GOP Will Win House and Senate
by Dick MorrisStanley Greenberg and James Carville claim that the Republican Party has peaked too soon. Incredibly, Greenberg says that “when we look back on this, we’re going to say Massachusetts is when 1994 happened.” Stan’s only claim to expertise in the 1994 elections, of course, is that he’s the guy who blew it for the Democrats. Right after that, President Clinton fired both of the flawed consultants and never brought them back again.

Their latest pitch is that the highpoint of the GOP advance was the Scott Brown election and that, from here on, things will “improve slightly” for the Democrats.
Once again, Carville and Greenberg are totally misreading the public mood. Each time the Republican activists battle, they become stronger. Their cyber and grass roots grow deeper. The negatives that attach to so-called “moderate” Democratic incumbents increase. And each time Obama, Reid and Pelosi defy public opinion and use their majorities to ram through unpopular legislation, frustration and anger rise.
Were Obama’s ambitions to slacken, perhaps a cooling-off might eventuate. But soon the socialist financial takeover bill will come on the agenda, followed by amnesty for illegal immigrants, cap-and-trade and card-check unionization. Each bill will trigger its own mobilization of public opposition and add to the swelling coalition of opposition to Obama and his radical agenda.
And, all the while, the deficit will increase, interest rates will rise and unemployment will remain high.
Meanwhile, the political process will generate more and more strong Republican challengers. We have yet to see if former Gov. Tommy Thompson of Wisconsin or Dino Rossi of Washington state will emerge to challenge Sens. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) and Patty Murray (D-Wash.). Better House candidates will decide to capitalize on the momentum and will jump into the race and Republican donors will come out of hiding, their efforts catalyzed by the growing optimism about GOP chances.
Presaging the looming Republican sweep is the shift in the party ratings on various issues. Rasmussen has the Republicans ahead by 49-37 on the economy and 53-37 on healthcare. His likely-voter poll shows GOP leads on every major issue area: national security (49-37), Iraq (47-39), education (43-30), immigration (47-34), Social Security (48-36) and taxes (52-34).
When Republicans are winning issues like education, healthcare and Social Security — normally solidly Democratic issues — a sweep of unimaginable proportions is in the offing.
Will the rise in economic growth and job creation — if they continue — offset the Republican gains? Not very likely. Remember Bill Clinton’s 1994 experience. Even though the recession had officially ended in the quarter before he took office and he proudly pointed to the 5 million new jobs that had been created during the first two years of his presidency, Clinton got no bounce from the jobs issue or the economy. Even in the election of 1996, the economy was only marginally a source of strength for the Democratic president. It wasn’t until impeachment that the job growth that had been ongoing since he took office began to work heavily in his favor with the public. The hangover from a recession, and certainly from one as violent as this, lasts a long time. A very long time.
And all this assumes that things will, indeed, improve. Worries about inflation loom large and concerns that higher taxes and interest rates will trigger a new downturn also abound. As long as the deficit is as high as it is, there is no solid foundation for a sustained period of economic growth.
Finally, Obama is now responsible for healthcare in America. When premiums rise, it will be his fault. When coverage is denied, it will be on his watch.
When Medicare cuts kick in, it will be Obama who gets the blame.
Carville’s last book touted “40 more years of Democrats.” Now he dreams of a loss of “only” 25 seats in the House and “six or seven” senators. But these are pipe dreams. Republicans will gain more than 50 House seats and at least 10 in the Senate, enough to take control in both chambers. That’s reality.

Lets not forget about the little secret that was in the so called Health Care Bill.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IM-JiGGYJ5w&fe...
If you think government is looking out for you, you have another thing coming.
God Bless America
From your lips, to God's ear, Dick…if we fail in 2010, 2012 won't really matter.
Add foreign policy and national security to the mix.
Michael
if we fail in 2010, we will all be wearing gray jumpsuits with the OBAMAMESSIAH logo stiched in the upper right chest corner, or left corner who will we the AMERICAN PEOPLE be to decide??
