Breitbart Didn’t Hide Sherrod’s Redemption and Other Things the Media’s Gotten Wrong So Far
by Guy BensonAs the mainstream media trips over itself to analyze and re-analyze the Shirley Sherrod controversy, Andrew Breitbart is under fire for ostensibly unethical behavior. Andrew is more than capable of defending himself, but I wanted to offer a few quick thoughts on this imbroglio:
(1) This President often decries the 24-hour, hyper-reactionary media cycle, yet his administration responded with warp-speed to toss Sherrod overboard. Can it now safely be asserted that the Obama administration “acted stupidly”?

(2) The administration’s thoughtless abandonment of Sherrod indicates a hair-trigger climate of paranoia about all issues racial within the West Wing. It seems J. Christian Adams’ whistle-blowing has taken its toll, and Team Obama is nervous about the degree of scrutiny its racially-tinged political machinations have received. On the heels of the New Black Panther kerfuffle, another major race flap just wouldn’t do–thus, a low-level African American female was deemed expendable, and was unceremoniously dumped. The White House now claims they didn’t press for Sherrod’s dismissal, yet is apologizing to her. Hmm.
(3) MSM critics are pouncing on Breitbart & Co. for “smearing” Sherrod by exploiting out-of-context remarks. As others have noted, many of these same critics were remarkably mute as the ACORN videos were revealed, yet eagerly jumped into the fray to prematurely crucify James O’Keefe when he was arrested in Louisiana. These duplicitous observers were also conspicuously subdued as Andrew Breitbart beat back the “N-word” accusations invented by the Congressional Black Caucus. The story selection speaks for itself.
(4) Did Breitbart really excise or ignore the exculpatory portion of Sherrod’s remarks? The initial version of the video included Sherrod’s change-of-heart conclusion that she ought to engage in class warfare rather than race warfare. Her subsequent remarks (the ones that were supposedly edited out) simply built on that theme. Also, does anyone really believe that Andrew Breitbart would intentionally distort a video clip to make a one-day splash? Risk his growing reputation with a deliberate, easily refutable distortion? For those clamoring for more careful consideration of context and intent, perhaps they should contemplate those questions.
(5) There’s also a largely unspoken racial double standard at play here. I agree that many people–especially the White House–rushed to judgment in this case. While I’m certainly not here to argue Ms. Sherrod should have lost her job over the video, she did openly discuss her impulse to discriminate against a man because of the color of his skin. She described the agony of being “faced with having to help” a white man. She also told her NAACP audience that she decided to refer the white farmer to “one of his own kind.” It’s worth asking: Would a white federal employee ever get off the hook for making similar comments to an all-white audience?

Excellent points in the article.
Breitbart is a Big Boy, and I'm a betting man. My money is on Breitbart,
Who cares what the MSM reports. They don't report the truth.
I trust Andrew Breitbart completely with his side of this story, the White House acted stupidly.
Speaking of money, Andrew Breitbart offered $100,000.00 for the left, the Democrats, and the MSM to bring forth tapes to prove the racial incident at the Capitol during the Health Care Debate. There have been no takers.
I'll up the ante,
If they can produce tapes proving that, I'll put up $125,000.00 with Andrews one hundred. That is $225,000.00; a quarter of a million dollars. That should be enough to get a leftist to step up….
How could we also forget the President's knee-jerk condemnation of "stupid" Officer Crowley in defense of his Harvard chum Dr. Gates? Oh, the many teachable lessons from the Oval Office.
"Can it now safely be asserted that the Obama administration “acted stupidly”? "
YES you can
Speaking of money….
Try $13 million on for size–where the heck is the coverage on this one?????
and while they're at it, why not fully examine the Pigford vs USDA I and II lawsuits fully honestly and factually. I have researched this matter, for last couple of years-ripe with corruption.
FYI-Sherrod and her husband's group New Communities, Inc, got $13 million settlement in the Pigford vs. USDA lawsuit.
Sherrod and her husband got $150,000 each for pain and suffering-total $300,000. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/E....
more here-more claimants than there were farmers http://www.agri-pulse.com/uploaded/20100527%20Pig....
Conservative estimates are that Pigford I and Pigford II cases will cost the taxpayer in the neighborhood of $1.3 TRILLION. It appears that Sherrod's group settled under the Pigford I group.
