Hypocrites Bash Arizona Law
by David A. KeeneMexican President Felipe Calderon asked for it when he attacked Arizona’s new immigration law as a “violation of human rights.”

Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl (R) and others responded to Calderon’s attacks by pointing out the hypocrisy. Anyone who has compared Mexico’s laws on immigration with ours would dismiss ours as simply weak-kneed.
The Washington Times and other publications reported over the weekend that entering Mexico illegally is a felony carrying a two-year prison sentence. If one can survive a term in a Mexican prison, expulsion is next. If caught trying to re-enter, one can get yet another 10 years, and anyone caught with an expired visa can get six years.
Whether these penalties have prevented a flood of illegal immigrants from the north or whether they just seem to be working because no one really wants to break in to Mexico is a question for another day.
It is also a felony to assist an illegal in Mexico, and woe unto anyone who hires one. Even those entering the country legally can be sent home if Mexican authorities determine that they, for example, “lack the necessary funds for their sustenance.”
What The Washington Times didn’t point out is that under Mexican law, every citizen is, in effect, deputized to ferret out, rat out and even make a citizen’s arrest of any folks they think should be checked out as possibly “illegal.” Whether or not citizens can base such suspicions on appearance or color is not clear, but one might reasonably conclude most of those questioned differ in some physical respect from your average Mexican.
The bottom line is that if Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer “violated” human rights by signing her state’s new immigration law, Calderon ought to be hauled before the International Criminal Court for the policies he oversees.
Of course, Arizona faces a different problem from Mexico. Nearly half a million illegals have streamed into the state, and more are coming every day. Many of them are hardworking and otherwise law-abiding men and women who, had they entered legally, would no doubt have been welcomed with open arms by a state that is itself almost 30 percent Hispanic. Among them, however, are thousands of gangsters, drug dealers and gang members who are making life along the state’s southern border a dangerous living hell for her citizens.
Arizonans have been pleading and demanding that Washington do something about the problem for years — a futile enterprise, it turns out, both because of the partisan wrangling over comprehensive immigration reform and because most lawmakers and commentators aren’t much concerned with conditions they don’t experience on a day-to-day basis. Finally the state decided to act by authorizing state and local law enforcement officers under certain circumstances to ascertain the immigration status of someone they’ve stopped for other reasons.
The new law does not do what its critics claim, which is to authorize cops to wander the streets of Arizona demanding anyone who looks Hispanic to “produce their papers.” And Mr. Calderon is not the only president who has unfairly mischaracterized or hypocritically attacked it.
Last week, President Barack Obama and his Democratic allies unashamedly did what they charged Republicans had done during the healthcare debate. They attacked Arizona’s attempt to deal with illegal immigration before reading the legislation they opposed or consciously mischaracterizing what it does.
In fact, the Arizona law prohibits checking the status of crime victims and witnesses so as to avoid creating an atmosphere in which they won’t feel comfortable coming forward, and imposes greater restrictions on state and local law enforcement officers than required under existing Supreme Court rulings.
The administration’s response has not been reasoned or reasonable. Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano has said the feds may refuse to handle cases arising under the new law; Attorney General Eric Holder wants to challenge it in court; and the president seems to hope he can use it to inflame Hispanic voters around the country to his party’s benefit. This is apparently what passes for responsible leadership in today’s Washington.
The Arizona bill is far, far from perfect and won’t solve all of that state’s problems, but it is a mistake to criticize Gov. Brewer or the State Legislature for trying to come to grips with a problem those presumably responsible for securing our borders and developing a rational immigration policy have ignored.

The Obama administration won't get this illegal immigration problem corrected, healthcare, cap & trade, Goldman & Sachs (6 of them in the White House now) and taking his sweet ole' time on Katrina II.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q03fdDQAUY
The United States ought to treat Mexico the same as they treat us as immigrants and everyone of these liberal whine-o's would then be singing a different tune to this illegal immigration thing and here is why:

Mexico has many problems
It is a corrupt oligarchy.
President Calderon is losing to the Drug Cartels because he is fighting what is essentially a war like a police action.
Illegal immigration acts as a relief valve by allowing Mexico to export their underclass to the U.S..
If the U.S. actually controls its southern border Mexico will have to deal with their underclass and inherent problems in addition to fighting the Crime Gangs and that may be too much.
Waiting for California to slide into the ocean, so I can buy some ocean front property in Arizona.
You're exactly right — and all that really galls me when hispanics accuse the US of being unfair. UNFAIR???
also:
Must specifically provide proof of health, proof not criminal, proof of money and assets and/or proof of income.
Moreover, Mexico is one of the worst violators of human rights against immigrants in the Western hemisphere.
.
Secure the borders now, and stop illegals from taking our rationed health care now that's it's gotten personal. They're taking away my civil right to live.
Arizona's law is 100% correct and here is another video for your viewing. Please cut/paste and get it around if possible:

