Is Obama the Next Woodrow Wilson?
by Frank DeMartiniAt the end of last week, I was watching President Obama’s speech before the United Nations. I must admit it was given with eloquence and was quite moving. However, for the most part it was rhetoric and the dreams of an idealistic man in Fantasyland. I do not want to really beat a dead horse, but as stated in my last article about the ideology of liberals, President Obama’s foreign policy completely ignores reality. It is almost delusional. Obama dreams about everything being utopian, but ignores the writings on the wall. And, in the process he insults our trusted ally Israel by demanding it stop building settlements without requiring the Palestinians to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist.
The speech was also very Wilsonian. I could imagine the words of Woodrow Wilson pitching the League of Nations to the United States Congress after the end of World War One. The League of Nations “is a definite guaranty of peace. It is a definite guaranty by word against aggression. It is a definite guaranty against the things which have just come near bringing the whole structure of civilization into ruin. Its purposes do not for a moment lie vague. Its purposes are declared, and its powers are unmistakable. It is not in contemplation that this should be merely a league to secure the peace of the world. It is a league which can be used for cooperation in any international matter.” In fact, parts of President Obama’s speech today mirrored these themes exactly.
The American Congress did not buy the sales job of Wilson and did not ratify the Versailles Treaty. America was not a member of the League of Nations. The League of Nations failed and the bloodiest war in the history of mankind resulted. As a result, for the most part, history looks at Woodrow Wilson’s presidency as a failure.
Wilson was an idealist and President Obama is an idealist. In fact, the two men have quite a lot in common. They are both of the extreme left and considered Progressives. And, there is much more.
Woodrow Wilson and Back Obama were both educated in elite Northeastern Ivy League Schools. Wilson was a graduate of Princeton; Obama a graduate of Harvard. They were both lawyers who did not practice for an extended period of time. And, most importantly, both became President with very little governmental experience. Wilson was in the midst of his first term as governor of New Jersey. Barack Obama was in the middle of his first term as a Senator from Illinois. And, both became President because of circumstances beyond their control: Wilson because of a split in the Republican Party during a three man election and Obama because of the crash of the economic system six weeks before the election.
In addition to their idealistic viewpoints on foreign affairs, both were staunch supporters of the Federal Reserve. Wilson, in fact, was President during its creation and managed to slip it through a Congress that mostly opposed it. Obama is increasing the powers of the Fed on an almost daily basis. There are many that feel the Fed is part of an idealistic world view. (See e.g., The Secret of Jekyll Island). This is the same idealistic world view that is a cornerstone of President Obama and Woodrow Wilson’s foreign policy. It is also, unfortunately, socialist. The underlying theme of both is that the creation of a World Bank will make every country and every person equal.
Many of the initial supporters of the Fed and its progeny of paper money believe that the rich countries should support the rest of the world and put all nations on an even playing field. In fact, it can be argued that this was the main argument of President Obama’s speech before the General Assembly today. It is idealistically based socialism pure and simple. Unfortunately, Margaret Thatcher said it best. “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” And, that may be what is happening right now. The Fed cannot print its paper money fast enough. The realism is beginning to set in.
Will America continue to buy into Obama’s rhetoric? Maybe. Will Obama be considered a failure in the same vein as Woodrow Wilson? I hope not, but if things continue as they are, it is beginning to look more likely each and every day.
On other fronts – In my opinion President Obama made a major error last week when he agreed to withdraw the missile defense system from Poland and the Czech Republic. This is kowtowing to the Russians pure and simple. The governments of both Eastern European countries feel the President has sold out our NATO allies. Do I need to remind my readers that these two countries were once within the tyrannical control of the USSR? They are both now members of NATO. We have promised them defense. What has the President done to end their fears of another Russian takeover? Nothing. In fact, the President gives in to Russia at the expense of our Eastern European allies.
Yesterday I became aware of an Executive Order signed by President Obama on January 27 of this year. It is Executive Order Number 2009-15 and is published in the Federal Register. I simply do not understand why this was not picked up by the mainstream or any media for that matter. The order is very simple. It allocates 20.3 million dollars of our taxpayers’ money to aid refuges of the Gaza Strip. Isn’t this where the Hamas exercises complete control? Aren’t these refuges that our taxpayer money is being used for going to be enemies of Israel? Isn’t Israel one of our most important allies? I know it was before the current administration.