Obama Budget year 2010 included $1.25 Billion for the Pigford case-and this just for the class action suits-automatically granting each individual $65,000-this figure does not cover separate lawsuit claimants. this $1.25 billion for BY 2010 is on top of the over a billion already spent for Pigford I cases. the case that keep settling ,re-opening and giving and giving and giving. Legitimate cases fine-but there are more claimants than there were farmers.
I have researched the Pigford case for a couple of years now-wish you guys would cover it-the original case was settled in 1999 and then it was re-opened after the case was settled-thus Pigford II.
wish this could see daylight-it is interesting.
Several thoughts…compare the speed with which this acted to what's happening in the Gulf. Odd the difference in speed.
Another thought-wasn't Jealous PRESENT at the NAACP dinner at which this happened? So wouldn't he have complete knowledge of the speech when it happened?
Again-Wasn't the tape marked NAACP? From the way it looked, it was originally filmed by the NAACP, which would mean they had the whole thing ALL ALONG.
Another thing- I heard Sherrod had a heads up this was coming and EMAILED the department about it before it was released. What's the back story behind that? Was this a setup? Was Breitbart set up? Who told her it was coming?
AND-Didn't anybody think the whole crowd's reaction basically SUCKED when she started ragging on the Bush years and how bad the REPUBLICANS are? Obviously an arm of the democrat party.
Just sayin.' Sounded pretty racist to me.
Maybe Vilsack should be fired for for firing her.
As it is, Shirley Sherrod has just found out more about her "friends" than she ever knew.
Regardless if there are exculpatory remarks later in the video – what the video proves is that racism against whites exists. Notice there was an entire room of colored people there that found her comments (prior to the exculpatory comments) quite entertaining. I didn't see anyone jumping up to protest, prior to that.
Oh, but this story ain't over yet. I was just reading some other stories about the Pigford case among other things, which is apparently a big enough deal to have its own page on wikipedia.. Ms. Sherrod might not be as "color blind" & sympathetic a "victim" as one might think. Stay tuned!
Something tells me you probably don't have $125,000.00 laying around if you're unable to divide by four.
Sherrod's statements clearly showed that she took race into consideration when dealing with someone it was her job to help. It is worthwhile to note that she did assist the family, but that doesn't let her off the hook. The fact that her audience voiced its approval clearly showed that at least several of its members approved of her treating people differently because of race. It was a knee-jerk reaction for Vilsack to demand her resignation within hours rather than put her on leave but that was his choice. That the Obama administration is now reaching out to rehire Sherrod is going to do far more damage to the administration than the video.
I'm sorry Mr. Benson, but your paragraph 4 point is so poorly constructed as to be meaningless. I've read it twice and am left wondering which versions, posted where? Furthermore, why were complete posts with hundreds of comments taken down and re-posted later, with the same linkage, as "fresh" and no comments? I have comments that now are unattached the original thread. Where did that thread go?
Explanations and exactness are in order at this point. Links and preciseness. I'm a big fan of AB and I want details to the nth degree.
That you guys posted the original video shows that you are at worst, liars, and at best, completely incompetent. It's hard to believe that a bunch of irrelevant remarks like these will cover up this fact for your readers. The cat is out of the bag: this website is pretty worthless as far as journalism goes.
I made the same point last night on NewsBusters. Particularly #5 (above) but also that AB wouldn't risk everything he's built if what he aired could be easily disproved. The only part of AB's video that was a bit misleading, was the text intro. It wasn't wrong, but it should have focused on the audience at least as much as the speaker.
But the main point here is the double standard. While many are rushing to rescue Mrs. Sherrod, they're ignoring her racial past in doing so. Maybe she's changed. Maybe she's moved beyond race and if she truly has, I congratulate her; a woman her age has surely seen real racism against blacks, either by experience or second-hand through various media outlets in her younger life.
However, reverse the situation and put a white man behind the podium and white Tea Party members in the audience and give the exact same speech save the for race rolls, and both the man and the Tea Party audience would have been smeared with the same speed and fervor as the NAACP did the other evening. The only difference would be the withdrawal; the NAACP would not have reviewed the tape in it's entirety, and they would not have backtracked on their initial response. This is a certainty.
Keep the hits coming AB. It is my pleasure to see the O-Bots implode….
So where do I sign up for Pigtrough II? Thats a sweet deal!