Boycott Mexico. No more "Henche En Mexico". Any beer that needs a wedge of fruit in it needs a fruit to drink it. It was really meant to keep the flies out of the beer. Make your next vacation in Arizona. Voice your opinions to "Los Suns" ( shouldn't it be Los Sols?)http://www.nba.com/suns/contact/contact_us.html.

So, Felipe, it's a "human right" to invade another country? You oppose Central America's invasion of Mexico's southern border? Speak up, Felipe, we can't hear you.
That's because it's militarized.
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama said Wednesday he wants to begin work this year on legislation overhauling the nation's immigration system, firming up his commitment on a key priority for Latino voters and lawmakers.
Obama's comments at a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the White House reaffirmed his long-held support for immigration reform. He went a step further than he has in the past by calling for the work to begin this year.
Latino groups have been calling for Obama to deliver on his campaign promise of making immigration reform a top priority, with some activists and lawmakers in the Congressional Hispanic Caucus complaining he wasn't doing enough.
Obama clouded the issue last week by saying "there may not be an appetite" in Congress to deal with another hot-button issue immediately after grueling fights over health care and financial regulation.
There also may not be enough time left on the legislative calendar to take up a contentious issue with midterm elections looming in November, but by making the commitment Obama may at least be able to tell Hispanic groups he tried.
But he said it was the only way to deal with the nation's immigration problems.
"I want to begin work this year and I want Democrats and Republicans to work with me."
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., who's up for re-election in a state with a growing Latino population, also recently said he wants to tackle immigration overhaul this year, although pending energy legislation — another divisive issue — would likely come first.
Reid last week released draft immigration legislation with Sens. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Robert Menendez, D-N.J., that calls for more federal enforcement agents and other border security-tightening benchmarks before illegal immigrants could become legal U.S. residents.
Obama praised that proposal Wednesday. But the one Republican who's been willing to work with Democrats on the issue recently, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, has balked at moving ahead this year.
The focus is on the Senate because House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has made clear that the Senate must act first on the immigration issue before she would force her Democrats into another tough vote.
Again Wednesday, Obama denounced the law passed in Arizona that requires police to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they're in the country illegally. Some fear the law could lead to racial profiling, and Obama said federal officials were monitoring it for possible civil rights violations.
The president cited the Arizona law as a reason for action on immigration legislation.
"Make no mistake, our immigration system is broken, and after so many years in which Washington has failed to meet its responsibilities, Americans are right to be frustrated. … But the answer isn't to undermine fundamental principles that define us as a nation " Obama said.
"Comprehensive reform — that's how we're going to solve this problem," he said.
Isn't this guy the least bit ashamed that his people are making a mass exodus out of Mexico? No, he'd rather encourage sponging than have to strengthen his own nation. Sickening how he ignores the plight of his own people!
cnntinued…
Its not about seeing a Mexican on the street and just stopping them–there has to be some OTHER compelling evidence or reason to suspect he could be here legally. People keep ignoring this. I am sure police would be careful about how they went about htis too, since people would be just chopming at the bit to file civil rights viotionasd suits against teh state. So I dont think it would be abused. There are legitimate reasons to supspect people when hyou combine it with the fact that they are obviouslt from anther country. Its not a racist law at all–I was His FRIEND and my reaction was–hey how come the police havent caught on to you??" and that was not out of my wanting him to get causht (althou I told him repeatedly he should go home cus he would never be able to live withou looking over his should which is not a happy way to live)
What ought to be happening here is that Hillary Clinton ought to be making an international stink over Calderon's intrusion.
It is expressly forbidden under the terms of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations for a foreign power to interfere in the internal affairs of the State.
A sure bet someone in the Mexican press won't be asking El Presidente Maximo why his subjects want to leave home for the States. He'd probably be invited to go for a little ride with Filipe's personal bodyguards. Oh, btw, we just changed our cruise plans from Mexico to the Bahamas and the Carribean. SI SE PUEDE, Senor Calderon!
I've heard some supervisor's in the construction trades call it monkey see monkey do method for building houses…they all be crumbling in about 20 years….
and all we want done is to humanely send them back whence they came…
Oy. Hadn't heard about the GPS. Here's the links, although it looks like the Mex. Gov. stopped their participation in the publications.

