Is America Surrendering to China’s Trade War?
by Chriss W. StreetWith no shock and awe and little pomp and circumstance, China has declared war on the world. Having watched the Gulf Wars on CNN, Americans are accustomed to wars fought with jets, battleships, tanks and infantry. We constantly are on the look out for foreign enemies on our soil and the vigilance of our citizens has thwarted numerous terrorist attacks. Unfortunately, Americans are not accustomed to recognize international weapons of economic mass destruction. In the modern world, exports, deflation and economic competiveness are weapons far more powerful than cruise missiles.

Naive to this new deadly threat, the US government has launched wave after wave of assaults on the competiveness of American business. Healthcare and financial service “reform” is driving business operating costs higher and credit availability down. The soon-to-expire tax cuts will result in the largest tax increase in American history. It should not be surprising that China would use tactics akin to economic guerrilla warfare to attack when our nation is most vulnerable.
China’s supply of young workers entering the labor force is peaking this year and will decline by one third over the next dozen years due to decades of population control. But big increases in rural farm productivity are pushing huge numbers of the young off the farms and into the factories on the coast. With factory worker suicides rampant and labor striking over wage rates too low to buy food, China panicked last year and increased its money supply by a spectacular 40% to quell dissent. Given the threat from a sinking economy creating a revolutionary environment at home, communist China chose to invade world markets by exporting almost 40% of its gross domestic product.
Statistics just released have obliterated any hope that a meaningful economic expansion is under way in Europe, Japan or the US. Business confidence, factory orders, auto sales and consumer product purchases are plummeting. Meanwhile, Chinese exports grew a blistering 22% rate for the second quarter of 2010. With their exports equaling 5% of the world’s gross domestic product (GDP), China’s capture of another 1% of the world’s economy will force producers in other countries to cut employment by approximately 10 million jobs.

The American public is waking up to the rising threat China poses and adopting a newfound appreciation for the dangers of debt. With the ratio of U.S. household debt to disposable income still standing at a historic high of 126%, consumers are cutting back on spending and becoming savers. Recent surveys show that demand for personal loans and residential mortgages is contracting.
During America’s heydays from 1950 to 1985, the household savings rate averaged approximately 9%. For the next 28 years, the rate steadily declined. By 2007, the rate actually went negative, as many homeowners became self-deluded that their homes were automatic teller machines. That downward trend is over. The U.S. personal savings rate has quickly climbed to 5%, about halfway back to its normal level of 9%.
Europe is responding to the Chinese export blitzkrieg by reigning in deficit spending and adopting more pro-business policies. European labor unions took to the streets in Greece, Spain, France, and Italy in outrage to protest austerity budgets, public pension cuts, and privatization of large swaths of government run services and industries. Their reward has been public opinion scorn and repudiation as terrorists. Desperate to save their own hides from voter retaliation, European politicians are even beginning to talk about tax cuts to spur domestic investment and corporate competitiveness.
The U.S. Government on the other hand has been clueless to the Chinese threat as Federal bailout spending just hit a total of $3.7 trillion dollars. Current deficit spending is running at $9.90 per working hour for every taxpayer in America, a rate 20% higher than the minimum wage of $7.75. With China’s exports growing at a record pace, and American retailers over-stocked here at home, U.S. producers will again slash costs and unemployment could soar.
U.S. Economic performance numbers for the 3rd quarter are set for release just four days before the November 2nd mid-term elections. With this year’s economy treading water in the 2nd quarter and now beginning to drown, tax and spend politicians are likely doomed to the equivalent of a court-martial by voters.
America was caught flat-footed in Pearl Harbor and 9-11. There should be no confusion this time around. China, with one fifth of the world’s population and a failed domestic economy, has launched a Trade War to export its problems. The U.S. public understands the dangers and is increasing saving to sustain for the battle ahead. Chinese intelligence operatives read the New York Times and watch CNN. What they see in the media is a country staggering under debt, undermining business competitiveness, mired in deflation and ready to surrender its economic independence to China’s export onslaught. Are we?

Dear Mr. Obama,
I read this morning that you are going to go on the “America would have been worse without me” tour to boost your parties poll numbers, with 99 days to go until election day. Being a natural born and bred capitalist I find this fascinating. Think of it this way; if I invented a new car with square wheels and then did a tour around the country trying to convince people, that those round wheels are just to darn efficient and useful – how many people could I convince? Not many. Unless they are attendees of the “Nut Roots” convention, you could probably sell a whole bunch of my square wheeled cars to those people!