Breitbart didn't bother to watch the entire video. Even though he said today that he first got hold of the edited clips in April, he didn't see fit to research the whole story. Had he done so, he would have seen her talk about her decision to stay in the south and work for change after her father died (she was 17). That she wanted to help only black people initially, but that "God can show you a different path." That she was glad she stayed – glad she didn't make her life about who was black or white, but who needed help.
She did not mention on the tape, but Breitbart could have found out without leaving his desk, that her dad was murdered by a Klansman in 1965. For someone to overcome the sort of hatred an act like that would inspire is transformational. Breitbart screwed this one up.
Today, she was offered a promotion, bashed Fox and was quoted on Media Matters as saying she'd love to sue.
They were looking for the result they got yesterday," she said of Fox. "I am just a pawn. I was just here. They are after a bigger thing, they would love to take us back to where we were many years ago. Back to where black people were looking down, not looking white folks in the face, not being able to compete for a job out there and not be a whole person."
another change-of-heart?
Spot on and accurate article. The whole specter surrounding Andrew Breitbart comes down to this: He alone, a blogger, managed to shutdown the entire government as they scurried around under dire consternation and, true to form, the Ogabe administration acted stupidly.
Nonetheless, it does not surprise me that the MSM slimeball pygmies would make Andrew the villain. It's very much what most people expected from the leftist lapdogs. In my opinion, Andrew Breitbart deserves the Pulitzer Prize. Mission accomplished!
The point of the video clip was to show the racism of the NAACP. I think it worked.
The media and the Obama regime are lazy. That's right, just as lazy as the welfare people that support them. If they weren't so lazy they would download the NAACP speech Ms. Sharrod gave and see the entire story. If they would do that they would see she is a racist. If she's not, then why did she tell the NAACP, "We struggled under Bush and we're not going to put up with that anymore now that we have a BLACK PRESIDENT. She continued on and said (the was in March) "Anybody that doesn't go along with President Obama's Healthcare is doing it because they are racist. How many times did we hear that and continue to hear it?
My guess is she's not going to take her new job offer. It has been reported that her and her husband recently won (last month) a $13 million judgement against the Department of Agriculture. We'll see if that's completely true and what she does.
Obama and the NAACP need more practice at coordinating their attack against the Tea Party and anybody else they don't like. Our enemies around the globe are falling down laughing at how incompetent the Obama regime is at everything they try and do.
If you have nothing to put up, I suggest you shut up. Some of us here do know each others history and if CL says he has money to add to the ante. I know he does.
I think your money is pretty safe, Cowboy! There is NO PROOF…someone would have come forward by now……….:)
Pigford case is very big deal-originally settled under Clinton in 1999-reopened in part due to shenanigans revolving around attorneys.
Weird to see a settled case re-opened-kind of unprecedented even.
Obama supported the Pigford payouts when he was senator-worked on behalf of it.
another group pushing Pigford case payouts is NOI
first dibs on farm auction equipment:
check it out-
New rules to FSA-Must Sell repossessed farm real property and equipment to Pigford case farmers before auction opened to the public http://www.fsa.usda.gov/Internet/FSA_Notice/flp_5....
By federal decree- MUST sell to Pigford farmers before auctions are opened to general public—redistribution of farm equipment?????
"7 CFR 767.151 and 5-FLP, paragraph 776 explain the general process for advertising and
selling inventory property. All inventory property must be advertised for sale to beginning
and socially disadvantaged farmers or ranchers before it is available to the general public
according to FSA’s enabling statute (7 U.S.C. 1985 (c))."
repeat not beginning OR socially disadvantaged BUT "beginning AND socially disadvantaged".
legaleese—– the words "OR" and "AND" make a BIG difference. AND meaning both
So I wonder if the bank is mandated to sell that John Deere for $100 offer-or if the offer is ridiculous is the foreclosed farmer/rancher still allowed to advertise it to the public?
A farmer that is having his farm foreclosed on/auctioned off and equipment auctioned off ought to be able to sell to the highest bidder? So the poor guy can pay off his debts-isn't that what an auction is about?
But now it is federally mandated to advertise to the "beginning and socially disadvantaged " before the public auction can take place?
definition of socially disadvantaged by the SBA http://www.ezcertify.com/certificationfacts/8afac....
"Socially disadvantaged individuals are those who have been subjected to racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias within American society because of their identities as members of groups and without regard to their individual qualities. The social disadvantage must stem from circumstances beyond their control."
DOT.gov definition http://www.dotcr.ost.dot.gov/documents/dbe/Append....
