In the two previous blog installments “Part 1: Quid Pro Quo” and “Part 2: Get Out Jail Free Cards” the real-life scandal of government union boss Ron Saathoff is documented. “Part 1” exposes Saathoff’s abuse of his position and taxpayers to reap a special taxpayer-funded retirement increase...

Lol…word.
When I was young, charity was avoided like the plague for meant you could not take care of yourself, personal honor was paramount and your "word" was your bond. Words fail to express my HEAVY heart…personal honor means nothing to a large number of our population…and most of the US Political Representatives.
Your word is supposed to be your honor.
And this comic makes a great point. "Feelings" aren't supposed to interfere with law. Sure, there should be mercy if there is merit, but "feelings" should not enter into the equation with respect to, is Obamacare Unconstitutional, who owns GM's assets in a bankruptcy, the preferred bondholders or the unions, etc.
More than just Oprah was to blame, but she was a huge driver of the anti-male, "feel" movement. Some old enough to remember Oprah's early years her shows were VIRULENTLY anti-male. This softened a lot in her later years, but she has always been anti-MALE males but likes men who cry a lot. This might explain why she can't keep one.
Ones word, the oath, the sworn allegiance all mean nothing nor as we are ruled not by law but by men, tyrants.
As a woman, I must admit this. While I appreciate the freedom, opportunities, and choices available to me has a modern woman, a part of me wishes their were more REAL men out there. Men that do what they say, and say what they believe. Men, that are willing to protect me, watch out for his family, and I could care for. It seems that (especially being back in NYC) the American male has morphed into my tomboy friend from Jr. HS. Anyhoo, just a note to the American male, …;0) …. Grow a pair, a stand up and be MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good day. ;0)
____________" a part of me wishes their were more REAL men out there."______
We are here
But it goes both ways .
I would like to see more feminine women,"Real Ladies"
A strong independent woman is great but…. you can still act and be a woman that will let men put you on a pedestal.
It is rare to find women like that.
Great toon Mr. Muir
When will we see this as an animated show ?
I am sure Red Eye would show it.
Agree.
"I feel (insert opinion here)," is a weak-minded expression of "I believe."
I believe substitution of "feelings" for "beliefs" that should come from a minimum of mental exertion is symptomatic of lazy thinking.
There is nothing wrong with compassion and feelings, but there's also nothing wrong with the male side of that – rules boundaries and limitations (i.e. the law and one's word). Society should exist as a balance between the two. I think we've gone too far on the spectrum toward the side of compassion and feelings and now we exist too much in chaos as a society. There's no one set of rules or laws for everybody, and whether or not we keep our word depends on how we "feel" more than anything, look at the state of modern marriage.
We 're here—- Just that a lot of us are busy with muslims, dictators, drug gangs, and the STUPID leadership we're currently stuck with. My pair is fully grown , thanks.
Yes, there are some of us left in the world today Kristine….
We take pride in holding a door open for a lady, stand aside in a narrow corridor to let a lady pass first, say excuse me when we approach a lady we may need to assist, introduce ourselves to a lady with a proper handshake, allow a lady to go first, hold and slide a chair while a lady is seated at a dinner table, compliment a lady on her appearance, respect a lady in the workplace, and many other manners attributed to the proper ways of treating a lady….
A part of WE men wish there were more ladies out there as do ladies such as yourself……
And we men also give all women the benefit of the doubt that they are a lady as I do give you at this moment….
We truly do have a desire to be chivalrous….we know ladies love that in a man, and in doing so can act as a compliment to our character and self-respect….
Thanks for encouraging us to do what we feel we've been needing to do all along….
I've got one and thank goodness every day when I see the hordes of metrosexuals running around who were birthed as a direct result of women's liberation. There is some indication that real men are slowly coming back into vogue. A lot of the Discovery Channel's evening programming is aimed at the kinds of jobs manly men used to want to do–Deadliest Catch, Swamp Loggers, etc. An awful lot of our country's woes would be solved if we encouraged men to be what men have traditionally been for thousands of years: courageous and protective leaders who know their role in society.
Attempts to use European case law as basis for decisions made by the Supreme Court,
the movement to remove the Constitution from relevancy because it is out dated and
stands in the way of this country's total commitment to socialism, also has the element
of feelings being more important than justice, justice based on law of what is right and
wrong, compassion and fairness should have a part in the decision making but not the
only factors considered. Gray areas, nuances, all the things the left love to imply
the right does not understand is already changing our society in very unpleasant ways.
I accept responsibility for following for the hype of the feminist movement at the beginning. But I saw the light. I am a strong woman and I've taken care of myself all my life. But I've learned the hard way it didn't have to be so hard. I am proud to say I've raised a real man. He has a tender side but he's fierce when he has to be. I hope I've atoned for my sins!
America needs to keep its own values and culture in mind. Preserve this great Country where law abiding people want to live in safety and peace, with individual freedoms and Rights. Unfortunately this Administration does not hold these values to be self evident! Word.
Some people have HONOR………
others just have words.
I've been around awhile too. I've watched American culture spend several decades demanding softer, gentler men, at the same time encouraging stronger, harder women. That's filtered down into how boys and girls are raised and educated. And now we hear, "Where are the REAL men?". LOL!
Kudos to you.
And sorry but why should men play the role in a play that closed a long time ago.
Women threw out their roles. They hop the fence anytime it suits them. Empowered or damsel… whenever it suits them.
Life is not a buffet table and men are not the caterers.
And look at the list you just posted. YOU want protection. YOU want someone to watch out for YOUR family. YOU want someone to care for.
Men do not require the approval of women to be men. Maybe we will find our own way. Fish/bicycle… remember.
MGTOW all the way.
There are some feminist groups that would like government to assume a surrogate provider / protector role as part of enabling women's independence from men. Obviously there are also other larger forces with other motivations, pushing for a centralized, controlling governmet.
"Women threw out their roles."
No – stupid wh0re b*tches threw out their roles.
I'm a woman born in the 80s, so I bear no responsibility for their idiocy.
I really do envy to some extent the people who grew up before liberalism and feminism came along and fouled up and confused the relationship between men and women. And before the days liberals convinced so many people that an unborn child was just a "blob of cells" like so much snot in your handkerchief.
I agree, but,…same timeless war, different new-age battle. I wonder if there's ever been any point in history when men and women were not griping about each other. LOL. Vive le difference!
I'm with you, Kristine. Where are those men? I married a man that in the end, was not a man, despite many years in the service. He is the most selfish person I have ever known, and has absolutely no idea how to be in a relationship. He was only happy when he was getting everything he wanted and wasn't too much into "giving".
Now that may not be a "feminist" problem per se, but perhaps it is. He treated me like a roommate with benefits. Oh, and I think I've learned that when a man constantly says that he doesn't mind if I make more money than him, it's probably a red flag.
I grew up at the very beginning of the feminist movement. We really NEVER thought those ugly women would have such an impact on our world. Between them whining about women not using their talents and the Government looking for 50% more Americans to tax, women lost the best job they could have. Caring for husband and children is quite satifying and no more monotonus than any other job. Now the super woman cares for the house, the man or husband in her life, children and works outside the home. She "feels" bad because she can't do it all, and angry when the dilemna is pointed out. This cartoon illustrates this quite well.