See, Mr Obama, in my world I’ve got to do or create something that others find enough value in to part with their money, that they could use for an infinite number of purposes. To illustrate this; take Al Gore for instance. Does Al buy another massage at the happy ending saloon, or, does he buy more earth polluting energy efficient light bulbs? Tough call. If he was real careful he could have as much fun with the light bulb I guess, but even Mr. Gore would have to realize it was not worth the risk. In your world, Mr. Obama, you have to create words on a page that will either use force or coercion to get my fellow citizens to do the federal governments bidding. Do you see the difference? One is based on a voluntary association the other being foisted upon a citizen through threat of death or financial coercion.
So you, and other liberals, must go on tour and tell us how we can be best managed by those of your ilk rather then on our own. Now, Mr. Obama, it would be one thing if liberal progressive democrats had a record worth aspiring to. But no sane citizen can make that claim, every program that you and those of your ilk have pushed has placed this nation in bankruptcy – morally as well as fiscally. In essence the United States of America has had its perfectly round wheels converted into square ones and now you, Mr. Obama, must explain to us why we must abandon the round ones and drive our lives on the square ones.
To borrow a phrase from you, “Make no mistake,” if there is one person that can convince America to commit suicide your election is proof that you have that ability. Maybe while you are touring you can link up with Dr. Kevorkian and discuss the death panels? After all you always claim that you are seeking the most experienced minds on any given topic – until you decide only to use them as cover all the while spouting the liberal line, and ignoring their advice anyway. Senator Judd Greg is darn near clairvoyant on this reality. Have a good week Mr. President and please remember that every dollar you will be spending on your travel and entertainment my kids are paying for, so take it easy on the Jet A and the Kobe Beef. Maybe you should figure out which President bought his own postage stamps, and tear a page out of his code of conduct and follow it?
Respectfully,
Joe Doakes
Obama must be just giddy with this. He has made Soros proud. Everyone who was stupid enough to have voted for him bear a huge responsibility!
These comment would have been great if sent to Bush>Cheney when they can into office back in 2000. Remember when we didn't owe China money and they, china was bending over backwards for access to the american markets. You remember be Clinton use to call the out at the WTO before China was a member…….The good old days, I do miss them.
The progressives/liberals running this country never played Monopoly while growing up, they never got past Candyland … and it shows.
Good letter Joe!
As much as I do not have the time to argue with you let me just say this. If you are claiming that "Bush" is as bad as Obama; Why did you vote for Obama?
China may have been exporting 40% of her GDP, but she has been quietly buying grain in rather small
increments so as not to excite the CBOT and light a fire that cannot be extinguished under the grain markets .
BTW US corn carryout (amt in excess of proj need) is expected to be historically slim this year. By the time
our US crop is harvested, the bins of last years crop in storage will be near, if not completely empty.
.
That's because they were too busy stealing lunch money from the other kids at lunch. I think "Candyland" is too advanced for them too.
As much as I like John Wayne….I miss your other avatar. …..I'll get used to it though. : )
Yeah, access to US secrets also, that Clinton had no problem providing for "Campaign Contributions."
Obama's got Clinton beat on this one my friend. Our only hope is that those "on the ground" do the right thing. I have faith in them.
End the war stop buying chinese.
If we don't remove Obama from office SOON, it could all be over within 2 years.
We are being sold down the river by a smiling empty suit, who is in way over his head.
An incompetent economic adolescent, intent on "getting even" with people whose values and work ethic, have made America great.
Oh, and try to buy American, avoid Chinese at all costs…
No, am not saying anything about Obama being as bad as Bush, because he's not. As for seeking a confrontation am not. I just have a hard time with the "Right" when they start with the "selective amnesia". In the 90's China kissed our ass because they wanted into the american markets. We told China what to do about Tiwan and Human Rights. We started borrowing their money and now they puff up and tell us what to do. That needs to change.
Any truth to the tales that China is dumping US securities? I know they want to get off the dollar as the international unit.
If we count the unemployed as they did during the great depression, would our current unemployment be closer to 20%? What's going to happen to this number when there is NO money for discretionary spending? WHEN deflation hits, how much of our net worth will we lose in our fixed assets? Gold will not be a hedge in the long run, due to new regulations and increassed taxes in the buying and selling. Makes me want to look into mountainside property…
No doubt. Palin will change this. I have little doubt that she understands that value of a country that is in the position to lend is far better than one that is a debtor. I also have little doubt that she understands that you do not give a future military adversary an advantage. Who would do that?