I predict it will be a rout of epic proportions in November 2010. The Dems have NO IDEA how p—ed off the American public is. They've lost the indy's, the right is solidly together and even Dems a seeing the light, it's a small % of Dems but they will be made irrelevant as a party for at least the next 2 election cycles (if not more). The American People have woken up and realize that giving the Dem party this kind of power is tantamount to leaving an alcoholic alone in a beer factory. They cannot be trusted, the must be marginalized and will be come November. Bank on it!
Good, then we will have people with a different label growing government and destroying our liberty. BFD.
Of course Carville is going to say that. The sickness that twists his mind also affects his eyes and ears! Let him keep believing that. He's that guy on the plane going down…while everyone else is saying OMG! We're all gonna die!…he's sitting there thinking that he'll be the one to make it out alive. Good for him. He might as well remain calm. It's out of his control anyway.
Dick Morris is almost always right on in hie predictions. Thanks for posting this.
I think James Carville is the one not seeing the whole picture. This insulting Socialistic Democrat control, will not be forgotten. This runs deep and wide among Americans. Even Democrats who voted for Obama's puke won't do it again, but they will remember. It's going to be a long hot summer watching the Democrats trying to destroy the Nation, but November will come.
Just remember Republicans we Conservative will have our eyes on you too. No screw ups!
Can you say "Whistling past the graveyard?" Their arrogance will be their downfall.
People, you can help make Morris' prediction a reality by getting involved. Voting is good, but your local and national candidates need help getting the word out. Volunteer whatever you can in those efforts, PLEASE.
And have fun at the Tax Day TEA parties!
I despise the acronym used but I'm concerned that dhasselhoff is right. We gave Bush a Republican Congress and what did they accomplish towards smaller government, reducing fraud and waste and the elevation of states' rights? Nothing! They wasted their opportunity; in fact Bush increased government intrusion via education.
We need to demand that Federal politicians return to the Constitution, implement the Fair Tax and get the federal government out of education, banks, businesses and controlling our lives via the EPA! I will be at the Tea Party rally on Tax Day (4/15) and I will be volunteering at the local elections board to help get more average Americans aware of the issues and involved. No more just voting; it's obviously not enough.
I can, but it makes me happier to think of him sitting in a crashing plane. I really wish the guy would just dry up and blow away. He sickens me.
We can only hope Mr. Morris, BUT, lets not forget about the zombie voters out there! We have seen examples of them recently when Reid was mocking Palin, throwing eggs at the TP bus etc. This is a group no one was aware of in '08 election where we learned after it how many new voters popped up mobilized by ACORN SEIU etc. These are the people who are not paying attention to the news, that really believe via word of mouth that healthcare is free. I have encountered several who really thought is was, I have also encountered college students not aware of the other side of the argument be it healthcare, climate change etc.. these are the people wo don't know where the money is coming from but they want their share, these are the people expecting handouts, these are the people who just feel they have it coming to them just because, and these are the people who are just generally out of touch with reality. People we have seen attending Obama speeches looking at him in awe who are ok with his policies and this radical agenda being put in place, these people have influence over those who don't know any better. I frankly do not understand those who think it is ok to take from one to give to another.. its my money, food etc if I want to give it I will do it myself. Yet we have people among us, friends, family, co-workers who think this way. These are the ones that are dangerous to the American way of life they do not believe in it.
The repub party is over confident right now, they think they have Nov as a lock, don't be so quick to claim victory. I have asked repeatedly here why are the socialists(former dems as of 3/21/10) so brazen to continue on this course where their constituents are telling them they will be fired? Anyone one of us would stop in our tracks, yet this radical group is full steam ahead. What is it they know, what has their messiah promised them? ACORN did not go away it is still there under new names and mission statements. SEIU is clearly involved in WH policy, what is it Andy Stern is working on for BHO? The HC bill being passed is onestep closer to locking millions of new votes the next step is illegal immigration reform. If they vote on it and ram it through the same way as the HC bill will be some buried clause allowing illegals now given amnesty the right to vote? Outlandish thinking you say? Really? How much garbage is in the HC bill thats now being uncovered? The Reserve Corps, billions going out to the insurance companies who knows what else is buried in that 2300pg joke.
