Revised Version of U.S. Constitution Found In DC Cave: The Dead Potomac River Scrolls
by Jeff DunetzAt Washington D.C. news conference, held at the Offices of the Center for American Progress, archeologists working for the Smithsonian Institution have announced an incredible discovery, a revised copy of the U.S Constitution dated 1790. This document was passed by the original 13 States with the intention of supplanting the version ratified in 1788. The Chief Archeologist on the project called the document “the Dead Potomac River Scrolls,” because they were found in a previously unknown cave on the bank of the Potomac.

According to the scientists, a 13-year-old boy named Zach Emanuel was walking his dog near the river, threw a stick and and heard some glass shatter. He followed the noise into the cave and found the document amongst some broken beer bottles left over from some ancient beer summit. Scientists determined the cave was once occupied by some ancient cult of prognosticators. Also found in the cave was and old mens-style tutu and some leftover yarmulkes from Rahm Emanuel’s Bar Mitzvah.
The cult known in history books as the Progressenes, wrote the document in English and it begins with an amazingly prophetic preamble,
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a Union even more perfecter than we did two years ago, do ordain and establish this brand spanking new Constitution for the United States of America recognizing that the document approved in 1788 forgot to talk about social justice.
The over-all document is very similar to the Constitution passed in 1788, it just adds a few things:
- Under the census provision it adds, “if a large group of foreign nationals come into the country illegally, they are to be counted in the census as not to appear racist.”
- The executive branch articles include a provision that says, “The President is to enforce all laws equally except in the case of radical organizations such as the New Black Panthers or other African American organizations trying to intimidate voters from voting the wrong way. Housing organizations that commit voter fraud by registering illegible voters multiple times, cartoon characters, or the deceased are not to be prosecuted, as long as they are named after the seed of an oak tree.”
It is quite amazing the way these Progressenes were able to see into the future.
Beyond the prophetic articles and preamble, included in this revised constitution was a document called “The Bill of Other Rights Which Corrects the Original Constitutions Wrongs,” these included:
- There is not only a freedom of religion but a freedom from religion
- The right to health care unless you are a senior (sorry grandma)
- We were only kidding about the right to bear arms
- There is a right of Unions to be bailed out even if the government has to take over the entire automotive industry
- The right to high speed internet is guaranteed
- The government has the right to control free speech on the internet and talk radio
- There us a right to come into the country illegally as long as you promise to support the Progressenes
- The President has the right to play golf during a crisis, especially if petroleum is involved
- The government has the right to redistribute income
- There is a right to be a terrorist or to hate the United States as long as you work with a future president
Some skeptics will tell you that this document is an obvious forgery, I can even see CPAC Blogger of the year, Ed Morrissey use this story as part of his daily Obamateurism of the Day feature. But anybody doubting the pedigree of this document is obviously taking a bipartisan effort and trying to interject partisanship.
For proof of its validity, just look at the fact that this document has already been endorsed by the administration. This is the administration that told us Joe Sestak wasn’t offered a job, there were no earmarks in the stimulus bill, Obamacare would reduce the deficit, and there would be absolutely no new taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year, why should we stop believing them now?
Perhaps the best reason to believe that this document is real, is the fact that the provisions of this revised constitution were put into practice when Barack Obama became president. If these provisions were followed without a supporting constitutional document, the press, who is counted upon to be a watchdog over the government would scream bloody murder, and they have been totally silent. You see, it has to be real! The document also provides an answer to those who claim that Barack Obama is some sort of socialist trying to over-turn the US Constitution. Based on the newly found document he is a strict “constitutionalist”.
According to the archeologists, there are more documents in the cave, specifically court precedents supporting the revised constitution, a new version of the Bible that strikes out any connection between the Jews and the Holy Land, and a history of Chicago politics, all of which will be released as soon as they are examined by the new Archeology Czar, scholar Bill Ayers.

