly) nowhere to be McCain's running mate–and I'm not an Alaskan–never even been to the state, just had become aware of her record by keeping my eyes glued to the news and such. Yes, she had some unforced errors during the campaign. Nevertheless, I am convinced that she is the perfect candidate for the GOP in 2012.
What would be the best way to get involved with her campaign (seeing as how it doesn't officially exist as of yet)? I would be thrilled to be one of those people who get involved early on in one of these things, and help drive the candidate from one place to the next in those early caucus/primary states, such as Iowa and New Hampshire, and otherwise just generally pitch in as needed. I don't need much in the way of compensation–I'm pretty well off financially. I'm not a college kid, I'm a middle-aged man, almost exactly Sarah's age. However, when I look at her, see her speeches, read her book, I feel the same kind of enthusiasm that all the young hopenchangers felt last year.
Anyone can write a check (and I plan to do so). I would prefer to do much more than that, if I could.
I love how the hypocritical left accuse conservatives of the "politics of personal destruction" when they unabashedly practice the same. And when they get caught, they scream "RACIST"!
Here is a quote from my Female, Democrat Senator, Claire McCaskill of Missouri, put on her twitter account.
"If we printed the health care bill in regular size font it would be same legnth as Sarah Palin's book, but with more meat on the bone."
"Sarah Palin is an opportunist that has no regard for her country or its people. Look how she abused her power in the trooper gate scandal. She makes up stuff then tries to clean it up with lies. She throws her allies under the bus as soon as she is done with them. She promotes hatred and bigotry. The pied piper of white trailer trash."
Don't you find it curious people that those who have weak arguments, hidden agendas, or weak minds seem to always resort to name calling and or outright lies to articulate their views? The statement I quoted above is a textbook example of the discourse outlined in Saul Alinsky's rules for Radicals.
Thats all thay have. LOL
What makes you think she wouldn't quit once elected. I actually hope she is the Repiglican candidate.
Maid of Orleans? Excuse my ignorance, please explain.
ps. I can almost see the Superdome from my house.
John, "she promotes hatred and bigotry"? Could you grace us with a few examples?
your right they cant dispute what she says with facts or truth so they attack her same ol same ol lob tricks
I'm not familiar with the Repiglican party, John. Oh, right. You were just name-calling again.
Sorry.
I'd rather live free in my trailer than live in some god awful government owned project housing. [btw-I don't live in a trailer-just making a point]
She didn't quit, she just changed battlefields and reloaded.
She has you in her sights and she don't miss.
Have a happy afterlife.
Your argument goes full circle and exposes you for exactly what you accuse Sarah of being.
Your ingorance knows no bounds. Look at your messiah's approval rating and then mulitply it by 5 and add a minus sign…by the time 2012 rolls around ( if he makes it that far) he will be toast.
Orleans, FRANCE She was a French citizen. Burned at the stake.
hahahahahahaha
It's another name for Joan of Arc, it's in a book you can almost see on the shelf in your library…
Tina Fey is that you?
Pay no attention to John, he’s from the 57th state where being witless, and worthless is the goal.
She would be twice the President that Obonehead is!!
John, what on earth are you talking about? She did NOT abuse her power in the "Troopergate' scandal. It was all very aboveboard from the start. Only people who twist things around until the facts of the case are unrecognizable would consider her actions to be an abuse of power.
When I read about the various political scandals that get a lot of press in this country, I try to apply logic from my own experience to the narrative. If, from my own knowledge and experience, the story I'm hearing makes sense, then I believe it. If it doesn't, then I figure someone is trying to turn things around to suit their own agenda. From the start, much of the stuff that the left has accused Palin of didn't make much sense, if you just read the accusations. If you listened to the accusations, then listened to Palin, you'd understand that the media was just trying to discredit her.
