Tea Party to GOP: “Dump Dede” and the RINOs
by Dana Loesch
On Thursday, the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition called on the Republican Party to denounce the New York Republican Congressional Committee’s selection of über liberal Dede Scozzafava and their crusade against Doug Hoffman, bona fide conservative, backed by the Conservative Party. Tea party groups, frustrated after carrying the water for a hibernating party only to be ignored and attacked as “divisive” by certain GOP leaders, have demanded that Republicans “put up or shut up” when it comes to conservative leadership.
On Friday, at noon central, myself and fellow St. Louis Tea Party organizer Bill Hennessy will hold a short press conference announcing the reclamation of the Republican party from those moderates who falsely espouse “big tent” philosophies, but have little actual record of drawing in independents, Democrats, Libertarians, minorities, women, and youth – a record like the tea parties possess. The big tent already exists; the limited scope comes from leaders like Newt Gingrich who persist in the belief that Democrat-lite is the only way to win a race. Conservatism, when presented in full strength at the ballot, wins at the ballot. To suggest otherwise is to discount the millions who’ve taken to the streets since February in this new conservative revolution.
Tea Parties Call on GOP to “Dump Dede”
October 22, 2009
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEWhile the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition endorses values and not candidates, choosing instead to focus on education and action, it is clear that in the NY-23 race for Congress, there is only one candidate that embodies the traditional American values for which the Tea Party movement is fighting. The only acceptable candidate is Doug Hoffman.
Because the Tea Parties are about action, the most powerful action Tea Partiers could take is to donate time or money now to the Doug Hoffman for Congress committee and/or go to the District and volunteer on the campaign.
We are extremely disappointed that the Republican Party (and leaders like Newt Gingrich) has missed the message of the Tea Parties and continues to take conservative voters for granted. We applaud all courageous statesmen (Fred Thompson, Michelle Bachmann, and Dick Armey) and call on other GOP officials to put America’s values over traditional, often corrupt and morally bankrupt, power structures.
Scozzafava is an imposter in this election insofar as she does not fit the values of the district or the center-right country. The honorable move would be for her to remove herself from a race she cannot win. In choosing not to do this, she and her supporters are casting their lot for party loyalty as opposed to loyalty to conservatism or to the prosperity of their country.
Tomorrow, beginning in St. Louis at noon, several tea party cities will publicly demand GOP denunciation of the nomination of Dede Scozzafava and demand support for conservatism. We will call upon all Republicans to either join us or stand against us.
We ask that all Republican officials decide now: do they stand for principle and limited government or are they party loyalists? They or the voters decide, it’s their choice.

Politico aptly notes that this is a test of tea party muscle. Rallies, marches on Washington, protests, et al. are pointless if there is no action to make them mean something. Faith without works is dead just as a movement without works is also dead. It’s time to hijack the GOP away from those who wish to make it a watered-down version of the Democratic party. Just as we told our Democratic elected officials during that long, hot August: “You work for us!” – so also, do those officials in the GOP work for us. Turning their back on your base will afford the GOP the same barn-burning criticism and persecution that the Democrats saw all summer.
We’ve led the way in social media for the GOP since February; we’ve led them in big tent; now it’s time to lead them back to the base.
It’s time for the people to put their feelings of disenfranchisement to action; act now, donate to Hoffman; make your feet hit the pavement in New York’s 23rd District; this is a watershed moment in the conservative movement.
How serious are you in taking it back? Serious enough to stand for action?