Now it all makes sense…
You closed the article strong. Liked the Archeology Czar piece.
For more good political satire, check out this one about Michael Steele (Republicans and Democrats will like this one):

is that the same cave they put the old constitution in? leave the old, get the new. does this one also say banning books is fine, as long as you don't actually do it? does this say, the bill of rights are now brought to you by the progressive party, and subject to change at a moments notice? also does it also say the right to bear arms, just not the ammo to put in them?
NO FAIR. I was reading this believing every word of it….until it got to Left over from a Beer Summit, everyone knows that back in the 1700 most Beer Summits were in Germany, not the US. HA! So there.
LMAO this was great, thank you. Sad but very funny.
Dictators never pause to write "constitutions" until they have usurped all laws to their advantage, done away with what is held dear to the people and then, against majority public opinion keep thumbing their nose in the face of overwhelming evidence that what they're doing is failing and continue on course. They also create kangaroo courts in the favor.
Hmm, maybe we've already reached this point.
Was the discovery made while Soros, Podesta and Obamao were rubbing lotion on each other- in their lack of manliness cave?
I almost choked on my pasta salad….but thanks for a much need laugh. If it wasn't so sad, it would be hilarious
Really its not April fools and I was scared for a second..lol I wouldn't put ANYTHING past osama and his crones.
I have a suggestion for the good use of that cave.
Put the current Administration in it, and seal it.
Nuts…Lure the present administration into the cave, then roll a big boulder to seal the entrance!

Sure why let the Constitution as it is written get in the way of what progressives really want. Those founders were so old fashioned and couldn't possibly know how enlightened liberals would be today. Of course, they know better. We should all just bend over and take it! NOT!!!
It was written in ebonics.
You know if this were cleaned of some of the obvious sarc, it would get picked up by the MSM in a heart-beat. Wouldn't that be just too much and too expected???
They (the progressives) have been dreaming of something like this to vindicate their twited vision like it was the holy grail
I love it…..just like the left…hey lets re-write history so the left does not look stupid and show the people all this socialist crap has been tried before and failed..
nope, let's send them to the moon, on a one way ticket! let them change that when they get there, that is hope i can believe in
Funny but sadly rings true!
no that one has been shredded…remember it is fundamentally flawed and of no use to the Progressenes.
This sounds like a perfect press release for April 1st. Gibbs MUFFED IT.
Gutfeld would have been the first to report it if that was the case.
And I get dinged for forgetting the sarcasm button on my comments… Now though I wonder if the MSM will pick THIS story up and run with it. Corroboration? Crap, there's a picture what else do we need?
My thoughts exactly – it should have been released on April 1
Another "note" about American history by Michael Bellesiles no less.
Bellesiles won a lying contest once about early American gun-ownership, but was demoted to clown job of the century. Aparently he is still at it.
The ass clowns in DC wouldn't know the Constitution if we slapped them in the face with it. And we may do just that.
Actually back then America actually made some good beer… Like Samuel Adams! Wasn't until the Prohibition that we lost that and ended up with that really crap canoe beer.
A lot of times, political satire goes right over my head. Like it did again just now. I got about half way through it and my eyes glazed over. Sorry.
We must remember our modern progressive twits are much wiser than Jefferson, Madison, Jay, Franklin, etc. They risked so much in gaining that wisdom, denouncing their families, their country, but keep the money flowing…mind you!…while walking around unshaven in the summer of ’69, simply fearless…I tell you. So seriously dude, that new constitution is the shit!
Release the Kracken!
This is hilarious, and then I realized the prospects of standing next to a racist gutter snipe as appealing as doing Helen Thomas’s next pap smear. Still, I'm rotflmfao….
great story
Great article. Made my day. Unfortunately it rings too true. Need to add the right to share in the wealth of those who would dare take advantage of the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.
Thanks
I feel much better now.

I am humbled by the discovery. I will burn my flag and replace it with a flag with the picture of dear leader on it at once.

Dang it. If Dan Rather was still on 60 minutes, he would have broken this story. I feel bad for the guy now, missed it by just a couple of years.
Please don't confuse liberals like this. We will probably see some of them dancing in the street with joy and preparing new court cases based on the recently discovered Constitution which they find a vast improvement over the old one.
You KNOW you're right about that, SK. Morons. Cool spoof, though.
Hopefully, after this "taste" of Progressiveism, it will drive the liberals out of government until sometime in the next millenium.
I had a perfectly nice evening going. Now I am nauseous.

So if you DON'T count illegals, you won't know how big the illegal alien problem is?
It's OK for the white Minutemen to show up at minority polling places with semiautomatic weapons and the Bush Justice Dept declined to prosecute?
So you don't want freedom from religion? Come to my Catholic church and confess your sins to a priest, pray to the saints and never, ever use a condom.
Grandma's healthcare was in the original Constitution?
The only federal gun restrictions were enacted under Presidents Nixon, Reagan, and Bush Sr.
The UAW was given part of GM's assets in exchange for giving up $20 billion in benefits for retirees that otherwise the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (taxpayers) would have to pay.
The government has never proposed regulating speech on the internet, but the radio band belongs to the people and is licensed to stations to serve the public interest of all Americans, not just to broadcast GOP talking points.
Simply amazing what the Obamabots "will find".
Pepto, anyone? ROFL.
You need to freshen it up and get in on the LSM — They will probably report it as truth.

