Real Change Is On The Horizon
by David BossieWe are in the midst of a national debate over the size and scope of government and I am hopeful. Conservative Republican Joe Miller’s remarkable victory in the Alaska Republican Senate Primary should have Americans feeling optimistic about the prospects of real change coming to Washington in 2011. Miller’s victory over incumbent Senator Lisa Murkowski is just the latest jolt to an establishment that has paved the way for an unsustainable $13.3 trillion national debt and record budget deficits.

My PAC, Citizens United Political Victory Fund (www.cupvf.org) has a goal for the 2009-2010 election cycle to recapture the majorities in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives by helping to elect candidates who will fight for conservative principles and challenge the agenda of the Obama Administration. To date, CUPVF has made more than $300,000 in direct contributions to 53 federal candidates who are campaigning to put an end to this fiscal insanity.
If Miller is elected to the Senate in November, along with fellow fiscal conservatives Pat Toomey (PA), Marco Rubio (FL), Sharron Angle (NV), Ken Buck (CO), and Rand Paul (KY), business as usual in Washington will be over. And good riddance! After all, one U.S. Senator has the power to bring the legislative and appropriations process to a halt. Imagine what this group of potential newcomers, with a clear mandate to stop the spending, could do to get America’s fiscal house in order! Establishment incumbents from both parties should beware that the taxpayer funded party is about to end. Voters are giving the order: enough is enough.
Who would have believed 18 months ago that President Obama’s big government agenda and ultra-liberal ideology would actually be the catalyst for bringing real change to Washington? I think it’s fair to say that if Obama had governed moderately as promised, the level of fiscal change that is rapidly approaching would not have been possible. Obama and the liberals completely misread their mandate and this is the result. Americans voted for pragmatic governance in 2008 – not a continuation of the LBJ welfare state on steroids.
The task at hand is not going to be pretty. Nothing but the toughest of decisions will have to be made to pull us back from the cliff we will be falling off if we stay on our current path. The Federal budget has to be severely slashed. The same goes for state budgets, because the bailouts from the feds are going to come to a screeching halt. Meaningful entitlement reform and dramatic earmark reform are absolutely necessary. This is our generation’s real Apollo project. Do we have the mettle to do the tough things for the sake of our children and grandchildren, or will we just do the easy thing and vote to increase the debt ceiling on our way to bankruptcy?
I believe in American exceptionalism, and if we succeed in this daunting mission, the rest of the world will once again believe as well.

Change on the horizon?
I HOPE we can CHANGE it back!
That will fit nicely on a bumper sticker………
OK, so the guy running vs. Dorris Matsui (D) is Conservative Paul Smith (R) in the 5th Congressional District CA. He has been funding his Campaign by himself and getting no help from the RNC, Tea Party, NRA or Anyone.
Paul has Suspended his Campaign and Matsui will walk into another election. So a rubber stamp for PaLousy, Boxer, Reid and Obama is set up to run amuck for another term.
Dan Lungren (R) has endorsed Smith but been of no other help. Meg Whitman, Sarah Palin and the rest have been no where to be found.
Paul has had some help from KTKZ 1380 Radio Talk Show Host Eric Hogue and Mark Montgomery. Otherwise he has been left hanging in the wind.
Help out Paul! http://www.paulsmithforcongress.org/
I hope these newly elected officials can uproot all of the corruption thats now excepted as business as usual in Washington. We need to stay vigilant and support them. They will be outnumbered but we can change that America its up to us.
Once it becomes PC to take back our country wait and see how many sheeple will want to be on the winning side. Claiming they were there the whole time.
This will be the first of many victories. We will finally see an end to the lunacy by the one party government.
Americans wanted to vote to punish Rinoism in 2008 and the Republicans ran with the RINO leader–No way they are going to get away with running another frigging RINO in 2012!!
He seems to be OK. Question is why does the TEA party ignore him? Whereas, Matsui is just a rubber stamp for any dim proposal. She strictly votes the party line.
