Global Warming’s ‘Blue Dress’ Moment?
by Christopher C. HornerI am not able to fully digest all of the relevant material just this moment, but check out what Anthony Watts at “Watts Up With That” among others have posted. Anthony is a meteorologist who blew the lid on the scandalous placement of official U.S. government thermometers – even movement to — asphalt pads, Arizona parking lots, next to hot air vents, above barbecue grills, and so on with the convenient result of a warming bias.
I will put all of this in full context as more analysis of the revelations and their meaning emerge, but just know this was described to me as “the closest thing you’re ever going to come to a ’smoking gun.’”
If you’re not a global warming geek, the point of the material is that we have apparent — and I only say apparent at this point — written admissions of cooking the books, among other nastiness, by the leading names in the global warming alarmist movement.
Now, none of us can attest to the validity of what has been posted on a Russian server, allegedly by someone on the inside who has had enough (nor can we even be sure of how it was obtained, though it purports to be non-classified data held by a purely public agency subject to freedom of information/transparency laws, even if that agency continues to stonewall requests for access to the data). The alarmists would like nothing better than to pull one over on skeptics, since that keeps them from arguing substance and, say, revealing their data, codes and methods. But I’m told it’s almost 61 megabytes of files, and after a few days of scrutiny by the kind of people who would know, appears to them to be legitimate. And also very revealing, both the data and what are represented to be comments and admissions by our alarmist pals.
If legit, this apparently devastating series of revelations will be very hard for the media to ignore. I didn’t say impossible, they’re fully vested partners in the global warming industry, as catastrophism sells. But so does scandal, and this appears to be the makings of a very big one. Imagine this sort of news coming in the field of AIDS research.. Then reflect that the taxpayer spends more on climate-related research than on the entire suite of AIDS programs, far beyond drug research.

Even if true I am not sure it matters one bit, for many people this is religion, not an investigation.
A scandal indeed. I believe it was Michael Crichton who suggested that our cities have actually heated up because of all of the industry, asphalt, buildings, etc. that have been created over the past century. He showed data that proved that cities were getting hotter, but the amount of heat this added to the globe was infinitesimally small.
Apparently, there have been "scientists" who are using these warmer cities to boost the world's heat index. Nothing surprises me when it comes to global warmists.
I can't wait to see how this unfolds. I'm guessing media will try pretty hard not to cover it, and it will go down in the books as not 100% provable, therefore false, as far as MSM is concerned.
I really hope it at least helps publicize the crookedness of the whole alarmist scare to those that just accept what their politicians tell them over and over until the "it must be true" moment.
The fact that our politicians are close to (the House already approved it) issuing the biggest economy and job damaging piece of legislation our country has ever seen (Cap & Trade) in the name of convenient science that they had manipulated to suit their needs is just disgusting.
I hate to sound over the top, but severely damaging your own country in the name of a lie is bordering on treason in my book. And they try to act like it's no big deal.
If Co2 emissions is the major cause of global warming and 95% of the world's CO2 emissions comes from the oceans, and another 2.5 % from livestock, what kind of freakin moron thinks that man's 2.5% contribution has any effect on this so called phenomenon.
BTW we all know CO2 levels rise because of heat. Not the other way around.

I always have thought that belief in man-caused global-warming is the height of arrogance. Even more arrogant is the belief that by eschewing plastic bags in the grocery store, you are "saving" the planet. No, you're not, Mr. Self-absorbed. The planet has survived for billions of years, and has endured far more extreme temperature fluctuations that pre-dated the engine… even man itself. How coincidental that temps have declined over the last decade…. at the same time that the sun was in a minimum. What? You mean to tell me temperatures might just be related to the sun? Wow, that sounds just plain crazy.
Get bent alarmists. And while you're doing that, learn a little about the difference between scientific inquiry and forcing research to conform to your preconceived conclusions.

What's scary is that, regardless of the evidence, so many Americans know so little about it that Congress could still pass it. The Health Care debate is something most Americans at least learn a little about and take a side in. Global warming is something no American challenges until someone really convinces them to look into it.

Evidence of that was when gore was recently confronted by a journalist who asked about data showing the Polar Bear population had increased and should be removed from the endangered list. One was working with data, the other with feelings. Their studies on climate change are just cover for their movement to cap and tax. They're just as happy without the burden of facts.

Oh and actually the data was/is supposed to be readily accessible to any school/university without having to litigate such yet wasn't being made available. Why? Because Steve McIntyre was able to readily disprove their results via the methodology employed and that was not to be allowed. In one of the emails there is a back and forth discussion by the lab coat disciples of Gore where "destroying the data" is preferable to Steve McIntyre getting his hands on it. Destruction of historically significant data by a "scientist" should be unthinkable… should but sadly isn't where Global Warming is concerned.
Gore has just admitted to Newsweek that studies show CO2 contributes only 40% to global warming. He also acknowledged that this could complicate efforts to build a political consensus around the need to limit carbon emissions.
So, we need a massive carbon trading scheme to limit 2.5% of the 40% that contributes to GW.?

Formulate a hypothesis
Design an experiment to test the hypothesis
Update hypothesis and retest as necessary.
Modern Scientific method
Obtain Grant money.
Determine the Political Argument you wish to make.
Write your conclusions to support your Politcial Argument
Design your experiment to gather the data which supports your conclusion.
Gather Data
Discard data (No more than 65 or 70%) or apply proper angular momentum to support your conclusion.
Get more grant money.

Right on dude! Any proposition that is not subject to question is what "scientists" regard as a "non-falsifiable hypothesis" which disqualifies it from being recognized as "science". Any "absolute" not open to question or "falsification" is regarded as religious dogma.

I heard an audio clip of Algore today I believe on the Beck radio show. Gore was spouting how the interior of the earth was MILLIONS of degrees(as in really hot). I believe it is about 7,000Celcius.

When one is engaged in saving the planet it is moral and legal to invent statistics and data. After all, the ignorant masses are the problem and manipulating them, for now, is a necessary chore. Soon we will begin thinning the herd.