John, you and your fellow travelers must be very afraid of this woman, which actually indicates a deep-seated concept that she may be correct. If you did not fear her, you would just ignore her. But the lengths that the left and their media lapdogs have gone to in their efforts to discredit Sarah Palin tell me that she is a force to be reckoned with.
~~In recent weeks, Palin has made some major mistakes, such as wading into the “Obama birth certificate controversy” ~~
Question to author: why should she not wade into something that is kept a secret from the American people?
THE MAN HAS MUCH TO HIDE. No records of any kind made public and more than 150 documented lies from his mouth, so Sarah Palin has a right to see his birth certificate just like I do and the rest of the country does. Plus, his administration started this with a forged BC posted by KOS. He was not vetted as were other presidents of this country, but Pelosi decreed him vetted and we are to believe her backdoor vetting process?
As far as millions of patriots are concerned, this man is a userper. Not only does he NOT salute the flag, apoligize to the world for us, kisses the terrorists butts, but is raping this country financially. So NO, it was not a major mistake for Sarah to get involved in this controversy. I hope she continues to be involved.
Wasn't sure if BigDadio was joking or just had the new public education with a re-write of history,
thus my answer to him.
Hey I am open to a "got ya"
Oh you Palin fans – never met a fact you liked, did you? She was found to have abused her power while in office. She was found to have been inethical in her spending. She has been found to be less than knowledgable about geography, politics, science, and our own consititution. Yes, she has lied, she has changed her story to fit the new circumstances, she has NEVER taken responsibility for anything that didn't go the way she wanted it to, and yes, she was right there spewing nonsense about Obama during the campaign, encouraging the awful hatred some of your fellow Republicans seem to live by. She's for less government unless it comes to people's private lives, and she has very little regard for rape victims (made them pay for their forensic kits in Wasilla), special needs children (reduced the amount of money recommended to them by the Alaskan legislature) and her own children (flew thousands of miles while in labor with a high risk pregnancy, constantly pretends other people want the poor baby dead, and constantly trots them out during state, campaign, and her personal doings, often insisting other people foot the bill for their being brought along, and frequently sets them to be the butt of tasteless tabloid articles and jokes.) She says she's just an average, real American, but she grossed a lot more money jetting around the country with her new book that any average American I know, and she's building a mini castle on her lake in Wasilla, at a time when many Americans are losing their homes. She's hardly worth all the constant mention she gets by the media she seems to hate (you know, the ones who keep her name in the forefront, who published her touring schedule for free, who allow her to constantly be "somebody") and she is no leader. Would a true leader of a free country ban the media? Would a true leader air her every day musings about issues she has no real grasp of on a teenage forum like Facebook? Would a true leader quit her elected position for truly dubious reasons? (Don't say she did it for the Alaskans – her quitting cost them money to have to install the new governor. If she was so concerned about saving them money, perhaps she shouldn't have stalled the release of public documents which had a way of proving she repeatedly violated ethics regulations she herself put into place.)
But of course, true Palin fans have excuses for everything I've said, and they will point fingers at me and call me a communist or a "libtard" (whatever that may be – sounds deragotory toward special needs people) and they will say I'm jealous of her. That is ignorant talk, and doesn't address any of the facts I've brought up. But as I said – Palin fans aren't big fans of facts.
You blew it when you suggested at the end that she should have not waded into the Obama Birth certificate issue. Did you bother to read your own source? It's every American's right to know if Obama is a natural born citizen. If he was he would prove it. He has pulled off the biggest Constitutional heist in history.
You have been found to be a fool and a liar.
Not really worth responding to.
You have to give the old media part credit for that too.
Being Mayor, as well as Governor, she has and had more experience in the real world than Obama will have until he eventually dies.
Had she run straight up for president against Obama she would have kicked his butt in the debates, pulled some of the women voters and we would be living in a much safer America on sounder economic founding, Jim
I would be able to take her more seriously if she had been against the bailouts.
Those who dare "wading into the “Obama birth certificate controversy” will be seen as prescient heroes when all is revealed.