So instead of more big government, war for Israel and a blind eye towards an invasion from Mexico and outsourcing of jobs by those with a "D" next to their name we can have more big government, war for Israel and a blind eye towards an invasion from Mexico and outsourcing of jobs by those with an "R" next to their name. Unless and until the candidates campaign on 1) deporting the illegals, 2) ending our massive welfare payments to Israel (and thus to Egypt and Jordon and most of the other countries – see here http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/politics/us-forei... ) 3) raising tariffs and bring back the manufacturing jobs to the US, 4) ending the multiple wars for Israel in Iraq and Afghanistan, 5) DENOUNCE GLOBALISM and the CFR, NAU, NAFTA, GATT, WTO, and other organizations and agreements which SUBVERT OUR SOVEREIGNTY, then I can confidently say you will see no difference by replacing one set of clowns with another. There is no reason any honest American would have any problem doing the above unless he is already compromised and therefore should not hold office at all at ANY level. It is just intellectually lazy to think some fly-by-night group or PAC that conspicuously has "Americans" or "Freedom" in the title (like the various communist countries calling themselves a "republic") is going to save us – especially if they are working within the system. You all want to send $20 to some "fund" and go back to watching tv thinking you did something. It is going to take far more than that.
Get rid of Obama-care and we'll talk, Until then?
Meh.
Folks, do not become complacent with the pole figures. Make sure you vote and drag your friends, their friend, etc with you to the polls. This 2010 election makes or breaks our country. We must do the same in 2012, 2014, ad infinitum. We can never again let down our guard regarding the country and our Constitution.
Is that the new Democratic campaign slogan "everyone is corrupt and theres no hope". Nice to know thanks…
You are absolutely correct!
They will be crawling out of the woodwork; saying "I toldya so"…….
You are a perfect illustration of the mental slave who thinks in terms of party.
I was trying to think about how to say it and then I read your post, OldmanRick.
I'll shut up now.
Good job!
Aww did my comment hit home and you had to resort to name calling? Sorry not gonna catch anything here fella. And…lol
"I HOPE we can CHANGE it back!"
"Yes We Can"
The name Juan Mclame comes to mind.
That pretty much sums up the Dems now.
You are also forgetting. "its everyone elses fault, not ours", " we make a ton of promices, but dont ever keep or deliver them", "If you disagree with us, then your a racist", and "we 'fix' all problems by throughing your money at it".
That was fun Ash.
"Who would have believed 18 months ago that President Obama’s big government agenda and ultra-liberal ideology would actually be the catalyst for bringing real change to Washington?"
Not I – and I am encouraged by recent developments – but I can't shake this lingering fear that Republicans will somehow manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory yet again.
The Tea Party is in their own battle over who will control what inside their leadership. The Tea Party has no plan B or C. The RNC and RNCP are RINOs. Conservatives are a ROYAL pain in the backside for Republicans. See John McShamnesty, G Bush X2 and Lindsey Gramm.
Remember, we have not had a Conservative Republican Party in Washington since Calvin Coleridge. The Media along with the powers that be inside of the GOP have done their job well. The Republicans have been way to the left side of JFK and ONLY a little better then the anti-Constitution democrats. Sorry, just call em as I see em.
: )
The trouble is only about half the Nation pays Tax.
The half that does not pay does not really care about anything except their next hand-out from the Government.
Everyone must start to pay into the system for change to occur. Doesn't matter if the person is on welfare with a dozen kids, that person should lose funds, funds that go back to the United States Government…. lose out, miss a meal or two, or three….. get rid of the cable TV, cable Internet, and pay tax like everyone else.
Only then will enough Citizens think twice before allowing the Goverbnment to spend any money at all.
They have nationalized health care, many lending institutions, student loans, and the auto industry, one half of our ecomomy is now under government control.
The Progressive holy grail. FDR's second bill of rights, is the progressive agenda, everyone sholud read exactly what they are..
America we are being fundimentally transformed.
The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the Nation;
The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;
The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;
The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;
The right of every family to a decent home;
The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;
The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;
The right to a good education.
Is this what America wants, fundimental transformation?
Or does she want the fundimental reformation necessary to reclaim our 'right' to American Exceptionalism?
God Bless America
DBZ,
Regarding your post above, I agree in principle. We are growing beyond the two party system and in that threat the Republicans are wielding their blunt ax of funding more to shore up the old guys than embrace a new generation of conservatives.
I am puzzled by responses here. If we are equally against RINOS why all the thumbs down for a post that merely recounts the RINO positions for YEARS in congress?
The only thing I would say is right now it's CRITICAL to vote out dems, even if that means sending RINOS back like McCain for one more round. 2012 will be a very different election, DBZ. But for our immediate purpose, maybe folks are willing to give a "you're in but on probation" vote right now, for fear that the utterly new, independents cannot defeat incumbent dems.