Jeff, does your cheek hurt from having your tongue there so long? Oh man, I needed that belly laugh this morning. Thank you.
Dude!
OK, that was funny, thanks, these days one appreciates a good laugh.
1. I think the point is they shouldn't be counted toward the states population, for obvious reasons.
2. Your comments on the "Bush Justice Dept" not prosecuting is misleading, unless you can give me better sources that I could find. The only real source I found was Media Matters which gave other sources. None of said sources even mention the doj being involved. So what evidence was handed over to them? Was this all he said she said things? From what I can tell this fails to compare to our current situation where they had an open and shut case and then we find that the white house may have directly influenced the dropping of the case. Unless you have better information than I, this is just a Media Matters talking point with little weight behind it.
3. We don't have to go to Catholic church because we have freedom OF religion. That isn't our religion. So we are free not to go. I'm confused on how you thought this point helped the case of "freedom from religion".
4. Grandma's healthcare isn't in the constitution. Good counter point. That point from the article definitely should not have been in there since it isn't in the constitution which is what most of the article seems to be about.
5. Your comment on federal gun restrictions is not accurate…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Firearms_Ac... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Assault_Weap... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brady_Handgun_Violen...
Did you just assume we would take you at your word? You either flat out lied or have absolutely no idea what your talking about.
6. UAW is a selfish organization that took and took until it collapsed an industry giant. They were illegally given part of GM's assets. Sure GM had other problems, but you can't compete when your employees have you by the balls. They should have not received anything from taxpayers or GM. If you support a union that demands unfair wages, then you deserve to lose some of your pension benefits. I work for the public sector and you won't see me trying to force them to pay me more money.
7. There have been no actual pieces of legislation that I know of that try to apply the "fairness doctrine" to the internet, but there has been talk about such a move. In the end I suppose it's all about how much you trust congress. I believe people have a right to be suspicious of an attempt to apply "fairness" to the internet. You could be right though, there may be more hype about it than there is substance. Still, talk about it is there from our elected officials.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/02/17/fairne...
If you think that radio stations simply broadcast GOP talking points, then you obviously don't listen to them. I listen to talk radio and on a regular basis I hear attacks on the GOP. I mean ALL THE TIME. One particular host I listen to in the morning who is very conservative, has attacked Glenn Beck and other conservative hosts for their missteps. I also hear big name hosts attack the GOP regularly. You are way off the mark on this one.
Heck, he might have even typed it up himself!

Great job, Mr. Dunetz!
I bet Chris Mathews gets tinkle on his leg when he reads this!
I'll supply the thousand tons of concrete !
Like…totally!
I read all these comments and many more comments on other articles and cannot for the life of me figure out who actually voted for Obama. The ones that claimed they voted for him at the time all claim now, they were just kidding
Sorry about number 5…I used a newsmax source by Richard Poe http://www.reformed-theology.org/html/issue11/don... Nevertheless, after Reagan was shot, he was an advocate of gun control through the Brady Foundation, as were the other presidents I cited.
Despite the rhetoric, it is extremely rare for illegals to vote or attempt to do so. They live here stealth and certainly would not risk the a felony of being caught just so they can vote. From a practical matter, even if they are counted for apportionment, few would vote, giving the legal citizens of such districts relatively more political power, and a greater share of federal funds. So it's really a backhanded advantage to oppontents of illegals to count them as such.
I agree that the UAW has been greedy. We have some excellent non union auto plants here in the South. But the Feds (taxpayers) are on the hook for pensions on bankrupt companies (just like bank deposit guarantees) and it's better to how them a piece of GM for a $20 billion reduction in pension liabilities. If the new GM fails, the retirees still lose $20 billion in pensions.
Radio is terribly unbalanced, and criticism of the GOP is that it's not conservative enough. http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2007/07/im... Cable news can do what they want, but talk radio using common airwaves, and the present situation is as unfair as allowing only conservative truckers to use the highways.
The so-called government internet takeover opposition is an good example of how people like Glen Beck, knowingly or not, have become tools of big media companies. Classing the Internet as a public utility, like phone service, would mean that Internet service providers CANNOT regulate content. I know many people, from both ends of the specturm, who have been cancelled by AOL or other internet providers for SOMETHING THEY SAID. Right now you install Internet Explorer, you get directed first to MSN (run by MSNBC) Right now, there would be nothing illegal about Time Warner Cable (CNN's owner) blocking access to Fox news! Many ISPs already limit how much data you can download or throttle your speed EXCEPT for services that they own. Naturally the ISPs don't want to have a law that they be required to offer all content from competitors on an equal access basis. The fearmongering by Beck has got to be the most baffling position taken by a conservative.