Please read this letter:
To the Editor:
Submarines have always fascinated me. Their role in the last century cannot be overstated. From the simple man powered submarines of the civil war to the USS Nautilus’s journey under the North Pole to the modern submarines that form a critical part of the US nuclear deterrent. As over engineered as these ships are, when a torpedo hits, decisions have to be made to save the ship. Sometimes those decisions have to be made under extreme stress, and the result of the orders leads to the death of fellow crew mates. As one space fills with water, pulling the ship inexorably to the bottom, a sailor in the dry space must close the hatch to save the ship.
The United States is analogous to a submarine wounded by enemy action. Instead of an enemy firing a torpedo, we, via all of our poor political leadership have fired one upon ourselves. The political classes collective record, how ever well intentioned, has lead us here, through massive spending, borrowing, and making promises to citizens that cannot be met. Character at a point of pressure is the most important asset a leader, officer, or soldier possesses. Why? Because sometimes it is necessary to close the hatch to save the ship. The question to my mind is which party possesses the capacity to do that now.
While the collusion of both parties are to blame for our sinking ship. It is the Republican party that is desperately trying to close the hatch and save the ship. The Republican party is standing against three pieces of legislation that will forever resign this nation to a continual decline and eventual ruin. The first is commonly understood to be “health care,” this legislation will forever alter a citizens relationship to their government. If it passes medical attention will become a right that must be met by force of law. As the saying goes, if you want to make something expensive, make it free. The failure of this solution to meeting the medical needs of people is deeply felt by those who lost loved ones because the English or the Canadian governments denied vital care. Liberal Democrats have another scheme to launch on the American people this one is called “Cap and Trade” – essentially this nightmare would allow the federal government to tax a citizen when they drive, breath, or turn on the light switch. Kirsten Gillibrand has personally advocated for it in the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal, I assume Senator Gillibrand expects that by creating the next Wall Street scam will lead to voluminous campaign contributions on the back of the American taxpayer. Finally, there is “Card Check,” this gem would eliminate the secret ballot from the process by which a business goes from being a non-union to a union shop. Thus, the Union leadership would be in a position to put massive pressure on those who voted “no.” Republicans have stood, and are standing against all of this – in fact on the “Cap and Trade” front Republicans have earned bipartisan opposition to it.
All the while the water is rushing into our ship, and the choice must be made in six months; will the citizens of this great nation choose to stand with the leadership of the liberal democratic party, that is trying to keep the hatch open, so we all go down, or will the American people choose to stand with the Republican party, that is trying to close the hatch? I have confidence that the American people are ready to not only support the Republican party, but help close the hatch and save the ship. America is ready to sacrifice all but our liberty and our economic freedom – this has, and will always be true, and has happened in the past, it is “We The People” leading the charge. Right now the only organized political party that has the capacity to close the hatch is the Republican party.
With obama disagreeing with American exceptionalism, what else would we expect? The fish stinks from the head!
hey, american unions, and american tax policy does not make it economical to produce anything here anymore, not to mention epa, osha, and the tree huggers. do the environitwits think by stopping a production plant opening in the us, they stop production? china, as well as other foreign countries welcome business, with all thier environmental concerns. making cast iron is tough here in the us, not in china. so either we fight these crazy environmental laws, and people here, or stop complaining if they all move out of our country. and more will be leaving with this anti business administration. if people want to buy something, somebody somewhere will make it, american tree huggers be dammed.
Joe, I read your post and I thought they were well thought out. I don't agree with but they were well written. You start with the Palin talk and that's where I draw the line. Sorry, she as dumb as a box of dirty rags!!! She is the reason america REJECTED your party in "08" You want to lose the white in 2012, plac Sara Palin on the ticket.
"We" exported our dollars to China through Wal-mart! Perot told us to buy American and we said F off, this shlt is cheaper. Throw in the regulations of the EPA and SHAZAAMMM! "we" are borrowing our dollars back instead of earning them. Pretty simple.
This is real simple: if we lose our wealth and the systematic ability to create more through innovation (which our communist government is well down the road to accomplishing) then there will be no discussion about whether to do this or that with bombs, missiles, or spies. We will be broke and of no consequence.