When my friends and I would go down to Rosarito and Ensenada we'd get shaken down for cash by the federalis. Fortunately one of our friends was Mexican and would do all the talking getting us out of the situation each time for about $40.
Put aside all the people coming over here to find work. We now have people coming over the border and shooting our law enforcement officials on our soil. That's not "immigration". That's an INVASION. If only there were some branch of our military charged with guarding our nation. We could call them the "National Guard"!
oh that would be to pretentious of me to think I could light a fire under my people.
Your knowledge of the Mexican situation is heartwarming there cornpone.
Why in God's name would we want to "trow" shit at our neighbor there keokee,….???????
and please do not leave us "idiotas" hanging,….. please tell us the "facts",……….
so we can, if that is indeed the case, ,…."stop talking stupideses"
And if you or I sneak into Mexico, we get 2 years in prison and a deportation. If we do it twice, we get 10 years and deportation! Calderon thinks his sh!t doesn't stink!
According to Cinco De Mayo celebration, it is to celebrate the mexicans taking back thier land from the French invasion. They fought a war and won. In America we are being taken over by border crossing from Mexico. I ask you why are Americans not allowed to fight back like the Mexicans did to the French. We are America and we are not allowed to stand up with pride and declare our greatness, because the Mexicans say it offends them. They bring thier culture to our streets and tell us to honor thier fight for independence from France. Huh. We in honor of them should stand up and fight to keep America from Mexico taking over our land. Illegal entry is an act of illegal activity. Is not this thought to be an act of defense of illegal activity. They do so as said in this article, defend thier borders to the letter of the law. We should honor thier duty to law and enforce our own border.
Love the Tom Bodette part.
I can be a bit fiesty, so every now and then I toss in a soft touch.
Waiting for San Francisco to boycott all of Mexico…
Calderon is a worm. Below are excerpts from Mexico's immigration policy………
* immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;
* foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;
* foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics;
* foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;
* foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;
* those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.
* Foreigners are admitted into Mexico "according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress." (Article 32)
* Immigration officials must "ensure" that "immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents. (Article 34)
* Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets "the equilibrium of the national demographics," when foreigners are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when "they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy." (Article 37)
* The Secretary of Governance may "suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest." (Article 38)

Calderon is the skid mark in the toilet Mexico has become.
A few years ago I went fishing in Mexico with a group of business associates. Before we reached our destination we went through four checkpoints. At each stop we had to "show our papers" while young men in uniform pointed machine guns in our direction and others rifled through all of our belongings. After the van driver paid them their bribes we were allowed to go on our way. Since that time I have never had a desire to go back to that cesspool of a country. What would Calderon and our so-called media have to say if we treated foreign citizens in this manner while they were here on vacation?
They don't have too, you taking you life if you go there. You think Mexico would praise Arizona's law because they will catch drug criminals, doing the job that Mexico won't do!
You're exactly right — and all that really galls me when hispanics accuse the US of being unfair. UNFAIR???

.
I suggest we adopt their immigration laws.
Being a citizen in Mexico is no picnic if you are not rich, being an illegal is about as close to hell as you come, you are more or less at the whim of your masters and I use that term correctly.
This whole thing is disgusting, I guess we are going to have to elect a woman to get somone with a "set" into the white house, Obamas have gone missing in action since day one.
>>Mexican President Felipe Calderon asked for it when he attacked Arizona’s new immigration law as a “violation of human rights.”
Right …. Mexico is the standard for human rights, sure it is.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon needs to clean his own backside before sniffing ours. Of course there could be a coupe there anytime. Living next door to a military state will be so much fun with a flipping wide open border and Tom Bodette saying over the loudspeakers "We'll even leave the light on for ya!"
Maybe we dig a trench between the Gulf and the Pacific, right on the border and funnel this oil spill to it. Ignite!
Calderone – variant of Cauldron………fitting!
"I guess we are going to have to elect a woman to get someone with a "set" into the white house"
I have a suggestion…………………………….