I support you all.
Dump Dede, and while you're at it, dump Newt along with her. People are fed up with his opining and pontificating. There is nothing more pitiful than a disgraced political hypocrite, pandering for a microphone or a camera, trying to find footing to legitimize themself.
The only difference between Newt and Jessie Jackson, is color.
An interesting point, about the GOP.
Last election (2008) a friend of mine ran for a State Senate seat. He ran on the Republican ticket. He was not so much a Republican as he was a Conservative. Fanily man, good values, church member, businessman, community leader, and well respected. The State, and County GOP did not do one thing to help him, did not lift a finger or give any support, whether it was financial, or even an "atta-boy". This man financed his entire campaign himself, out of his own pocket, and through friends and family. It was costly.
Now, a year later, I hear the real reason why the GOP did not support him. The local GOP felt that if his Democrat opponet had to have the local Unions, the Seiu etc. focusing their attention on that race, it would pull their focus and money away from other races. In other words, the GOP used this good man for their tool, to further their agenda, and win other races in the state. It was a stupid strategy to say the least. Every Republican was trounced last election cycle. Personally, I feel we not only need a new slate o candidates, we need a new slate of party officials. This is not about Party. It is about values…………
I'm a registered Republican in South Carolina, and I want the RNC to start backing candidates with conservative values. I'm hoping next time Lindsey Graham comes up for election, there will be a more conservative candidate running for his Senate seat.
I'm pushing for Hoffman in NY-23, but he needs to become familiar with the local issues. His biggest drawback is his lack of knowledge on the local politics. Dede's advantage is that she is known and liked on a personal level. I would rather see Owens (D) win than Dede, but I think Hoffman needs to become more intimate with the voters of the district so that they can see his campaign is about the issues, not about attacking Dede. Small town politics cannot be like a blood feud. Since she's already trashed herself, Hoffman now needs to not grind her into the dirt, just concentrate on the issues in a positive way. Otherwise, he will alienate a lot of the people who would vote for Dede just because they know and like her as a person. If that happens, of course, Owens will win.
Well done Dana.
I agree completely, I sent a small donation ot hoffman this morning. Newt should shut up, I completely lost my respect for him when he did the global warming commercial with Pelosi. He is now a creature of the beltway!!!!!
Great job. Everyone is wondering what do we do next? How do we stop the Republican party from putting RINOs in. We don't want RINOs, we want people with principles.
You've answered that call!

We have to stand united. The DNC loves this idea of division. They have a better chance of winning especially SIEUand Acorn behind doing all the dirty work for them.
Dana is right and this is why the democrtic party will never get it ….. the left does not understand we will throw any GOP member undr the bus unless they change their tax and spend ways…. We will take the GOP back to the way it was ment to be or we will not come back … plain and simple… Can ya hear us now Lindsay Graham ???
We're not a bunch of white angry men but a bunch of True Americans who believe in how and why this country was founded…
This new york race is the kicker…. we need to back the Independant and show that we mean business…
This race will have a major impact on the 2010 cycle. If Hoffman shows up strong, the GOP will not be able to ignore the conservatives. The party is sliding into the big government pit and it must be stopped. A vote for Dede is a vote to bring the party the way of Schwarzenegger, McCain, Snowe, and Graham.
I wonder if they will hear us now…..New york is our "Bull Moose" moment. This Tea Party movement with so much depth, deep pockets and without a clear central leadership is ready to be embraced, pulled into the GOP whole cloth. We are putting a seat at risk in NewYork not because we want power but becuase "We The People" are the power. GOP come home to us or we will surgically alter you one Rhino at a time. We are not astro turf, we are not one mind, we move together when we see we must. We are business, we are labor, we are straight, we are gay we are America. We are everywhere, we are waiting, we are the power.
yes i too gave to mr.hoffmans coffers and am praying he wins id like to ask everyone to give to toomy in pa where i liv eto get rid of specter everyone have a great weekend
I agree with this article except for a small point. Tea parties aren't really bastions of conservatism. I think the single thread that unites all tea partiers is FISCAL conservatism. If the GOP would actually adhere to the concept of fiscal conservatism their tent would expand. They can't just flap their gums about spending; they must actually DO something about spending.
I'm wondering if the Republican party is just too far gone to save. We need the Tea Party, fiscally conservative with some libertarian leanings. The tea parties have already proven that this party would work. I hope something happens soon because I can't stand any of the candidates (other than Palin, and I don't think she'd have a chance) who may be on the ticket. Where's our George Washington?
Dana Loesch for Tea Party National Chair!
O/T but I'm still astonished that Murtha was reelected after he blatantly insulted his constituents!
Go Hoffman!
NO MORE STINKING RINOS!