It's because people like JoeDoakes101 "don't have the time" that authors like Chriss Street can really screw with their minds. At least the Obama administration chases crooks on Wall Street and has a sence for "Paygo". Obama is winning the export war that China has waged because, as the article states they only export 40%. Under Bush it was over 60%. So, vote Republican if you want MORE Chinese imports, exported US jobs and to let China win the trade war. Its that simple.
Most conservatives, most Republicans, and a lot of independents who don't just get their news from the Times, like Palin. Calling her "dumb" puts you at a level of ignorance that is impossible to comprehend by someone who walks erect. But it is par for the left: when in doubt, go all Alinsky.
Spend a lot less time typing and just read the posts on the Bigs for about six months. If your mind is open, it will change.
BRAVO!! You are a get to it kind of American! If you are not seeking public office , you should be. Thank you.
If I may compliment you sir, The Doakes on Them!
Well done.
"WHEN deflation hits" – Do you really think its only a matter of time. With the control the banks have of this country, that only the progressives want to break up (Brown-Kaufman), do you honestly believe they will allow a deflationary environment to take hold when they have Geithner and Bernanke at their calling?
This Obamallah administration is one large economy sized package of prime Weapons Grade Stoopid.
Lets’ talk turkey on China, by way of a personal story and a recent sojourn I took on behalf of my children in my garage.
As a young boy I broke my arm so badly I was put in traction with a pin through my elbow for almost 4 weeks. I still have the pin. To say this hurt would be an understatement. Needless to say I received much in the way of toys and visitors. One toy was a remote controlled car that resembled a Porsche Le Mans – I used to torture those nurses relentlessly with this thing! They use to give me my sedative early just to avoid me screwing around with them. This little car was so precise I could drive out of my hospital room with one hand, go down the hall and come back with no trouble at all, with just using my imagination to steer the car.
Fast forward to today. I’m a father. Not the best one on God’s green earth, but I’m doing my best. So one day I head to target, to buy a remote controlled boat so that my little ones can have that experience – minus the broken bones! We get to the pool, set it up, and man if this piece of Communist Chinese crap wasn’t a steaming pile I do not know what is. The manufacturer is “New Bright Toys.” It cost around $45.00. I was so upset at this I decided to do something.
So I take this thing into my garage and true to my screen name, removed everything but the hull and the prop, and the prop shaft, then I begin to fix a product I paid good money for. Using nothing but balsa wood, a hot glue gun, some parts from an old airplane, and of course my American ingenuity. Now my kid has the fastest boat at the pool, and I have the satisfaction of building something. What’s more is my child saw me do it. That is worth much more than all the boats in the world.
Communist China has nothing on us – we can make better stuff than they can – economics and liberalism are why manufactures are there and not here. We can change this, but it will take time. Both countries will benefit as we compete to make better stuff at lower cost.
And that Roman Emperor did real well ordering the tide.
For the Fed to keep deflation from hapening, they will have to open up the business environment, congress will have to roll back spending, and the Pres will need to stop scaring away businesses (even GE, etc that supported him is backing away). I don't see all of those happening in time.
Or the
Them: "Your a racist!"
Us: But I'm Black.
Them: "But you hate jews!"
Us: But. . . but I'm Jewish!
Them: "Even worse you are a self hating racist black jew!"
America – don't take the bait, be wise out there, they are looking for an excuse to attack us and if the find the right one before we do, we got problems. We must self police. And we must do it better then the other guy!
Sir/Ma'am;
I'd rather lose on my feet then live on my knees.
While the Chinese government is looking out for the country and the people, our government serves Israel First (fighting MULTIPLE wars for Israel, giving them our tax dollars, letting them steal our technology, giving them business contracts, etc……) Mexico SECOND (allowing an invasion from Mexico to go unchallenged), China and the rest of the world THIRD (allowing more immigration, allowing them to attend our universities, and our self-destructive "free trade"), and Americans and this country is the VERY LAST THING they consider. Anyone have an example that counters what I say? Now lets think about WHY. Our government is hijacked by those with foreign interests and a GLOBALIST vision. When will YOU get off the couch about this?
The country is being deliberately sacked by the globalists. Read the Creature from Jekyll Island. Read "None Dare Call it Treason."
There you go again. Israel exists stage left tomorrow. We will be at deaths door the day after. Bet on it.
You really think Sara Palin can run this country? seriuosly? Please push her on the ticket for 2012, please do.
