It’s always the little things that make me miss George W. Bush. Yes, his public profligacy gave us Obama, which in turn gave us the Tea Party. New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor’s book, The Obamas, makes me love him all the more. The book gushes a little much about Michelle Obama’s sense of style.
We learn, this, for instance:
[The First Lady] hired a wardrobe assistant; when she traveled abroad, she wanted to bring her own hair and makeup assistants; and to redecorate the private quarters of the White House, she passed over little-known designers in favor of Michael Smith, who had done houses for Steven Spielberg and Rupert Murdoch. (85)
(A few days after the inauguration we learn that Michael Smith had also redone the executive suite of John Thain, the fired CEO of Merrill Lynch, for $1.2 million after having gotten $20 billion bailout money.)
Congress typically sets aside $100,000 to help the president-elect and his family move in, but the Bushes used their own money instead and left their $200,000 in the White House bank accounts for the Obamas to blow.

Hell yes we miss him! Remember when we had a president that actually loved America? Bush did plenty of things that were wrong – way to much spending, never defending himself or his party, and oh so many Nixon-esque attempts to make the liberals and the media love him (medicare part D, no child left behind, compassionate conservatism…) But at least he wasn't an America-hating marxist who lived like a king on the taxpayers dime!

I'm feeling the same thing… and have been for quite awhile. The only words of wisdom and hope that I can offer… is that the majority of the states are in the hands of conservatives who insist that our voting not be corrupted, suppressed or bought. That is where the real power lay… In our states. If we lose that… we are truly done.
We know that the left will try to fraud their way to four more years of Obama. It's up to us to make sure that the vote is true.
We are our only last chance.
I also have major concerns that we are letting a few starting states determine who will be our candidate. That needs to be fixed also. We are not living in the days when it took days and weeks for news to travel.

Just got this off of Drudge…appears like it was a big secret….I don't trust any of the Bushes anymore!..They seem to be too chummy with someone that does nothing but blame Georgie for every problem in this country…Just doesn't make any sense to me that they would go visit under any circumstances!!!…And to top it off, Daddy Bush is quite chummy with his "adopted" son, Billy Bob Clinton…
I miss having a man in office that respects the office of the presidency and the constitution and just doesn't use it to push his socialist agenda and as paybacks for his idiot friends, comrade. Bush was far from perfect, but there has to be something better than this. This man has taken this country deep into his delusional socialist hole that is about as far away from the constitution as it could be. BTW at least Bush received congressional approval for going to war unlike the current president which is actually a role of congress. This is so unlike the power grab that is going on in the executive office currently.

I would have much rather he come out and admitted that America had just experienced a coordinated and organized economic terrorist attack and said he would do what he could to keep things afloat until the next President and Congress, which was about to be elected, decided which path to go forward.
In Bush's defense, what little can be waged on the fair point you make SP, is that Congress DOES control the money and it was a Democrat Congress in control at the time. I do so which that W would have continued his attitude and leadership of his first term into and through his second. Sadly, he did not. Put that together with his complete failure to secure the border in a time of war and there is plenty of legitimate criticism to wage against the man.
What I just can;t quite understand is why he did so much standing down on other points he was hammered on. From the Katrina bait Blanco put out trying o get him to commit impeachable offenses to the fact that even the UN voted to admit that 687 was not upheld and abided by, right down to the attack that came in September of 08, he could have served this nation far better had he stood up and been more forthright and honest about what was going on.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a President who would just be honest?

History will smile on the legacy of George Bush. He was a fine and honorable President. Compared to the P.O.S. we have now, I miss him so much.

Their genuine concern for the well being of America's military.
