FEC Okays SEIU Threats for PAC Contributions
by Don LoosAs the Federal Election Commission (FEC) scans the political landscape scrutinizing tea party activist and most every other citizen who participates in this year’s federal elections, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) got a “a get out of jail free card” to ignore and flout campaign finance regulations. At the FEC, the foxes are apparently already in the henhouse even before President Obama’s politically charged SEIU lawyer John Sullivan (Obama FEC nominee who was involved in Clinton-Teamsters-DNC campaign scandal) arrives to serve as one of six FEC commissioners.
It seems no matter where you these days it is easy to find another rule of law or procedure bent by this government to the benefit of SEIU.
FEC law specifically prohibits threats of financial reprisals in an effort to obtain PAC (Political Action Committee) contributions. Not only does SEIU threaten every local member that their PAC contributions must meet SEIU national Headquarters’ goal; SEIU brazenly made it a part of the union’s constitution.
Under this scheme, SEIU political planners notify each local of its PAC contribution goal. If that PAC goal is not achieved, then the local receives a reduction in its allocation of forced dues money equal to the PAC shortage plus 50%. Looks like threats with financial reprisals.
National Right To Work President Mark Mix Op-Ed in the Washington Examiner, described it this way:
Imagine the outcry if McDonalds executives demanded that each franchise owner collect “voluntary” contributions totaling $25,000 for the company’s Political Action Committee (PAC) from the owner’s employees.
What if the fast food titan’s headquarters followed up with a threat – pay us, or face a $37,500 fine? Do you think this heavy-handed scheme would raise a few eyebrows at the Federal Election Commission (FEC)? [You betcha it would.]
Replace “McDonalds” with “SEIU” in that description and you’ve got a pretty good idea of Big Labor’s latest political fundraising strategy. To meet their ambitious fundraising targets, SEIU bosses are now threatening to fine any local affiliate that doesn’t meet its PAC contribution requirements.
Not only did the FEC ignore FEC rules in dismissing of the NRTW complaint; it hid its reasoning for dismissing the complaint until well past the 60-day deadline, thus prohibiting the National Right To Work Legal Defense Foundation an opportunity to challenge the FEC dismissal in U.S. District Court.
For some, rules do not apply.

No matter. Sullivan's reign will be brief.
Perhaps the FEC will be renamed the TEA-EC.

With the demise of the progressive blue states, ascension of states run by conservatives, and upcoming trouncing the progressives will receive in November, the unions will resume their steady march towards oblivion and bankruptcy. As long as we can get through the lame-duck session without a secret deal or cram through of something like card-check, the union thugs can argue with ACORN over the remaining scraps of the wasted $timulus dollars. Good riddance to something that outlived its usefullness by about 3 decades.

Unions need to go away, Republicans can start on that in 2011, if they take Congress.
First Congress needs to stop funding the Federal Government. Pass a Bill that makes it against the law for Public Employees to belong to a Union, and refuse to fund the Government until the Bill is signed into Law.
Then stop all Federal Contracts going to Private Union Companies.

Replace either McDonals OR SEIU in that description with the "Average American" (or should I include the word "employed") and you've got a pretty good idea of Big Washington's latest fundraising strategy for the Health Care Bill.

We just need to stay vigilant because the Federal Election Commission is pulling fast ones. A conservative candidate in CO received a letter from them telling him he is not allowed contributions from: Plumber, Self-employed/Business Owner; Diesel truck repair shop operator; Self-employed/ Executive, and Self-Employed/Innkeeper. I have no knowledge of FEC rules/laws but those restrictions sound to me to be beyond even the Obama regime's brass.

The SEIU are the equivalent of Hitler's Brown Shirts. They are no longer even subtle.

I disagree. There have been record gun and ammo sales the last 3 years. The libs aren't the ones arming themselves. If they literally get away with murder, it will trigger a response from the conservatives of greater proportion. We outnumber them by a fairly substantial margin.
Next thing you know, they'll be selling 'insurance'.

I am reminded that the FEC refused to investigate OFA fictitious $25 and under bundlers (of which bundling exceeded the allowable amount according to law).
And the MSM refused to cover the story. AND it was big.

We the People of the Tea Party have not become activated only to become pawns of the GOP. Yes, we strongly oppose the policies and agenda of the “progressives” (socialists), but we will no longer tolerate condescension from either party. We will no longer accept the “shut up, we know better than you” attitude from either party. We will no longer tolerate being ignored, or treated like unruly children. We will not sit down and shut up, and we’re not going to go away.
Message to the GOP: No more business as usual. We will no longer be content to accept whatever you offer us. We will choose our own representatives, those who will truly represent OUR interests, rather than those of the party bosses. That is how our representatives were intended to be elected. You can either accept and embrace us, or try to make do without us.

I have seen numerous instances with my own eyes of SEIU goons not only picking fights wiith people but the cops backing them up when the other guy tries to fight back. More proof that the Dems have not only failed to "drain the swamps" as they promised, they have clearly opened the floodgates, greatly expanding the size, depth and population of the rat-infested swamps. By backing conservative candidates with limited political experience (like Christine O'Donnell) over the career politicians that the Republican Party leadership have "selected" to represent them in the primaries, the tea party has demonstrated that politicians of either party who no longer recognize that D.C. has become a cesspool of biblical proportions, are going to be replaced by regular Americans who dont want the whole country to become a swamp. Isnt it amazing how much power we the people still have when we are motivated to action?