Do you really think AKA Obama would have won the election if all the things he is hiding were made known?
Do you really think AKA Obama will be able to finish his first term if all the things he is hiding are made known?
If you are not suspicious of a man who hides his history I have a bridge in the desert I want to sell you.
If you are unwilling to call for an investigation of a man who attempts to sell you a bridge in the desert I have some beach front property in Florida at the intersection of I75 and Florida # 29 that I want you to buy.
If you place a down payment on a contract for the bridge in the desert and the beach front property in the swamp I would conclude that you voted for Obama.
Obama “I have nothing to hide but I’m hiding it.”

Oh… who cares Katie, get back to the 57th state!
hehe that must be the commonwealth of Stupidia. Seriously John why dont you go back to taking you medication. Your mother wants her basement cleaned as well.
John get you a three letter word, “jobs,” says the BBBB…Biden! Who cares what you think!
Ouch! Jeez, Katie, dial it back! I have to agree with 1sttofight. Your rant of DailyKos and Democratic Underground talking points is hardly worth a response. I did enjoy your comment that ours is "ignorant talk" yours are "facts".

Katie Couric said "Oh you Palin fans – never met a fact you liked, did you? She was found to have abused her power while in office. She was found to have been inethical in her spending. She has been found to be less than knowledgable about geography, politics, science, and our own consititution."
The statement I quoted above is a textbook example of the discourse outlined in Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals people, it is a pattern that emerges over and over again. The truth is victim as the end justifies any means.
Thats all thay have. LOL
just a suggestion: if you want anyone to wade through your screed, try dividing it up into paragraphs. Doing that will focus your arguments, too.
What, is this troll still here?
I guess his mommy's cellar has no windows.
Hey, troll, it's daylight outside. Time to crawl into your nest, toot a little something and wait for dark.
at the time of the bailouts, she was a vice-presidential candidate, and knew she had to back up her leader (ie McCain.)
Read the book two days after it was out, in two days. Great book and exactly as you describe. The reason we didn't hear more criticisms of the tome after the first few days is because there was little to criticize. Palin did her homework. The fact-checkers had nothing to work with. BTW, Palin herself wrote this book. She didn't hire a ghost-writer, as many pundits suggested.
You have my sympathy, you must have a terribly long nose!!!
Agreed. Too many folks are willing to go all wishy-washy over the birth certificate, death panels, abortion, redefining marriage and a hundred other glaring lies of the left. Good for her.
That would be Pinnochio. Katie is jut your garden variety troll, cutting and pasting comments from troll central (DailyKos.)
Just read her book and it will clear up some of your left wing bias. In fact you have just described Obama! He has done everything you describe and more.
Johnny boy … still stuck on stupid I see.
I think that was just a cut and paste job from daily kos or democratic underground.
Shame on you John Evans, you haven't the slightest clue you blathering fool.
Exactly, the shank job she did on our disturbingly corrupt republicans in Alaska has earned her the venom of all corrupt political hacks, one party or another.
Quick uptake on your part with the "almost" thing!
Good job!
Merry Christmas!
We love Palin.
Palin is like joy soap to diesel fuel when you compare to the huge news stars and politicians that are savaging this country right now. One drop, and they all scatter. She could de-slime D.C. like she did Alaska, all she has to do is want to. You creepy crooked lying thieving party hack types had better watch your back, both flavors.
There is a word that describes you John, it is the exact anatomical opposite of Brains. It also rhymes with one of the planets recently known to be a part of our Solar System. It is also obvious that you cannot read and cannot hear. Promotes hatred and bigotry? Your citation as evidence…???? I happen to have a Master's Degree in Counseling, and am hardly trailer trash, and I support her wholeheartedly. Sarah Palin represents what is good and admirable about Americans, You on the other hand represent…………????