No sorry something is at work behind the scenes do not assume fellow patriots that Nov is a lock. The socialist party and their aster have something up their sleeve, something does not seem right. Stay on guard stay on these people 24/7 and do what you can to wake as many people as you can up b/c the socialist have an army of zombie voters they are banking on come Nov. This is a game to them… STOP playing their game and start playing your game throughhttp://www.savingtherepublic.com
Hopefully there will be a 'recall' mechanism for elected officials in the immediate future. If we can hire, we should be able to fire on our terms, not theirs. We cannot afford to suckered by another smooth talking opportunist or radical. This tail has wagged the dog for far too long.
Carville was good when the president had star power and talk radio was the only dissenting media outlet. It would appear he misjudges the depth of the revolution. The opening day pitch was soooo symbolic. REPEAL!
If they ram through amnesty for illegals, the only safe Democrats left will be those in minority-dominated districts, and those Senators not up for re-election!
GOP will win House and Senate?
We could ony hope.
But with their track record, if anyone could snatch a defeat from the jaws of victory, the GOP could.
I wouldn't break out the party hats yet.
God youse people are stoopid anon.
I really believe the way CONgress has treated America with the Health Care Bill there will be nothing that can keep the Dims in the majority in the fall. We are awake and know what has been done to us and it wasn't pretty. We understand the progs desire to take over our liberties and produce a nanny state. It will not matter if they continue to cram more bills down our throats….we have had our fill of their BS and anyone can predict this…..though I will give credit to Morris predicting this early on before the Bill passed.
Dick may be correct, if the republicans do not lose focus on restoring the constituional balance to our central federal monolith.
The left, so apparently devoid of originality, has devolved to schoolyard arguments to defend obviously awful policy. I especially like their argument in favor of healthcare. Other countries nationalized healthcare, so we should too!! And if you do not agree, you are a Klansperson. Nyah, Nyah, Nyah, Nyah, Nyah… Nyah.
How much longer will the citizenry swallow this infantile logic before retiring the current ruling elite, now in power since 1932?
Now that the Left’s rhetorical argument in support of their agenda is reduced to calling everyone who disagree a bigot, perhaps the socialist tide can be pushed back. More to the point, it, and they, deserve to be.
Here’s hoping for some real change this time around.
Best,
Lazy Jack

Wow…..there it is again……the sound of a queef!!!
Ditto Mark G, we'll be right behind them with our pitchforks at their backs, to keep them from
being tempted from slowing down, or stumbling a few steps to the left.
Look in the mirror anon…you'll see the exact definition of "toe sucking moron"….
In a very strange way I share this fear. However, work in Republican primaries has been done at a level not seen in recent years. Solid fiscal conservatives are challenging the patrician class. The scary part for me is the time this will take (at least 6 years) and the attention span of the electorate. For now, Big Government Republicanism is persona non grata.
The silent majority will make a very loud statement in November.
Poor Anon is delused, just a lil too much FoolAid.
"The GOP has no chance. None"
Perfect example of the liberal view point. I've always said, give em enough rope and they'll hang themselves.
I'm afraid the Dems will dangle an immigration/amnesty program out there & "purchase" a huge block of votes.
If you think the demonstrations against "health care" were big, just wait to see what happens if they try to offer any kind of amnesty or voting rights to illegals. With "health care" they were able to fool a few people into believing that they would benefit from their "reform." Outside of the illegals themselves, who will they be able to fool into thinking they will benefit from an amnesty program?
The proposition to the American people needs to be made very simple
Bigger Government = Less Freedom
Smaller Goverment = More Freedom
Do the American people want to be treated like children, or do they want to be treated like adults?
Yeah, it does make for a better visual.
My thoughts exactly John, there isn't a chance in hell that people will sit down and shut up on that one ~
Even many of the Dimwits!
Nov,2010 is anticipated like the Superbowl – our Superpoll.
Everyday the Obama&co. mystique is chipped away more and more.
