There Is Something You Can Do to Stop Obamacare
by Doug O'BrienPolitics has often been called the “Art of the Possible.” We have seen many a strange thing happen in the history of American elections. But nothing would be more unexpected, or more immediately helpful to the American people, than if Republican State Senator Scott Brown could pull of the mother of all upsets and capture the special election for Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat on January 19th. A Brown victory would deny the Democrats the 60 votes necessary to shove through the takeover of the nation’s health care system.

For those political junkies who just assumed when Uncle Ted passed away that his seat would stay firmly in the grasp of the Howard Dean wing of the Democratic Party, take note, and take heart. State Attorney General Martha Coakley won the Democratic Primary with under 50% of the vote and has taken a cavalier attitude towards what she expected would be her coronation in the general.
Meanwhile, Senator Brown, and Army Reservist and an energetic campaigner, has been waging an insurgent battle that has pulled him to within nine points in the latest Rassmussen poll. According to Rassmussen, Brown’s surge is entirely due to a swing among independent voters, who can make the difference in Massachusetts in spite of the Democrats’ 3 to 1 edge in registration. Just ask GOP Governors Weld, Romney and Cellucci, who all have won statwide in the past two decades.
Even the New York Times, which would normally ignore any news that does not support its pro-Democrat narrative, has taken notice. It may be that the Gray Lady is trying to wake up the moribund Coakley campaign before it’s too late, but it is none the less a sign that this race is for real.
The Times also could not help but play its usual games trying to mischaracterize Brown, saying he hammered Coakley “as a ‘crusader’ for abortion rights,” implying that Brown is on the other side of the issue. Brown is, like almost all the remaining New England Republicans, pro-choice…apparently not pro-choice enough for the Times. The Times also fired shots at the messenger, joining others on the left to criticize Rassmussen’s methodology.
The fact remains that in normal circumstances, a state-wide elected Democrat with high name identification should be mopping the floor with an unknown state legislator in a state that Barack Obama won 62% of the vote.
The bottom line is that the movement among independent voters is attributable to Brown’s opposition to the Democrats’ health care bill. In Massachusetts, the state held up by Democrats as the example of how their idea of reform can work, the voters know differently. They are not pleased with the early results of the state’s health care reform. While it has brought many uninsured into the world of the covered, it has led to higher premium costs and tightened access for the vast majority of people with private coverage. This race is their chance to have their say on the Bay State’s experience and whether or not the idea should be taken much, much further in geographic, economic and regulatory terms.
It is also the only opportunity for Americans to have any say what so ever on the pending bill. Since the White House has weaseled out of its promise of transparency and Congressional leadership is holding the details closer than their ATM pin numbers, Americans can make a statement by helping Scott Brown in this race. If Brown has the resources to make a competitive media buy in the next two weeks, he could close the gap. Even if he falls short, the message will be unmistakable and could make other Democrats even more skittish about this albatross of a bill. Opponents of Obamacare across the country can easily toss a few dollars to Brown via his web site and it is the best way that Americans can actually prevent passage of the bill being crafted behind locked doors at this very moment.

Come on Massachusetts! Get Scott in first, kick out the Barnster second. You can do it!
You are forgetting who is Secretary of State and about Soros' SOS project. They have it in the bag and they know it and that's why Coakley is so cavalier. It will be hers by hook or crook!
Yes, MA, know that the rest of the country's conservatives are behind you! I live in Chicago, and I contributed to Brown today. This is your time to make a huge difference. Be the heroes!
I have contributed to Brown's campaign, but the reports that he approves of and supports RomneyCare leave me very nervous. Can we truly count on him to help to stop ObamaCare?
ACORN to the RESCUE!!! And we can be sure Coakley will pay them back for having to create votes in the winter!
At least there's a chance with him. There's no chance with the Coakley.
We should all move to Mass. , register and then vote…..lol nope, that would make us just like them and we dont really want that. However we all can give what we can to get Mr. Brown elected.
This office supports Massachusetts State Senator Scott Brown in his run for the United States Senate. Refreshingly, Senator Brown articulates his positions on even the most controversial issues openly and with no double speak. Do you support Brown or Coakley? We welcome your comments and votes: http://eyeonthelaw.blogspot.com/
Come on, if it's even close the Dems will steal it. Who's gonna stop 'em? The pansy Repubs? The "mainstream" media? Our legal system? Nah, it might be close, but not enough for Coleman/Franken like drama. Hell, they're probably looking for a way to rig it up front. Would that surprise anyone? Salvation lies further down the road…
Please feel free to pile on if I ultimately prove to be wrong, it would accept it gladly.
He has stated he will not vote for the bill.
