Sen. Mitch McConnell: Americans Don’t Approve of Anything Obama Has Done
by Heritage Videos
In an exclusive interview with the Heritage Foundation, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had strong words for President Obama:
“My view is he’ll have a hard time convincing Americans he deserves four more years of this,” McConnell said. “There’s nothing he’s done the American people approve of, so of course, he’s trying to change the subject.”
He was responding to the President’s remarks earlier this week in Kansas where he claimed conservative economics have “never worked”.
“He’s totally wrong as he is on many things. Conservative economics do work. … The president is trying to pit one set of Americans against another. He’s trying to turn this election into anything but what the election is really about. … This election is going to be about his performance, and if the election were held tomorrow, he’d be going into another line of work.”
In the interview, Senator McConnell also discussed the national popular vote scheme and steps the Senate might take to push forward on the delayed Keystone XL project.
The interview runs about 6 minutes. Hosted by Rob Bluey and produced by Brandon Stewart. For more videos from Heritage, subscribe to our YouTube channel.

Thanks mitch ! Do you and speaker bonehead feel the same as We the People do about obamasoros.
Agreed, most people have had enough of the Fascist and Furious administration.
"Conservative economics have never worked"
Yeah, denial ain't a river in Egypt Mr. President….
"Conservative economics have never worked." – Barack Obama
"Barack Obama has never worked." – We the People
Tell me it isn't so! One of the biggest rhino stupid party poster boys actually making sense?! Get the heck outta here!
Hey Mitch, after we toss obambi out on his butt we are coming for you next. That's a movement I can really open my wallet for.
In 2008, barack obama ran his campaign on "Hope and Change."
For 2012, the new slogan is "Hate Your Neighbor."
THAT'S gonna go a long way towards victory……………………for Conservatives.
Every time I see an Obama speech I'm amazed at how stupid he thinks the American public is. Then I remember, he got elected, didn't he?
I can imagine all the low foreheads nodding in zombie-like agreement at his every word and it makes me not so hopeful….
There is yet even more happening in Washington you need to be aware of. DHS/FEMA wants to know which Americans have food storage so the federal government can at some future point confiscate that food. Just as with lists of gun owners, compiling such lists is the first step toward future confiscation.
DHS wants to identify those Americans who are "switched on" and squared away enough to actually store food for coming hard times (such as during an economic collapse). That population of awake, aware, and prepared Americans poses a "threat" to whatever DHS and its masters have in store for the American people, and as Joseph Stalin so ably demonstrated, one of the easiest ways to subjugate defiant people is to confiscate their food and starve them into submission. When purchasing supplies use cash! They cannot see these type of purchases.
"The time is near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves."
George Washington
The only thing I see both government parties accomplish was filling their own pockets and rewarding their friends.. Our country is occupied by illegals that are destroying the private sector middle class. Our borders are not secure thus the war on terror is a LIE.. our country is drowning in debt … where is the progress???
Somebody doesnt like the truth. This guy is a pos who has been in the senate since 1984. He is a big part of the problem. He gets "conservative" every election cycle and then… Face reality friends, he is as much a poster child of corrupt bought elite hack as is Kerry or Frank.
Best all day Doc.
Meanwhile, Barry keeps bringing his family into the national discussion:
“Our kids are going to be fine. And I always tell Malia and Sasha, look, you guys, I don’t worry about you — I mean, I worry the way parents worry — but they’re on a path that is going to be successful, even if the country as a whole is not successful…." (Shocker, I know)
Thanks, Marine ! – it's still early, I'm sure my wise & witty fellow commenters will top it no problem… ; )
The citizens of this country better adopt ''Re-elect NO one'' as our patriotic them if we are to survive. We have to completely start over. Then term limits.
Since I have been accused of being an occupier, when in truth I am free and unaffillated … I will give a list of my demands.
1.end gerrymandering, all public funding of political parties, and all election laws and practices they give a party advantage over another.
2.. end the income tax.
3. send illegals home and secure the border.
4. do not touch SS until there is nothing left to cut..
now you have list of demands
Yeah, there seems to be no shortage of drones….
Thanks to the NEA….
Neither has Keynesian
How old is the War on Poverty? 48 years
How many trillions have we spent? God only knows
How many people are still in "poverty" (on WICA, kids in head start, big screen TV in the trailer)?
Enough to keep reelecting Dems we guess
We can change that pretty easily, though, Mr. Obama. We can put you in jail for the remainder of your life and let your kids hard-scrabble like you're forcing the rest of us to do.
Exactly! Heck I am even starting to doubt Allen West, he sure is quiet while voting rino lately. Clean House!
YOU BETCHA!
Any 'real' American can now see that this fraud…and puppet of the Bilderberg…Obama the Bush…has only one agenda from them…DESTROY AMERICA AT ANY COST AS FAST YOU CAN!
I believe that America was to be the first to fail economically…not Greece!
He had deadline after deadline…to get it done…and he almost did complete his mission…but he failed…big time!
And the reason this puppet did…America…is because of 'real' Americans who fought back and fought back hard and continue to do so and will never, ever give up fighting as long as we have breathe in our bodies!
GOD BLESS AMERICA THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE…AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF JUDEO/CHRISTIANS PRAYING TO KEEP HER THAT WAY!
Better just get used to working with the mean black man Mitch. He's going to be with you for a long time. At your age, you might even be retired before he leaves and President Clinton takes the oath of office.
No DUH,maybe it's because everything Obama has done is UN AMERICAN.
It's true that few people approve of the Obama administration. It's also true that people aren't crazy about the do-nothing Senate.
And the media. Let's not forget that Barrak Obama is nothing more than a celebrity. His brilliance and air of regality were shoved down our throats to the point where if you didn't fawn over him you were considered mildly retarded.
Meanwhile the adults were looking into his background to see what his qualifications for leadership were and what his policies were and guess what? When the adults saw that he had no business with the keys to the crapper the media went into full retard mode to convince everyone he was a savior.
Now they're doing it again to us and I'm not convinced there is someone out there worth it to oppose him.
McConnell's deal-making on the payroll tax cut is see-through. If the his caucus can't stomach tax cuts for the middle class, they should stand by the idea there is no "trickle" to a middle-class tax break.
That great and timeless quote from the Iron Lady is true indeed…..
"The problem with socialism son, is sooner or later you run out of other people's money"
I've asked the Sorobots here to name a SINGLE thing Obamugabe has done that they like and can defend. I've asked this perhaps 20-25 times. I've yet to receive a single response.
Left-Wing Economics = Communism.
Communism has always failed.
Liberal Economic Model = Laissez-faire, which is the current Conservative View in the United States of America.
Must read book!! Dinesh D'Souza, The Roots of Obama's Rage.

