Michael Moore Fails to Call Out Keith Olbermann’s Hypocrisy
by Chris MoodyMichael Moore discussed his new film on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann last week, which excoriates the 2008 financial bailouts, corporate welfare and various other flaws in a system in which the government gives favor to corporations that can afford lobbyists in Washington DC. Moore also calls capitalism “evil,” even when you strip away all the sweetheart deals with the government.
While his initial frustration with crony capitalism may be justified, while on Olbermann’s show, Moore completely failed to mention that General Electric, the company that keeps Olbermann on the air, received billions in bailout money last year. He also neglected to point out that Olbermann received a $3.5 million pay raise around the same time that taxpayers paid to keep General Electric afloat. (Olbermann regularly scolds corporate employees who receive bonuses from bailed out companies.)
Despite calls to put his money where his mouth is and return his own bonus, Olbermann has remained silent. And while Moore is usually so quick to attack anyone benefiting from government-backed corporate profits, he didn’t even mention his host’s own hypocrisy.
You see, to guys like Moore and Olbermann, it’s perfectly okay to make millions from taxpayers and capitalism, so long as it’s their bank account getting filled with the cash.

I'm not. When I was a Marxist in grad school, all my leftie friends and I knew Moore was a capitalist hypocrite. We didn't care. He said all the right things and hated all the right people. We let him slide b/c he was a useful tool. Apparently, he's become quite the wealthy useful tool.

When is Michael Moor going to point out that it was his like minded friends in Congress that created bad policy which took advantage of the Capitalist system that created the bailouts? Mr. Moore you are barking up the wrong tree. If you really want to make a difference, take a look at your own like minded friends and I promise you will find infinitely more scams, shams, and down right illegal activity to fill at least 20 or so movies. You could really be bank rolling then!

The Rotunded liberal is opposed to investments that are determined by private decision and mainly by competition in the private market. But he is not adverse to aquire and multiply his possessions through his own industry or craft. He try's to gain adherents by persuading them to a cause, that Capitalism is evil.
Unfortunately for the imbeciles that follow him, he is a person who acts in contradiction to his stated beliefs. The only thing that is not a sham about him is his lust for food. His habit for voracious eating and his known contacts with domesticated swine not yet sexually mature, he likes them on the wild side, has some of his adherents proclaiming that he is starting to resemble the pigs he cohorts with.
Every time he appears on T.V. lamenting the evils of Capitalism the butchers associations across the country express their anger that the demand for PORK plummets.
You don't understand. It's perfectly all right for Moore and Olbermann to keep any money they want – because they have good intentions. Their hearts are in the right place, and they're on the side of the angels.

It is getting to the point that someone needs to start an astroturf movement that will impress even Madame Pelosi. Time for a serious campaign against GE and all advertisers for MSNBC. That is the only thing they understand. We would need two big mouthed white guys to fill the roles of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, to stand outside MCNBC with bullhorns, to rally the rabble…………….

It’s a real shame. Before I knew about his political affiliation, I thought Keith Oberman and Dan Patrick were the funniest duo ever to grace the set at “Sportscenter.” Oberman made a chameo on an NFL show the other day and I couldn’t even watch. Just like Moore, capatilism is evil until it applies to their own fortune. Somehow, hypocrisy doesn’t seem to do this justice.

Funny, but it wasn't capitalism in it's true form that created the housing market crash – but a halt to capitalism by Barney Frank and friends that made banks loan to people who couldn't pay – oops…limiting capitalism causes a financial crisis? Perhaps it is time for James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles to get into the movie business and put Michael Moore in his place. Wouldn't it be fun to do an expose on Moore himself? Something tells me the slime ball has a few secrets of his own.
Either way, films to rebut Moore's delusional films would be quite entertaining to say the least.

I am not suprised one bit.. Olberman and fat boy are both hypocrites but this won't get reported anywhere else.. sad sad.
Did Moore even know about Olbermann's raise? Considering what I have read about the stale quality of Capitalism, I do not think Moore keeps up with current news that much. After all, it does take quite some time to keep studying Bush's speeches and statements for the hidden Satanic messages, then there are the "Cheney Days"….