You can help here, even from the comfort of your own couch. http://bit.ly/6FkIoM
I have my doubts that Brown can win. For a variety of reasons (liberal theivery among them), but it fun to watch them squirm and would be delicious if he won to watch that squirm turn into a seizure

Hey all you Dems in MA, I'm sure the NYT is right. The Rasmussen polls are bogus. Brown doesn't stand a chance. If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time traveling through the cold and snow to vote on the 19th.
Wouldn't it be a hoot if he won!!!
The Conservative Edge
I felt the same way before the governor's race here in NJ. I know the odds are still against us in Massachusetts, but I'm still hopeful.
Is the national Republican party still refusing to support this campaign? People wonder what the Repubs can do to win back America – well let's support our own conservative candidates for one thing – even in a liberal bastion like Taxachusetts!
I'm going to send a few $$$$ from California right now.
We sent Brown a donation last night..I'm wishing he wins, but
even if he doesn't I'll feel like I did "something"…
i live near boston i know martha coakley is no good she discriminates and ill be at the poll at 8 am voting! i used to be a democrat but went independant when i couldnt vote for bush or gore they both sucked then same with kerry thean this time mccain was at least a veteran! I have been independant since 200 im going specifically for brown! healthcare for all is a noble idea but bribery and extortion to get votes (see nebraska) and buying a vote for million in indefinate medicaid/care state contribution costs is criminal not only unethical and fraudulent! even the terminator can't believe what is going on!
voteing for brown i was alway a middle of the road type but im leaning to the right now cause i don't see any middle it disaapeared and the left is acting like a dictatorship disreguarding the peoples with and clean or ethical process bribing votes and dishonoring pledges to show the public whats going on then making 2,000 page bills not letting a reasonable time to read and disect them this is how hitler rose to power in the 1930's aren't we supposed to learn from history????

besides we already have the botox king in one of the seats i dont wanna put the botox queen next to the king
So, how dirty is Mass. when it comes to voting? Of course, Minnesota just proved, in the 2008 elections, that any state can have vote fraud and official corruption when it comes to voting so maybe my question is trite! Still, I hope that honest poll watchers can monitor the vote on 1/19/10 and that the resident citizens of Mass. realize how important it is to vote for Scott!
This Texan is in for $50. I said in the comments section that if he doesn't win, Texas may be forced to secede from the union.
I HOPE Brown can pull off a miracle here, but remember we are talking about the state that keeps re-electing Barney Frank.
Herbie – you are so incredibly right (correct) on this. I am conservative, but initially thought, you know, give the new president a chance – I was not too politically inclined until this year. We have all watched while our govt has gone nuts, close door negotiations, bribery, not letting the people see the legislation – much less the legislators not even reading what they vote on! While the Dems are now in power, it's not normal Dems, it is the radicals doing things that the American people just plain old don't want. It's like the ends justify the means, but here, we have always prided ourselves on the means being fair, aboveboard, debated, challenged, and worked out in full view of the public. I am sure there were always backroom deals – but now it is in our face front and center. This country is pretty well 50/50, but it seems like the ultraleft 10% is ramrodding our normal process.
I am from out-of-state and donated to Brown. Bachmann got several hundred thousand dollars in less than a week from out-of-state donation; Brown will probably get more. Dems under estimate the Tea Party movement.
Just gave mine, too! All the way from CA!
Texas Attorney General said he will sue if the Healthcare bill passes – Don't mess with Texas!!
I gave and sent along a comment not to support Obamacare, cap and trade, card check ect. I hope he isnt a RINO, we have enough of them already.
The SEIU has been funding a push polling, dirty tricks stunt, calling voters and alleging Brown receives support from hate groups. In one such call, the caller mentioned being from McGuire, which has been a company that has conducted similar push polling stunts for corrupt dems, and the SEIU.
I just made a contribution to Scott Brown for U.S. Senate and I'm hoping you will do the same. You can donate by going to https://www.icontribute.us/scottbrown. Thank you for your support!
I sent money from California. Now, YOU IN MA…GET OUT AND VOTE!
What a refreshing and honest statement herbie. I hope you feel proud for standing up for what is just. Because you should! Kudos!
I donated to both. Yes the socialist pigs underestimate us. I hope they dont change that but they are a sly bunch.
This Californian donated $35. I wish him the best.
Made a $35 contribution to Brown's campaign just a few hours ago–and I live in Illinois. Stop reading and contribute!
Maybe so. Are you just going to give up?
$250 incoming from the bankrupt state of California. Scott Brown will do MA good, and honorably too. About time they get an honorable Senator.
as well as voting for shamnesty for illegal aliens thus securing more dimocrap voters!
I tried to post a comment on your page, but it wouldn't accept my name in any format. Kept on insisting for OpenID. At any rate, good luck to Scott Brown. We need him in Mass. Meanwhile, you could sink your teeth into this and respond: http://www.examiner.com/x-25466-DC-Independent-Ex...