Being a natural born and bred capitalist…..
Someone sold you some square wheels. Capitalism is Goldman Sachs ripping off the country. You can have everything you probably associate with capitalism without it being a system by and for the rich like capitalism truly is (btw, the "capitalists" funded the Bolsheviks – capitalism and communism are cousins, not opposites – despite the propaganda you have been taught.
Yes. Blind monkeys hitting "yea" or "nay" buttons run it now, and push the right one if fed the right amount of bananas. Palin has the stones to pardon the producers from their regulation and taxation, we will be free to produce and create opportunity. We are running out of time. We cannot wait another 2 Pres. cycles for Reagan – we must act in 2012 as if the fate of our nation hangs in the balance – because it does.
Israel exists stage left tomorrow. We will be at deaths door the day after. Bet on it.
Bet on what – that makes no sense. Please explain.
Is Chriss Street the best Breitbart can do:
"The soon-to-expire tax cuts will result in the largest tax increase in American history."
All that says is that it was the largest UNPAID FOR tax cut in history. No wonder debt/GDP under Bush went up 10%. All while the economy was thundering on home price appriciation.
"With factory worker suicides rampant and labor striking over wage rates too low to buy food, China panicked last year and increased its money supply by a spectacular 40% to quell dissent."
This bit destroys the whole thesis of this article because China did this to develop domestic consumption, right at home. THAT is their war, not returning exports to two thirds of their economy. They lost 20+ percent of their GDP, in exports, when the global economy collapsed. On this ALONE you could say they are loosing this completely concocted "trade war" idea the author is claiming.
I dont know if Palin can run this country or not, but our current president is doing a piss poor job lately, and has only made things worse from where the last adminstration left off.
Others get to offer "intense debate" with more words than I can, here's the last of my thoughts on Chriss Street:
"communist China chose to invade world markets by exporting almost 40% of its gross domestic product."
Right. All-of-a-sudden. Under Bush, they exported over 60% of their gross domestic product. So, tell me which President is winning this trade war? It would have to be Obama, according to Chriss Street.
Our government and their corporate welfare allies support square wheels all the time, all administrations. The USDA has been in the news recently…the USDA prop up of the ethanol industry is a great example of square wheels. The USDA is nothing more than a cover for the corporate welfare elite or governess– Sherley Sherrod got that much 100% correct, and now the USDA welfare arm is obviously reaching out to the NAACP to spread the wealth for the prop up of the Obama social welfare agenda…just listen to Sherrod tell the story of billions spent already and how they, audience, have Obama to thank.
The round wheels don't have the same pay off to big business and wall street banks-traders/traitors, as the square ones do–what the governesses need is a recurring crises that goes on for decades or what is know as alternative energy and its many forms–the smart grid and a tax on carbon being the two most recent forms of the alternative energy's decades long crises–a square wheel world… verses actual solutions that pay for themselves with a return on investment and lower energy prices for consumers is one of the better examples–we can't have the crises solved or even reduced in urgency– of big-governess traitors reaching for their share of tax funding in place of actually solving or minimizing the crises–solved crises don't pay well.
The far reaching disregard of simple hundred year old technology, engines, industrial gas turbines and small jet engines that are used in the combined heat and cooling industry CHP–as the obvious central solution for lower cost energy, green natural gas energy and national security, CHP actually supports and strengthens the existing grid–In favor of a tax payer funded smart grid for big tech, big utility and wall street traders–who all favor future tech funding for alternative energy and the smart grid, is an ongoing decades old tax payer funded square wheel shell game.
I'm just tooooooooooo tired of seeing that face. ☻
Capitalism what ever that countries market makes it. Lately, many corporations have politicians have been getting in bed to together and as the corporations give money to politians, the politians gives them special deals or breaks.
Capitalism, n. The economic system in which the ownership and exploitation of wealth are left largely in private hands. That is Capitalism in its truest form.
We need to get the government and politians out of the market and let the market work freely as it should so this country can prosper once more.
Communism, n. A social theory that the common people should own all property and means of production. In other words, everything is publicly/government own.
Communism and Capitalism are polar opposites, but politicans now are moving away from Capitialism to Communism or Socialism if you prefer. We just need to seperate the politicians and businesses and lessin the taxes and restrictions upon businesses.
Update on square wheel sales:
A new poll by Seattle's TV station King 5 News(NBC) reports 43 percent of Washington State residents approve of Obama's job performance while 53 percent disapprove.