Developing news on the health care front is that Harry Reid is going to use reconciliation in the Senate if he cannot get the sixty members necessary to block a filibuster. In other words, he is going to bend the rules to his favor so that a simple majority can bypass Senate rules.
Sounds a lot like what is going on in Massachusetts right now. When John Kerry was running for President and Mitt Romney was the governor, the Democratic Legislature immediately took the power out of Romney’s hands to appoint a Senator had Kerry won. I mean, God forbid that the Republican Romney would appoint a Republican to the Senate representing Massachusetts. Now, that Ted Kennedy has passed away, the situation is reversed. The Massachusetts Legislature is changing the rules again to give the Democratic Governor the power to appoint a successor to fulfill Kennedy’s term. The Democrats do not want to risk a special election in which a Republican might win. This is typical Democratic liberal behavior. The rules are only as good as long as they benefit their ideals.
Lastly, the State of California’s unemployment rate has reached a 70 year high. What can we do about it? The state is in a mess and our Democratic Legislature and Republican Governor cannot even begin to come up with a solution. The budget deficit is out of control. Storefronts are empty everywhere you look. Foreclosure rates are at an all time high. And, real estate is in a free fall. Maybe, the time is right to kick them all out of office. Couple that with our Democratic Congress that has got to go; and, maybe government will start being for the people and not for itself. Isn’t that what the American form of Democracy is supposed to be all about?

Money is the root of all good.
Sarkozy nailed it when he claimed we don't live in a virtual world. Obama is like Trelane in the Squire of Gothos (original Star Trek series). He thinks that if he just says the word or imagines something, it will come into reality. When reality doesn't cooperate, he gets Very Peevish.
The One's lack of understanding of basic economics combined with his incredibly naive/destructive view of foreign relations is a toxic combination. He is Carter Reloaded.
I think he is a cross between Wilson and Carter.
It seems Obama sold America to the lowest bidders…Chavez, Gadhafi, and Castro. Our new Amerika is now controlled by the co-presidency of CHAVEZ, GADHAFFI, CASTRO AND OBAMA!

Wilson, Carter, Chamberlain?
In my opinion, he is more akin to Steve Urkel.
Bless his little ol' heart, Mr. Obama doesn't have a clue.
He's Chance the Urkel – he thinks Being There is enough.
Steve Urkel would have been a much better president than Barack Obama could possibly be.
At least Urkel was well-meaning and a good person.
Barack, not so much!
The ironic thing is Wilson was a white supremacist yet he and Obama have so much else in common when it comes to their socialistic agenda.
Plus, Urkel could dance and play the accordian……….
And he wore more stylish jeans.
Uh Oh!
The Obama art department is at it again……..

Where is Michelle's weight lifting belt?
So Hussein is now plagiarizing Wilson? Well, at least his ideas?
LMAO
Read Jonah Goldberg's book. Woodrow Wilson was a fascist, jailing dissenters, etc. Couple this with the naive approach to foreign policy and a Carteresque ignorance of economics and we get the confidence man we have in the White House now.
Ah ha!
You are right quick, eh?
Posting that post, about the post, inheriting the Post…………….
It's the post that keeps on giving.
(I love this this site!)
You must be referring to "Liberal Fascism" by Jonah Goldberg? That should be required reading, for anyone interested in salvaging what is left of this Country.
Did you notice that the White House has now acknowledged they are in deep feces? Not verbally, but they trotted out the most Powerful Man in the Democratic Party this morning for an apearance on "Meet The Distressed". The Ol' Slickster himself was there, espousing his views on the "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy". Apparently he is now hearing voices like Maureen Dowd and Hillary.
I wonder how long before Hillary jumps ship and announces she is going to run…………
An EMP would set this country back to about 1860 levels of technology.
We have known this for about 60 years & haven't done a damn thing about it.
I don't understand Obama.
Is he saying that if the US disarms the rest of the world is going to kinda smile & follow along?
Is this clown really calling any shots at all?