Never, ever, ever give up! But if it came down to another Coleman/Franken fiasco, I don't think I could bear it. I still think Coleman won that race.
Here's a hundred from California, you can pay me back when we get rid of Boxer. For those who say this can't be done, get out of the way.
The Dems only need 51 votes the next time through on health care, so it might not help, but it will be good to get this seat and start taking back the country.
Gary__K,
I gave to him with a similar message.
It's fair if its used to counter the dead Kennedys that still vote.
From MD over here!
Thats true, hey I wonder how many states Mickey Mouse lives in?
It would be nice to have an open thread here on Breitbart Jan 19th, seeings as it looks like we're all gonna be watching that race very closely!
Make us proud, Massachusetts! Lead the US to FREEDOM once more…!
Not anymore…everyone is watching too closely now….
But go ahead and try, Dems…we can always send you to the new prison rather than the terrorists, or along with them…
Besides, you won't be able to get a cab or a seat on the bus, they'll be too full..
I agree with you GACE. I happen to come across the article today about Soros' SOS project which I remember reading about a while ago. I'm sure this is how BHO won Ohio in the last election. Jennifer Brunner is our Demo SOS. PATRIOTS need to keep an eye on states with DEM SOS'.
Absolutely! I'm supporting DeVore – he could use a boost, too, against the better funded Fiorina – if we all just donated even $10 to the conservative candidates all over the nation, we might just pull this off!
I AM SENDING MONEY IMMEDIATELY TO GET THIS MAN ELECTED. I LIVE IN SOUTH CAROLINA REPRESENTING CONSERVATIVE BLACKS. FOLKS, BELIEVE ME IN THE NORTH WHEN I TELL YOU WE HAVE SEEN THE ERROR OF OUR WAYS. BLACK AMERICANS — VOTE YOUR VALUES — AND YOU VOTE REPUBLICAN. 2010 IS THE YEAR OF THE BLACK VOTER. KARL ROVE SAID IT WOULD BE 2008. IT'S 2010.
Bigger miracles have happened. Good luck, Mr. Brown! I'll be sending a check.
Donated $50 from Central Illinois. Best to you, Mr. Brown!
Yes.. Keep the CHANGE GOING !
Come Nov. 2 as well as 2012… it can.. IT WILL be done !
OH.. and KICK OUT FRANK while we're at it !

It will still need 60 for cloture, the republicans made a parlimentry move, something about confering, that makes Brown the 60th vote and the death null, if elected, fof this horrendous mistake.
If it's as close as they say, Brown better get some good lawyers right now. There's a reason Democrats always pull ahead in a recount, and it isn't because the vote counters suddenly started counting correctly.
I'm in. I'll have to check into the differences between Fiore and DeVore but I've got your back.
I don't want to pile on you – I know it's frustrating. But could I persuade you to send a few bucks to his campaign anyway?
I wouldn't mind if everyone gave an educated vote. However, it seems recently and all too quickly, in the ballot box, people are putting dollar signs $ instead of checkmarks.
I contributed to Brown also, from Washington state… I wish I could do more.
Massachusetts, I beg you, save us!!
Pass the word – Chuck DeVore is fantastic. I organized a Tea Party and he came and spoke when I made it very clear that we were not GOPers and were very ticked off at the R party as much as the Ds. A great guy that has served his country and understands what needs to be done to set things right. All conservatives can support him, he deserves it. We have got to put the boot to (sir, call me Senator) Boxer!
…and Tennessee.
Scott Brown swearing-in would be stalled so health-care reform could pass….http://www.bostonherald.com/business/healthcare/v... Bunch of crooks!
You Sir, are a good man and you are very welcome amongst us. We Tea Party people don't give a darn about color (despite Ms. Garafalo's statements to the contrary), we care about our country – speaking as part native American – We are all Americans and our govt should represent ALL of us – not bribes for votes, not corruption, not backroom deals, not reading legislation that is voted on (isn't this their job?), not openly debating the issues before the public, and these are not right or left issues.
No no! Happily you are wrong about them needing 51 votes. Since Jim Demint objected to conferees, they now need 60 votes and have to go through 2 cloture votes to get it passed again!! Jim Demint deserves to President for being the only Repub with B*LLs!!!
So nice to see conservatives of all stripes and colors joining forces.
We share more commonalities than we have differences.
Massachusetts is the lynch pin to putting a halt to Obamacare. Lynch? Hey. Wait a minute. Now there's an idea. Ladies first.
I think this is the candidate who is running, or did run, a campaign commercial of a JFK speech about "cutting taxes to kick-start job and economic growth" and the commercial morphs into Brown saying JFK's words. Drove the Dems and the Kennedys into a frenzy, which is enough by itself to make me root for this guy!
