"On this occasion, we renew our pledge to stand with free peoples and people who seek to be free."

Hopefully Cuba will be the next one to fall. If we could keep the American socialist celebs from propping the Cuban ego up it may happen sooner than we think. Michael Douglas, Sean Penn. What little men.

Great post. That sounds like an interesting job in the military! You may have another word for it, but that just fascinates me. I bet you have some great stories.

I was in the military, in Germany, up until just before the Berlin Wall fell. I wasn't really surprised, although I was pleased. I was an imagery analyst, and had regular information about what was going on inside Russia. I could tell by the way the Russians had given up on things they had previously considered important, especially on cleanliness of their factories and other work areas. There had been little or no "clutter" in these work areas in the 70's and early 80's, but by 1987 clutter was everywhere, even in the more prestigious military equipment plants. The Russians had just plain given up on ever having a better life, and did less and less. Things aren't much better now, from what I can see on Google Earth. Productivity is directly linked to compensation, regardless of what the Left wants us to believe. Compensation in Russian industry was too often based upon party membership. Productivity reflected that (and to a point, still does). The same can be said about GM and Chrysler, and quite a few other unionized businesses.

To bad the prez didn't go, but maybe he was paying them back when he wasn't invited before he was elected,

sounds like obummer to me, I am not a Bush fan but obummer is poison for the US in all ways.

Freedom’s hard work, you have to get yourself up in the morning, for the Marxist just this is a nonstarter. Freedom requires responsibility for ones own actions, a firm line between right and wrong, good and evil, this doesn’t fit with the professional student, and his or her school boy moral equivalence arguments. Freedom requires the courage of your convictions, when you make a legitimate commitment to another person it’s to be kept, love of family, love of country. Freedom isn’t free, It requires free men and women to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign or domestic. Freedom, more and more, is becoming a catch phrase for statist to pilfer from the achievers to sustain the parasite class to be free to be worthless. We have much work to be done, if the greatest country the world has ever produced is to survive it’s latest onslaught. The enemy is inside the wire and it’s our own frightened countrymen scared to risk anything for their own sustenance. God help us, and God Bless America!
