Census Reminder: Most Obama Jobs are Temporary Jobs

That is something that sounds a little weedy but is really quite simple, a failure to homogenize the data. This practice is employed in order to make soaring claims of jobs “created” from taking taxpayer money and mandating something politically desired. The truth is that the jobs (briefly) created are a fraction of the number claimed.
Consider what we have uncovered in the latter, which I detail in Power Grab: How Obama’s Green Policies Will Steal Your Freedom and Bankrupt America in a discussion that reminds us as well how “green jobs” even more closely resemble census (and of course “stimulus”) jobs in that they are temporary jobs, “bubble” jobs existing only so long as the government (taxpayer) transfer of wealth continues:
“But the most glaring similarity [between 'green jobs' and 'stimulus jobs'], and indeed feature of ‘green jobs’ is that they are temporary. Before you find comfort in this, recall that the unions don’t stand for such notions, and the enactment of green jobs schemes ensures further infusions of taxpayer money into the bubble to make the make-work permanent.
We saw how some jobs supposedly created under the ’stimulus’ actually reflected funding of a position that lasted, in some cases, only a week. The reason you hear of enormous numbers of projected jobs is because those pushing them do not ‘homogenize the data.’ Homogenizing, or harmonizing, the claimed green jobs figures annualizes them, translating the thousands of days-, weeks- or months-long gigs (i.e., ‘jobs created’) into the equivalent of fulltime jobs. So a sexy claim of half a million jobs, which are sixty-day installation contracts, is homogenized at around 75,000 ‘jobs created.’
But make-work and mandating that federal buildings get new caulk is not creating positive economic activity, or growth, as few if any of those jobs will exist in a year without a doubling down on the subsidy just to keep the wards of the state going. Regardless of its intellectual integrity, this is a favorite game of the statist set hell-bent on pretending the state is the source of wealth creation and good times.

All of which is to say that the same crowd is using the same tricks to fool the same people into accepting the same agenda of massively transferring wealth and liberties from you to the state.

However, BO and his trolls will most likely stretch out this temp employment until after Nov to gain the vote for his socialist buddies. If the figures stay low, the dims can claim the labor market is improving. Otherwise, they will do a continuous hire fire scenario since labor stats only indicate hires. Actual figures, if all factors are included, stands at a more realistic rate of 17 to 20% nationwide.
Why would an employer hire a full time worker right now…This administrations economic policies are to drive the private sector into the ground…I hope Nov will bring about a real change for the economy..The President and his slimebag crew does not have a clue…..
Further proof that this administration has no real clue on how to create "real" or permanent jobs in the private sector. Unfortunately they are making things worse, the lack of an articulated plan has business owners guessing on the future, i.e. excessive regulations and taxation, and therefore not hiring.
As one who works in a business and hires sales people, it is a employers based economy. There are a lot of good unemployed sales people and those who are hiring are ridding themselves of the weak and replacing them with those who are stronger. The first question I ask those who interview is how long they have been looking for work. The average is about 8 months.
This government hiring will do nothing to give us a real economic recovery. It seems obama must know this, but ignores these facts and is destined to completely kill America as we know it.
at least Bill Clinton's DOT COM jobs were somewhat in the private sector and appeared,….
more than once every ten years.
As for these "Green Jobs" that are headed our way,………..
they will mostly be as a result of government mandates (i.e., Green Building Codes)
and we all know how government madates help the economy.

It will be years for the public sector to weed out the slugs of life who attempt to get hired with no job skills but the limited government work skills acquired from the psuedo jobs. There will be lawsuits up the wazoo and senior leadership will have to hammer the idiotic HR fools read through the falsified experience resumes. Many will be trying to suck up their way into the real government jobs that do exist. What an absolute debacle this fooish REGIME lead by Barack Hussein Obama has foisted off on the American Taxpayer and those who only think they have a golden ticket off the plantation they have so long languished on. How much credit is being attained now by the welfare teat suckers who have a job now? Hopefully NONE. But we all know how foolish lenders were forced to be in the past. RINSE & REPEAT.

Obama and his buddies for the most part have little or no experience in the private sector. Most don't know what a real job is, except that it is a number that can be manipulated in ways that they think make them look like experts. It's not working.

I'm not entirely sure that these jobs are temporary. For all we know the Obama administration is probably scheming to make sure they stay hired to pad the unemployment stats and pay them to sit around or something. The Govt isn't exactly known for having its workers be efficient anyway.

Wow! Great I am glad somebody pointed this out!! I have noticed this for months! Most people thought when the "stimulus bill" was introduced it's purpose was to stimulate the private sector, not government. They were decieved by Obama. Its only intent was to grow both Federal and State governemnts.
Let's see. He blames people for problems but does nothing to fix them. . He doesn't work. He likes to go to shows and listen to music. He believes everybody should live off the government at the expense of rich white people. He plays sports. Hail to the stereotype in chief.

Ten years ago, the number of 2000 census hires was cut by 225,000 in June followed by big census layoffs for the next 3-months. Expect a similar negative jobs pattern in 2010. This is great timing for a surge in unemployment. By November, folks will be even more angry than we are today.
Census jobs are just a reminder of the 1930s and FDR's failed "Works Progress Administration (WPA)." Other than Baracky's looting of the treasury, socialistic engineering accomplished zero in the 30s, nor with massive Keynesian spending will anything get accomplished now in 2010.