She is already planning her exit. Have you noticed how strangely absent she has become on the world stage? Now, when we need a tough Secretary of State, we have an irrelevant shrew. She has been banished from the inner circle, relegated to carrying water for The Great Leader. Her super-nova sized ego will not allow her to maintain a decorum of loyality for long…………….
Comparing Obama to Wilson, also consider O's "civilian defense corps, as well armed and as well funded as the US Military" with Wilson's American Protective League. The more things change….
Glenn Beck has called for a national day of prayer and fasting for our country Monday. We need all the help we can get! Please join us!
If only there were some conservatives to vote for.
"Is this clown really calling any shots at all? "
NO.
Well, based upon the mating positions of turtles, I know what he is trying to do to the "post."
Yea and he wants the USofA to be equal to these clowns …. EQUAL … remember he said it not me…..
Liberal Schism?
Oy vei! Me thinks they are about to get schtooped………..
All kidding aside, CL…. I truly think and believe that the Libs and Dems have no clue what is coming at them in 2010. They fail to realize that the sleeping giant is no longer in hibernation…but intently listening with ears high and watching with very open eyes. The voting packs will be at the highest levels ever in a mid-term election. Might I have your thoughts in return ?
Carter was an Engineer on subs in the US Navy, left to take up running the family farm, and knows construction.
Does Barry even have any practical skills? Use and care of a bong does not count.
Only God can save us.
Twice as far? Republicans do not have that much range of motion, you can only go so far "small government, low taxes" before flying off into Libertarian territory.
Now is not the time to get lazy. Sure, the voters will go for Republican candidates in 2010. But we cannot just hope we will add more conservatives, we have to have them running as candidates and winning primaries first.
Plus, we must be ready for the long haul. The machine will take quite some time to dismantle, there are enormous debts racked up to be paid, and several corrupted malfunctioning units of the device still have their uses and will need replacing with better parts. If this country is to be saved and rendered powerful and prosperous for generations to come, we have decades of work ahead where conservatives need to be in charge to get the job done, and done Right.
Let's roll.
Money is a tool, nothing more, nothing less.
Problem being, liberals insist on controlling all the tools…
Hmmm. It's been a long time since anyone asked me my opinion, as I tend to call a spade a spade, so here goes…….
I have a different perspective than most. I have traveled the globe and do business in several states. This gives me a good cross section of the country to base my opinions on. In my life, I have never seen the American people so enraged, so intense. For the first time since the end of the Vietnam War, America is alive! Thanks to outlets such as the Internet, FOX News, Talk Radio; people like Mark Levin, Rush Lindbaugh, Bill O'Reilley and Glenn Beck, people are paying attention and are aware.
When one gets away from the east coast, and the west coast, in the heartland, the hinterlands, people are fundamentally good and decent. They still love America and they are mad. The Democrats have no idea that the wrath of America is about to descend upon them; and they will have no clue what hit them…………….
could someone ban this guy please?
We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.
Barack Obama
**Some one correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that was the mandate of our National Guard. The Army, Navy, Air Force and the Marines fight outside the Country and the National Guards are to stay in country.

I was thinking Flip Wilson.
You're right – they have No Idea. Despite the deft use of the internet during Obamessiah's campaign, they still do not grok that they are unable to have a stranglehold on New Media in order to control the message. Their attempt to create a Racism Meme have enraged decent, hardworking people who just want to be left alone to live their lives, unmolested by the government.
Very telling statements indeed. Sometimes, it seems to me, the greater an education one has, the less they can see the forest for the trees. Diplomacy only works when each party has something to loose and something to gain from the process. Iran, has nothing to loose by stonewalling the better part of the planet. Their numbers are small and their resources are few. The only thing they have that the western world wants them to give up is their ability to launch a nuke at Israel. That is their only power. Why would they give it up? For what? To make nice with the USA? Ha!
And, if that's not enough, let us remember that the powers that be in Iran do not exactly like us. BHO thinks that he will garner favor in the Muslim parts of the world by "repairing" America's image there. Let me be perfectly clear, (as he would say), I for one do not care who likes me personally, let alone what some other world despot or his minions think of my country. I just want to live free. I want to be safe from tyranny, wether imposed from within or without. I think that is what most Americans want.