If circumstances made her unable to do her job she should quit for the good of the country. There are lots of people who should quit. Charlie Rangel should quit. Chris Dodd should quit. Robert Byrd should quit. Mark Sanford should quit. Tim Geithner should quit. Ted Kennedy should have quit, both in '69 and in '07. Obama should have quit when he ran for president. Same with John McCain. But nooooooooooo. All these people simply took their paychecks while not performing their jobs. Palin's resigning was the decent, honorable, courageous, and right thing to do.
You had me until the birth certificate crack. What is it with conservatives who don't get the birth certificate issue? You need to read this..http://theobamafile.com/ObamaCOLB.htm.
(The United States Library of Congress has selected TheObamaFile.com for inclusion in its historic collection of Internet materials).
Take a gander at the fraud that is Obama's birth certificate. Sarah's right again.
The Sarah Palin "phenomenon" is really only phenomenal in current political context – which is to say, it's very odd to find a politician who has achieved national stature largely through the merit of their accomplishments and the consistency of their convictions, not through the convoluted workings of some party machine.
I'm a Republican, but a critical one – the last time the RNC called to hit me up for a donation, I said "No way – you guys dilute it supporting RINOs. From now on I'm giving only to candidates directly, candidates who ARE in fact, real conservatives."
I'm not an Alaskan, but Sarah Palin's career caught my eye way before she was picked to run with McCain. I was meh about McCain, until Palin joined the ticket. For the first time in my life I donated to a presidential campaign, and it was because of Palin.
The energy she brought to that campaign was real and important – her speech at the convention was simply incredible. Yeah, her delivery was great and her rapport with the crowd was personal, but you knew she had the substance to back up every word of it. You knew she wasn't just regurgitating some tired party boilerplate. She spoke to the hearts of millions of Americans who are really, really sick of "politicians as usual."
She was, in essence, inspiring. We don't have much of that in the current Republican party leadership ranks. We have effective, we have outraged, and we have poll-watchers, but inspirational is in short supply.
If she were to run for the presidency again in any form or fashion, I would join her team in a heartbeat. Most Palin supporters are won over by her genuineness, and as long as she maintains that, she'll have a powerful base. The MSM will by and large never support her because they advocate the antithesis of her political values – they condescend to the middle class and pauperize the poor, they despise individual liberty and initiative unless is it counter cultural or deviant, they adore bossy government, they believe in perpetual victimization as a means of building political support, and they disdain capitalism because they want forced equalization of outcome, not just opportunity.
Sarah Palin's core convictions fly in the face of all the liberal agenda wishes to force upon the American people, and that's why she kicks butt.
Sarah is a breath of fresh air in the smog that descends upon Washington every time Congress convenes. What the snarky East and West Coast elites don't seem to understand is that she has a first rate mind that is obscured by her genuine farm girl persona.
I've known lots of people like her from living in small towns and it is a BIG mistake to underestimate them, particularly their commitment, tenacity and will power when they take on a task. In small towns, one's word is one' s bond. You do not remain in the town's good graces if you renege on commitments.
Sarah's folksy speech mannerisms should not be taken as a sign of ignorance either. They are typical of what one finds in "Cascadia," that stretch of states and provinces that border the Pacific from Northern Northern California to Alaska. In ridiculing them, the elites don't seem to realize that they insult a vast swath of America that identifies with her and reinforce the perception that they think they are better than the rest of us.
I would venture to guess that by now, Sarah has read a volume or two of Constitutional Law along with other works in the reading list Charles Krauthammer indirectly suggested that she take up, and has quietly sought the counsel of old political hands.
I hope she has. I'm not sure if she is electable, but if she makes it, we can count on a stretch of honest talk from the White House and more than a few face-offs with the entitled classes who think they have some sort of God-given right to dictate culture, mores, politics, religion. style, and other standards of life to us.
"Palin fans aren't big fans of facts."
As the honorable former Senator Patrick Moynihan said, "You're entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts."
That's for you, dear Katie troll. Your entire non-factual screed is a wonderful exercise in oxymoronity.