USDA grants $100,000-$300,000 for socially disadvantaged farmers http://www.csrees.usda.gov/fo/outreachassistances....
USDA loans for socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers http://attra.ncat.org/guide/a_m/socially_disadvan....
Pigford I settlement dished out over $600 and half Million (as of 2003)–Pigford II just had $1.25 Billion in BY2010 from Obama Budget and was approved by congress.
So Georgia Farm Bureau big wig admittedly sabotages the white farmer in Geogia and does not help the guy-even though it is her job to help black, brown, yellow purple , green and even white farmers-her job is to assist ALL farmers. ahem , what about race neutral ???? ALL the mom and pop farmers have it tough.
So when put into this context- given the fact that it is federally mandated by the FSA that Pigford case farmers get first dibs on the auction farm equipment.
So what is this-redistribution of farm assets?????
She said today (on CNN) that she was thinking about suing again! I think she is a suit junky!
This truly has been a brilliant play by Breitbart. Loathe tho I am to admit it.
We've gone over that this is not really about race. It is about the MSM and liberal attempts to distract from real issues. We've gone over that this is a demonstration of liberal emotionally driven logic and willingness to act without data or thinking.
Look, by only showing a portion of the tape, Breitbart exposed their willingness to act on emotion driven logic, and not facts or data. He even wrote that the woman said she changed her thinking (or something to that effect). Yet, they reacted to the portion of the tape that was shown. They didn't read what Breitbart wrote and they didn't investigate or wait for the full tape before reacting.
Then, when it was demonstrated that things weren't quite as they seemed….the MSM the WH/NAACP RETRACTED their statements calling the lady a racist!!!
Can't you see, he has fully exposed all of them as full fledged hypocrites.
The NAACP (on behalf of the WH) came out and called the TP a racist movement. Videos do not back up any of these claims. Actions by the TP do not back up these claims. Yet, the NAACP will not retract its statement.
Pure hypocrisy.
The NAACP has accepted unfounded accounts of alleged incidents to condemn the tea party. Doesn't that seem to be reactionary and driven by emotional logic, rather than fact and data?
Where's the apology or retraction, NAACP (white house)?
Say how can a framer be "beginning and socially disadvantaged" if they were already a claimant in the Pigford case, thus already being a farmer. Hard to be a beginning farmer if you have already been a farmer-what about that makes sense?
Just as quickly as they condemned Shirley Sherrod. they are condemning Breitbart. What does this show? It shows two things:
1. These people don't "really" know who they have in their own circles, or do they?
2. The Obama administration is indeed scared that they have angered the public with all of the racial B.S.
Remember Obama was supposed to be above all of this right?
Google: WindUpRubberFinger
hehehehehehheeeee thank you thank you thank you. glad to have jerked your chain. varmit.
I don't think this is a bad woman by any means, but the "one of his own kind" comment and how she was making fun of the white farmer for trying to prove "he was superior to me" was unnerving (Note: she was clearly not making fun of herself for having that reaction). To me, this shows a woman that may have intellectual acceptance that we are all created equal, but still has some emotional doubts about it in seeing whites as the others.
This is not to say she should be fired or that she is a racist, I just don't buy the Rich Lowry she-is-stellar-example-of-racial-harmony with a wonderfully uplifting American story over-correction either.
Perhaps. Of course the NAACP and the White House could have done the same thing as well.
Something tells me that number 9 quantifies your IQ level.
As far as I've been able to find, there are two "versions" of the video, the "original" that appeared linked to Breitbart's article and the "full video" (which actually includes an obvious edit) but contains the bulk of Sherrod's address.
There are other articles on other Breitbart sites that have had comments disappearing and reappearing in the past ~week, so I assume the "fresh" linkage with no comments has something to do with that separate, technical issue.
But this is all assumption.
This whole thing was orchestrated by the NAACP…THEY had possession of the entire tape, THEY eidted it, and THEY put it out over the internet…all this because of the 'mandate' THEY sent out to the Tea Party aobut racism…THEY threw one of their own under the bus!
hang on, i will add to it, does monoply money count? i might be able to add a few thousand of those.
$65,000 just to show up
Scroll down at this here link to the article titled
"Money What can I do with 50K?" http://www.muhammadfarms.com/The%20Farmer%20Newsl...