I am proud of my country. I will not apologize for dumping billions of taxpayer dollars into rebuilding our allies' and some of our former enemies' countries after the end of both world wars. Which, by the way, in case the history books have been re-written yet again, the USA was practically dragged into both – kicking and screaming. I will not apologize for defending South Korea, South Vietnam, Kuwait and Iraq, among others from the ever increasing threat to freedom. I will not apologize for being the first major country to send aid and comfort around the world after a natural disaster strikes. No, I will not apologize. To do so would be an insult to all the lives lost and irrevocably altered in the fight for freedom since the Revolutionary War.
This administration has lost it's cajones, if they ever had any in the first place. The result is a show of weakness that makes Carter look like Reagan (my apologies to Reagan, may he rest in peace). We are currently reaping the harvest of massive socialist seed garden sown during the 60s. Let us pray that there are enough sickles to cut down the wheat before it sets seed again. I want my country back.
Based on this speech, does that mean that if we in the South tried to seek our freedom once again that he would allow us to go in peace?
He already has his civilian national thug force – they wear purple shirts with SEIU on them.
Obama daydreams too much. And he is extremely naive.
Or he just could be an avowed leftist.
I think thats why Chavez and Quadaffi liked him so much

Iran is not going to listen to negotiations, unfortunately. All they are doing is stalling for time so they can build their nuclear bomb. And when they get it, they are going to use it against Isreal. I firmly believe that.
They only way i see of dealing with them is through either….
A) Funding an opposition within the country to overthrow the regime, or..
B) Military action.
Otherwise, this is going to be like the Energizer bunny, its going to keep going and going and going and going….
And a false peace is no peace.

There is a third way. Iran does not have any gasoline refineries. They export oil to refineries in the Gulf and then import gasoline. I know, it sounds insane. It would not be difficult to interdict these shipments. Without gasoline their country comes to a complete stop. They would have no choice but to give up their nuclear bomb making capability. There wouldn't be anything that Iran could do about it. Their Navy is a joke. Their army could not get to the refineries to lift the blockade. Russia and China have to go through Turkmenistan, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan or Pakistan to come to Iran's aid. Let's see, all of these countries HATE the Iranians. Askt he Azerbaijanis if they want to help the Russians help Iran. LOL. Funny joke that one is. Turkmenistan is a staunch US ally. Georgia agreeing to let Russia pass through their territory to help Iran? Yeah, right. The Turks and the Persians have been enemies for, what, 5,000 years? Even if the Russians could get through Afghanistan without being shot to pieces all along the way, there is this thing called the US military that might object. Pakistan is no friend of either Russia or Iran. So aiding Iran over a land route is out. What about the Russian or Chinese navy running the blockade in the Gulf? Neither of them have a navy that can stand up to the 7th fleet for more than about 15 seconds.
Shutting down the Iranian nuclear program is SOOOOOO simple. Cut off their gasoline. Game over.
It all sounds good but completely ignores basic human nature. There is no shortage of money being spent on Foreign aid to the under developed nations of the world, the money that is sent much like the food aid is not getting to those who are in need only to those who keep them dependent. As long as the world shows compassion, and gives, those in power will keep it that way. Look at our own failed war on poverty. Those in the food chain need to keep their 'dependent victims' dependent victims. Until there is meaningful change in the manner of distribution, circumventing the powers that be, the plight of the needy will never change.
Until people like Obama recognize that there is EVIL in the world and that the EVIL will not just go away because we want it too, nothing will change. The useless UN will continue to be represented by the tyranny of the minority and never achieve change. In the face of EVIL (laundry list of tyrants goes here) every resolution adopted and subsequently ignored will further demonstrate how feckless this whole system is. Obama's words are only more of the same, unless he somehow grows some cajones and uses a credible threat of force, the world will continue to applaud and LAUGH at him.
Case in point, Qadaffi was only too quick to abandon Lybia's WMD program once we invaded Iraq. Now that we have the castrated leader of the US in power he thumbs his nose at us. We do not need the world to like US we need them to fear and respect us. It is a sad thing to say and the utopian deramers will hear none of this, but HUMAN NATURE is no different today than it has always been.