At least it's worth considering this as a strategic short term tactic. The real test will come in 2012 when we've had a chance to not only see if these RINOS turn right, and when we've had more time to foster and mentor new independent candidates to step up and make serious, and well funded runs.
With as fun as that was, its sad how true it is to.
I guess the only way anyone would defend these lying dirtbags is if they were either bribed or were given some sort of special promise.
Are you actually Pat Buchanan?
These people have an agenda we all know it. They will try to divide us with a whole laundry list of accusations. Its not working anymore and that scares the hell out of them. Even a lot of our youth is figuring it out. There is hope for us and its in our hands.
"Obama and the liberals completely misread their mandate and this is the result. Americans voted for pragmatic governance in 2008 – not a continuation of the LBJ welfare state on steroids."
When you vote for "pragmatic governance" there is always the possibility of getting the "welfare state on steroids." We do not need more "pragmatic governance" – we need PRINCIPLED governance. It is LIBERTY or the highway, baby!
The defense of our ally Israel is tied to America's foreign policy goals and is a drop in the bucket compared to the funding of the welfare state. Get your mental house in order, anti-semite.
Right, Israel's borders are important while ours aren't.
Israel is only tied to America's foreign policy because they have so many Israeli citizens in our government . Would this be tolerated by ANY other country? Israel could vanish tomorrow and it wouldn't matter to anyone other than the vipers in this country who are not Americans at all but traitors.
Well, I do agree about the rinos; but the tea party doesn't need a leadership. We're doing just fine without any. As to the old boy's club within the repug party, we're trying to rid ourselves of that archaic group of bottom patters..
Yup, there is always hope. And no kidding how scared they are now. Yet, the only cards they can play now are either the blame card or the race card. Since as we all know, they have nothing to show for anything they passed, and get scared when the truth about their bills are exposed.
" Israel could vanish tomorrow and it wouldn't matter to anyone other than the vipers in this country" So you and Hitler agree thats also nice to know. Were learning tons about you and you're ilk today please continue….. Small minded people have narrow thoughts.
I could say the same thing about the Jews. Only I can actually point to them – Bernanke, Wolfowitz, Rahm Emanuel, Lieberman, etc…. Who can you point to?
POLITICIANS ARE SCUM!!!! is that correct??? yep! as I see it you an' me….no you!!!…got us into this fuggin' mess! huh? how dare I say that you are the reason??? easy.____the your guy bad my guy good syndrome is part of it…..POLITICIANS ARE SCUM!!!____the average american voter is a DUMBASS!!!! yep! how many of you went into the booth fully informed about the issues? about the person running? did you vote party or did you use the few remaining brain cells you haven't killed??____here is how to fix the way gubmint works…FOR you….DRIP…DON'T RETURN (REELECT) INCUMBENT POLITICIANS…that is the first step…NEVER NEVER NEVER vote for a tax increase for ANY-FUGGIN'-REASON!!! why not? it will help the_____________(insert any item you care to in the blank) well what happened to the tax money that you voted for the last time????____do not vote for the rePUBICan or demonCRAP party…vote the issue or the person that follows your line of reasoning…it doesn't matter what party they belong to…they are POLITICIANS…..AAAAANNNNNDDDDD POLITICIANS ARE SCUM…yes yours too!!!____
Why do you hate the Jews so much, what they ever do to you?
As for all the names you put up. All of them, along with Reid, Pelosi, Obama, Frank, Soros, and all the other progressives in office, need to be kicked out and soon. What can be said, progressivism is the cancer to the American way, and we need to rise above them to take the country back.
I realize I wasted several minutes trying to convince a bunch of 'melon haids' that POLITICIANS ARE SCUM but at least I practiced my limited typing skills such as they are…
DRIP…DON'T RETURN INCUMBENT POLITICIANS!!
POLITICIANS ARE SCUM!!!!
NO ON TAXES…ALWAYS!!!!
It is also important that we not vote for candidates disguised as conservatives. No longer will I vote for a "Republican" like John McCain. I will vote third party if that is the candidate even if the Democrats retain power. The Republicans are not blameless in this mess and hopefully they will get the message.
I too have noticed that the word "pragmatic" is often misunderstood and misused. More often than not, I cringe at its usage.
"Pragmatism" is not necessarily a good thing, whereas practicality always is. Pragmatism is not practical and practicality is not pragmatic. A pragmatist will allow himself to be blown wherever the wind blows without thought; a practical person will stand against the wind (if necessary).
