Blackburn College and Police Intimidate Press Over Ken Snider Racial Incident?
by Dan RiehlAs reported in an earlier item, it’s unusual enough to learn of a police department visiting a newspaper to advise them to not pursue covering a story. New information obtained from reliable sources in Carlinville, Illinois makes it appear as though local authorities may have visited a local paper, the Macoupin County Enquirer-Democrat, advising them to stay away from Blackburn College in reporting on a racial incident involving Democrat Ken Snider due to allegations of student harrassment although no formal allegations appear to genuinely exist.
Information released from the Carlinville Police Department indicates a particular student called police to report the alleged harassment. However, the student is actually a member of security staff at the college. Blackburn employs students in as many areas as possible.
It’s claimed that the sudent simply went to her supervisor to inform them of her interaction with a reporter from the Enquirer-Democrat. The supervisor is said to have then stated that the reporter was on campus allegedly harrassing students, before directing the student security officer to call police and report it.
The Carlinville police report names the student security officer as the student claiming they were harassed. But based upon reliable sources at the Enquirer-Democrat, there was no indication that the student felt harassed in any way during their interactions with a reporter.
Local police then used that call to visit the newspaper and advise them to not return to the campus to question students regarding a racial incident at the Anchor Inn involving prominent Democrat Ken Snider.
Calls for comment to several contacts at the college and to the student have not been returned at time of posting. The supersisor of security at Blackburn had been out for an extended period due to a medical procedure and, just back today, claimed no knowledge of recent events when contacted, stating he had yet to get caught up on recent events.

If government holds authority to ban exercise of the Second Amendment from a college campus, so too does it wield that sword of enforcement regarding the First Amendment. Pretty ugly thought when considered in that light, huh?

Illinois governments routinely ban and punish the exercise of the Second Amendment rights all over this state, it should not come as a surprise that one is now doing so, openly, regarding First Amendment rights as well. Welcome to Illinois, the heart of Obamaland.
I have yet to figure out why journalists, who write endlessly in support of gun control measures, fail to see that they lobby against the very right they employ to make an economic living. Maybe this event will wake some of the up. Maybe.

Authorities have captured a 19-year-old California black man they say is responsible, along with six others, for the gang rape of an 11-year-old girl inside a park bathroom.
Michael Sykes, a gang member, was arrested Monday morning at a Moreno Valley home, police sources confirm to FoxNews.com.
Police allege that Sykes, along with six juvenile black gang members, raped the child in the bathroom at Moreno Valley's Victoriano Park between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. March 10, according to the Riverside Press-Enterprise.
The attack, which was on the south side of the city near Moreno Valley College, wasn't made public until Sunday, and police have not released further details about the incident.
"As a father — even as a police officer — there are crimes that shock us. This is one of them," Capt. John Anderson, chief of the Moreno Valley station, said.
Detectives told the newspaper that the girl was at a shopping center near the park when she was approached by an older black girl, who lured her to the bathroom where the six boys and the 19-year-old were waiting.
The attack was in an area where gangs and crime aren't a problem, Anderson said

It's hilarious to see the republicans jump on this story when it's a democrat who messes up because it is often the tea party and extreme right-wing fundamentalists committing the majority of racist hate crimes.
Both political parties are equally responsible in upholding white supremacy. This isn't just an isolated incident committed by a single rogue officer. Law enforcement as an institution is inherently racist and corrupt. There is no hope in reforming a broken system, it must be abolished.

I have had the misfortune to have lived in Illinois for the past six or eight months, and the sooner I can leave this state the better. Unfortunately for me, this is where the job was. But the climate of corruption, redneck, thuggish cronyism, and undercurrent of racism, coupled with the "if it moves, tax it" mentality of the state government is more than I can stand.
The part of Illinois in which I live also seems to have a sort of collective inferiority complex. And it is, in my opinion, entirely justified.