Mr. DeMartini,
I read an article by Jake Tapper that ties nicely into discussion. You can see the entire article here: <a href="http://tinyurl.com/ycjj88t” target=”_blank”>http://tinyurl.com/ycjj88t
What I think is relevant is one of the links he posted in his update at the end of the article. It links to Nicholas Burns testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I think it gives a great deal of insight into Obama's foreign policy choices. Here is the link: <a href="http://tinyurl.com/r34f5a” target=”_blank”>http://tinyurl.com/r34f5a
Here are a few snips I found revealing:
————
That leaves diplomacy as the most plausible way to blunt Iran’s nuclear ambitions. I have some familiarity with the difficulties and tradeoffs of a diplomatic approach. For three full years, between 2005 to early 2008, I served as the point person on Iran for Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. We worked hard to find a path to the negotiating table with Iran.
In June 2006, we launched the most serious and ambitious American attempt since the Iranian revolution of 1978 to establish meaningful discussions with Iranian officials. Along with Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany, we offered Iran negotiations on nuclear and other issues. We were determined to begin talks with Iran and expected that negotiations would take place. Unfortunately, Iran rejected over the next two years repeated offers by the U.S. and its partners for talks. Iran walked away and missed a rare opportunity to pursue a better relationship with the United States.
—–
How should the new American government led by President Barack Obama respond to this open challenge? While I am not in a position to know what our government will ultimately do, I am frankly encouraged by the initial statements of the President and his team to take the offensive against Iran through strong and active diplomacy. In this sense, I believe we are fortunate, indeed, that President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have asked Ambassador Dennis Ross to coordinate our policy toward Iran. He is one of the most skillful and experienced public servants in our country and one of our foremost experts on the problems of the Middle East.
I think the Obama administration has made the right decisions on Iran in its first months in office. President Obama’s new and positive appeal to Moslems worldwide, his video message to the Iranian people, his invitation for Iran to attend the UN conference on Afghanistan and his pledge that the U.S. will now participate in the P-5 nuclear talks with Iran, have all put us back on the diplomatic offensive with the Iranian regime. The absence of a clear Iranian government response to these steps is telling—accustomed to keeping the U.S. off balance in recent years, the Iranian leadership appears to not know how to respond to these more positive American initiatives. That is not an insignificant accomplishment at this early stage of the new administration.
——-
A diplomatic opening to Iran will require patience on the part of Americans. Progress is unlikely to be made in the early stages. As Karim Sadjadpour testified to this committee in March, there will certainly be those in Iran who seek through intemperate statements to derail the process. There will undoubtedly be criticism by some in the U.S. that diplomacy is naïve or even appeasement. We would do well to ignore these all too predictable attacks and to give President Obama the time and flexibility he will need to sustain a complicated and difficult diplomatic negotiation with Iran.
——
There appears to be a method their madness. Please read Jakes article and all of the links… perhaps we should address/focus on the policies offered in Mr. Burns' testimony in order to understand how to best address Obama's policies?
The swing of the Liberals pendulum to the left has peaked, only eight months into Obama's term. When it starts to return to the the right, it will swing twice as fast and twice as far. We must be ready to temper the return swing and remember the lessons of 1994-1996, not only can we pick up seats in 2010, we can add members to the Conservative movement.
Our enemies don't even have to respect us. They just need to believe us. They need to believe that if they mess with us then their country will look like Berlin in April of 1945. Or Tokyo in August of 1945. If they truly believe that then they will go to great lengths to not even give the appearance of messing with us.

The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Obama is a 'Post Turtle'".
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was. The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road on you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle".
The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. "You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with".
Okay, enough about Obama and his eloquence!
The simple fact is that, speakers like BO are a dime a dozen. There was a time when you could find guys like Obama in any large Car Dealership in any major American city. These days, they're called Motivational Speakers. They are hired by various Corporations and Small Businesses to help excite sales forces. Small minded, very suggestible people are moved by them.
There is nothing special about the way this guy reads from a teleprompter, okay? Okay.
That said, the lines are drawn as follows:
Certain things belong together.
Hatred, lies, cowardice, darkness, ugliness, enslavement, a desire for power over the lives of others, these things belong together. Where you find one, you're likely to find the others.
Love, truth, light, beauty, freedom, these also belong together.
