Fear Factor: Sarah Palin and 2012
by Dr. Gina LoudonRecently, I attended the Conservatives for Palin, and I gained some insight I think conservatives want to consider moving forward. The group was not like any I have ever known. There were all kinds of people there—Christians, Jews, Hindus, women, men, black, white, Asian, and even Nordic! They were gay, straight, old, young, republican, democrat, libertarian, and independent, and they all had one thing in common…they believe the stringent adherence to the US Constitution is the answer to the problems we have today.
Even if they are quiet, there are those conservatives who struggle with a female president. Dr. Dathan Paterno, noted psychologist and author says the reality is, that there WILL be a woman president in the near future—that it is in the American psyche. What happens if conservatives choose NOT to nominate Sarah Palin? Certainly the liberals will nominate a woman soon, and then they continue the whining about sexism that has worked for them for so long.
Liberals and establishment politicians of all parties seem to have a special venom for the former Governor of Alaska. If she is really so “unelectable” then why all the fuss? “Thou doth protest…”. If she is really so laughable, then why do the jokes about her keep falling flat? Could it be that they obsess about her for the psychological reason that they can’t stand the threat she poses to them? Could it be because they see her as the greatest threat in recent history to their personal goals, and the establishment media and messaging they have used to control politics in this country for a generation? Could it be that the nomination of Sarah Palin for President is a revolution?
Her nomination presents a real conundrum for liberals and establishment parties of all stripes. If the Republicans nominate Sarah Palin, how will the liberals continue to accuse the right of being sexist? Where will the feminists go to find their beloved glass ceiling victim status? If she has outspoken gay supporters who don’t disagree with her stance that this is a Judeo Christian republic with a founding document that matters more than someone’s sexual preference, then how will the militant gays continue to relegate Christians to radical, homophobic, hating extremists? If a family woman, a mom, can (based on her Christian principle) in fact love someone that the liberals say she hates, then what do liberals do with that? If the constitutional conservatives progress this nation to nominate the first female nominee for president, then how do liberals continue to abuse labels like “progressive” and “tolerant”?
Conservatives have their own issues. First, from a GOP perspective, consultants use their experience with the apparatus to be hired by candidates to run their campaigns. How will they do that if someone climbed to the top on a different tree? Some conservatives may struggle with her rebuke of legalistic philosophy in lieu of one that favors real liberty, and Christ-like love, even for those who live or believe differently than you. Perhaps most difficult for some conservatives to admit–When a woman like Sarah Palin is President, how to we reconcile our own sideline behavior without tremendous guilt? I wish I had a good answer to that last one.
The militant liberals don’t like her, but interestingly she has attracted a broad group of people who do like her. Their loyalty has resulted in an organization that is so talented and proficient, it is difficult to comprehend, even to a seasoned campaign veteran. Her supporters are constitution loving, focused and very, very serious about supporting her (or whomever she taps with her magic winning wand)! Not everyone at the Conservatives for Palin were certain she would run, or that she should, but almost all that I talked to agreed that if she did run, the Country would be shocked at her savvy and self deprecating ability to do so. They all agreed that she is far stronger, far more capable than any of her opponents even know. She is certainly well vetted, beyond that of any other candidate. Most people would agree that no other candidate has endured the ridicule and jabs that Sarah has overcome.
Her critics say she does all she does for money, but with two books and a television show, that argument doesn’t hold any more water than the fame argument, or the power hound. She just won 71%+ of the elections she touched, and many were considered “unwinnable.” She has become a culture icon of sorts. She could take her lipstick, shoes, glasses, mama grizzly, and even barracuda labels, and she could probably start a fashion line and retire to an Alaskan island with a lovely view of Russia.
The liberals have always underestimated Governor Palin and she has continued to shock them as she seamlessly wins elections like a political Houdini of sorts.
All of the accusations about her motives tend to leave the listening public with one logical conclusion: She must be in this because she believes in what she is doing, and genuinely cares about this Country. That is not a half bad motive by most peoples’ standards, and it is hard to argue otherwise and sound rational.
If Sarah Palin runs and wins, it will certainly be a political analyst’s dream to observe. Fear is not a factor for the Palins, and they seem to enjoy the challenge of overcoming all the predictions about their family. They might just shock us again in the weeks to come–and the ones after that.

And yet, that is the reason why the media smears her. Not to mention, no one on the left will debate any of the issues with her much less anyone else to.
I wish more conservatives would get behind Sarah Palin. I think she would make a great leader, but, I hate to say that I don't think she has enough support to get elected. =(

The debates have been a joke for years, all we get is one sound bite after another.
If there was 10 seconds of substance in a debate it would be a great leap forward.