"The ratings are far worse for Gregoire as she faces a huge budget deficit. A couple of years ago, she was dead even on approval and disapproval. Today, 29 percent approve of her job performance while 67 percent disapprove."
This from an NBC affiliate here in the Ever'blue' State.
This will be a "November to Remember".
You are right about that, unless the current path of spending and taxing contiues, we will hit a deflation. It would happen one of two ways.
1. Government keeps spending and taxing as pleases and the markets loose more money leading to deflation.
2. Government produces more money spiking up inflation, and as dollar falls, deflation will hit due to overspending along with a massive drop of value of currentcy.
Can anyone double check this to make sure this simple explaination is right.
Spend some time reading the Economist, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and the Financial Times and it will become clearer to you what Bigs writers leave out, or play with, to influence their fanatics. Do you want to invent a number, or so much as verify where Chinese exports were before Obama?
The world owns us. Take a look.
http://www.ustreas.gov/tic/mfh.txt
Not such a pretty picture. It's time to replace congress, especially the house, with a fiscally responsible group. Otherwise declare national bankruptcy and start over.
Do try to buy American if you can find US product manufactured within the confines of our country. It will be an eye opener to many.
Businesses are also sitting on money right now, they refuse to spend because they don't know what the government is goint to do next.
True, I forgot about that part to. Since most of them will use that money as a buffer for whatever comes next, and will not spend it with this amount of great uncerntainty.
"We just need to seperate the politicians and businesses and lessin the taxes and restrictions upon businesses. "
Square wheels is thinking like you do. We need to cut spending, my friend, and its Republicans who continue to pedal unbridled tax cuts, who create RINO's, and may continue to do so in 2010 and 2012. Its because they have no balls and can't lead when it comes to addressing this nation's spending. If you are so wedded to the right, why don't you hold your own candidates to the fire before going out and expecting votes from others?
Now you all see what we're up against.
''Fool me once – shame on you…
Fool me twice – 'cause I'm a fool.
O•ba•ma – mmm mmm mmm"
"Blind monkeys hitting "yes" or "nay" buttons run it now. and push the right onr if fed right amount of bananas". Hmmmmmmmmm. Interesting. Who exactly are these "Blind Monkeys" in your analogy?
Heres your sign!!!
OK, if "capitalism and communism are cousins, not opposites", what is the opposite of capitalism and communism?
Nazism?
Who do you think, I think, they are?
Oh gee you guys are spoiling Team Obama's Dream of Global World Order. Stop being such American Capitalists. Oh, and VOTE this bunch of socialist/fascists out of office. Give them a copy of The Constitution on the way out!
I don't kow Joe that's why am asking you? Who were you referring to as "Blind Monkeys". Am curious is all.
Its the Republicans who'd hand the Get Out of Jail Free cards to: Goldman, Skilling, Maddoff, Mozilo…
The game of Monopoly was about controlling the real estate market. When you keep rates low, make the bankruptcy laws more strict in 2005 and then tighten the noose without renegotiating loan principal when home prices fall up to 60% (Vegas), you destroy all of your "opponents"….Some game.
Hmm. Let's see. You've put up my finly tuned "You are a racist antennae" and I was intitaially suspicious of your question. In my mind a blind monkey is self explanatory – one who acts on instinct without thought or sensory perception. Congress is 2/3 blind being led by one tone deaf President singing a tune that makes the liberals dance.
No doubt on the cut spending, I am all for that. But we also need those tax cuts since our businesses are already overtaxed and overregulated now. Afterall, we need businesses to expand and hire against to grow this economy once more.
We also need to get rid of those RINOs and progressives.
I dont know if you noticed this, I dont give a damn about sides, I say just hold both sides to the fire. Then we will try to get politicians who will actually listen to the people, as opposed politicians who force the people to listen to them.
Besides, in my previous post, I mentioned nothing about dems or repubs at all.
I remember when Made in Japan meant it was c*ap.
But I fear for our nation, and the bigest level is about the Beurocrats, not the leftist. When "regulation" has the force of law, why do we need congress?
Sorta like "Pavlov's Dog's"? Given the fact there are alot of african americans in congress who are democrat as well as the President, that's not a huge leap to make given the racist signs of your tea party movement. I mean c'mon Joe, you're no dumbass.