Pragmatism is taking the easy road with a total disregard for logical consequences. Practicality is choosing the road (whether easy or hard) only after considering where it will logically take you.
Did anyone catch Fox News yesterday morning? A business man was being interviewed who put up a huge billboard in Missouri (great bright blue background) that says:
Voted Obama? ( huge pic of o's face in the middle ) Embarrased Yet?
He's receiving death threats now.
ZOONER….you are correct but as I said vote for the one that follows your line of thinking….the dumbasses in aridzona weren't thinking…here in the desert the brain frys on election day, and on thursday and tuesday and…….
Even if Murkowski wins as a Libertarian she would caucus with the Republicans anyway. So either way the GOP wins.
The Devil himself inspires their philosophies. This is one reason why they are so incredibly and consistently destructive. Satan seeks the misery of man, not his happiness! Our president is, in turn, inspired by Alinsky. The connection couldn't possibly be more clear!
And the misery is only beginning. It is anyone's guess how far the Devil will drive those who pay heed to his counsel. Just look at history and the present-day world for examples of how destructive and tyrannical collectivism can become. Venezuela, with rampant inflation, lost freedom of speech, a megalomaniac dictator, and food shortages that didn't exist 10 years ago? North Korea, with societal starvation, torture, a giant concentration camp of 24 milliion people, and state-sponsored murder? Europe, with collapsing financial markets, economic stagnation, and a near godless, secular society?
Progressivism is not compatible with personal freedom, free enterprise, the US Constitution, or Christianity! It will destroy them all if not arrested quickly!
Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.
Ronald Reagan
let me take up some more valuable innernet space…whatever Wal-mart, BP, IBM or any other BIG bidniss wants they'll get…why??? well they own their own SCUMSUCKIN' POLITICIAN….
DRIP…DON'T RETURN INCUMBENT POLITICIANS!
NO ON TAXES…AWAYS!!!
POLITICIANS ARE SCUM!!!
Why Reagan decided to run for President, in his own words:
"With each passing month of the Carter administration, I became more concerned about the things that were happening – and not happening – in Washington. Jimmy Carter had run for the presidency on a platform calling for cuts in defense spending and implementation of what the Democrats called "national economic planning." I'm sure they meant well – liberals usually do – but our economy was one of the great wonders of the world. It didn't need master planners. It worked because it operated on principles of freedom, millions of people going about their daily business and making free decisions how they wanted to work and live, how they wanted to spend their money, while reaping the rewards of their individual labor.
I also thought the administration was a disaster in the arena of national security. While it was cutting back on our military power, we were losing ground to Communism in much of the globe. The morale of our volunteer army was plummeting, our strategic forces were growing obsolete, and nothing was being done to reduce the threat of a nuclear Armageddon that could destroy much of the world in less than a half-hour's time. There were other serious problems: unemployment, inflation, and interest rates were climbing and it looked as if administration policies would lead the nation into a serious recession.
But perhaps worst of all, it seemed to me that America was losing faith in itself. Almost every day, the president was sending a message to the American people that America had passed its prime, that Americans were going to have to get used to less in the future, that we should not have the same hopes for the future that we once did, and that we had only ourselves to blame for it. As the months passed and the problems got worse, I received more and more calls urging me to run for president, so I decided to run in 1980."
Conservative individuals wanted Reagan to run.
It would do well for Conservatives to remember that the RNC DID NOT WANT Reagan ("I'm paying for this microphone" ring any bells?).
The Democratic Party is beyond repair.
Conservatives either need to weed out the RINOS and salvage the Republican Party, or let it die on the vine and build something new which truly reflects their values.
NO! I thought that all progressives were peace-loving hippies with sunshine and unicorns frolicking in the meadow! My reality has been shattered!
"After all, one US Senator has the power to bring the legislative and appropriations process to a halt."
Really Mr Bossie? She asks in jest, pray tell where was that one special brave patriotic Senator during
the oCare debate/vote/rape process?
Perhaps we should formulate a question for our next opportunity at discourse with out Senators. Here's
my first draft:
Sir if you are elected to represent our state in the US Senate will you pledge, in writing to bring the legisla-
tive and appropriations process to a standstill if we your constituents ask you to do so? YES or NO will
suffice.
FEET TO THE FIRE FOLKS, FEET TO THE FIRE !!!