I'm under the weather today, and in a vile mood. I'll feel better when my nestmate gets home.
No, being a citizen in Mexico is no picnic, but that does not excuse them outsourcing their problems to the US. Maybe it's the Mexican people who need to grow a set and stick up for themselves.

it may ge too much–well then they will start fighting the war like its war and not a police action. As well, the Catholic churhc in America serves as a safe haven for illegals. They happitly pat them on the back and encourage them. They open thet coffers of their charities–Catholic Chariites, St Vincent De Paul Society to help them–so my suggestion is the Vatican sell off some artwork and give the proceeds to the Catholic Chruch in Mexico and allow them to minster to the poor IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY so they dont come here
They do not want them caught! The Drug Monies and US Drug War BUCKS and the Remittences are close to 80% of the economy there! The do nothing to develop skills or training for jobs. The people stand with a hand out waiting to cross the border to do the same thing here.
Puts the pollution from the oil spill in the Gulf into perspective. There's no detritus quite like Californian detritus.
Thanks for sharing! Always does a spot on job!
all the aziona illegals and are going to come here to So Calif—-gee thanks Mayor Villaragoisa for the invitaion by declaring a boycott of Arizona. Obviously you are not a low income US CITIZEN that really needs that job at a gas station, or at macdonalds, or in a tire repair place,–and you dont need some help from the local food bank to get by in a pinch–if you did you might see with your own eyes that these jobs and these chartiable resources are being taken/ used by illegals. Our own lower income folks have to compete for these resources and jobs –but not YOU–so invite away!!!
Well, I hope ya get ta feelin' better, but I'm gonna miss the one liners.
To paraphrase Glenn Beck, it's not a "human" right to be a citizen of the United States. Otherwise, it would be a free-for-all on all the borders and heaven knows that if any nation wants to maintain its national identity, it has to have defined and protected borders.

Arizona should mirror the Mexican law and call it the "just desserts" law.
USA to Felipe…..KEEP YOUR CITIZENS ON YOUR SIDE OF THE BORDER!! Thank you. That is all.
"We will not tolerate foreign forces dictating and enacting laws on Mexicans," said former Mexico President Zedillo in a speech Thursday. (April 4, 1997)
Also in 1997 Zedillo, told Mexican nationals in Chicago, "I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an important–a very important–part of this."
Mexico's President Fox called for the border to be “a joining line.” He demanded free healthcare, taxpayer-subsidized in-state tuition for illegals at state colleges and universities, guest worker programs and amnesty for all Mexican citizens illegally in this country.
Mexican American Legal Defense Fund founder Mario Obledo, California Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare under Gov. Jerry Brown, stated, “California is going to be a Hispanic state. Anyone who doesn't like it should leave. Every constitutional office in California is going to be held by Hispanics in the next 20 years. People who don't like it should go back to Europe.”
" Latinos have a superior work ethic to liberals,"
Is that why half of them are on government assistance? The great Latino work ethic, just like Latino family values,is a left-wing media fabrication.
Add to Mexico's hypocrisy: Prevent people from South America, Central America, and Cuba from trying to access the US through Mexico. You know that Mexico wants to keep its cash cow–the US–all it itself. Hypocrisy indeed.
Exactly! If Mexico were acting as any responsible nation would, they would be apologizing for the crimes perpetrated upon us, helping deter the trespassers and helping us round up their criminals. Instead they are handing out maps and instructions on how to break in.
Who cares what Mexico thinks? Mexico – home of the donkey show.
Be careful, you might trample on someones "human rights"!
Yeah, never hear about Mexicos southern border wall…..
I don't really care what FeCal has to say.
The evil Obama loving liberals like the idea of people thinking about the redistribution of wealth…taking from the rich and giving to the poor, irregardless the poor haven't yet reached the stature level of the rich (they just need more time). But what is often overlooked is the redistribution of Constitutional Rights! The evil Obama loving type liberals want to take the Constitutional Rights of American Citizens and redistribute those rights and give them to illegal immigrants and muslim terrorist! They want to weaken the American Citizen and strengthen the non-citizen including those who want to kill you!

