The Evil Empire Strikes Back: Google ‘Flags’ Website Skeptical of Global Warming

Climate ’skeptic’ website ICECAP posted this item noting Google’s latest gambit in global warming activism, which includes bringing on board as an advisor an academic whose name and address pop up with some frequency in the ClimateGate emails.
Apparently in response, Google has flagged ICECAP’s website with this warning, discouraging traffic:
ICECAP host Joe D’Aleo, the first meteorologist at the Weather Channel before that operation sold out to the alarmist industry, brought this to my attention and assures me this warning was not the case until now. He also attests that the site is not compromised. We just have a co-incidence of challenge followed by inaccuracy, is all.
So not only are the Google crowd global warming rent-seekers looking to rob Peter (you, the taxpayer and ratepayer) to pay their Paul, they are activists who fit in very well with their chosen crowd.
One more good reason to go elsewhere for your searching.

If the globe is in a warming trend, as happens quite naturally when it's not in a cooling trend, we should be using that to our advantage. Longer growing seasons and a larger area of arable land should be used to help feed starving populations. Greater CO2 concentrations will also help in that effort.
One nuclear carrier off Japan is able to convert 400,000 gallons of sea water into potable water every day using a miniature reactor. Using our technology along with the natural occurrence of warming, we can "green the deserts."

I don't know what this post is talking about because I just went to google and searched for every possible permuation for the ICECAP site and no flags come up. Direct search, in direct search, i see the ICECAP site but no warning.

Also, BTW, to say that global warming exists based on 40 years of the 4.5 billion years the earth has been around is mundane. Its like saying because the temperature goes from 50 degrees at 8AM to 70 degrees at 2PM there is proof that global warming exists. Stupidity.

Stopped using Google. I noticed the certain "quality" of search waning.
Google is investing 5 billion into offshore wind infrastructure. They take controvercial positions. It's nothing new.
Now, how do you know Gates isn't peppering up Bing by steering search results into advocacy for school funding?
Gates and the Google execs are closer to the kind of engineer DNA that can pick up subjects without a lot of political spew. Its part of the reason why so many actual scientists see carbon accumulation as a problem, and why many of you folks are holed up chasing astronomers to find an alternative view.

I don't think he was saying mankind could change the climate. I think JohnK144 is saying, why not take advantage of the natural climate change in conjunction with modern technology.
John has a point. Warming trends can help cooler areas in regard to farming, and if we have the technology to dump potable water in the deserts, then why not do it? And it is true that increased CO2 aids in plant growth.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could discuss the details of issues, and perhaps help to make the world a better place, instead of a knee-jerk rejection of anything that isn't part of some climate change disaster narrative?

google is the epitome of crony capitalism. If people had a better technical understand of what exactly they do, they would shun them like lepers. As a network guy, I can say without a doubt, in my opinion, that google is the greatest danger to personal privacy and individual liberty we face. All the Orwell, 1984, Big Brother stuff that we talk about without really believing it, google is doing it. The work they're doing with the government involving data storage, monitoring, and behavior prediction would give you cold sweats. The pay off is stuff like net neutrality, which will set google on the pedestal above all in all things internet. Crony capitalism google provides the government with the technical infrastructure and ability and in return are given laws which hobble their competition.
Sorry bout' the rant, but if you're smart, you'll uninstall your Google tool bar, stop using their search engines and services, and avoid them at all costs.
Google's decision to pander to Chinese oppression of dissidents certainly qualifies as "a lot of political spew". And "actual scientists" would never, ever, seek to censor contrary viewpoints. That's strictly a political strategy.

You had better be prepared to show a better illustration that REFUTES the obvious correltation between CO2 PPM growth and the industrialization of the past 125 years. You need to dissprove the methodology of retrieving air samples from the ice cores that have shown us we are having a CO2 blow out.

And yes seppeper yahoo, bing, dogpile show no such warning. The site is managed on a secure dedicated server by a reputable large hosting firm and has had no denial of service attacks or hacks.
Ok, what's the sensitivity of the earth's atmosphere to newly introduced CO2 that goes outside the feedback loop of natural non-anthropogenic effects (like volcanos).
There are estimated to be ~3 trillion tons of CO2 in the earth's atmosphere. Volcanos erupt, plants and the ocean take it back, but what of the extra 25 billion tons, again, every year, that we throw in the mix? Its measurable, and no matter how much we are supposed to take away from the East Anglia debacle, you can't prove it does nothing any better than they proved we'll fry.
I have been using BING for over six months.

So what is the solution to reduce the CO2 level?
Do we limit the number of animals allowed to live on the planet?
Do we limit the number of human beings allowed to live at one time on this planet?
Do we regress our civilization back to the earlier 1900's?

While I've previously started using services other than Google because of their embrace of government, I'm not sure Bing is necessarily the answer either. After all, Bing is a product of Microsoft whose biggest shareholder Bill Gates recently went on the record saying any other government's socialized health care system was better than the U.S. system.
So, do we support a company (GOOG) that's in bed with the Obama administration and is evil in so many ways, or another company (MSFT) that supports Obama's ultimate goal of a nationalized, single-payer healthcare system?
We're damned if we do and damned if we don't. You can't even use Yahoo's search because it is partnered with Bing. There are a ton of engines out there, but honestly they're not as good as either Google or Bing. While I chafe at using either, I also want to find what it is I'm looking for. The smaller outfits don't really have the technology yet to produce the algorithms necessary to do the most effective searches.

Well said. I was almost done reading and would have posted the same information. Most big business are looking for the governments favor. When we take that ability of Congress and the President away from them and let the people decide who wins and looses based upon individual preferences for how they spend their money, we will get closer to ridding ourselves of a noose around our individual liberty and closer to the pure truth.
It amazes me that only for political power reasons do the people who support global warming (man made) make the theory a reality; while ignoring other theory, such as "Snow Ball Earth", "Solar Activity", "magnetic pole changes" and other theories. Snow Ball earth theorizes with supporting evidence from geology that at one time we we covered in ice. And or the sun has more influence on temperature than the CO2 which makes up 0.039% of the atmosphere and is essential for plants to live and prosper.
I guess the multiple "Ice Ages" which we have also chronicled existed well before the beginning of the "Industrial Revolution" do not show us that the earth's processes are far more powerful than what man can bring to the table.