BTW link to Muhammad Farms found here on left side of page of
Nation of Islam Economic Savings Plan http://www.noi.org/3year-econ.html
Muhammad Farms is Nation of Islam's Ministry of Agriculture—headquartered in Georgia.
Just stating the facts.
In need of a little remedial math I see
$1,000,000,000.00 divided by 4 equals $225,000.00
research the full history of Pigford vs USDA and your head will explode.
Sherrod is one of many in this suit.
Keep it up Andrew, it fun to watch the libs go nuts when they are trapped. We see clearly now how incompetent the empty suit Obama is at leading ….cant wait for Nov elections.
already made a sweet $13 mil on the phase one of Pigford-let's see if anyone reports it.
The point was made you ass. You can choose to ignore it or you can wake up from your ideologically hypnotized mind state. She said she didn't help the white farmer as well as she could have, then the audience laughs, and claps. You have not, and will not see that kind of racism, or any racism for that matter in the tea party. But I guess we're suppose to applaud Sherrod for having a sudden strike of conscience in the moment and falsely accuse Breitbart of being dishonest. Your plan is exposed to everyone and it's crumbling. Be my guest, stay on the sinking ship.
"room of colored people?" Are you serious? I can't take commentary regarding racially charged issues seriously from someone who would use the highly offensive "colored people" adjective. What is it 1928? I pray you are liberal troll out to make us look bad and not really that tone deaf to the world we live in.
naaaah, Breitbart is one smart dude-the man has control of the ball.
Exposed the hypocrisy-he did:)
kudos.
i'm not sure about her. she did make the remarks, to cheers, without scolding the audience once. she did say also this is about the have, and have nots. the agriculture department is not about that. yes there are programs to help farmers, but the have nots are asking for wealth redistribution. the biggest thing that whole department does, is farm subsidies. farm subsidies are rewarding failure, and handing out money that is not thiers. scrap this whole department. automation has made mom and pop fams a thing of the past. farming is big money these days, and small operators are having the same problems as small office supply stores, small hardware stores, small grocery stores, and small department stores. the big guys drop prices, and increase production.
I appreciate the input, but I've posted here enough to know I've never seen comments totally wiped from a post. Mine never reappeared, but they were never deleted either. There they sit, in my Intense Debate profile. This more likely appears to be a linkage problem due to a republishing of the post or some other technicality on the part of BG. Details please!
I hope, unlike the Left, that we on the Right can still demand accountability while supporting the efforts of heroes like AB. I'm not satisfied with the spin, and Lord knows, I've tried to put the best face on it all day. This article does not cheer my flagging support. If there are cached versions that are meaningfully different, BG should post them with explanations, and post-haste.
That's hillarious, I haven't heard that before.
I just found out today that all of the farm equipment for all farmers foreclosed on nationwide (and that is a big bunch!) has to go through a process from hell to only the BLACK FARMERS. Only after months can a farmer of any other race attempt to purchase it. The gift just keeps on giving.
So the MSM can "Edit" sound bites but us lowly Idiots can't to prove their "Hypocrisies"
Nothing to see here move along
biggovernment.com – the new kkk…. woot woot!!! You are nothing but a bunch of sad, pathetic losers.
They fall for it everytime don't they Sirpigs!!!
Especially the larvae. tmc is starting from scratch. It has no clue. Heheheheheeee
If she is a racist, why did she castigate the black attorneys, tell the blacks that they need to start taking responsiblity for their communities, and say she has learned that poor is poor, irrespective of color? She sounded like a reagan republican for crying out loud. And, yes, I watched the ENTIRE speech.
Joan, I think the LEFT WING HACKERS are targeting the BIGS. Just some rumbles I have heard and posts elsewhere.
Off topic: Finally a pic of barry I can sort of stomach…

Been reading your posts on this matter JoS. Very good posts I must say.

This is a right to post blog. If you do not like it here… We will not miss you. We know where the rest of the loons are and they will be glad to give you warm fuzzies. SO LEAVE.
This whole issue points to a broader phenomenon. We human types, form opinions and beliefs. We then go out and try to find evidence that those beliefs are true. Hence, MSNBC and Fox News. I am not going to tell you which side I am on. We ALL need to start looking at the objective evidence and judging based on THAT…not who is saying it. Perhaps then we will not be so divided. Personally, I listen to the most liberal radio show in town EVERY morning, I read the Wall Street Journal, the LA Times, and I watch Bill O'Reilly almost every night.