The Arizona law is not bad. I had a Mexican friend who I later learned was here illegally. He got stopped for minor moving violations –(to his credit he was insured and had registration) but on top of the moving violations he had no Drivers liscence–so he got ticketed for that too. When he told me about this about 1 1/2 years ago, I said "gosh arent you scared of getting deported?" becasue I thought they would think somehting was up, but he said they never ask anything about that. He went to court, got fined and paid the fines. Then it happened a second and then a thrid time–no liscence. I was sure he'd get asked about his status after 3 times and get deported, but he was not afraid at all,–he went to court, got fined $600.00 and paid it. (continued….)
Mexicans,……..when are you going to take hold of your nationalism / patriotism and pride,………..
and realize that the solution to your misery is a result of your unwillingness to address
the shortcomings of your incompetent society.
Stop the jumping of the fence to keep from having to face your responsibilities.
…continuing….
Now if I was a cop and I had stopped someone and it turned out they had been cited for no liscence once before and STILL had no liscense–that to me would be a red flag when I combined it with the fact that he was a Latino. In that situtaion it would make sense to conclude he might have no liscence becasue he can not get a liscense legally and therefore combined with his latino-ness ask him "are you here legally?–please show me your papers"– That wouldnt be racist–and I beleive this is waht the law is trying to address. ( continued)
Sorry for all the typos above–
and would this website PLEASE not force us to break up posts into 3 parts–especially if you are not goiing to provide a character counter so we dont have to guess where to break the posts up
What ought to be happening here is that Hillary Clinton ought to be making an international stink over Calderon's intrusion.
It is expressly forbidden under the terms of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations for a foreign power to interfere in the internal affairs of the State.
LMAO……..Us Texans have already got our trench dug, it's called the Rio Grand River,………………
problem is MX is diverting water so that we don't get enough for a mud swallow to build a nest.
i agree Calista we need to vote for strong woman like Sarah p Michelle B and the AZ gov cause todays republican man have all been castrated
Who hands out those maps in MX, is it the Gvt? I hears they're now giving out or selling cheap GPS
devices, but no mention of who is paying for them.
Dear President Obama:
I’m planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me.
We’re planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. Into Mexico, and we’ll need your help to make a few arrangements.
We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws.
I’m sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I’m on my way over?
Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English.
4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.
7. Please plan to feed my grandkids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver’s license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico , but, I don’t plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won’t make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. Flag from my house top, put U S. Flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.
13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.
14. I want to receive free food stamps.
15. Naturally, I’ll expect free rent subsidies.
16. I’ll need Income tax credits so although I don’t pay Mexican Taxes, I’ll receive money from the government.
17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov’t pays $4,500 to help me buy a new car.
18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I’ll get a monthly income in retirement.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who walk over to the U..S. From Mexico . I am sure that President Calderon won’t mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.
Thank you so much for your kind help. You da man!!!

NOVEMBER, VOTE THE DIRTY RATS OUT
A sure bet someone in the Mexican press won't be asking El Presidente Maximo why his subjects want to leave home for the States. He'd probably be invited to go for a little ride with Filipe's personal bodyguards. Oh, btw, we just changed our cruise plans from Mexico to the Bahamas and the Carribean. SI SE PUEDE, Senor Calderon!
Free education happens for Mexican children here in AZ all the time the children's parents sign their child up for school with fake papers and write in an abandon house/ hotel for their adderess. They don't have to be in the States for more than a couple hours, and they can continue to live in Mexico. In fact in one public school district in Pima County the tax payer have paid over 1 million dollar to educate these childern.
Also since San Francisco is opposed to religion, they should get rid of the San or Saint part. Officially it is the city of Francisco.
I've heard some supervisor's in the construction trades call it monkey see monkey do method for building houses…they all be crumbling in about 20 years….
and all we want done is to humanely send them back whence they came…
In my early 20's one of my closest friends and I rented a townhouse. One of the nicest people I know and someone who worked hard and did well in his field. He and his family came here illegally from Mexico. Of course I'm happy he's here but we cannot make policy on our individual feelings, we have to make policies that are good for the nation.
This is not about Mexicans, they are mentioned because they compromise the vast majority of illegals. The problem with illegals is not related to their skin color, it's related to how they unlawfully entered the country. Every nation on earth protects its sovereignty and enforces its borders. America is among the most lenient, and irresponsible, in enforcing its immigration laws.
Seal the borders, put the military on the border and stop the anarchy by the drug cartels, build a wall / layered fence, deport the criminals and foreign gang bangers [18th Street / MS13 / La Raza], restore order.
If the federal govt refuses to enforce the laws, which has been devastating for countless communities, the citizens will be forced to do the job and then it will get ugly.
Michelle Bachman would also be a great choice…a lot better spoken and not a bad looker either…lol
ah but they do…just on our soil rather than their own….
what a disgrace…celebrating a purely mexihole event…and on our dime!!