Be honest for once Mitch. It's not the American people who disapprove of the president, it's you. You and your bagger buds. We are going to take a poll next November Mitch. We'll see then what the American people want.
Succinct, accurate, apropos…
No reason to try to improve on your comment. It sums things up quite nicely.
Bag it double bagger!
sheer genius mitch..
what gave it away for ya ?
….The Dimocrat 'shellacking' in 2010 showed what the American people want…..
…..2012 will finish it off with the Obumbler eviction……
Although I don't hold McConnell in high regard, he is spot on here. The GOP in both Houses need to be more vocal and stand in fierce opposition to ZERO's aspirations. They need to take issues head-on and go straight to the American people bringing sunlight to ALL of this administration's atrocities on a daily basis. Too many crickets!
Okay, I'll give Mitch kudos for being more vocal on Zero's shortcomings. A lot more Repubs should be out there doing this! We need flank speed or full afterburner (for the aeronauts out there) in our attacks on this fraud in the White House until next November!
Personally, I like the tactic of including Keystone in the bill. If, as Zero says, he vetoes the bill, he's denying thousands of jobs. By including it, it is a kinda' round about way of paying for the payroll tax cuts. Yeah, I know, the increased revenue from all those extra jobs doesn't go directly to SS but, neither does the payroll tax, really.
The only drawback, as I see it, is that Zero will not veto the bill (I suspect he will not) and he will point to it as his contribution to employment in his campaign speeches! You know, as well as I, that's exactly what he will do!
Here they are folks, Socialists/Communists in America and government. Some will admit it and some will deny and hide:

Question: Are you a resident of KY?
Are you a resident of KY?? I am and unless you plan on using ACORN to cast more votes in KY your prattle is nothing but Liberal mouth wagging.
I will agree that Mitch has been much too timid over the last 10 years in regards to fighting Liberals tooth and nail. I have written him multiple times expressing my desire for him to be more hard lined. Compared to what we have in KY serving as governor and Mitch’s counterpart John Yarmuth be happy that Mitch is there. If a hard core conservative came along and ran for office I would support him but in KY they are few and far between.
What's worse, I just heard that Paul will likely run as an Independent, if he doesn't win the primary….
I'll bet there's Soros money behind that….
Good job, Mitch. Way to tell it like it is. The election is going to be a referendum on Chairman O, and the fact that he is continually saying it's not tells me that the Left is shaking in their boots at the thought of the 2012 election.
#worstpresidentever
Senator McConnell is lying. I am an American and I approve of some of Obama's policies. I approve the finding and the killing of the monster terrorist Osama bin Ladin. I approve the removal of a very evil American enemy ruler in Libya, and I approve of the use of drones to find and kill thousands of terrorists on the Afghan/Pakistan border.
I would hope they'd be successful. After all, we the taxpayers are spending a fortune on their exclusive private school education. As for Barky and Mooch, let 'em eat cake.
"This election is going to be about his performance, and if the election were held tomorrow, he’d be going into another line of work.”
It damn well better be breaking big rocks into little ones for at least 40 years.
No, far worse, MA.

The government exists for only two reasons. To protect the Homeland, and to enforce the laws.
Nancy promised to drain her swamp. She failed and was replaced. All the voters want is competent representation in the best interest of all legal Americans. Give it to us or you will be replaced. We the People are the democratic process of this Republic.
Unlike some of the liberal left. The conservative right is not about looks, affirmative action, diversity or words. It's about qualifications. Work experience, proven record, character, responsibility, empowerment, leadership, trust and being a legal patriotic American citizen. Vote Intelligent and replace your representative if they are not competent enough. Vote them out if they cannot stop the waste, fraud, abuse or balance a budget. Vote them out if they will not enforce our current laws.
Vote them out if they refuse to go to work and act like Flee baggers. Your actions and voting record, not the letter R or D will determine your real identity. Voter's look in the mirror and determine your agenda. This is where We the Voter's have gone Wrong every time. Don't blame the party, vote out the corrupt irresponsible unethical individuals. Independent voter's flip flop too much, which causes our political process not to have any direction. Pick your platform and fill, replace, and refill with competent representatives. Intelligent voter's, Hold your line (Platform). Hold politicians responsible and accountable to your platform, and their promises.
A government that lowers taxes and maintains a low cost environment for business to succeed. Consumer spending creates business demand. Business growth, and creates real jobs. Working individuals pay taxes. Politicians balance tax income with public services. Economics 101
You and your team will get another crack at it Mitch, and of course you'll blow it.
Prog supporters were lobotomized during public education, stupefied by heavy doses of entitlement addiction, or employed by the government.
Notice Obama's support level hovers near the percentage of Americans who receive government services without paying income taxes. For good measure, add the population of radicals and upscale elitists. The political math for progs is obvious enough. Increase the count who receive public money by entitlements or by a government job paycheck, and you create a perma-majority that is immune to election cycles.
Break the cycle, here and now. We are standing near a point of no return.
Paul Rahe found something nice to say about Obama with which I can actually agree!
"Barack Obama has done for the United States what John Lindsay did for the city of New York. He has brought us to the edge of bankruptcy, and he has made us look into the abyss – and he has compounded the problem by saddling us with Obamacare, which grows less popular with time….
I have said it before, and I will say it again. Barack Obama is a gift to the friends of liberty. He is the sort of man who gives a bad cause a bad name."
Wash: Where did you hear of this? It's hard to imagine how they propose to go about something like that, but little would surprise me anymore with this crowd of dangerous radicals.
It's for all the marbles, so Obama will pull out all the stops. While he plays the divide-and-conquer strategy using class warfare rhetoric, his supporters will mobilize the usual array of dirty tricks…voting multiple times, voting by unregistered voters and illegal aliens, by dead people, get-out-the-vote movements for felons, numerous pep rallies for indoctrinated and naive youth, suppression of votes of military personnel overseas. And of course Occupy attempting misdirection and diversion on the side. It's going to be a real hoe-down.
Taxes are the lowest in 60 years, and corporate profits are the highest ever, but where is the trickle down?
This the very reason I felt important enough to post it. I generally do not want to be an alarmist, but I confirmed my suspicions at a few of my personal and reliable recourses. The warning signs are everywhere.
Well, which Americans are you talking about, exactly?
half of those polled approved of income tax increases on discretionary household incomes of $500,000 or more annually, said the poll sponsored by two marketing and publishing companies.
For those earning $1 million or more annually, 65 percent of respondents said they would support income tax increases.
Only 23 percent of respondents said they support tax increases for households making $250,000 a year.
The poll was conducted in September by the Harrison Group, a research and marketing firm, and American Express Publishing Corp., a media subsidiary of American Express Co. It surveyed 769 respondents with minimum discretionary income of $100,000.
Only 43 percent said tax increases would improve the overall economy, while confidence in the economy dropped from 50 percent in September 2010 to 33 percent this year.
The poll found 55 percent of those surveyed do not blame the Obama administration for economic woes.
Obama has called for tax cuts to expire for households earning $250,000 a year. The president is also looking to pass a new levy that would tax Americans earning $1 million or more a year to ensure they do not pay taxes in a lower bracket.

