I Condemn the NAACP: It Needs to Wake Up!
by Emery McClendon
I condemn the NAACP. I am really upset over their recent charge that the tea party movement is racist. When will these people wake up?
What is the basis of their allegations? Speaking from experience, I will say that the claims they seem to be relying upon are false. The NAACP has once again been duped by the left.
I organized a tea party rally in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I have also travelled around the State of Indiana speaking at similar events. I have attended events and rallies with other conservative groups in Chicago, Detroit, Washington, DC and elsewhere. I can say that these events were open to anyone that wished to attend. I was even recently awarded a plaque by a tea party group in Madison County, Indiana. Is this racism?
Wake up, NAACP!
You have once again shown that you do not do your homework on the issues, and you are being used to discredit a movement that only wishes to preserve our founding principles and the Constitution. These are principles of freedom that apply to all Americans.

The problem the NAACP has with the Tea Party is…That everyone IS invited and people from all backgrounds are finding common ground when it comes to Liberty, Freedom and Tyranny, and they do this via the Tea Party movement.
The Tea Party stands for equality for all, not just those that subscribe to their message. And that must really pain the leadership of the NAACP. Quite unfortunate for those that have struggled so many years to gain equality, and now are seeing all that hard work flushed down the toilet with the Presidents permission and approval.
Sad…
Most Americans are patriots and love there country. The left is gushing on this race card thing and it won't work. Thank you for standing up and delivering what is right. God Bless
Thanks Emery for all your hard work. I condemn the NAACP as well! What ever happened to "truth"? Doesn't anyone have a conscience any more?
Yes, most of us do have a conscience and you should never doubt it. It's easy to travel that path but the time is now to stand up, speak out and make a difference! I love my country.
Way to go Emery! A true American. The NAACP refuses to see that the equality that they have achieved, and that the Tea Parties practice, is being reversed by the Leftists, the fringe groups, and this Administration who, unfortunately, are determined to use race as an election tool!
Beautiful article Mr. McClendon. I am proud to stand next to you as an American!
Thank you for all your hard work.
I've said this before, but, to all you Tea Party activists, keep standing and make your voices herd. Don’t let anyone intimidate you. As Americans, we’ve faced a lot worse than the taunts from the liberal left. We’ve faced foreign armies, we’ve faced natural disasters, and we’ve even fought a civil war, yet we’re still here.
And if they keep pushing you, keep calling you names, keep ignoring you, keep calling you “irrelevant,” and keep trying to marginalize you, remember that you are fighting the good fight. Not only does this movement face tough challenges, but it requires you, yes you, to stand for something bigger than yourself. I know it sounds corny, but you can do it, trust me. I’ve seen what Americans are capable of and the average Tea Party member has what it takes to succeed. This is work men like Washington, Jefferson, and both Sam and John Adams would be proud of. Don’t let them down because of our enemies on the liberal left. We have a country to save, so let’s get to work.
As I read the last several blogs, I as a "white man" have to ask, is the NAACP still relevant and necessary? I am in an insulated little world called Iowa and after reading, starting with Mr. Parks, all of the comdemnation of this racist organization coming from black people with true power, the power of the press, I'm baffled. It seems that alot of "colored people " have advanced.
Here in the sticks "yall colored people" live in the streets. There is never any mention of successful black people. "Whitey" just beats ya down. Sharpton and Jackson and Wright preach that way.
Now that this new media has picked up the truth, maybe there will be a better picture of the community. Not the black or white community, but the whole community. God bless and help us all!!
For all those black American's that have been labeled "uncle toms" , I praise you all for your courage. You are like a "real" uncle I knew, loved and respected and most of all looked up to for guidance. Thank you.
As an American citizen and TEA Party member who happens to be trans gendered, I condemn the NAACP for their divisive rhetoric and actions against peaceful political opponents.
Racism and the smear of racism are despicable weapons against fellow human beings and we in the TEA Party resoundingly reject all forms of racism and racial bias.
I demand that the NAACP retract their divisive and hateful resolution and return to Dr King's vision of racial harmony and unity based on content of character and not the color of one's skin or political affiliations.
The tea party really is color-blind–the kind of society that the NAACP has been working towards for decades.
Thank you Mr. McClendon! I agree with other posters who say that the NAACP has tried for YEARS to accomplish what the Tea Party has done in mere months….to unite people for a cause. The difference being that the Tea Party includes ALL people………..who is racist again?
Emery…. I just read your profile and would like to thank you for your service to this Country. God Bless You!
The most disturbing of all is that the First Lady is behind the NAACP, does this mean she hates all White People or just all people who disagree with her Husband 54% of the country. Laura Bush, if nothing else was a lady, Hilary and Michelle could learn a lot from her.
It is too late for the NAACP to wake up.
They have just relegated themselves to Ku Klux Klan status.
A true hate group.
"You have once again shown that you do not do your homework on the issues, and you are being used to discredit a movement that only wishes to preserve our founding principles and the Constitution. These are principles of freedom that apply to all Americans."
Saul Alinsky would be proud of the NAACP for their participation with the media for harping on a point (even though it is not true) long and hard enough, it becomes a fact….only problem is….once folks become aware of the "Rules for Radicals" they realize what is being pitched at them.
The way I see it….and thank God it is finally happening….folks are educating themselves about issues. They are finally seeing the wool that has be pulled over their eyes. Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me!
One of the Bigs' more entertaining trolls pontificated on the "courage" that the NAACP was showing, by mouthing the same pap they've mouthed for the past decade.