You've just stepped on a land mine called truth. Be careful with your next footfall:)
I think I see your thinking. Far worse than Pavlovs Dogs. These animals believe what they are doing is wise because of the bananas they are fed. The power, influence, money, sex, and all the rest. We forget that these are human beings of low character, easily corrupted. At least Pavlov had the sense to test his theory by cutting their heads off. (I'm in no way advocating violence – I'm just making a humorous point)
You are talking about republicans as well here correct? And lets depense with the name calling. Whether you agree or not with their voting record, they're not animals. Unless you're saying the "Human Animal". You don't strike as someone who believes in evolution.
I like animals. I love animals, my dog is an animal who gives me unconditional love. Nothing wrong with animals. Human beings are animals that can either learn via reason guided by morality or they can choose to be animals seeking pleasure and avoiding pain for the rest of their miniscule and insignificant lives – liberals are animals – they seek to create nothing – only to live off the efforts of others.
And Yes some Republicans are certainly animals, they are worse though because those that claim to be one thing and are another take deception to a level that is truly obscene. Liberal Democrats, those that are honest are all animals.
So you are talking about republicans/consevatives in congress as well??
So why do you continue to vote for these lairs? The republican/conservative animals?
LIAR
The U.S. has never fought one war on behalf of Israel.
No. Conservative Republicas are the solution to the problem of liberal democrats. I'm more on the side of States rights then some of my conservative friends. I firmly believe in the value of John Stuart Mills "Bad Example" as a social good.
Look, I probably agree with you both that the private economy will produce more per dollar, but government spending is inflationary, as long we borrow and pass on the tax bills.Spending less is deflationary and that's a force some politician from either side will some day need to do. The sooner, the better.
Change creates uncertainty. The banking business changed with fin reform. In a number of positive ways, banks can't count on money for nothing anymore, they can't lend to the economically dead and are required to pony up more money for a variety of risks.
Look, I probably agree with you both that the private economy will produce more per dollar, but government spending is inflationary, as long we borrow and pass on the tax bills.
Actually spending less is deflationary and that's a force some politician from either side will some day need to do. The sooner, the better.
Change creates uncertainty. The banking business changed with fin reform. In a number of positive ways, banks can't count on money for nothing anymore, they can't lend to the economically dead and are required to pony up more money for a variety of risks.
It is utterly amazing to me how Europe is moving in a more pro-business, capitalist, free-enterprise direction even as America's regime moves her into a socialist democracy direction — a directions whose outcome is failure as evidenced by the events unfolding before our very eyes!
"Dear Britain: Lift the Ban on Michael Savage!"
Presumptious. Ill-informed. Whiney. There are so many adjectives with which I can describe your post.
Nobody — and I mean NOBODY — is letting Bush off the hook. However, nobody (nobody, that is, in their right frame of mind) should give Obama a pass for egregiously exacerbating our every economic woe.
"Dear Britain: Lift the Ban on Michael Savage!"
The good old days?
Would that have been when drug money was being laudered in Arkansas under then Governor Clinton?Maybe it was when Clinton was taking money from the Chinese to fund his election. That's probably why he provided them access to our national secrets, don't ya think?
The Democrats and Clinton were neck deep in Chinese Intelligence money. Don't kid yourself.
Its good we agree on the first part, good start.
I agree on your second part except it wont be some politicians, but most politicians. Since we already have some of them for it, but most of them need to do it.
That last part wont happen. The fin reform bill will just be like the healthcare, stimulus, and other spending bills this administration have passed. It will give money to unions and other interest and do very little to reform the system at all. Not the mention the bill also doesnt go after Fannie/Freddie and they were among the biggest contributers to the financial collaspe. Just saying, the fin reform will do squat to reform the system and the same as the other failed bills that were already passed.
So you must be really disappointed in the republicans in congress right now? As for "States Rights" where are you on the 2000 voting decision made by the surpreme court? Basically telling Florida to stop counting the votes and "Selecting" the president of the united states.
It was Conservative Republicans who not only wanted to kill the whole idea of the consumer financial protection board, but also wanted to take away state rights in sueing for violation of even Federal laws in banking. See- Corker's amendment in the fin reform process. States have already lost the right to define usury laws (set interest rate caps, etc.). Liberal Democrats couldn't make this stuff up.
Your name gives away your loyalty – another "Pollard."
She can run it in to the ground to serve Israel like the cultist voices in her head tells her to do – the woman is insane. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgizfYZFPC8
Obama is already doing a great a job a running this country into the ground now. Actually, that is the only thing he is doin well.