.
I'd like to buy into the line that we're going to kick butt this year and reduce spending and cut taxes and end the corruption. I really would.
But why would Republicans do that? If they actually did what they said they were going to do they would have to risk something and there is one thing people in Washington don't do it's take risks. Risks are for leaders and leaders are targets that prevent the chosen from exercising their perquisites and privileges to take people's money and keep it for themselves and the ones that bankrolled them.
For once I will be voting only AFTER they do what they say. I've paid front-end fees all my life and there hasn't been any performance. Now I am strictly a pay for performance voter. You do it and I'll support you AFTER you have done it. Until then, don't yank my chain. You aren't my master and I'm not going to follow you.
If you want REAL hope and REAL change, Obama gives us DUH and UPDOC – the SHOCKING story at:
http://spnheadlines.blogspot.com/2010/05/obama-an...
Peace!
I'll start having hope in real change when the federal budget is actually smaller than the year before, for the first time in 50 or so years. Let me also stipulate that this actual reduction, not just a cut in the increase, cannot be made up for in more off budget spending. It's that kind of blatantly dishonest accounting that allowed the Clinton administration to claim that there was a budget surplus, while the national debt still mysteriously grew by leaps and bounds. Weird, isn't it. Maybe then I will have hope for real change. Until then, the definition of "real change" is the republicans growing the budget and debt, just not quite as quickly as the democrats. I really don't want socialism or marxism, done slow or fast.
The term budget cut in Washington is a joke. In the real world, it means spending less then you did before. In Washington, it's defined as increasing the budget a little less than one previously claimed the budget would increase. Usually followed by all sorts of fanfare and three cheers for "fiscal responsibility." It's a cynical lie.
After thousands of years of humans submitting to religious dictatorships, then some secular dictatorships, I would like the American experiment in liberty and freedom to get back on track. Liberty and freedom are simply not realistic in the face of a nationalist government that claims the power to modify our rights and claim our property simply because they voted to do so. Where compliance with the constitution is voluntary, and any questions about the constitutionality of a particular piece of legislation are answered with an arrogant, "you're kidding me, right.?" Thank you to Pelosi for that particular sound bite. The attitude of the government is, if congress votes for it, it is automatically "constitutional", simply because they passed it. Meanwhile, the supreme court has, over the years, completely abrogated any responsibility to be the third branch of government, providing checks and balance. The judicial has degenerated into nothing more than another appellate court, ignoring it's role until someone spends enough money to get an occasional case heard.
Yeah, talk to me about real change…
The republocrats? The demublicans? Yes, an end to one party rule please! Maybe then we can finally cut the budget and trim a bureaucracy or two. Pipe dream, I know.
A simple "Change It Back" will get the message across I would think…
Pay in? How about taking from? Even if folks don't use welfare, those making less actually get more back at tax time than they paid in! It's not that they are not paying taxes. They have taxes deducted from their paychecks too. The real problem is not that they get it all back, getting a free ride. It's that they get back significantly more than what was withheld. In effect, being paid to file their tax forms. Perhaps if that money was in an escrow account during the year, at least accruing interest to contribute to the budget, that would help. Much like social security though, there is no account, the money does not work for anyone, it was spent 5 minutes before it was ever collected.
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
Here comes the stampede of Liberal Democrats and RINOs abandoning Obama and rushing over to start waving the American Flag, denouncing high taxes, demanding smaller government, speaking out against abortion and gay marriage, offering transparency and bi-partisanship, calling for border security, and on and on…
Between now and November 2nd Democrats will be clamoring to seek the high ground disguised as Conservatives, then… if they win… RIGHT BACK TO HELPING OBAMA WITH HIS ANTI-AMERICAN, ANTI-FAMILY, ANTI-BUSINESS PUSH TOWARD SOCIALISM.
So… just how stupid are you?
Democrats and RINOs are Going Down… http://usataxpayer.org/htm/goingdown.asp
Obama Giving $7.5 Billion to Pakistan!
Obama Giving $400 Million to Palestinians!
Obama Giving $23 Million to Kenya for ABORTIONS!
Obama Giving Stimulus Grants to the Muslim Brotherhood!
It's all here and more… http://usataxpayer.org/?0055577011
only if the friends are not progressive/libtards….I'd do all I can to keep the barrybot next door from hitting the polls in November…
"Now I am strictly a pay for performance voter. You do it and I'll support you AFTER you have done it."
