There simply is no other way to explain the statements of White House Chief of Staff Jacob Lew this morning on CNN's State of the Union. Lew was asked by Candy Crawley about a recent statement by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid indicating he would not be bringing a...

Typical for a government job!!! Only you need more people just standing around shouting out orders!!!!!!
Standing?
What do you think those job trailers are for?
To do an honest days work is outside of the
politicians element……
Check out the following YouTube video done by a group of Tea Party kids. Pretty much sums up the debts Harry, Nancy and BO are dumping on our kids, and some actually understand it! Pretty out there flick and a bit funny. Must be hitting the left in the funny bone as well as you will see from some of the comments.
Name of the video is “ Barack Obama Song – It’s Your Money That I Love”
Link Is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQwyGMkAGbY
Enjoy!
Barackcountdownclock – Not Again In 2010!
I always thought they didn't have enough shovels to go around!!!!! Countless times I've seen a state/city worker standing there watching someone else work. Try that in the real world and Leroy Hungry will be knocking on your door. One of the sad truths as G. Beck pointed out the average Gov. salary is $30,000 more then the average wage in the real world. Kinda like leaving the fox in charge of the hen house.
I'm just not getting the humor. Am I alone in this?
Prediction…?
"I don't want to run the construction industry…Honestly I don't…"
~Barack Obama come spring, in the middle of the looming new home construction building crisis…¿
Yeah…I had to dig deep for this one…
Don't get me wrong. sometimes irony goes right over my head as humor, but I'm just not getting this at all. all I see is an artist's preoccupation with bosoms.
Look again. I edited my comment. I'm still digging…and yet…I'm still not digging it. Not so much.
Obviously. I'm confused already!
I've been a welder for the last 16 years. In most skilled trades a government job is slang for a job that is gonna get milked or not done right. I'm fairly certain this is common throughout the skilled trades but I can't speak for others.
Let me help….. The guy is incompetent using tools!! Notice all the bandages!!!!!!
You are right though its not funny maybe they were just trying to make a point?
Well.. uh…. apparently the red head is good at carpentry while the guy is terrible…. Erm… And the government pays a lot for hammers? Uh….
OK, I'm not really getting it either. But I have an excuse: Non-native English speaker!!!
Hey, I only pull out that excuse on rare occasions!
That was cool!!!!!
Well, in my experience, it is a job that is going to get milked but is going to be done as best as possible. Of course I am old school and so were my co-workers and employers. I have no idea how it's being done now.
PS: I still use a Lincoln stick welding rig and acetylene torches to weld and am proud to do so!
Thank you for hipping me up! I am totally unfamiliar with the concept of dudes not knowing what to do in ANY situation. I guess that stems from being competent. My bad.
OK, now you're just screwing with me. I thought all of those same things and I kept coming back to good old Irish boobies! Dammit! I'm a sexist! I can't deny my nature.
Never seen that at a government job. I have see it with private contractors paid by the government, though.
Only half a fair charge: Jimmy Carter was more effective swing a hammer for Habitat than he ever was in the Oval Office…
It's ok…… I've seen a lot of incompetents…………. They're called illeagal immigrants!!
I was in construction for 22years and yeah it's common there also!!
There are some jobs that will always have to be done with stick. Unless they invent a wire that has more ductility. Most of the really good welders that I know in the private sector are 50 or 60 years old. Its hard work but I find it enjoyable and rewarding.
lol….I agree, the cartoon is hard to understand…I took a "jab" at it
thinking the artist was saying the man was a goverment bureaucrat
that was only able to sit behind a desk and not able to actually put
his "theories & applications" into real life…whereas the woman
worked for a living and knew how to do the things that needed to
be done…..Geez, I just confused myself more…..lol
look at the guys hands and arm. think maybe he is good with bull sh*t (paper work) and bad with reality or real life(what the people want).
Part of this is understanding the history of the strip, go to the beginning at his website and have FUN!
You're.
A sexist would just be prejudice against women. Wouldn't an excessive love of the female form be more like um… satyriasis?
(OK, OK, not exactly….)
In point of fact I think the grey haired guy is kinda cute. But that's another story.
I still don't get this strip and I've spent WAY too long trying to figure it out!
Wait'll Obamacare kicks in: Six surgeons in the operating room, shooting the bull – smoking cigs, one surgeon actually operating on the patient.
A bunch of orange road cones arranged by the tabe.

Good point!!!!!
Nice to know that a woman doing construction work can still paint her nails.
For those of you who don't understand the joke about the hammer: If you were a politician and you wanted company ABC to contribute to your campaign without it being a payoff how would you start the cycle of money flow? (the jeopardy music is playing now . . . . music over . . . . ) You would create prices for the items the government buys far beyond cost – cogito ergo sum – $400.00 hammer is bought with your tax dollars (now borrowed from your children's future earnings) the ABC company produces hammer for $10.00. Sends campaign contribution to the politician that made all of this graft possible. Try doing this when you get a speeding ticket. This is one of the more "simple" scams – it is not possible to eliminate them all – BUT we can seriously reduce their caustic effect on the good old USA. I'm an undercover tea partier in the Republican Party . . . shush . . . it's a secret. . . . don't tell anyone.
"you're" not "your".
you're = you are helping to build
your = ownership of "helping"
Hey, you forgot the Union rep demanding 45 minutes break every hour, two hour lunches, cadillac health care (paid from company funds), 30 days paid vacation every year, and 200% pay raise every year.