The Anti Liberal Zone
STAY ENGAGED Conservatives!
I couldn't agree more about Newt. His time is over and he can not win 2012. Neither can Huckabee, Romney etc.etc. WE NEED NEW BLOOD !
Good job Dana, bellwether Missourians should be at the forefront of the Tea Party movement, with Hoft and so many others doing such a good job here in the state. We have to shed the RINOs, tip our hats to Cantor and their ilk as we speed by them, beseeching them to join us. Replace Kit Bond with Roy Blunt, before Kit drinks any more koolaid. Put Claire on notice and try to get Ike Skelton to remember Scoop Jackson.
There are some real kooks lurking around the edges of the Tea Party movement, we have to be cognizant of them an get them marginalized quickly, before they become fodder for the MSM.
Vote them ALL out. Start at the local level and work from there. Make your voices heard NOW. If we can't find new real people than we don't stand a chance in 2010 or 2012.
Honestly, I think we should consider that the Hoffman phenomenon burst up like a healthy weed among the grassroots–very much unexptected. I love it and have donated to him, pray and have high hopes.
On the other hand, a third party candidate got us Bill Clinton.
The GOP needs to understand that an overwhelming majority of Americans will not tolerate any more political games. It's time for the will of the people to be implemented in Washington. This means that we will support issues above personality or party. We will no longer be ignored.
Candidates for office also need to understand that when we the people demand that the federal budget be balanced, you had better start to reduce spending and cut waste and inefficiency right now. When we say we want a common sense solution to health care reform, you'd better start drafting legislation to allow the free market to work instead of imposing a massively expensive government program. When we say we want more and better paying jobs for ourselves and our children, you'd better start reducing taxes and rolling back unecessesary regulation immediately.
The era of politics as usual in Washington is about to end. We the people are taking back control of our government, our country and our lives.
The RNC waterboys keep telling us that we just have to live with the best of the worst.
Enough already, the RNC has a historic opportunity to clean house, if they miss it they will planting the seeds of their own destruction regardless of any pickups they might make in 2010 because of the increasing displeasure and trust of B-Daddy.
One more cycle of corrupt practices from either the DNC or the RNC and they are both done. Personally I would just like to re-capture the RNC and use it for it's intended purpososes, promoting liberty vs. the facist tyranny of the left.
I was in the military in 1979 and I remember the RNC waterboys of the time making the same proclamations about Regan.
Again, we need to CLEAN house, if Olimpdic Snowed and her kind want to work for a facist then let them transfer to the left, I want no part in any of this corrupt back room deal making america raping nonesense anymore.
Flood the blogs/newspapers in the area … We cannot vote but we can get the word out … we have the power!!!
The Tea Party is bigger than the GOP. It includes ex dems, independents and conservatives. The GOP will have to adapt or become nonexistent, they're day is over. Jack Shaws
When are they going to figure it out…it's not an R or a D….it's a conservative.
Yes, the same here in my state. You are correct when you say we need new GOP party leaders because I think 75% of them are RINOs. The infiltration of RINOs started a long time ago and this is a huge problem, especially in the so-called blue states. It's hard to tell if the insect is a lady bug or a pretty blood sucking tick.
Wasn't Murtha the one on the acorn spoof saying "I needed 50 000 votes to get elected! Thank you ACORN"?
Great post! And it is time to take action, thank you for sounding the bugle.
I agree with Elvis above. Use the local papers at your disposal to educate your county. Obviously the MSM will kill all our efforts, including the left media on the internet so the old fashion "written word" is still a viable tool.
If you go here: http://newsfifty.com/ click on your state and you will see all the newspapers.
Perot did not get us Clinton, Bush Sr. did. The charge that Perot is responsible for Clinton's election is being made by the Newts of the party. If the Republicans put up candidates that actually appealed to the base then Perot wouldn't have mattered. You might as well say that the Green Party got us Bush Jr.
The Tea Party?
The Tea Party is the new Big Tent.
Forget about Republi-CONS and DIM-ocrats. This about VALUES.
Every citizen, should talk to his or her fellow citizens, forget about party lines and crossing the aisle of bi-partisanship. Before one can cross the aisle, one must first cross the street and shake hands with their neighbor. The Tea Party movement needs to include any citizen, of every cultural, racial, ehtnic and socio-economic background. This about America, about saving America. It is about pulling America back from the brink of the abyss.
In that regard, Barrack Obama just might be the best thing that has EVER happened for America. He has galvanized US and alerted US, made US aware of what "they" were attempting to do. Subvert and circumvent the Constitution.
I know how that works personally. I ran for a State Asssembly seat as a Republican, against an incumbent Democrat. Neither the local county party or the state party did anything for me. I was (and am) a Conservative and the local party Executive Committee was filled with old, blueblood, country clubbers. I was too radical for them, with my harsh opinions about guns, abortion, limiting spending, etc. Needless to say, the Democrat kept his seat as I ran plumb out of money.
I have a real nasty opinion about RINOs.