Couldn't agree more.
But I don't want real leaders in Washington (unless their military), I want real representation.
Here ya go….

victory??? rePUBICans???
don't be countin' dem chicken comin' home to roost too soon!!
Thanks, couldn't find it. I also loved the guy who put it up. He had balls and couldn't care what those progressives think because he said obama is killing small businesses.
Let's not stop there …so much to abolish at the Fed Level: Dept of Education, Prescription Drugs, No Child left behind.
Abolish Democrats
Abolish Socialism
Abolish Marxism
Abolish Communism
Abolish Unions
I talk to every voting age youngin' I see. Boy, are they apathetic and disgusted with what is going on and don't want to vote. So I pitch them on it being their future, not mine & so on. To the guys I tell them buy their future wives a Burka now. To the gals …I tell them the same thing and learn understand that you will never be able to go out alone again.
BTW, the term RINO keeps coming up. What does that really mean? What is a real republican? No republican congress or president has actually cut the federal budget in the last 50 years. Even Reagan doubled, well signed off on congress doubling the federal budget over his 8 years. Bush signed off on bloating the federal budget by 800 billion during his two terms. That the democrats spend more, faster, goes without saying, but back to the question. What is a RINO? What is a real republican? Based on actions, obviously fiscal responsibility and smaller government have nothing to do with it.
I watch republicans claim the high ground on protecting rights, but then vote to limit some people’s rights. Is the difference simply how much they spend and who’s rights they take away? I had hope in the “contract with America,” but what did that get me?
I mean, fight the Orwellian “fairness” doctrine, but then turn around and authorizing domestic spying without warrants? Fight a socialist card check bill, but keep using the “war on drugs” to keep giving government the power to confiscate private property without conviction or due process?
On one hand, give rights to the unborn, on the other, tell some adult Americans that they can’t have government permission to manage their personal relationships as they see fit.
Sounds like one group of statists versus another, freedom and liberty nothing more than casualties along the way. How about we try something new? No more voting for republicans, democrats, socialists, Marxists, the “moral majority”, or anyone else who wants to use the power of the government to take our paycheck, our property, or our liberty to satisfy their own twisted need to make everyone think and act as they wish them to. It was meant to be a free country, not just free for whoever happen to be liked by those in power.
No, I despise the socialists who claim to be “liberals.” However, I also have no trust in those that claim to be against them, only to grow government in their image, rather than limiting it. Not once in my lifetime have the republicans ever shrunk government. They have never reduced the federal budget. They have never significantly reduced federal regulation or bureaucracy. They have claimed to, but they haven’t, anymore than Bill Clinton created a budget surplus. It ends up looking like a choice between two flavors of socialism, not socialism and freedom.
Don’t tell me you are going to repeal obamacare, tell me you are going to repeal half a century of out of control federal growth and power. They me you are going to repeal legislation and departments that have cynically been created under the “interstate commerce clause.” Tell me that we will no longer send hundreds of billions of dollars to Washington to pay for our local schools. How about we just keep the money here locally.
Forget republicans and RINO’s, whatever they really are, tell me these things instead!
There should be no deductions, no refunds.
Everyone should pay the same percentage.
i'd start out at 15%, pay off the debt, and then knock the tax back to 10%.
If more is needed then everyones tax should go up
Even many dims are disgusted with the socialist BO crowd, and many of them might be fed up and ready to vote conservative.
There was no "mis-reading." Obama was clearly a marxist/socialist from the beginning. It was there for anyone to see, it was not much of a secret. People got exactly what they voted for. They just did not bother reading the fine print. They took what the MSM fed them and never bothered to look any further. That's how it usually goes. An "informed voting public" is as much an oxymoron as "military intelligence."
Either the majority of the country wanted a marxist in office, or the majority of people think that merely going to the ballot box is somehow some great deed and their only civic responsibility. Get the sticker! Hey, I voted! I'm the best! Merely voting is like a full graduation ceremony at the end of elementary school. Ask most idiots, who are proudly wearing their "I voted" stickers, and they would not be able to tell you who they voted for except for maybe one name. Ask them anything about that one candidate they can name and all you'll get is a blank look. It will be followed, about 40 seconds later, by some lame comment like, "well, they said they would do something I like." That's it folks! Welcome to the revolution! This government may not be what I deserve, it may not be what you deserve, but it is exactly what we collectively deserve. Toqueville had it right the whole time.