What I saw in the full video was this: a woman admitting to some prejudices, in a time right after segregation and open racism was accepted, and her ability to overcome those prejudices. I've seen several people asking, "what if a white person said that?" Personally, I would LOVE it if a white person shared a story about overcoming racism. I expect I won't find that here, though.
Don't you love it when somebody gets their finger caught in the mouse trap
Take a gander in the mirror if you wish to see worthlessness. Where do you stand on the MSM and thier blatant incompetance and outright lying?
The taliban are coming over the hill they yell "Follow Me" – who you going to follow, Andrew or Obama ?
Nothing new about the lame stream media. From the very beginning, they didn't vet this fake, so that's why we now have a race baiting bozo in the WH and everyone at each others throats. Like it or not, or even try de-spinning, Andrew Breitbart hit the bullseye on this story. The heart of the story is not about Shirley Sherrod, but her message tied to the racist NAACP spreading lies about the Tea Party Movement. The NAACP's Tea Party Hate is still posted on their web site. http://i29.tinypic.com/2mesl8j.jpg
I suppose that's suppose to mean that an "NAACP American" is someone different than the rest of Americans?
The story that is being spun by the Obama administration, through their compliant sock-puppets, is that it was Ag. Sec. Tom Vilsack's decision to demand Sherrod's resignation. This is utterly disingenuous nonsense. Cheryl Cook, the deputy Agriculture Secretary who was on the phone with Ms. Sherrod telling her that she had to resign immediately, flat out told her that this was coming from the White House.
Lies, lies and more lies! This White House is nothing but weasels wall-to-wall!
Took me awhile to figure out her 13 million, but, gotcha now, O'Reilly explained it.
and, she has the nerve to say on MM that she doesn't know anything about sueing …. lmao
This entire drama is snookering everyone, except Mrs.Sherrold, who will probally replace Vilsack by the end of the month.
Just a guess but I'd bet your ranking would say where you stand
Who is trapped? Shirley Sherrod did nothing wrong and Andrew went out of his way to portray there was racism and Guy Benson just gives you the spin you need to cling onto your delusional views.
Your logic escapes me. How does posting the original video show either that someone is a liar or completely incompetent?
That sounds exactly like the behavior I'm describing. I first noticed it on BigHollywood, specifically John Nolte's review of Inception.
As to AB, I believe the original post stands as is. What spin are you taking exception with?
Have you gotten over your hatred of conservatives?
After further reflection Sherrod is a bigot who hasn't really changed her ways and deserved to be fired. This pig called everyone who was against nationalized healthcare a racist. She advocates for leftwing parasites to get govt jobs since they cannot get fired and where incompetence is celebrated. There's no place in the USDA for such a bigot or the type of vermin in the crowd that cheered on her racism towards the white farmer. These leftwing radicals are the dregs of our society.
But Fox News tells the truth? I just want to see if they hold anyone accountable the way CBS did after Dan Rather's Memogate. I doubt they have that kind of credibility.
I would say they "threw ANOTHER one their own under the bus!"
Sad. It certainly ain't the first and most definately won't be their last.
You are correct.
There is no racism to overcome here.
Keep wishing though.
I agree the White House acted stupidly, but to completely trust anyone makes you a sheep. You can do better then that.
and you thought she didn't go to the "Jesse Jackson school of shakedowns"
That might be a bit extreme, but he did come across as pretty gutless.
where is Sherrod one of the many in the suit?
I am not finding it
Also was she a recipient of the 1 Billion in relief?
It would appear that the leftest media is having trouble getting a taste of their own medicine. As as 'editing' videos to support an argument, I dare they start down that road……..they've got a lot more coming to them.
I agree.
This is sounding more and more like a setup by the Hussein regime, National Association for the Advancement of Communist People, and their lapdogs in the faux MSM.
These far left psychos are completely unhinged.
ah leave ??? Oh that's right .. If a democrat doens't like something he wants to change it for everyone!!!
Nice try
That almost made sense. Missed it by that….much. How's that half a brain working for you?
Dick Morris just said it best
ObaMao now owns "Her" and she has said a lot more than this
"her dad was murdered by a Klansman in 1965" Please cite your source. I heard Ms Sherrod say her father was KILLED by a white man and there was no prosecution. Could have been a logging accident or a drunk driver or a hundred other things. If it was KLAN I would like to know.
KKK? That's a democrat thing, if you know your history. Always was and always will be.