Check is in the mail for $50. (No BS!) This SE Texan is helping fight this crap tooth, nail, AND wallet! Remember people, pray to God (He IS back, you know) everynight that this and the rest of their sh!t doesn't happen like they want it…I want our country back! Please Mass, get us out of this MESS!
Sorry to disappoint you quarrelling types–but I already voted for Brown absentee. Now all I have to worry about is dying before election day. SEIU, Martha Coakley & her stooges, etc. may try to kill me. If Coakley tries to throw me in jail I still can vote until convicted AND sent to prison; Coakley was heavily associated with the infamous Fells Acre Child Abuse case and consideres it her proudest moment.
Look for the tour busses coming in to Mass in the coming days, remembering it's not tourist season.
I think Coleman won too. That's the Dem way: recount, keep "finding votes" until you're ahead, then stop.
If Coleman had taken that seat, as he should have, 0bamaCare would be dead.
Please everyone send $1, $2.$3, $4 or $5 dollars to Brown's campaign. Soro's is going to fund the liberal and we all know that. I sent a small amount to Christie and McDonnel even though I'm not from their state. We need to do the same for Brown. Your money isn't going to be worth anything anyway if Obowma keeps going. Please give… http://www.brownforussenate.com/

The Tea Party movement will see Brown win the Kennedy replecement in Maccschucetts Senate race.
The Dems are trying to find ways to pass 0bamaCare if Brown wins. Via Hot Air:
" The notion of a Republican winning Ted Kennedy’s seat remains unlikely, despite (or perhaps because of) the recent hubbub around the race.
But it’s a real enough possibility that Democrats have started to consider the question. There are, it appears, two ways health care reform could still pass, in theory, after a victory by state Sen. Scott Brown in Massachusetts a week from Tuesday.
The first is simple, if controversial: Get it through between the time the polls close and the new senator is sworn in…
The second path is a different kind of heavy lift. The Senate does not, in fact, need to act on the bill anymore. It has already passed a version. With Brown seated, the White House could prevail upon House Democrats to pass the Senate bill as written…"
Thanks SJCTeaParty!
I'll definitely take your recommendation to heart as I Google him. It's best for ALL of us to get rid of Boxer.
Diitos Galt fan!! This is the first test since the Richie /Franken/Soros disaster!!
I will pray for this man if he is the only chance we have.
Trying to be the ultimate optimist here. Think some of the original 60 that voted for this disaster will do the typical routine of voting for it before they voted against it. Here's to hoping that several of them have "seen the light".
You mean Bawney Fwank?
off topic, but Rachel on MSNBC has validated us tonight! Running scared.
SJC as in San Juan? Just wondering. I too support Chuck DeVore, a true conservative. Please, everyone get behind Chuck and help him. He has a tough battle. Carly is a RINO. I have contributed money to Scott Brown and am disturbed to read that the Dems say they refuse to allow Brown (if he wins) to be sworn into office until after the HC vote. Talk about absolute corruption.
You are forgetting who is Secretary of State and about Soros' SOS project. They have it in the bag and they know it and that's why Coakley is so cavalier. It will be hers by hook or crook!
My $35 form georgia is in! Please Lord, let this help deliver us from evil!
Gave my $9.12 donation, come on, I don't care how bad your circumstances are, you can afford this! Rally to Brown and tell Brown to stop this healthcare tragedy.
As corrupt as the Democrats are, they're not used to having to steal elections here in MA because they easily win usually. But Brown has the same magic formula that carried Weld, Cellucci and Romney to victory – a stealthy surge, a crappy economy, a pathetic and weak opponent, and quite possibly bad weather.
I am pleased to be able to contribute to Mr. Brown. I am from Alabama and I wish him success in the election. It is no longer enough for us to be active in local elections. We must join with and support deserving candidates regardless of which state they are campaigning in.
Donated $25, good luck.
I just found this article….
Scott Brown's swearing in would be stalled to pass
health care reform…
http://www.bostonherald.com/business/healthcare/v...
This makes me sick!!…These jerks have more tricks up their sleeves then a
magician!!…I don't think our forefathers would be one bit proud of the way the
politics have been going in our country….
I read that supporters of the free market had the same hopes of Richard Nixon. Luckily you can <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=Joe+L+Kennedy+for+Senate">do better.
Why would he do that – if he supports mandated health insurance on the state level why not the federal level?
http://www.google.com/search?q=Joe+L+Kennedy+for+...
Yea, you voted for hope and change alrighty.
http://www.google.com/search?q=Joe+L+Kennedy+for+...
And from NJ
Brown is on Hannity AND Mitt will spend his segment on Greta talking about Brown. It may be superficial, I know, but, Brown is like the Bradley Cooper of politics, so if he does well on Hannity, he should garner some younger votes, too. I'll donate again on the 1/11 bomb!
Obama better hurry and pass it, this guy cold win in just a few days.