If anybody can, they can. Our default team (Republicans) really sucks some times!
I think 1700 years of European history shows just how similar christian government is to socialist government. If you need any reminders, just look at Islamic countries that are ruled much like the christians ran Europe for so long. It wasn't until our founding fathers divorced religion from government, that we began this experiment in freedom. It has nothing to do with a religious versus a secular society. Government is simply corrupt and oppressive by it's very nature. Our founders, recognizing this, tried to tightly control it's scope and power to the greatest degree possible while allowing for a common organization and defense. Very few of us will be more free under a 3.8 trillion dollar federal government run by religious enthusiasts. Give me a choice between a secular dictator and a godly dictator and I will chose neither.
Besides, what if the dictator you end up with is not the same religion as you?
That's reason number 456,789 of why the Internet rocks. They'll be exposed so fast that they'll be disgraced before they get home for pot roast.
Sorry…doesn't work anymore.
I knew it sounded familiar!
Love Reagan. Last politician I ever respected. But even Reagan signed off on the federal budget doubling during his eight years. And no, only a VERY small part of that was military spending.
I heartily second my esteemed colleague's motion! Sadly, it simply does not leave us many places to spend our votes for the time being. Hopefully that will someday change.
I am puzzled by responses here. If we are equally against RINOS why all the thumbs down for a post that merely recounts the RINO positions for YEARS in congress?
Because he's an anti-semetic fruit loop who changes his views on government to suit.
I heard that. I also saw a new "Miss Me Yet?" billboard.
with Carter on it! LMAO.
Sickening thing is: I kinda do, in a perverse "at least we survived his ass and got Reagan" kinda way.
Conservatives either need to weed out the RINOS and salvage the Republican Party, or let it die on the vine and build something new which truly reflects their values
In progress. Completion date: TBA
It's going to take 4 or 5 election cycles to do it. The trick is keeping people awake that long.
I can't wait until after the November elections………………….and THEN. Let the investigations begin.
Not only will they be out of office, they may very well be looking at a lengthy prison stay. We may need to build a HUGE federal peneteniary right in the heart of the beltway. And fill it up with these criminals.
Politicians, put simply, lost their fear of the constituency. In the Dinosaur media dominated years, they knew they could always control the spin and depend on big money donations to carry them through. No longer. You screw us and we're gonna keep that front and center around the net. Let the Progressives play defense until they are banished to the dustbin of history. Feet to the Fire?
You G**Damned right!
Well,……
we are still going to have to hold our collective noses and vote the lesser of two evils. I don't know if that will ever change. Some time ago, there was even some Dems I could have voted for. No, I'll vote straight Republican to reverse this mess. I know that some (R)'s depend on the entitlement vote almost as much as the (D)'s. We will never effect the shift back to strict constitutional government by sitting out the bad candidates. Elect them and if they stray the course, hammer them the next cycle and move on. If they truly fear the constituency, they will toe the line.
USMC,
Ah. I'm not that familiar with him though I have noticed when I try to engage he doesn't reply very often. Up till now I've come on his posts late and assumed maybe he'd gone for the day.
Thanks for the head's up.
I Pad App Zombies vs Plants will help you in that effort. Remember – lots of sunflowers…
Hence, the rise of the Tea Parties. You will constantly be butting heads with progressives if the Dems control anything. I pretty much agree 100% with you, right down the line. I have a lot of heartburn with the current crop of Republicans. To be fair to some of them, they have had to "get along to get along" for a long time. Those "Contract with America" days left me sour also. It's the main reason why I will never ever vote for a Newt Gingrich candidate. Never. Bush Republicans are the same.
I really think Michelle Bachman (sp?) is on the right track with a Tea Party Caucus. If it becomes powerful enough after November, squishsy Spendpublicans will be neutered even more than they are. I identify independent but realize that to effect the change we really need and start to de-fund, repeal and shrink this beast, we have to first acquire the majority again, hammer these people constantly with the will of the majority conservative populace and make them fear the constituency.
Taking the Spendpublicans kicking and screaming, if we must, back to fiscal sanity. Deficits of billions, trumpeted as "at least it's not trillions" won't do it.
Damn right. Repeal, de-fund and eliminate. 90% of the support for these FUBAR programs comes from the islands of metropolitan blue awash in a sea of red. Speak up, flyovers! Enough is enough.