Today we are told they will remove religious terms such as "Islamic extremism" from the central document outlining the U.S. national security strategy. No more Islam, Jihad, Islamic fundamentalists. Must be the "Ostrich Defense Initiative".
Fits in well with his nuclear disarmament(of America) and anti-anti-missile mentality.
A message from Anon, a maggot infested, salad tossing, parasitic, abnormally unenlightened, limp wristed, metrosexual, envious, waste of oxygen dweeb, whose only concern is, “what’s in it for me!”
But lets not get overconfident, people.
Do what Scott Brown did in the Massachusetts race: even when he was polling ten points ahead, he and his staff deliberately acted as if the polls were lying and campaigned as if they were 10 points behind.
Never assume we're ahead, and don't believe any of the polls until at least the day after election day (when we know the results of the only polls that matter).
I love it, and we should shoot for 70 senators, veto proof. If Scott Brown can win in MA, anything is possible.
Disagree with with someones viewpoint and ideas and of course…they must be a racist….Right????
I disagree with President Obama….But I agree with Thomas Sowell……..oh the confusion…..so who is looking at skin color…more often then not..the left……agree with them and your good…disagree and you must be a racist
Ha ha. The worm has spoken.
"The GOP has no chance. None."
Tell that to Jon Corzine. The most well "connected" billionaire politician in a state with just about the strongest democrat machine in the country couldn't beat the GOP.
Hey worm, here's a little phrase I want you to get used to hearing:
We win, You lose.
Just watched this. Two page provision of Health Bill: 6,000 people in the direct service to the president at his discretion; the power to conscript the National Guard troops from the governors, even against their will; 17M funding for now. All in peacetime. Given what this thugocracy has done with ACORN and SEIU, my mind reels when trying to imagine what it might do with an armed militia.
I think if someone came up with a catchy phrase or two, that the "illegals" won't want amnesty.
In Spanish—We will give you amnesty, then take half your money through taxes and give to the gringos who don't work. It's called fairness. , signed –Democrats
Yeah! Did you see the comment Tom Coburn (whom I like?) made that the Pelosi witch is a nice person. Very McCain like admonishing a crowd in Wisconsin in ’08 that Barry’s a nice guy.
AB, this dickhead needs to have his posting privileges revoked.
He is not here to debate or contribute, only to inflame and call people names.
Why don't you do something about this?
Another eloquent post by our favorite troll. The quality of your intellectual input on this thread is always appreciated, if for no other reason than allowing us to be reminded how thoroughly bankrupt the left is.
You are so right! Something is going on that we aren't aware of and I also believe this is why the left is so arrogant. This whole plan for bringing the US down has been going on for many years now. Does anyone really think that the health care bill was written by this administration? We'd better be very wary because something's not right…..and I'm not referring to all the obvious here.
Dick Morris — Worst Pundit in America — your record speaks for itself:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mark-nickolas/worst...
You are wrong. Our ideology offers to care for Americans like loving parents, yours throws them into the street and demands they behave like adults.
This will continue to play well with the American people, in their hearts they are children looking for a father figure that they have found in Obama and will reject the cold reality of freedom becasue that is the only thing your side has to offer.
Make the elections in May and November a "carpool the neighbors" affair friends don't let friends stay home on election day!!!
Carry them if you have to, that's how we will win!!!
Right on, Sam. But I want you to remember something about the Bush years. After the 2000 battle with algore was won, most Republicans and conservatives breathed a sigh of relief and went back to work, or back to sleep.
THAT will not happen again for at least a generation because it will take us all that long to begin to undo the damage the old Republicans and the current democrats have inflicted on us.
Thats not true, like all liberals I am a loving, kind, intelligent and compassionate parent figure.
That's why we are winning in the polls, people know we care about them and are willing to take from the rich and give to them so that they can prosper as is their right under our system of government.
My lack of wrist strength is a sign of a higher order of evolution, but you are too foolish to understand the concept.
Just remember that the foot fetisher predicted a win for Hillary. I like him, but he's wrong 1/2 the time and his past has never really left him. He is not to be trusted.
Hey Anon when you love a Washington politician, how does that work? When you go potty do you get clearance from your Messiah.
