My children and my ex-husband live in Toronto and I will have to disagree with you on a lot of points. My daughter had been waiting for some seroius treatment now for two years and because of some bureaucratic mumbo jumbo, she is still waiting. My ex needs surgery on the colon and has been waiting for 6 months now.

A lot of doctors have left Ontario to start up clinics here in the United States because they could not make a living there. There is a shortage of doctors. You might like the system, but if you don't have a supplemental health plan with OHIP, then you just might as well sit in a clinic with the masses.

I live in Ontario Canada and this is simply not true. There are some areas that are underserviced by doctors but these are mostly rural areas. Everyone that I know has a family doctor and I can easily switch to a new family doctor today if I wanted to. It is true that there are some long waits for non essential medical services(sports injuries, bunion surgery, hip replacements) but if you are diagnosed with a critical illness you are taken care of right away at no cost to you. I know someone who had breast cancer who was in surgery within 10 ten days. The benefit of our health care system is that every single person in Canada is eligible for it and there is no charge for it. If a homeless person gets cancer they get the same treatment as a wealthy person. I frequent walk in clinics a lot because my family doctors hours are not convenient for my schedule. I have never waited more than a half hour for care. It really is a good system and I would take it any day of the week over the current system in the United States.

Health care will be fought like the war. Instead of letting the competent military officials take care of the war, the politicians in DC handcuff them. Now, instead of getting care from your doctor, DC will be handcuffing your physician. Great, just frickin' great.

By the By as Ron cut our revenues (to make millionaires more comfy)
He spent more money. More money than all other presidents combined up to that point . Until
"Little H" came along that is. He at least had 2 wars for an excuse. Try to
remember the "little H "ave all of us the 700 billion dollar Business Bailout NOT
the Big "O".and he demanded no accountability. They could do what they wanted with it .
I think that's because Business can always be trusted to act n the nations best interest.
What are we left with ? Well Know, as the saying goes you
have to spend money to make money. I hope it works too. One
hing I'm pretty sure of,doing nothing will be much more painful for manymore folks.

Well Except maybe those millionaires I was talking about earlier .

Hope somebody takes this to heart and decides to listen to FM radio for a
while.

We have had a Government that has for the most part stayedout of our lives
unless Business and local organizations and or government couldn't or wouldn't do what
needed to be done. Then usually ONLY when
prodded by it's people or scandals or the common good was threatened
We have the lowest rate of taxation (save Korea ) of any Industrialized
country. That brings up another stat I don't understand is not discussedopenly.
During conservadoms reign of Ronald the Regan. taxes were
cut for the richest of us all by almost half for anybody making over. well a lot more
than all of us writing and reading this silly stuff.."little Bush" cut them by the half mark years later To revert
back this coming year. Ever since then in peace or war the US of A has gotten more seriously in the hole.
As a matter of record between Ron and HW's presidency's. our deficit grew by leaps and bounds. no fiscal
conservatives in the house.

3)Just a personnel comment on my own experience with the Medicare program.
I am currently the care giver for my 78 year old mother-law .
I took care of my 78 year old mother for the last 6 mo. before she died of lung cancer.
Finally my wife died after a long illness.
. Anyhow the former two were on Medicare. Guess what folks
he government doesn't get involved in your healthcare at all, Nada. Folks the
government run SINGLE PAYER system does not get involved in any way
in your healthcare decisions period!!! . Think about this gentle folk. The Gov. has a lot of
companies it does business with .It expects them to deal honorably with it's Gov. live up to its contract with Gov.
Unfortunately that does not always happen . Not with healthcare not with defense contractors yada,yada . Who do you suppose has defrauded Medicare, well mostly healthcare providers and Insurance
companies. These are the people you want in charge. They have proven
themselves to be scoundrels and thieves over and over again.

next please i swear it's almost over