Look, sweetie, its very simple…
I HATE BARRACK OBAMA!
Were I to come across him with two broken legs in the middle of the street, I would give him a tremendous understanding of how bone crepitus is an extremely painful thing…and when he passes out, I wouldn't be against reviving him and demonstrating it all over again…multiple times…
Even with all that, I have NEVER spent the time you and your fellow minions have spent over here running down a private citizen; than I EVER have expressing my utter contempt over the Fascist-in-Chief…
Which immediately leads me to only one conclusion…why are you allSO SCARED OF HER?
Could it be she leaves more of an impression of integrity on a soft cushion chair than Obama has for his ENTIRE life?
Thank you, John, for giving an honest book review. I hope your leftist readers will not throw you under the bus because of your careful review. I loved the book and although I am a faithful Palin supporter your comments were thoughtful and perceptive.
Run, Sarah, Run!
John, how much are you being paid by the Dems, to be a lying troll, or are you just doing it for the KOOL-Aid ?
Thanks for that Glen, that's exactly right, should could have pulled the paycheck and done her book tour and rode her term out and would probably have been reelected. She chose to break the vapor lock our local loons put on the Govs office and she threw a hail mary pass to her Lt. and he's running the play now,
It was the right thing to do for innumerable reasons. Her critics will always use it against her, it's boilerplate now, reduced to a sound byte/ talking point, just tired and repetitive now.
What makes you think that Obama, who has NEVER finished out the term of office of any previous elected office he held, won't get fed up with being president and somehow leave it, while still pulling down his paycheck; John?
The campaign probably doped her drink and hog tied her in the back of a van somewhere in order to keep her quiet while McCain 'suspended' his campaign and ran to DC to set the money on fire. I sincerely doubt she ever gave but the weakest lip service to the bailouts, no way she ever approved of that.
Man I hope so
You have a stupid Senator, who probably has Al Franken as a writer.
Newly minted, paid DEM troll? Gee, I hope the pay is better than your lack of ability to post.
PARAGRAPHS ARE YOUR FRIEND !
What did they do, hand you those talking points, but forget to explain how to post them ?
Very much so.
That works too, good one, I hope she gets that much tracation…
Neither was she struck silent, FOR YEARS, incapable of writing even one chapter, as Obama was, nor did she have someone else complete write her book, as Obama had Billy Ayers do.
"Look how she abused her power in the trooper gate scandal"
You mean the bogus charges tht were thrown out?
Sarah has had to fight off 15 Democrat-engineered "ethics" investigations- and she's 15-0.
And what "hatred and bigotry" are you possibly talking about? Christ, liberals are liars, and bad ones at that.
"She was found to have abused her power while in office. She was found to have been inethical in her spending."
Bullhockey. You Dems claimed that, and got your asses handed to when your fabricated charges wouldn't stick.
And the rest of your diatribe is the tired old TPM.Media Matter smears the Left has been making from the start about a lady who scares the living crap out of them.
Goodnight, troll.
Your Senator is nothing more than a petty, jealous nobody…We wouldn't even know her name if you had not mentioned it!
Metaphors, to work, need to be based on facts. There aren't really any similarities between Joan and Sarah, but a whole LOT of them, Maggie V Sarah.
Lady Thatcher was condemned for being a "grocer's kid"; Palin is condemned and vilified for not having gone to an Ivy League college/university and much more of the same silly stuff. It's still all bloody class warfare!
I'm glad you liked my version and as you do, I too am pulling for Palin to become our next president .
Have another one, and do some more thinking you do so well at it,
Although her demise came at the hands of the church in her country, meraphorically speaking that could turn out to be the GOP in this case…Tume will tell.
Communist, Libtard.
If Barry and Mo are examples of what The Ivies turn out ( and they are, for the most part ) then nobody in their right minds should ever pick a candidate to vote for, for ANY position, who graduated from one. Sure their are exceptions, but just look at the crop in D.C. and on T.V./the MSM, who proudly proclaim that they went to one; especially from the 1980s onward.
