The audit says that toll dollars From the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway were spent on items ranging from an employee bowling league to employee bonuses for working on birthdays and holidays.

The biggest expense uncovered in the audit was $30 million in unjustified bonuses to employees and management in 2008 and 2009 without consideration of performance.

Then there’s Obama’s “home town” of Chicago. Illinois got $242 million in stimulus wasteful spending for the weatherized assistance program, WAP (to the taxpayer it feels more like WHAP!). Chicago received $91 million to weatherize 12,500 homes.
…a new report by the Department of Energy has found serious problems in stimulus-funded weatherization work — problems so severe that they have resulted in homes that are not only not more energy efficient but are actually dangerous for people to live in. (emphasis mine)
Department inspectors visited 15 homes that were being weatherized by CEDA and paid for by stimulus funds. “We found that 14 of the 15 homes…failed final inspection because of poor workmanship and/or inadequate initial assessments,” the report says…

Contrary to the nonsense Chris Mathews spewed the other night, this is what the tea partiers are mad about. It’s not that they want NO taxes, NO government, NO safety net and NO healthcare. The Tea Partiers I know simply want limited government, less spending and more freedom.
They don’t want to be forced to give over their hard earned money for wasteful, and often unconstitutional, spending. However, they are very compassionate people and willingly donate their money and time to help those in need. They are great at working together to get things done. It’s how they’ve become successful. They are the mothers in the PTA, the coaches of the little league teams and the presidents of community service clubs.
They also earn their money by helping other people. They understand that the way to become a rich capitalist and get everything you want is by providing other people with everything they want.
And not by wasting other people’s money.

Physician, LOL! The average air traffic controller is responsible for more lives in a day than 20 physicians COMBINED!!! You are probably one of those primary care docs that spends a whopping 10 minutes with each patient, then tells them something they could have figured out from reading Web MD or refers them to a specialist. Hell, in all honesty, in my experience, the average auto mechanic spends more time trying to diagnose and fix problems than the average doctor. If the x-rays, MRI, or CT scans can't show the doctor what the problem is, they pretty much just give up and BS their way through the rest. They'll tell a patient that the problem is all in their head or some other garbage rather than just admit they don't have an effin clue! They sure as hell won't spend a few hours thinking and researching for the answer!
I'll give you a personal example of my experience with a sh*tty doctor. I had an orthopedic doc do arthroscopic knee surgery to fix my knee pain. It didn't help, and I had to go through rehab to get it back to normal but still had the pain. I went to another doc, saw his PA, she gave me ONE frickin cortisone injection, and I haven't had the knee pain since!!!! So, the PA did a better job of fixing my pain than the sorry-ass orthopedic doc that was probably just trying to get as much money out of me as possible! Of course if he had listened to me describe the symptoms and actually observed that I had a small area that was swelling up, maybe he could have spent a few minutes thinking about the association between swelling and imflammation, and said, "Hmmm, maybe I should inject that area with cortisone since a corticosteroid does a great job of reducing imflammation!" But sadly, Dr. Cuthappy didn't do this, and both I and my insurance company had to pay for the unnecessary surgery! And I say that HE is what is wrong with our health-care system!!

They would staff facilities with very few controllers in order to maximize profit, and aluminum showers would be the result! ACME ATC would take over, pay a CEO 20 times what the FAA Administrator makes even though the Administrator has far more responsibility than the crony CEO, and then proceed to immediately skimp on safety measures in order to maximized profits. Hell, the village idiot Bush appointed an FAA Administrator that tried to run the FAA like a business. Instead of having at least 2 controllers in the towers on midnight shifts, they were only using one. What was the result? Crash in Lexington Kentucky when a moron pilot took off on the wrong runway and the controller was too busy doing other duties to see the pilot taxi to the wrong runway! Heckuva job Marion! Have you heard of Walmart share dividends? That's on profit. Thats' a bad thing for you, but in the real world profit is a good thing. It keeps our paychecks from bouncing.

We have a stable country. We don't need to throw everything out and start over. The things government is supposed to do, like defense needs to have stability. The department of education deciding if soda machines should be allowed in local schools? That's 'scrap em' time in my book. The cabinet positions should actually do what they are intended for. Department of energy? If they don't create any then 'boot em'!

Nope. Can't think of a single time. Liberals have about as much economic sense as 10-year-olds. And I honestly don't believe growth and wealth for the lower middle class is something liberals value. I think they see the working class as a resource to manage and exploit, like livestock.
Republicans controlled Congress from 1995 through 2006, except for 2001-2002 when Democrats had a one seat advantage in the Senate. From 1998 to 2001, when the president was a Democrat, there was actually a budget surplus. Before that, when Congress and the president were both Democrat, there were deficits. After that, when Congress and the president were both Republican, there were… deficits.
At no time, even when there were surpluses, was there a decrease in the outstanding national debt, government spending, government revenue, size of government, number of government programs, number of laws and regulations burdening the people, number of government employees, decrease in government interference in private affairs, or an increase in overall freedom. Republicans say a lot of very cool things, but things just keep going in the same direction.
Republicans have acted a lot like Democrats. But there is hope. In this year's primaries a few of them got fired. Hopefully in 2012 a lot more of them will get fired. Wouldn't it be nice if the same thing would begin to happen within the Democratic Party?
Spend some time at a V.A. hospital. You would be amazed at the redundance. It's mostly the clerical and administrative personnel. Their sloth-like enthusiasm and snotty attitudes would get them fired from a normal job. The doctors and nurses are overworked but unbelievable dedicated. They have saved my bacon several times. They were also mostly polite and respectful. That is usually a 'get what you give' situation. everybody has a bad day every now and then. Nothing but love for my doctors and nurses though. That would be the OKC V.A.
