Rich countries say all weather is now their fault and vow to spend billions on uneconomic, inefficient and intermittent energy sources regardless of their merits or performance as penance and to show their seriousness of purpose in feeling really, really bad about the whole thing they alone talked themselves into. China volunteers to make the machines for us because, without absurd “green” policies of the sort causing energy prices to rise so high that seniors burn books to stay warm — in fact, China rejects the Kyoto agenda precisely because it has sworn off of that sort of poverty and knows what would keep them there — they can do it more cheaply.
And then they go to Copenhagen and hold us up for billions in new, “climate aid”, with more than a whiff of reparations about it because, after all, our government aided and abetted that line of argument.
So please don’t be surprised by China’s reaction when confronted, like the rest of our hemisphere, by yet another severe winter of the sort RFK Jr. and others swore were a thing of the past thanks to Man-made global warming. That reaction is to claim that the severe winter is instead further evidence of the same phenomenon that, erm, supposedly made such things extinct. Because to not say so might threaten the billions in “climate aid” and windmill sales.
It just might work. Because, you know, we’re like that now, willing to believe everything that happens is further evidence of a theory that nothing can disprove or even cause a rethink (“faith”, anyone?). And we have useful idiots willing to also say anything to aid in the cause.
This is how countries can make themselves look so incredibly simple to the world while laboring to appear so sophisticated.

As to global warming it's heads I win , tails you lose. Now please excuse me while I thaw out my frozen pipes.
I've been eagery awaiting the return of global warming for the last four days, so we could get back above the freezing point. Or just think, if these are the temperatures with global warming, think how cold we would be without it?
Meanwhile, the entire northern hemisphere is in the death grip of runaway Gore Effect.

Okay we all agree that oil and coal are 20th century energy producing sources and that wind and solar have the potential of being the 21st century energy sources.
My question is this:
If the efficiency of solar and wind energy production were tripled in the foreseeable future, how many solar panels (area) or wind mills would be required to provide just 20% of the energy we now (rightfully) consume ?

Has anyone else noticed that the environmental con-artist have changed their slogan from Global Warming to Climate Change. This way when their warming "science" is debunked and the environment actually cools, they can say that it's the cooling that is now mans fault. It doesn't matter if the temps go up or down, they will find ways to take tax dollars and "study" mans involvement in global environmental changes. What they don't seem to realize is that this big world we live on has done it's own thing, environmentally, longer than man has been around. It will continue to warm and cool despite anything we do or "study". It's all a big con game!

We have six to eight inches of Global Warming headed our way tomorrow, with ten degree temperatures.
As various international climate scientists, including IPCC authors have been pointing out for many months, we are 10 years into the 30 year cooling phase of a 60 year cycle. It will continue to get cooler for 20 years before warming up for 30 years, just like the two prior 60 year cycles. This is all dependent on two sunspot cycles and various oceanic currents.

Of course China did this to sell the crap windmills to the lefties. In addition China started building nuclear power plants, coal to liquids refineries(Fischer-Trposche) and drilling for oil the world over. They even contracted with Canada for oil sands oil, because we didn't want it.
The windmills are 'for show' window dressing. China is building coal fired plants at about one a week for usage.
Meanwhile, England is rapidly running out of heating fuel. We are trying our level best to emulate England.

Isn't it interesting how China capitalizes on opportunities but does not follow the philosophy. They eagerly build wind and solar equiptment but do not use them. They build several coal fired power plants each week and provide moderate diologue about global warming. They plan to drill off our S. E. coast but ask that the U. S. provide more funds to control the global warming threat. China will survive the enegy threat; will we?

No, we don't all agree. I happen to think wind and solar will never amount to crap. In fact, there is probably more energy potential in crap. I have been an AGW/Climate change skeptic since 1992 because I am able to find plenty of info out there to dispel the myth/hoax. There is also plenty of info that wind and solar infrastructure are so energy and pollution intensive to create that it is highly questionable for return on investment.
I knew we were screwed about ten years ago when people figured out ways to profit from this scam. I have been around long enough to know that our air and water are cleaner than they were 30 years ago. Weather fluctuates, the "climate" has not changed. For some this is about power, others strictly money, and probably for most it is a sorry substitute for God or the strength of an independent mind.

The Chinese absolutely have no intention of moving away from coal in the near term, and they have no interest in accepting limits on the amount of carbon they pump into the atmosphere and it is a serious threat to our environment.
What I was trying to say is they want to sell the world green technology like solar turbines, electric car parts, windmill electric generators etc. Now they want to manufacture this stuff with power produced by coal fired plants. So I think we are talking about two separate issues here. We need to move away from fossil fuels to reduce the affects of warming. We also need to commit to competing in the green global economy of the future.

You may be new to the discussion, but "climate change" has been the universally accepted term for global warming for sometime now. In fact, to coordinate the research effort, the UN created the IPCC over 20 years ago.

The term "global warming" is a media creation, but more recently used by climate change deniers like yourself to confuse the public every time it gets cold in the winter.
The northern hemisphere is in the grips of winter. The southern hemisphere is experiencing summer. Climate change theory doesn't change the tilt of the earth's axis or its orbital path around the sun. But it does predict weather extremes within each season due to AGW.

Small changes can have huge cumulative affect over time. If we commit to switching to new technologies now and stop building coal fired plants we will have changed the face of energy production in 50 years. I don't know why anyone in the west believes anything that the Chinese Government people say that they will do. It's all a joke. But there are countless articles saying, "Look how the Chinese are doing it. They are smart." They aren't doing anything that is not in their best interest. Naturally.

Well here is something to chew on for all you global cooling deniers out there. Real scientists will tell you, by far the largest factor in the earths temperature is the Sun. For all the IPCC worshippers that would be that big bright thing in the sky.

Last I checked, separation of church and state was the law of the land. Otherwise we would be teaching the story in Genesis in science class. We need to be wary of China because of all those Chinamen. But their form of government is an anchor tied to their waist… sort of like living in a permanent recession. If they ever begin to promote the free exchange of ideas then you need to start to worry. They are far more likely to suffer the fate of the former Soviet Union than surpass the U.S. in economic output. You can only double your productivity so many times until you run up against natural limits of resources and infrastructure.
They are here and generating electricity as we speak. They give us an unlimited source of economic, pollution free energy and are majestic to watch (in my opinion). They also create good jobs.

What, suddenly righty is worried about environmental toxins? Only when they conflict with your world view. Left up to you people we would still be putting lead in our gasoline and putting out fires on the Ohio River.
We should do the same. And it is in our best interest to stop burning fossil fuels to limit our dependence on foreign oil and curb the affects of AGW.