Hatred seeks power. Marxism (= Leftism), seeks power. Love seeks freedom.
That's where the lines are drawn.

It's too early for Hillary to jump. Clinton, despite being a total slimeball, is a very astute politician. The Clintons will not risk fracturing the Democratic party by appearing to abandon The One prior to the 2010 elections. If the Dems lose big, then look for Hillary strategically exit (especially if unemployment remains high).
I do too.
It is the Survivor, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars for thinking people…………
I see him much the same as Neville Chamberlain almost identical quotes, a mind that helped bring us WWII:
“We should seek by all means in our power to avoid war, by analyzing possible causes, by trying to remove them, by discussion in a spirit of collaboration and good will. I cannot believe that such a program would be rejected by the people of this country, even if it does mean the establishment of personal contact with the dictators.”
“I believe it is peace for our time . . . peace with honour.”
“In war, whichever side may call itself the victor, there are no winners, but all are losers.”
Neville Chamberlain
I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.

You are DEAD ON ! That's my assessment as well….. She is just waiting for the "politically opportune" time… My guestimate….immediately after the results of the 2010 midterms….
Lest us not forget that she has undermined our precious realtionship with Israel during this self-centered political gamesmenship… THAT will cost her dearly… The LIBS are about to learn what a SCHISM is…
Good points Curious! A blockade sounds like a good idea.
I’ve heard some say that its “an act of war” though. But then again i think…..Big freaking whoop, Iran needs to be stopped
Which is worse, bombing the hell out of Iran’s nuclear facilities or letting them get an A-bomb. I think the answer is clear
We need to impose our own term limits and vote every lifetime politician out of office. Accountability in 2010 and in 2012.
Is it possible to morph several LIBERAL political idealists into ONE MAN ? Oh my…where does one start.
Woodrow Wilson's trampling of the Bill of Rights and Constitution as too "restrictive". Check !
Franklin Delano Roosevelt's vicious attempts at stacking the Supreme Court. Check !
Neville Chamberlain's wussie and appeasing ramblings toward Germany. Check !
Jimmeh Cahta's total and unhinged naivity in foreign policy and stateside economic basics. Check !
And Obama's systemic denigration of the integrity and greatness of this freedom loving country. Check!
Guess you Obama voters might want to apologize to the rest of the country… Unless, of course, you are on welfare and waiting to get your "hair and nails DID' !
Curious said—–”Our enemies don’t even have to respect us. They just need to believe us. They need to believe that if they mess with us then their country will look like Berlin in April of 1945. Amen!!
We need a strong leader…….Obama is NOT a strong leader. He’s an APPEASER.

Joke of the day!
ROME — Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi is poking fun at President Obama again.
Berlusconi has told a rally in Milan that he was bringing greetings from the United States from "What's his name? Some tanned guy. Ah, Barack Obama!"
Shortly after Obama's election, Berlusconi raised eyebrows by saying the victor was "young, handsome and even has a good tan."
This time, Berlusconi took a poke at the First Lady.
"You won't believe it," he said Sunday, "but two of them went to the beach because the wife is also tanned."
Carter was an Engineer on subs in the US Navy
Not a very good one, either according to Rickover.

http://mycityblog.net/2009/09/27/map-of-corruptio...
This really is a terribly written editorial. First, I thought that neo-conservatives such as Wolfowitz and Bush loved Woodrow Wilson for his foreign adventurism. All throughout the Iraq War, I heard praises of Wilson from conservatives. I guess that has changed now. Second, Wilson was about as progressive as Strom Thurman. He was an ardent racist and took no pains to hide that fact. Unless Mr. Martini gets on the Glenn Beck bandwagon and says that Obama is a white-hating racist, this comparison fails. Third, Wilson loathed unions and broke up strikes whenever he could Striking workers died under Wilson's orders. Fourth, Wilson was against women's suffrage. If that counts as progressive to Mr. Martini, I'd hate to see what he considers as conservative. I agree with Martini about the Federal Reserve, but up until recently, you conservatives loved the Fed and Ayn Rand-influenced Alan Greenspan. Now if you want a REAL PROGRESSIVE President to HATE, you might try Teddy Roosevelt. He broke up monopolies, was liberal for his time regarding African Americans, and he established the national park system. The Republican Roosevelt sure was a socialist!