Ain't workin! We can see the light, so can the roaches, see how they run! It won't be long! Impeachment is just around the corner. This time the "target" won't have the backing of the American people, and the people sure as hell won't pay any attention the MSM trying to spin.
Have you actually watched the video? There was no cheering when she talked about her inclinations toward the white farmer. There were some sympathetic chuckles when she talked about how he kept trying to make her feel inferior because of her race, but that was all. Don't believe me? It's on YouTube.
I think I am going to have to cut it back to quarterbrain to fit in better.
The spin on why the exonerating part of the video story was withheld. It is not satisfactory. It's not up-front with the full impact of it. There is still a fine case to be made within the entirety of the video, but that would take time and the news cycle is a pressure-cooker. But it would have been a better, more concrete case that would withstand the scrutiny.
And then again, it probably doesn't matter what mirror is held up the the Left. Like the blood-sucking vampires they are, they would be incapable of seeing themselves in it.
Let's always be careful to cultivate a healthy mirror for our own reflection and consideration.
And keep the down-dings coming! You would venerate AB above where he can safely dwell. He needs better people than I to support him faithfully AND ask honest questions. I hope he has them.
Gotta love a Cowboy who puts his money where his mouth is.
"Oh. You mean Andrew Breitbart lied about the video?" . . . . < long silence> . . . . .
"This must be the fault of Obama and that racist NAACP! And the mainstream media!"
At least with the regulars on this forum
$13 million to Sherrod and her husbands group New Communities, Inc
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/E...
Sherrod and her husband got each $150,000 for pain and suffering-total $300,000. How much of the $13 million went to Sherrod and her husband is unclear.
As of 2003, over $600 million had been paid out for Pigford vs USDA I case.
The case settled in 1999-Sherod's settlement was under Pigford I.
the Pigford case was re-opened after it was settled.
hence-Pigford part II
Conservative estimates of the costs of both Pigford cases run over $1 trillion.
Recent pay-out in Obama WH BY2010 was $1.25 Billion in that budget year alone.
This $1.25 Billion figure is only allocated for the CLASS action lawsuit for Pigford II-the one where each farmer gets a total of about $65,000, $50,000 cash other in deductions costs etc.
Mrs. Sherood and her husband and New Communites, Inc, was not a part of the Pigford I class action lawsuit as it looksa s though they elected to sue separately-hence the ruling and larger award for $13 million total.
Hope that helps clear it up.
Wildwood, you have not been keeping up with the happenings or the facts very well.
The meeting was a regional one and Ben Jealous was not present.
The real NAACP tape was edited, not by the NAACP, but by Breitbart.
Ms. Sherrod was told by someone that something was coming, but she was not told what it was.
USDA Secretary Vilsac acknowledged an email had been sent which he and the Undersecretary (Ms. Sherrod's manager) should have received, but they did not due to some error in the email addresses.
Breitbart was NOT setup – just the opposite – he set up Ms. Sherrod and smeared her knowing his post & video would go viral.
The back story, Wildwood, is that it all goes to intent – Breitbart's intent when he posted the video and wrote about it, his intent when he partnered with FOX News making this totally incorrect information go viral and his intent when he agreed to be interviewed on CNN and ABC news showing he could not come up with any logical explanation as to why anyone should remotely believe that he could possibly be a credible so called journalist.
The attendees at the regional NAACP nodded their heads and a few people said something like Uh huh, acknowledging that they had experienced similar things that Ms. Sherrod had experienced.
The hate and bigotry that Breitbart and his followers spew forth on this site, the other Breitbart sites, similar right wing nut blogs and on FOX News is despicable. Nothing positive comes from any of this – only more hate and bigotry surfaces. It is time that all of you people grow up and decide you want to have an open, honest and fair discussion about race and ethnic issues in our country. Then, and only then will all people in our country gain understanding into each others' lives and culture and believe that we all will be better for it.
Just stop the hate!
Joseph, just out of concern, I want to make you aware that there is medication for cyclothymia. What you just wrote in your comment is completely opposite to the Joseph_of_Steel that people here have encountered, and I appreciate your candour.
think of this part "beginning and socially disadvantaged"
So how can a Pigford case claimant be a beginning farmer if they were a claimant in the Pigford case?
see my point.
You took my breath away.
I agree Parker. Ms. Sherrod's story is one to be admired. Unfortunately, Breitbart has missed the point of his own post!
Oh I assumed you where a regular
I am new here