And your posts give away your loyalty – another George Lincoln Rockwell.
There's only one type of voter who supports tax cuts without mentioning spending cuts.
I don't give a damn anymore about sides, either. All I know is carbon is up to 380PPM, SOMETHING had to be done about health care (even if it needs patching) and that I had a front row seat to the financial crisis. Wanting something done about these things makes today's American "progressive". That was, and still is, better than Nothing. Yes, it is.
As it stands, Rand Paul is the only Federal candidate I know of who would mandate spending cuts before accepting tax cuts. Anyone else, or is the next Republican presidential candidate aiming to ride the debt fuel just like Reagen, Bush II and Obama?
My anology to Monopoly was in regards to business sense displayed by the "powers that be" in the United States vs. China.
I have no qualms about your take on artificially keeping federal funds rates too low for too long by Alan Greenspan with his eye on the stock exchange. And I would think you would agree with me that it's way past time to audit the Federal Reserve. But what really created the real estate bubble was the combination of low rates and liberal Dems' push for home ownership for all, regardless of legitimate qualifications of buyers. "Free Parking" is a misnomer, someone pays for it.
I wouldnt worry about carbon, that is a non-issue that is made into an issue. True something needed to be done with healthcare, but the bill just took the problems it had and made them bigger. Actually, it would have been better if the government had done less, since its involvement in the credit crisis, all it did was make things worse after.
Rand Paul is probably the best choice currently. Besides, a spending is the biggest issue we have now and the current administration has done nothing but spend.
You missed my point. The whole idea of calling another country, that is acting in a capitalistic way, out to get us (?) is a farse. Street goes as far as saying they "chose" to export 40%. I was calling him out because they didn't "choose" to loose the 20+% of their GDP that was exports. You obviously don't follow this stuff, are not well informed and have little use for anything other than adjectives. It makes you perfect for Chriss Street.
If it weren't for the GOP who most certainly will shoot itself in the foot in 2011-12, my left testicle could run against this huckster and win. This is still America, not Wonderland.
Those of you who point to Bush in defense of Obama are ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC AND DESPICABLE. It's the same sh!t with BO, different a$$hole. Seriously, you folks are pathetic.
I'm glad you're reading, but I doubt you're reading at the level of those publications based on your description of yourself: "RINO whose joined the financial reform grass roots movement." (sic)
China is boosting exports by keeping its currency artificially undervalued. They do it because if they don't have near full employment the unpopular and corrupt government will fall. China has not declared trade war.
The Chinese government is just trying to keep itself in power. It is doing so by using the smoke and mirrors of currency manipulation. It may work for a while, but not forever.
So, what's your point? Do you think a Republican who sees fundamental problems in Republican legislation as recent as 1999 and 2000 is going to make progress with his own party in reversing it? To this day, there hasn't been hardly any contrition from them about all the things that got us in this mess that weren't about fannie mae and freddie mac. They don't see the whorehouse they helped create like John Bogle, of Vanguard, does:

We are Not Only Having Trade Wars, We've Got Food Wars, Corporations Manipulating Our Food and Water Supply
The grocery store, along with your kitchen sink, are two of the most dangerous places in the world.
In a special video, Alex Jones addresses one of the darkest modes of power the globalists have used to control the population– food. The adulteration of the planet’s staple crops, genetically-altered species and intentionally-altered water, food and air all amount to a Eugenics operation to weaken the masses and achieve full spectrum domination.
People the world over, but especially in the United States are under chemical attack. Deadly and dangerous toxins ranging from Aspartame to Fluoride, GMO, Mercury-tainting, pesticides, cross-species chimeras, plastic compounds in chicken, high fructose corn syrup, cloned meat, rBGH and new aggressive GM species of salmon have all entered into our diets and environments– whether we want it or not.
Many of these substances knowingly cause or are linked with sterility, low birth weight, miscarriages, smaller or deformed offspring, as well as organ failure, cancer, brain tumors and Death itself, what you DON’T know about on your grocery shelves can hurt you. Further, Alex demonstrates that a pattern of buried studies, fraudulent statistics and a will reduce global population all point to the deliberate criminal poisoning of the food and water supply.
Suffer no fools if those you show refuse to believe what is going on. Instead, research these important areas for yourself, and warn those you love about need to stop their food from being used as a Depopulation-weapon against us all. Please share this important video with everyone, so the truth about these substances can be known.