Sarah Palin is closer to our frontier heritage than most of us, and it shows. No blue-blood, high-toned pretentious pedigree with the Washington-establishment political machinery. Just independent, tough, blunt, plain-talking, principled common sense. And look at her multiple successful endeavors since running as VP: She is also shrewd and thinks effectively outside-of-the-box — useful qualities in these unusual, dangerous times.
I believe her when she says she is motivated by what is best for the country and not personal ambition. Whether or not she runs, whether or not she is the best candidate, she helps direct the national dialog where it belongs, and articulates beliefs shared by the heretefore silent majority of Americans. God bless her.
The election is not for two years. Don't underestimate her

Many people have heard of Michael Savage's line that "Liberalism is a mental disorder".
Yet here is the FACT most are unfamiliar with.
In August 2003, The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) announced the results of a Federally Funded study, paid for by YOU the taxpayers at a cost of 1.2 million. The conclusion was that people who believe in traditional values- such as monogamous marriage, balanced budgets, strict interpretation of the Constitution, are mentally disturbed.
How is that for skewing information?
The Constitution and Christianity are to Liberals like garlic, holy water, wooden stakes and silver bullets are to vampires.
She may not have enough support….. yet but with the likes of Mitt (I'm a Socialist RINO) Romney she'll get more support in time for the election. Another bright spot is the Left will incur massive aneurysms when she announces, THAT will seriously deplete their numbers.
To that it would be, but I have yet to find but a few on the left who are actually capable of any serious debate. All that they have is either their way or the highway and if you bring in facts, they will ignore them or call it a conspiracy. Then on top of that, when they realize they are wrong, it ends up going into racism, smears, and insults on top of insults to avoid the topic.
But you are right, if anyone on the left could offer a solid debate with no BS, then that would be such a great forward that we might actually beable to fix problems instead of aviod them and cause more.

Palin, Sean Hannity and Karl Rove, all FOX contributors, are among their favored speakers; and the Tea Party’s likely candidate for president, Sarah Palin, is now surrounded by such predictable neocon advisors as Randy Scheuermann and Bill Kristol. Even with her insipid, ungrammatical phrases about reducing the size of government, Palin already looks like an updated, feminine and feminized version of what the GOP has been running for president for decades, with neocon approval.
I think the leftist attack her because she is the face and voice of the Tea Party and attacking the TP directly, millions of people that have very wide spread support, is a very foolish tactic, so they attack Palin–indirectly attacking the Tea Party. When they paint her as a stupid, unwashed hick from Wasilla they are talking about us flyovers.
I relate to her but that doesn't mean I want her as President, I want more experience with the same fearless attitude as Palin.

Her belief in first principles is all that I care about, and love of the great Reagan. Whether or not she runs, or gets elected, she’s good for the country. Palin has a big problem in the State of Texas. She supported Perry. On a more personal note, I haven't heard her take a hard stand on illegal immigration or refugee status immigrants. She hasn't said what to do with all of the illegals who are already here. Saying we need to follow the Constitution is easy enough to say. As long as we have no way to ensure that only American citizens vote it is all just talk.

Palin's very existence threatens the chokehold that liberals have maintained over the "feminist" movement. Never before have I seen such orchestrated and viscous attacks launched against a political figure. She is a self-made, happily married, attractive woman who loves her down syndrome child. The socialist liberals will stop at nothing to destroy her, which is why people like me will do everything possible to get her into the oval office.
None of us can tell the future. Look what has happened in the last two years. I would enthusiastically welcome a future where enough citizens believed in constitutional government that it would carry Mrs. Palin to the White House in 2012.
But for that to happen, well, it would be a very interesting time in between.

But reading it with a critical eye, there really isn't much substance we don't already know, such as her current "king making" powers, the obvious Sarahphopia of the left, and perhaps her most important advantage of being arguably the most vetted person in US history who is not only still standing, but standing victoriously.

Now Tim Scott, another new black Repub. in Congress has decided not to join the black caucus. He said that he wants to go on his own merits. That strikes me as more objective.
I want to be convinced that skin tone does not come first with a candidate. Look at Obama with his outreach to muslims. His school records from indonesia listed his religion as Islam. He denies that but the records were photographed and shown on TV while Obama was there.

Sarah was good in '08, almost taking clueless McCain to victory. But she is far more savvy now. She and her family not only weathered the smear blitzkrieg, but came out stronger. She owns the media in spite of themselves. They still think they make the rules and supply the essential story line Sarah just spread their breakfasts all over their faces with the 57 states jab. Not only is Palin underestimated, so are her supporters. The Best and the Brightest are not in the Ivy League, they are the radicals who think the Constitution is an integral source of our country's great success. I've been jokingly saying for years that the extreme hatred for Christianity (usually among self-described atheists, but a lot of liberals seem to qualify) "proves the existence of God," in that there's something almost spooky about their knee-jerk reaction(s) to all things Christian that cannot easily be explained by "normal" emotional-response mechanisms — something (gasp) other-worldly/under-worldly. I think the point is pretty well made by their tolerance and acceptance of Islam in particular, and most other religions in general, except for Christianity, as though Christianity is "threatening" to them personally.

The limousine liberals and the establishment republicans simply do not know what to do with this "white trash" woman from a "no where" state like Alaska. There has really never been someone like Palin on the national stage before. Actually, what we consider "conservatism" now is classical liberalism. The Founders were liberals, and the conservatives of their day were the loyalists and royalists. The terms "liberal" and "progressive" (in their political definitions) are synonyms, and the five general political labels — "radical/far left," "liberal/left," "moderate," "conservative/right" and "reactionary/far right" — are not precisely definitive they are fluid, depending on the time and place, and what conditions prevail now and what had prevailed previously (a "conservative" or "reactionary" in Moscow today, for example, would be a hard-line communist, while a liberal would favor capitalism and democratic reforms).