Agreed. The Repubs, if the same people stay long enough, will eventually turn Big Gov – but for the interim, we can expect some progress in slowing, and maybe even slightly reversing, government growth. The problem is the veto power until 2012 – and if Repub's in general can stay on the Limited Government bandwagon and away from the booze of Big Gov Power.
Throw in a problem like a nuclear Iran or another war for national security… it could be a mess by 2014 or 16.
This is another lesson you right wing cretins need to understand.
We accomplish so much because we are civil and respect other people, we dont debase ourselves with petty personal attacks.
god you people are stupid.
Obama does not know how to move to the center like Clinton did.
Obama does not know how to move to the center like Clinton did.
"Our ideology offers to care for Americans like loving parents, yours throws them into the street and demands they behave like adults."
God you are stupid.
Sixty years ago, eighteen year olds were slaying Germans and Japs. They saved the world from the same type of Fascism that you are now promiting. Today, an eighteen year olds greatest crisis, is uploading tunes in their i-pod thingey.
I have been on my own since I was fifteen. Now youse people want children sucking on their parents teat, and the government dole.
Y'all are f**king pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so dissapointed with where my former party has gone. The far left has choked common sense right out of it.
I am so dissappointed that people like ..Anon….who writes above about Teabaggers…..thinks attacking the Tea partiers becasue they disagree with the role government is now playing in their lives, is beneficial.
To assume they are racist, or to try and paint them as racist in hopes of shutting them down is in itself disgusting.
As a former Democrat (Conservative -Democrat), I disagree with President Obama, yet agree with Thomas Sowell on many issues. Neither of which has to do with the tone of their skin, but their ideas for our country.
There is nothing wrong with buying votes, especially when you do it with your opponents money.
god you people are stupid
Anon has an anatomically correct blow up Barry, you can imagine which appendage is used to inflate his Barry. He loves his Barry and services it with zeal.
Like children you fool.
god you people are stupid.
boy, ah said boy, git yer hand out yer pants….
Dick this article seems quite a bit more optimistic on your part, than you were when I saw you last
on one of the Fox evening shows. These numbers are very encouraging, however we must not for-
get that winning is not the answer to conservatives problems, if we don't get the RIGHT candidates
in our local races. We must keep our eye on our local contests to make sure we are vetting these
candidates fully. Not the simplest task given the fact they are sometimes experts at intrigue & sub-
terfuge. Long time incumbents seem to be especially adept at these tactics.
What a great article by Mr. Morris. He's got it right. We cannot assume anything at this point. We have to keep up the good fight, not listen to the main stram media, which is in la la land and follow our hearts and do the right thing. I can't believe that our countries people are so not with it, but as BMartin said, they are everywhere. Ignorance is bliss. I have often said to my co-workers, that it is when it's personel to them, they will care. How do we make the ignorance understand that there is always someone more in need then they are and that they too will have to contribute. Margaret Thatcher said it best. The problem with socialism is that sometime you will run out of other poeple money. People were not voting necessarily for Obama, but rather not voting for a Republican. It could of been anyone from the Republican party. They did not stand a chance.
Wow, anon! Look at you – coming right up out of the basement like mommy's little man.
So tell me, laughing boy, do you have an endearing term for the Black and Hispanic conservatives in the Tea Party?
"That's why we are winning in the polls, people know we care about them and are willing to take from the rich and give to them so that they can prosper as is their right under our system of government."
What polls dude? Did you read what Morris wrote?
Also our Constitution says nothing about our rights to demand money from the rich.
I love what you're doing. Just be sure you use the exact same login (no capitalization) as the actual troll.
But…but..but.. Hussein needs those armed Deathcare troopers to (force) help folks get flu shots, right?
The more important question is, if the Republicans do manage to take control of the House and the Senate, what do they plan to actually do, other than say no to everything the Dems propose?
That is the question all Americans should be asking as the Congressional elections approach.