Sure, many of our early presidents went to those colleges, but they were very different back then and not all that many colleges were in existence.
Palin's "folksiness" isn't a put on; Obama's stab at ghetto speak is.
We need to judge people by their deeds, far more than their by their words; and it has to be THEIR own words……….not someone else's, to boot !
I voted for Sarah not McCain.
I would not have voted for McCain without her.
Yeah, what she doesnt tell you is that the meat all belongs to you… and you… and you… and dont forget… you! On the other hand, when Sarah wants meat, she tracks it, shoots it, dresses it, cooks it, and puts it on a plate for dinner.
Im not sure Senator McCaskill really wants to get into a "I can do anything better than you" argument with a woman who can do all that and still run a state government while she raises 4 kids.
You know, I have never understood the need to "hide" the birth certificate. It worries me more that his campaign website was set up in such a way that people all over the world could make contributions–which is a CLEAR violation of election law. Contributions were made in amounts that were obviously due to currency exchange (I mean come on, when you donate to a campaign do you donate $35.16? No, we Americans like our round numbers. Makes it easier to balance the check book right?). And worse, when it was pointed out to his campaign that they did not have the proper safe guards in place to correct this issue no one made it right. So we dont know if the money used to put him in office was legally available to him or if people from other countries truly meddled in our political affairs.
Course some true vetting and serious journalizm would have cleared that issue right up. Unfortunately we didn't get either of those things.
As concerning the "birthers" controversy, Sarah Palin was careful to distance herself from the birthers position.
But what she did say was extremely important: That people do have the right to ask, they do have the right of inquiry.
This confirmation of citizenship should be the very minimal requirement for the holding of this greatest of offices, and Mr. Obama's birth certificate, and the birth certificates of all of our former and future presidents, be forthwith opened and published and certified as an official public record, confirming to the People that they are natural born citizens of the United States of America.
All presidents have an absolute obligation to present to the people the evidence of their eligebility. That is such a simple thing to do. Does any president disagree with this disclosure?
There is nothing wrong for any citizen to ask any of his elected officials for their bona fides. That is simply because, We the People are the soverigns of this land. We simply have the right to know.
Your fear is showing. Big time. If she weren't your greatest fear you would be off somewhere making fun of someone else or worshipping your clay-headed tinpot marxist.
Wrong on every single point. Do you think you can keep saying something and it becomes true. Just believe and feel and somehow your make believe fakery will become real? YOU LIE!
OBAMA WAS NEVER CERTIFIED. First time as far as anyone has been able to determine that the paperwork was never processed. What does nancy with the stretched out face know that she isn't telling?
*I have 2 Ivy degrees. Not all of us are nuts. Some are. not all. Please remember even in some of the looniest blue states, there are 30-45% of the votes cast by us. I did however send my Ivy a letter suggesting they rejoin the Us and planet earth, to which they responded with a thank you and fund raising request form letter.
I always put it I closed my eyes I held my nose and pulled the lever for mc cain "but I was thinking of sarah the whole time"
Actually, Robert "Sheets" Byrd should die…
Oooh.
So much for McCaskill…
+1 to you for your rapier wit…
Sarah lives her life in a way most conservatives believe is right plus she has super energy and patriotism. If the republican party wants to keep the independent tea party members it will need to shift in a more conservative direction. Sarah Palin might just be the right conservative to provide that direction. I doubt she could garner media support for POTUS but, she won't need the media to lead a consevative republican party. I believe her talents might best be used as the chair of the RNC.
I think you'd be pleasantly surprised that lots of *PUMA*'s have jumped ship because of Sarah. The ones that are now in her camp are hardcore supporters.
****crickets******
Interesting note I did not know until recently. Her byline *An American Life* is from the title of a Reagan memoir. Makes ya go hmmmmmmmmmm.
Your passion is why I say she's got IT.
