ObamaCare: Opposition Is Now Bi-Partisan

Haley Barbour (R-MS)House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to force a vote on the health care bill this week, and people need to contact their representatives to urge them to vote “No.” This legislation will force tax increases, it will increase the cost of health care and it will force cuts to Medicare benefits. If that wasn’t enough, the House leadership is resorting to procedural tricks to pass legislation that most Americans don’t want. It’s just bad medicine.
Any legislation which will impact one-sixth of our economy ought to have support across a broad political spectrum. The only thing bi-partisan about this legislation is the opposition to it.

The CBO is relying on incomplete numbers because the crypt keeper and the penguin refuse to let Doug Elmendorf have them. The numbers are incomplete and unreliable over time and he states that in all of his projections related to this White House' legislative agenda. Go back and do your research, the debt will explode to 21 trillion by 2020 and only 7 million "Americans" will be covered.
Reread the report and while your at it read all of the others and you will see a pattern of incomplete data.

IF abortion is not the forcible ending of a human life by extracting it from the environment in which it developes, then abortion is elective surgery. Perhaps it could be classified as a lumpectomy or weight reduction? Whatever morally relative title you assign, it is either murder or elective (unless the mother's physical life could end in the process of childbirth which is another debate) surgery, none of which I should have to pay for. If I have to pay for your abortion, you get to pay for me to have my ta-tas put back where they used to be. (FYI- that was an example, I don't intend to surgically alter my breastline for cosmetic reason no matter who pays.)

In my state, they just lost a bill that would have put a constitutional amendment on the ballot in November that would have protected the citizens from this mess. All "no" votes where democrats.
Also lost a bill last year for another opportunity for the citizens to protect themselves from the proposed card check legislation. Only one democrat voted for it. Amendments require 2/3s approval.

Thank you Governor Barbour for being a vocal opponent to this kind of legislation. We all need to be more vocal as it seems our so called representatives in the federal government have selective hearing where the will of the people is concerned. Those "representatives" at the federal level need to understand that not only are the citizens against these bills but that their state representatives are also sounding off against it accordingly. It's mildly reassuring to know that at least at the state level we still have people willing to represent the will of the people rather than their own agendas.

I would defer to Congressman Bart Stupack (D) who is a "no" vote on the healthcare bill because at least 2 provisions provide back-door funding for abortions. One through tax credits and another through payments directly to providers. Again, people have a choice, but I will change my quote from above so that you and others like you don't get the wrong idea: I do not want to pay for someone else to end a life unless that life is ended after a jury trial in a court of law!

I do NOT consider health care/insurance a right. It is a responsibility first of the individual, and then the personal choices made by those in the person's community, not the feds. Your personal insurance policy or health care costs are not my concern unless I choose to write the check. Currently, we are being misled (in the vernacular, suckered). The original stated goal of this legislative effort was to bring a single-payer system to America. Obama said it, the people in his party said it, his political philosophy in which he has been raised, and the religious philosophy in which he was steeped said it. Call things by their names. Be intellectually honest with yourself. If you support this bill this is what you support. Easy. At this point, we are asked to support the vilification of an entire industry. If health insurers are the villians, the govt will save you so that the government can control your health care. If reducing the cast of health care is the goal, why is everything about how much insurance companies charge? If the examples of people being abused by insurance companies are trotted out by you and they turn out to be frauds, I refute your entire premise. This isn't rocket science.
If covering the uninsured is the problem, why are they not doing that? This bill will leave a great number of those legally in America, who unwillingly do not have insurance still uninsured. Oh wait, they have completely quit talking about those numbers.
Kucinich signed on as a yes for a reason. HE knows it is the first step to federal government health care. Anyone with a background in addition and subtraction can (if mentally willing) understand that taking $500 m from anywhere in the Medicare program will leave that amount unfunded. It is coming from medigap. The medigap unfunded part will die. (Also damaging health insurance companies.) Those people will have to go somewhere…govt health care. The same happens when you add more bodies to private health care insurance roles. Bodies= cost. Pre-existing conditions= exponentially more costs. With costs rising, the insurance company profit margin of 3-4% shrinks. When I as a stockholder see no growth, indeed an impending loss, I sell off my stocks. When the institutional stockholders see the same thing, they sell their shares. They hold larger stock blocks and usually lead the buy/sell trend.
If this is easy, then you already know the outcome. If you don't get what I am saying, read it over a few times maybe make a diagram on a notepad. This will cause the insurance companies to fold. An investor will not buy it because it is an unwise investment. That leaves the govt to buy it or let it fail. It would be stupid (and not strictly Constitutional) for the govt to buy it, but neither has ever stopped the Progressives in any political party from seizing the opportunity to latch on to more power over the people. Failing, insurance as we know it goes away and the govt steps in. We have federal control over our lives at that point and there is no way out. We are the last bastion of true personal freedom on this earth and what scraps of it remain are being chained by this bill.
Why is charity the government's job? That destroys the community and the individual. I know the difference between charity and enabling, the government deliberately enables. The fact of that lies in the many private organizations with successful track records of helping people to move out of poverty, vs. the track record of govt programs. I am tired of being called all kinds of names by people who just want my money so they can buy fealty (the political class) or avoid personal responsibility (my fellow Americans). That is what this boils down to. To get my money, you have to force me by gun or by law, it is the same result. Any means to justify the end.
Already, when I see an Obama sticker on the back of a car, I think “It's your fault I am losing my freedom. You want the fruits of my hard-earned labor. You are lazy, selfish and mean." Then I realize I haven't talked to the person and have to change it to, "maybe they just didn't read his books and understand that he is all about big government and having us be socialists."
How much more are you willing to work/pay to live so the government can control you? Do you know any people who are welfare lifers? That is essentially the direction the Progressives are taking us. I live in the great state of Idaho. Yesterday Gov. Otter signed a measure requiring our AG to sue the federal government if congress passes health care reform. Gov. Otter is the first State Chief Executive to sign such a bill. Similar legislation is pending in 37 other states…..Hang in there everybody, we are not going to lie down and take this lightly!