The real courage on display here is the growing list of black commentators, saying in no uncertain terms, that the NAACP is to be condemned. To rise up and be counted among those who see the NAACP for what it is, in spite of what it may have been one time in the past, and to tie your name and face to that conviction, takes spheres of brass composition.
Absolutely!
The NAACP has not been fooled by the progressives. They know what really happened at the Washington healthcare rally THEY SET IT UP. in order to do what they just did.
They know their only route to power is the Dem party and Obama and will do the Obama shuffle ya sa master.
the best art about the "Uncle Tom" epithet is that the character in the book was killed because he wouldn't whip another slave. how this got twisted to mean "race traitor" I'll never understand!!
Mr. McClendon my friend, I am afraid those at NAACP and their ilk view you only as an "Uncle Tom". I find it so sad that that once-relevant organization seems nowadays to content itself with race-baiting and engaging in divisive activity that does nothing to help further the cause of civil rights.
Always watch the other hand when dealing with politicians like magicians.
In this edition of The Reality Report, Gary goes off on Chicago Mayor Richard Daley's end run around the Supreme Courts Second Amendment ruling. The headlines include what the new Chicago gun law really entails, a new bill that looks to put full body scanners in all domestic airports, how some Democratic Governors are worried about Obama's immigration lawsuit and a new internet spy system that wants you to be the, "Perfect Citizen." Clint Richardson, Co-Founder of We Are Change Utah, joins Gary to talk about the 2010 Axiom Conference. Also, Tom Woods author of, "Meltdown", sits down with Gary to discuss his new book, "Nullification." We also have exclusive footage from last week's Illinois Gubernatorial Debate. As always, we'll take a dip into the Mailbag and brand a new Enemy of the State.

I am DISGUSTED about being called a RACIST by NAACP & M. Obama! I've been fighting RACISM my whole life in GA & I'm a CRACKER & part of the TEA Party!
Read Rules for Radicals and you will see why they did this!
Also, read "The Overton window", it will keep you up at night!
amen! Peace.
Thanks for stepping forward Emery.
People want to hear the truth. The Tea Party Movement may not be picture perfect, but it's a start to clean up a our government that's become increasingly dirty.
So, a question arises…. "Cracker"? No matter how you fill in the blanks, when you resort to name calling anyone, you have lost the argument. How is this acceptable to anyone, let alone a group that positions itself as a bastion of self-righteous indignation for the demeaning treatment of “people of color” Hypocritical behavior and out right lies betray who and what these people really stand for.
Mr Mclendon, your name felt familiar to me when I read it, so I read your bio but it was not helpful.
Well, no matter, I just recognized you as an ally immediately.
Thank you Sir, for supporting we TPM folks, we appreciate your willingness to stand with us. I'm
sure you don't do so lightly. The disintegration of the NAACP is amazingly sad, but it's transformation
into something resembling the KKK is unbelievably tragic, IMO.
FIGHT on PATRIOTS ! ! !
Thank you, Mr. McClendon, for condemning this action by the NAACP.
I was always taught by my parents to never hate, and to treat all human beings equally, regardless of race, gender, religion, ethnicity, etc. As a result, my friends have always been what my parents called "The U.N.": Jewish, Canadian/Puerto Rican, Chinese, Korean, black, Indian, white (Italian, Polish, Irish, Heinz 57, etc.). Even my daughters' friends are not all white: black/white mix, Indian, Mexican-American, Asian and white. Not only that, but kids with parents of a differing political party (yup, some of my neighbor friends vote – egad! – Democrat!).
Whenever I hear those words by MLK, Jr., see what he went through to bring civil rights to blacks in this country, it makes me cry. It makes me cry because he did so much and after he died, they spit on his grave and turned to violence and victimhood. They gave into the Left, let the Left use them, and now they are reaping what they have sown – a community frought with all kinds of problems, including unwed mothers, gangs and drugs. Not all, of course, but I live in the L.A. area so I am not blind.
When I hear that disgusting man from the NBPP speak, it sickens me. Absolutely sickens me, as much as watching someone from the Klan speak, or even listening to Muslims speak about the West and other non-Muslims. It's nothing but HATE and it disgusts me to my very core.
We must stand together against this hate, as MLK, Jr. did – peacefully, in unity. And then we will prevail. Love will conquer all.
Amen Brother!
naacp ! GET OVER IT !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idn3mSP8-20
THANK YOU, Mr. McClendon, for standing up for TRUTH! God Bless You!!!
Mr. McClendon, I applaud your efforts in trying to stand up for what's REALLY important here – the founding principals of our Constitution. As a young man, I learned early on that I must learn who each individual is, and interact with that person based on the content of their character, not their race or sex. I also learned early in life that racism exists in many forms, regardless of a person's race.
Today's NAACP is no better than the KKK, because they're preaching the same kind of hatred spewed by the Klan, Al Qeada, the NCLR, La Raza, Hezbollah, the NBPP, and a host of others. Doctor King would surely disavow himself from today's NAACP, because they no longer espouse the values of equality for ALL Americans he devoted himself to, and ultimately gave his life for.
I firmly believe the TEA Party will be able to withstand these pointless attacks as long as people like you (and I) do our part to ensure that the TEA Party's belief that the basis for the rights of ALL Americans comes from the Constitution, and ensures that this is the basis for its core values. We must also ensure that our members engage the political debate the right way, avoiding slurs, racial epithets, and any other detractors from our core values, and to root out the pretenders in our midst who attempt to discredit the movement by showing up with their hate-filled signs or engaging the press in their weak attempts to pass themselves off as TEA Party members.
GOD Bless, and keep fighting the good fight!!!
Thank you McClendon