You could be right, I just wish we could have learned the lesson before the communist/socialist/statist/"progressives" became entrenched in government with a fillibuster proof Senate and House. These clowns were elected because people have been ignorant of the values of the politicians that were "giving" them something.
Latest polling from NY-23: Dem 35%, Dede 30%, Right-wing crazy 23%.
Last week's poll: Dem 33%, Dede 29%, Right-wing crazy 23%.
Not enough right-wing crazy voters in NY-23. Perhaps Gidget Palin's endorsement will turn things around. Otherwise, turn out the lights, the party's over.
I live in Oklahoma. Born and raised GOP (my mom was a Goldwater Girl!) I've never been overly active politically. Until now. Now I've donated to Hoffman and written Gingrich. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF VOTING FOR LOTES. This situation looks like a golden opportunity to get the ID10Ts in the GOP to wake up and see that we will not tolerate these progressive RINO's anymore. GO HOFFMAN!!!
Interesting video for the Tea Partiers.
It is number two, in a series of fourteen. I would reccomend everyone take the time to view them all. Knowledge is power. Arm yourself.

You go girl! Couldn't agree more. Behind you 100%. DEDE should step down and let the Conservative Candidate win. To do so would prove that she has put principle over politics. She can't win but she can help defeat the Democrat opponent–whom almost 60% are voting against–by stepping aside.
VERY WELL SAID!!!
The polls are obviously biased. Come back after Hoffman wins this and tell us about the polls.

Just made my $9.12 donation to Doug Hoffman….
Come on guys $9.12 won't break anyone's bank …. but the 9-12 number will
dave they won;t … this is what I love on the left too…. They make fun of the gop and republicians but they don't get it.. The Tea Parties are about the people not the Ror D… The D's will stand behind whatever D they have.
I was an R but now I am an Americian (A)…
Send Palin up there next week
Can you imagine him talking about how many $9.12 donations he has received from all over America ?? Come on !!!!
My impression of you ( based on your postings) is you should consider running for office, you'd have my vote!
Fantastic idea! Will do right now….
I started using the term “Democrat-Lite” in early 2007. Now I don’t know if that’s where it got started but I do blog…a lot and would like to think so. Irregardless I’m so happy that this term is getting around because I think it sums up in a nutshell what Republicans like Gingrich and McCain are. We have to ignore them and push onward. I remember 1980 and Reagan. I remember when we were told back then that a true conservative couldn’t win elections. It’s time to get rid of ANYONE and I mean ANYONE who isn’t a true conservative from the Republican Party. If they want to be Dem-Lite then they can go over to the Dem party. I’m not advocating shutting out minorities, gays, women, etc..just those who do not believe in the party platform. This will be tough as many states have Repub incumbents and are afraid to upset the apple cart but we’ve got to get back to the point where a R after someone’s name means they’re different from those with D’s after theirs. We’re in for a fight but I think if we can give voters a true choice they will choose the conservative candidate in the majority of this country. We will never get the left coast or the Hollywood types but that sure does leave a whole lot of territory to claim.
Stillhopeful,
Thank you, I am flattered.
But no, I am not interested I would not lower myself to "their" level.
Sent Newt an email advising that the 9-12 March on D.C. wasn't all about electing more Rhinos.
Sent the RNC form back to the RNC (courtesy of their prepaid postagae envelope) with thoughtful comments hand-written in Sharpie across the face of their form — hope it gives them a clue.
Sent $50 contribution to the conservative to help Dede lose the 23rd in New York, even though Dede appears quite capable of losing all on her lonesome. But the real goal here is to help the conservative WIN the election.
Making plans to attend Tea Party Express II rallies as the Express passes through.
Now, how about another D.C. March to see if there is anyone there who is listening NOW, or even really cares?
Spread the word !!!!