Morris notes: "Once again, Carville and Greenberg are totally misreading the public mood." No, I don't think the Creature and Greenberg have "totally" misread the public mood. I'm certain they know exactly what that mood is, which is an across-the-board rejection of Obama, Congress and their totalitarian policies. The purpose of their statements is to inculcate despair, resignation and despondency in that part of the public that comprises the electorate, so that Americans won‘t act. What they ARE miscalculating is the effect their statements will have on the electorate — which, to judge by the mood of the public, is nearly nil. They’re like King Canute, telling the tide to stop coming in. Well, it’s coming in — as a tsunami.
I tend to agree with you. It will be a rout.
As a "former", long time Republican, let's remember it was the Bush Admin and their polcies that ultimately put Obama in office. Having said that, I am now convinced we must NEVER have either party control the Senate, House, and White House at the same time as both parties are corrupt..
OK dipstick. Send me your money. I'll make sure the RIGHT people get it.
If the GOP retakes Congress, do you think they'd gave the guts to repeal Obamacare? Not with millions of sheep bleating for their free handout. The GOP abandoned conservatism when Reagan left office and its policy since then has been to disagree with the Democrats on policy but capitulate to them on the issue itself. Their main beef with Obamacare isn't that it's an obscene, socialist power grab that will essentially steal the fruits of one man's labor to buy the vote of another, but that it's "too expensive". When you tell voters they deserve a handout at the expense of another, then give them a choice between a small handout and no hand out, guess what they'll pick? The GOP may make some gains in November, but unless they return to conservative principles (or there's a terrorist attack) they won't hold on to power for very long.
"We gave Bush a Republican Congress"
To paraphrase P.J. O'Rourke, giving a Bush (not a conservative) a Republican, big-government congress was like giving whiskey and the car keys to teenage boys. Conservatism, disillusioned, rested during the McCain debacle…another big-government Republican. Now we have the thugocracy in power. The primary battles are important. Big government incumbents hear the tick, tick tick and are polishing their resumes.
If more government is the answer, it must be a very strange question. REPEAL!
No matter who is in the office, this will take YEARS to correct! Spending needs to be cut drastically!
While I believe the race will be close I'm still convinced the senate and house will remain democrat. Republicans have to shed the idea that they are the party of 'no'. When you are the party of 'no' you have little or no influence on legislation and therefore voters view you as not relevant on the important issues of the day.
I think the GOP will do well, perhaps better than expected. To take control of the Senate and House together will require a seismic shift. 8 months is a long time and depending what happens in the message war between now and then, the economy and other factors will make a difference.
http://www.PoliticalCentrist.com News and views for independent voters
he's creating his own Praetorian Guard. apparently he thinks he's Caesar. scary stuff!!
I agree with the hope and excitement around November, but the primaries are upon us and they are at least as important in the 'safe' gerrymandered Republican districts. Use the primaries to clean out dead wood.
I know it’s easy to picture with this guy or “it!”
"Stanley Greenberg and James Carville claim that the Republican Party has peaked too soon"
Carville. I'm laughing my arse off. We aren't even in the pre-frenzy state yet Jimmy Boy. When the tea party goes "Cajun" with America this is what it will look like.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V74AxCqOTvg
You boyz keep on dreaming. We are a measured mindset. Just because we don't prostitute ourselves Inside The Beltway does not mean we don't know how to play the game. Yes Stanley. If you can rally a bunch of Zombies behind a wet-behind-the-ears lawyer from corrupt Chicago then we certainly can rally hard working productive USA Americans behind the future of their grandchildren.
2010. The Year Of The Outsider.
agreed. what we need to do is get term limits for Congress passed when we get the majority back. that way, they won't be in long enough to become TOO corrupted.
Amen to that Michael! I have a pragmatism that causes me to feel like the Republican have the ability to pull defeat from the jaws of victory, but my gut tells me it will truly be a rout for Republicans in November.
Can't you see that?
anon bobbing up and down, grinning; as the "Omp-pa-ba" German music plays………..
I thought we were trying to throw them all out. Tea party has the work cut out for us.
DNC + RNC = Most corrupt Congress in history.
Work hard now or pay forever.
what about Interpol ?