A blogger that I don't remember which one took the Declaration Of Independence and replaced some words and found out it fits today's situations. Go through it yourself and replace "…of Great Britain…" with "Obama" and just a few other words, then read it. You will be amazed how relevant it still is. For those who don't want to do this I have included it below. I color coded it for words replaced and important parts that REALLY apply to today but the blog doesn't take colors. I sent my copy to all three of my liberal politicians, but the conservative politicians would like to get a copy too. Send it to anyone you think would be interested.
So much win here.
Thanks for your civil and engaging replies.
First Reply Response – Perhaps you are right that it is better for UAW to get part of GM rather than have us pay for it. I don't know enough on the issue to say either way. I'd have to research further.
Second Reply Response – I don't disagree that radio is unbalanced. After all they are conservative talk radio stations and openly so. And you are correct that usually the criticism of GOP is that they are not conservative enough. Though any corruption, hypocrisy, and other unbecoming behavior is also targeted. Of course it is all different from host to host.
The point I was trying to make is that they are not puppets of the GOP as it seemed you were making them out to be. They are free thinking radio stations. At least the ones I listen to here are. They should be allowed to say whatever they want to say. The only reason I would see a need for government imposed balancing is if there were no more bandwidth slots to buy in an area. Thus you would need to make room for any liberal stations that may want to be in the area. As far as I can tell there are plenty of channels available. If a group wanted to start a liberal based talk station, they are free to do so. The fact it may not make enough money to survive doesn't mean you need to force other radio stations to broadcast the views of others. If there are people wanting to listen to a particular viewpoint, then there will be no problem having a successful station. You can't force people to listen to what they don't agree with.
Also, attacking conservative radio is complete hypocrisy. It is well know that the majority of universities that receive federal money are liberal and allowed to teach liberal viewpoints. Radio stations don't receive any federal funding. Not only that but newspapers are known to be mostly liberal. Yet you don't hear talk of forcing balance on them. No, instead you hear talk of bailing them out because they are starting to fail. The majority of TV news has a liberal slant. When do we stop? It is not the governments job to force balance on the speech of any person, company, religion, or group. In fact it directly goes against our constitution. Yes the airwaves are public which is why you have to buy a license. But the companies and stations that broadcast do NOT receive any federal funding, and therefore are not a public entity. Should we also start giving X amount of time to racist groups, X amount of time to communist groups, etc. After all there are a wide range of views in this country. If it is only fair to force time for one, then isn't it necessary to force time for all views? That isn't freedom of speech.
I'm confused on your conservative truckers comment. Maybe you could be more clear on what you mean?
Third Reply Response – I understand why people want to force "Net Neutrality" on the internet. When you talk about net neutrality alone I wouldn't necessarily disagree. But if that means labeling the internet as a public utility then does that not mean it would be open to the "fairness doctrine" attacks that are currently being made against talk radio? You can't attack talk radio because it uses public airwaves, and then convince us it will all be ok to label the internet as a public entity as well. Now I haven't researched this topic much at all. It wasn't one of my main concerns. I don't KNOW that they are trying to label it as a public utility, I'm simply going by what you said. But if they really just want to force net neutrality, it is not necessary to label it a public entity to do so. Just make a law that requires internet companies to treat all data equally. The fact they want to label it a public utility just makes me suspicious. And can you really blame me? What good is freedom of speech if the left keeps trying to label every major form of broadcasting "public" and then claim that means they can't say what they want. You'll probably think that's just paranoid, but the proof is in the pudding as they say.

Progressenes- way too cool. I love that writing style.
People need to know history. All you have to do is look at what went on in Athens TN in 1946. I am not calling for violence but when you lose control of the system, bad things happen. What would the U.S. do now had those people at that polling station had reacted the same way the Brave men in TN did in 1946?
The DOJ is WAY out of touch on this as alot of GOOD AMERICANS are waiting for the same legal ramifacations for the B.P.s as if they were K.K.K.. members.