The working class! Washington has a spending problem. Tax cuts don't increase deficits anymore than tax increases decrease deficits. Deficits are decreased by spending less. I wonder how many of the folks who quote this nonsense have ever budgeted their own money. If they find they are spending more than they take in, do they demand raise from their boss?
No President of the United States can create either a budget deficit or a budget surplus. All spending bills originate in the House of Representatives and all taxes are voted into law by Congress. This means Bill Clinton did not balance the budget, the Republicans did.
Democrats controlled both houses of Congress before Barack Obama became president. The deficit he inherited was created by the Congressional Democrats, including Senator Barack Obama, who did absolutely nothing to oppose the runaway spending. He was one of the biggest of the big spenders.
Well, well, well…..since the Democrats have controlled the purse strings of congress since 2006, it would appear that Obama is merely continuing the slow destruction of our economy that was started by the democrat's. Why is it they can't take the blame for things when they go badly as fast as they take the credit "if" things go better? Oh, and by the way, unemployment was under 7% near the end of the Bush administration, the deficit was actually only about $400 billion, and the government wasn't in the car business!
“Free market capitalism is the best path to prosperity”
A spending-cuts-only approach is regressive in that it forces the brunt of deficit reduction on the backs of poor and working families while ignoring a prime culprit of the budget deficit: the expensive, ineffective, and unfair Bush-era tax cuts. These top-heavy tax cuts added $2.6 trillion to the public debt over 2001-10 and will add $3.8 trillion to deficits over the next decade if fully continued. [EPI, 9/26/11]
Bartlett: Revenue Has Been Historically Low Because "Taxes Were Cut In 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006." In a July 26 New York Times blog post, Bruce Bartlett, former policy adviser to Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush,

Former Bush Economic Adviser Samwick: "Tax Cuts Have Not Fueled Record Revenues." In a January 2007 blog post titled "New Year's Plea," Andrew Samwick, former chief economist for George W. Bush's Council on Economic Advisers, wrote:
'You [in the Bush administration] are smart people. You know that the tax cuts have not fueled record revenues. You know what it takes to establish causality. You know that the first order effect of cutting taxes is to lower tax revenues. We all agree that the ultimate reduction in tax revenues can be less than this first order effect, because lower tax rates encourage greater economic activity and thus expand the tax base. No thoughtful person believes that this possible offset more than compensated for the first effect for these tax cuts. Not a single one.' [Vox Baby, 1/3/07]

Federal Debt: Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
http://www.gao.gov/special.pubs/longterm/debt/
Well, the GAO is for higher taxes as a tool to lower deficits.
'This article, which appeared in the GAO Review, Vol. 19, Issue 2, Spring 1984, placed the Federal budget deficit in a historical context and presented overviews of the policy decisions and social choices that affect the budget. The relationships between the deficit and a slowed economy, inflation, higher interest rates, and the investment of foreign capital were explained. Each of the major components of the budget was discussed from a historical, social, and political perspective. Finally, the article suggested that slowing the increase of expenditures and raising taxes are the primary options to bring down budget deficits. It was noted that, while in the short run certain groups would be adversely affected by these options, in the longer run the Nation as a whole would benefit.
Of course they will say that. DUHH! They are government after all. The only reason I use them as a source is they are the record keepers. So, I only look at that numbers versus the propaganda.
Where shall we get the money to pay our debts….
Lets look at the following list of departments, NONE of which are authorized by the Constitution as a function of government:
The Department of Labor, which does no actual labor, has spent $102,157,000,000 this fiscal year; as of June 2011
The Dept of Education, which educates nobody: 46,058,000,000
The Dept of Energy, which produces no energy: 25,766,000,000