Very timely reading, Joe. I remember that book had a huge impact on me. Orwell's 1984 is still the scariest book I have ever read.
Let's hope you get your teaching credentials soon. Unless things change drastically it won't be long before any book that challenges socialism/statism will be banned.
I'll be dead or in a concentration camp, cause I'm not wearing mine.
Please remember that once the federal government calls up National Guard troops, they are then under the Posse Comitatus Act like Active duty and reserve military personnel and cannot be armed or participate in law enforcement activities. Believe me, this is drilled into military personnel from the get go and it takes an Act of Congress to override the provisions of Posse Comitatus.
Unfortunately not an option.
The GOP will NOT win the House and the Senate in 2010. The Dems will keep it in their court.
I smell a beatdown coming for the Democrat Socialist Workers Party aka DAZI's.
They won't say no to everything the democrats propose. They will say "hell no" to everything the democrats propose, loud enough so that their majority constituency can hear.
Republicans are the party of hell no. We're proud of it. And that's why the independents are coming to our side. They are saying hell no to. So that "party of no" thing is backfiring. Tell your friends.
Hopefully the growing contempt for government will breed a new politician. This new version of a politician will be a cautious politician. He/she will understand that their electorate is watching them closely. We have the Tea Party movement to thank for that.
There is no way this new politician will come from the Democrat party. They are going the way of the dinosaur. I consider myself an independent who sees the Republican party as our last hope.
Not gonna win anything if this kind of thing keeps up:
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/right-now/2010/0...
and http://voices.washingtonpost.com/right-now/2010/0...
and this phone message to John Lewis is really something, Chris Matthews played it on his show:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/#36201318
"Yes, … calling from (inaudible) I ain't gonna get no health insurance, tell that son of a bitch that, I ain't getting the damned health insurance. That goddamned nigger, don't tell me I gotta get some goddamned health insurance. I ain't paying no goddamned fine. Tell that nigger he can come put my ass in jail if he don't like it. Goddamn worthless nigger, and all them other niggers that voted for him. That nigger Obama and them white trash honkies that voted for that damned communist, socialist stuff. Dumb motherfuckers, Goddamn! I ain't getting the goddamned mandatory health insurance from some bitch motherfuckers! Goddamn bunch of nigger, white trash honkies, son of a bitch communist who voted for this shit. I didn't go fight in no goddamned war so I could be forced to do something I don't want to do. So fuck all y'all niggers. Fuck you John Lewis, you goddamned worthless, communist nigger."
This kind of invective doesn't just spring up out of nowhere. It is high time for leading figures on the right, including Andrew Breitbart, to condemn this sort of thing and stop trying to make the ridiculous claim that the left does it too. It just makes people look stupid and, more importantly, it doesnt work. As matthews points out, it helps no one's cause.
Here is evidence that GOP leaders encourage hate talk and attempts to associate Obama with the Nazis: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/#36202542
This is not the way to win elections, people. Condemn it, or keep losing.
Boy, I was almost dumb enough to fall for their scheme. I mean, I can read polls, I can sort of see where the pulse of public opinion these days is, I can see how unpopular the left is, but then again this is James Carville we're talking about. I'm more apt to accept his opinion over my own, because he is famous. I'm shocked he would try to use that trust against me!
I think Morris is mostly right, but he leaves out a few things. Obama was elected by a much larger margin than Clinton. Steele has some serious issues in the RNC, and unless Barbour, McConnell, and Boehner address those issues the public will perceive the same old garbage coming out of the RNC, the good ol' boy mentality.
Simply put the ground game has changed completely and the pundits and pollsters are still trying to catch up to it and understand it. Our country has a much larger socialist mindset than of the Clinton era, and it is offset by Tea Parties who have had it with the oldsters regardless of what letter is behind their name. People are demanding fresh blood in Congress.
I think Morris is right in some sense but it all hinges on how well the GOP handles their ground game between now and November. They have fumbled the ball on the five yard line before. Dems run candidates who are independent of the party and Obama they stand a shot…here again it is that fresh blood thing. It also a good time for Libertarians.