Respect is earned Mr. president, not granted. I see Woodrow Wilson in Obama, but I also see Carter, Chavez, Ahmadinejad, Gaddafi, Wright, Ayers, Jones, Jarrett, Lloyd, Susteen, and a few others.
Right you are! he is also very much a BLACK LIBERATIONIST/POST COLONIAL COMMIE .
A very good assessment.
But I would add Cousin Odinga to who he wants to be like as well – Wilson did not have any muslim cousins.
Wilson and that whole Treaty of Versailles bunnch are responsible for just about every singled war/conflict/coup, that then took place during the entire 20th century, as well as a lot of what has and is happening in the 21rst century as well.
During most of Wilson's second term ( GOS save us all from an Obama second term ! ) he was too ill to finction and his second wife, the First Lady, was the one making ALL of the decisions.
Obama is a compilation of the worst parts of Wilson, FDR, Carter, and Mugabe, Mandel;a, Mbeki, and the new South African president, who is gfar worse than Mandela and Mbeki combined, as well as his odious father and thug cousin.
[...] This isn’t the first time a political party has changed the rules once they assumed “command”, and the Democrats are hardly alone in doing so. But that doesn’t make it right. [...]
Obama is taking everything out of the Wilson playbook to establish this fabian socialistic progressive ideology mixed together with 60s radicalism. FDR picked up the ball that Wilson dropped, they were both turn of the century progressives. Every democratic President has tried to flip this country into a statist control for the sole purpose to have the Democratic party in power forever. They learned a century ago if you can bribe the people with entitlements from taxes of other hard working Americans you have a voting base that now becomes so dependent that they cannot function on any level of life.
However, what all these socialist don’t realize along with all these little dick-less dictators who think they are going to destroy America, is that Newton’s Law of motion always kicks in. Obama is going to fail and fail to the point that this 100 year effort to steal the rugged individualism that has built this nation into the giant it is, he is going to be the sole force that brings this all to a crashing end.
There isn’t one program going back to Wilson that has succeeded. Everything these democratic extortionist gangsters pass always fails and they keep it going by spending more and more money because the have the biggest work force in the world making money. People are getting fed up and the Democrats have elected a guy that is dumber then Jimmy Carter ever was and we threw his worthless, incompetent boob out of the White House. Carter didn’t pull any of the insanity that Obama has pulled and is going to continue to pull. The biggest flaw in the Democratic machine, which is infected with mobsters, communist, fascist, union crooks, pagans, moochers, slackers and free loaders, is that they all have to come to WE THE PEOPLE who pay for this freak show with our taxes. It is coming to a head in NOV 2010. Look at the response of the democrats in power to the Tea Parties, Town halls and these two kids that brought down the Acorn. This so called Democratic power structure it rotten to the core and it is going to come crashing down faster then the Soviet Union did.
Every Democratic President has failed and Obama is the worst and his arrogance will bring it all down. I have said that Obama is the gift that keeps on giving. We constitutionalist conservatives must be ready to take bold steps to undo 90 years of democratic corruption.
We survived Woodrow Wilson, will we survive this assault on our freedom? As Bill Clinton said today, demographics are not in our favor.
Oh? Take it up with the Navy, Captain Rickover interviewed and selected Carter for the nuclear sub work. Maybe later Rickover was miffed about Lt. Carter going back home after his father died, but apparently he liked his work while he was there.
IMPORTANT!!
Don't take your eyes off congress / senate.
It's obvious that POTUS waited until now to confront Iran, delayed decision on Afghanistan, gave controversial speeches at U.N., imigration AMNESTY, racial speech at the CBC, and many other distractions…. to slide toxic policy in under the radar, or at least with less resistance.
HE IS OVERWHELMING THE SYSTEM!
DON'T BE FOOLED!
WE ARE BEING PLAYED!
ATTEND, OR ORGANIZE RALLIES!
Keep contacting representatives, DO NOT BECOME COMPLACENT!
But Obama is alsop a RACIST…………he HATES white people.
Okay. Let's see. Who has taunted the American President so far? Hmm..
Russia
Iran
France
Italy
North Korea
Great. I feel so much safer.