The state of Maine has the two biggest RINOs, Susan Collins and Olympia Snow, the latter is also voted the ugliest in the Senate and Susan a close second.
I am out of state and I donated funds to Doug Hoffman. I will do this for every race I find out about………. This is a Call to Arms for Conservatives.
Darn, wish I'd thought of that, I could have saved 15.88…. oh well, guess I'll have to give again just to make the point. EXCELLENT idea!
Please don't count the Red County of Orange County, California as part of the left coast, we are fighting the good fight out here!
For what it's worth, I re-registered yesterday as an Independent after 29 years as a Republican. But in reality, I didn't leave the Republican Party. The Republican Party left me.
That's not nice. Their appearance has nothing to do with it.
A Huckabee or Romney presidential candidacy, in 2012, is a sure way to ensure Obama's re-election; something most people in America will not want .
Newtie lost any standing he light have had, for GOP/Conservative voters, during the second term of Clinton's presidency. Though claiming to bve a "conservative", strapping on those Clinton kneepads, ruined Newt's image forever and since then, he's done worse. Who can forget him touring America, shilling for HillaryCare or his other tour, with Nancy
elosi, spewing garbage about the "greening" of this nation?
Just shut up and fade away, Newtie !
The Marxist puppet-boy, Howdy Doody Obama is in Ct. tonight, trying to help Chris, THE CORRUPT ONE, Dodd. That's not going to work out all that well for either of them ! There just aren't enough left wing crazies in Ct,, to re=elect dirty Dodd.
Lots of us are sending back those really stupid, money wasting "surveys" back to the RNC with the truth written across them and no donations. We're a growing club, which they need to pay more attention to.
The only way to make sure that our donations go to candidates we really support, is to stop donating to the RNC and instead, send our money to the candidates we like.
I guess the left-wing crazies and the right-wing crazies cancel each other out. Which may not be such a bad thing.
The NJ Republican Party did the same thing to Steve Lonegan in the Gubernatorial primary in favour of Chris Christie. Now here we are with less than two weeks till election day, with a head to head race with Corzine v. Christie and I don't know a single Tea Party or 9.12 member that wants vote for this Republican. At the end of our election day, the results might end up with Lonegan having 30,000 or more write ins and the Republicans losing to the Democrats with the same margin of votes.
This time, perhaps; but not usually/always.
I can't believe the Newtster… Get with the program Newt… Wake up!!
I supported Hoffman with my wallet and plan on doing so with every like candidate and group. We have no choice. Small investment to stop this madness.
Don't forget to contact your congressman and senators and call them out when they screw up… on every single issue. And give them a pat on the back when they do good — they love it — and appreciate it. Some of them are very life-like!
GOOD 20+ club = 20+ contacts to congressman and/or senators of your choice from now until 2010.
BETTER 50+ club = 50+ contacts
HONOR ROLL 100+ club =100+ contacts
How now Mao??
The left has no problem pushing their leftist agenda. Why shouldn’t conservatives push the conservative agenda?
Dana:
Consider runnning for the congressional seat now occupied by RINO JoAnn Emerson in Missouri. She is alot like Dede, no core values and willing to shift like the wind to bow down to the republican leadership. I would support your run and efforts.
The left has no problem pushing their leftist agenda. Why shouldn’t conservatives push the conservative agenda?
BTW I love your blog!
I can't look at Newt since he sat on the couch with Pelosi in the Global Warming commercial on t.v. Dump Newt and DEDE!
I am a conservative and the reason we lose are the Dem-lites. During the presidential election when Obama was criticized on global warming, Cap and trade, healthcare, etc. Obama would say McCain supports these items too (of course less radical versions). McCain helped immunize Obama, I felt sorry for Palin having to support McCain’s idiot positions on these and other issues.
I will not give any $$$ to the RNC establishment (despite the constant mailings), but only to candidates that I actually support. I will not give any money to any Republican organization that might give money to the likes of Snow or Lindsey Graham. I did sent some $$ to Hoffman.
Hoffman places too much emphasis on unimportant issues on which he is wrong. For example his hatred of gays. To pull independents like me you need someone who is going to put the reduction of the size of government first. You can't do that while focusing on hatred of gays and intrusions into other peoples bedrooms.
I didn't leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party left me! Glad to see the Conservatives starting to take back the party of Reagan from the East Coast Lib RINOs led by Lindsey Grammnesty and Newt. Not sure what happened to Newt, must be something in the water.
Which is more important, winning elections, or getting your way!
That's what the GOP told us when they went all out for Jim Jeffords.
It's not the time to stand on principle, we need to win the general elections with Republicans!
That's what the GOP told us with Arlen Spectre!
So how did those work out?
NO, we're not going to win for winnings sake anymore. We want to win for a purpose, we want to win to accomplish something, not simply caretaking the Democrat Agenda until they can regain power and Advance it once again.
It is time to say NO MORE to the GOP and let them know they cannot depend on conservatives to be Reasonable and elect Discount Democrats anymore.

The Kansas-Nebraska act lead to the founding of the Republican party. It was a mess but the new party got rid of slavery.
Does Bushes spending and Obama's hyper spending equal a Kansas-Nebraska act moment?
We can have a balanced budget, we can be energy independent, we can get the government out of our lives but the Dems and Reps aren't going to do it.
(GTP) Grand Tea Party!!! We need a Mascot??
The participants of TEA parties across the nation want one thing (in common): Candidates who will honor the Values and Principles that founded this country.
If a candidate can't, the we won't (vote)!
Thanks for backing Doug Hoffman. We need to get ready to do the same thing in Republican primaries in 2010 so that we aren’t left with such choices at general election time.