There are some Spendpublicans that need an orange jumpsuit, too.
Time for the "Fall of Recovery" and a bunch of jobs lost in DC.
"Republocrats" "Demublicans" *snort* good one! I hope this is no "pipe dream" or we all are toast.
"You are a perfect illustration of the mental slave who thinks in terms of party. "
I love to party, don't you?
For example, I'm really looking forward to lots of parties on the weekend after November 2.
"Who would have believed 18 months ago that President Obama’s big government agenda and ultra-liberal ideology would actually be the catalyst for bringing real change to Washington?"
Actually, that would be me, but it was over 2 1/2 years ago over at Townhall.com. In fact, just about everyone who remembers the '94 election made the same argument when it became clear that McAmnesty would get the GOP nomination, thus guaranteeing a democrat win.
Granted, that was the Global Warming, Cap and Trade embracing, conservative loathing version of John McCain, not the fake conservative version that we see running for his life in AZ. Palin endorsed him too, which is why I am having a tough time working up much enthusiasm for her.
Is it just me? Doesn't anyone else see the contradiction in this?
It's creepy Whats Up, but you are so right. It's the youngin's who GOT to get it, or they will BE it, soon.
USMC, a thank you from me too. I always fall into that "I say what I mean, so you must too" hole. Well, I never claimed I was a "debater" just one of "the confused."
Republicans take an unprecedented 10 point lead on Generic Ballot for 2010 Congressional voting preferences.
Republicans 51%
Democrats 41%

I apologize to get off topic BUT : "Pakistani Minister calls for Obama to become “Caliph of Muslims”"
"The minister reportedly wants Obama to “offer Eid prayers at Ground Zero Mosque,” the construction of which, several blocks from where 2,972 people were incinerated by two airliners on September 11, 2001 when they were deliberately flown into the World Trade Center Towers, Obama has openly supported.
The same Pakistani story was published on a site which appears to be operated by MSN in India." http://www.thepostemail.com/2010/09/03/pakistani-....
98Z……. Yes Sir,,,, with Beck honed in on the Executive, Alpha Andy bitch-slapping the Dinosaur
media, and Palin jerking the GOP from the clutching hands of the blue-haired, blue-bloods we need
only be ready to steamroll when our services are needed. For me, it can't come too soon.
.
THERE IS NO SHADY SHADE OF GREY, IT'S EITHER THE DARKNESS OF OPPRESSION OR THE LIGHT OF LIBERTY!!!! RIGHT OR WRONG, RIGHT OR LEFT!!! While the highways in America may be straight, we drive on the right side of the road, if you veer to the left, a head on collision is eminent!!! That's what happened in the political spectrum, the political drivers on the right have veered to the left, we aim to correct that deficiency/USURPATION this November!!!! YOU ARE NOT KICKING US OUT OF OUR PARTY, WE ARE KICKING YOU OUT!!! It's still a two party nation, all the "Socialist implants" in the Republican party need need to join your friends in the Socialist formerly Democratic party, so all can be shipped out at once and our two parties can be reunited at the dinner tables across our sovereign nation of The United States Of America!!!!
I don't think American's are ready to have their republic stolen from 535 congressman, 100 senators and one POTUS. We WILL revolt. There would be no other choice.
When those Tea Party candidates get in office I'd like them to bring up a few bills to see who the politicians are and who the statesmen / stateswomen are.: 1) cut in pay 2) cut in politician's personal budget 3) term limits 4) since term limits are enacted, a pension and won't be needed. 5) no healthcare coverage once out of office . If a politician doesn't like that deal, don't run again for office. If a candidate can't live on $70, 000 a year, don't run. These offices were not intended to be life long positions. These 5 offerings to WE THE PEOPLE will begin to restore faith to the people.
Great article.
The key question is: will the newly elected Republicans demand effective, principled party leadership?
Or will they act like traditional Republicans, and show excessive deference to "seniority"?
"So instead of …war for Israel"
Oooo, look, the anti-semite sticks his snout out of the sewer.
And you are the perfect example of the reactionary left.
You, you anti-semite.
"The anti-Semite necessarily defines himself as monumentally inferior to the Jew."
"Israel could vanish tomorrow and it wouldn't matter to anyone other than the vipers in this country who are not Americans at all but traitors."
I'm just guessing here, but I'd say you have a poster of Baldur von Schirach on Mom's basement wall that you jerk off to, don't you?
You have made an excellent point.