Mr. DeMartini neglected one little detail about Woodrow Wilson, when comparing to Obama: he was a racist to the core. He should check out James W. Loewen's book: Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong. I should warn you of Loewen's left-wing bents but he nailed it on Woodrow Wilson.
I do not in any way pretend to attribute to God's action the reason for an event. But, is it not ironic that the United
States, who's form of government was such a bold and successful experiment, in that "all men are created equal"
and "possessed of inalienable rights" enslaved blacks mainly for economic reasons and now mainly for economic reasons elected a totally unqualified man who is half white and half black and who is filled with hate and has shown himself to possess the worst qualities of both races? I give you Barrack Hussien Obama the man who is doing his best to tear down the United States, a country that even with its many flaws is probably the best this world has ever seen and gave him his chance to succeed. This could be pay back.
Just a thought.
We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.
Barack Obama
This doesn't even make sense. What is the difference between a soldier and a civilian? Training? The uniform? Or the pledge to serve the Country above all else? I am a civilian, so my understanding of this is limited, but I'm pretty sure that it's the dedication to defend the country from all enemies, foreign and domestic that differentiates a soldier from a civilian. Correct me if I'm wrong.
If a "civilian force" is just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded but not just as dedicated, it'll fall apart at the first conflict. If it is as dedicated, it's no longer a civilian force.
A pious man's town was being flooded after some major storms. As the waters rose, he retreated to the roof of his house and began to pray for God to save him. Shortly after, a man in a canoe paddled up to the pious man's roof. "You need a ride?" said the man in the canoe. "No, The Lord will save me," replied the pious man. The man in the canoe continued downstream to safety. The waters continued to rise. A little later, a man in a powerboat arrived at the scene. "Want a lift?" asked the man in the boat. "No, the Lord will save me," replied the pious man. The man in the powerboat drove away. The waters continued to rise.
A little later, a helicopter showed up. The pilot said, "Get on! We're getting you out of here!" The pious man replied, "No, the Lord will save me." The helicopter flew away, as the storm was too dangerous for it to linger. The waters continued to rise. A little later, the pious man drowned. In Heaven, he went up to God and asked why He didn't save him. God replied, "I sent a canoe, a powerboat and a helicopter. Why didn't you use any of them?"
– unknown, but I hear it in at least one sermon a year.
"When you've done things right, people won't know if you've done anything at all."
–God, Futurama
Only God can save us, but we should still vote.
"Is Obama the Next Woodrow Wilson?"
Che it isn't so.
Obama naive, idealistic, and clueless? He's completely cynical. He's been nothing but a cynical politician from the day he arrived on the South Side of Chicago.
Exactly. God gave us free will, didn't he? Let's use it to stop these evil bastards!
[...] Is Obama the Next Woodrow Wilson? [...]
You called his speech "quite moving" ? Did not know it was possible to makes bullshit and lies moving, ever. You can't polish a turd bud, ill skip this article but thank's for tryin.
"Back Obama"… nice new nickname.
In listening to Obama’s speech last week at the UN I kept hearing the song “It’s A Small World After All” from that Disney park ride. I think that maybe the POTUS is naive at best, dangerously inept at worst. This isn’t some Thomas Moore Utopian Society we are talking about here. It is a dangerous world full of crazies (mostly in the mideast). You cannot talk to them, you can only defeat them. You cannot reason with a society that thinks it’s ok to kill your daughter simply because she was caught holding hands with a young man in public. People who are willing to blow themselves up in the name of Allah are not sane, reasonable people and you cannot treat them that way. As Paul Harvey used to say “It is not one world”. Obama is going to take us all down a very dangerous road if he doesn’t grow up and get a clue.
Let’s only hope O’bama doesn’t have a stroke like Wilson and Michelle steps in to deliver his ministrations thru her acting as a filter. This is what happened with Edith Wilson, a follower of the Webbs and the Bethmaite socialists in the UK, that gave us the monstrosity of the personal income tax.
I didn't want to bring that issue up in the article, but yes, it is also probably true.
It's absolutely true and sadly, easily provable, by just reading his Billy Ayers ghosted ( or should I say completely WRITTEN by ? LOL ) supposed auto-bio.
