Grande Gobierno: Obama Uses Feds to Protect His ‘Green Jobs’ Fantasy
by Christopher C. HornerOn numerous occasions, to tout his own agenda President Obama told America to “take a look at what’s happening in countries like Spain” to witness his model for a “green jobs” economy. Well, a team of Spaniards produced an academic study, officially of King Juan Carlos University in Madrid, which revealed that Spain’s scheme has proven a disaster.

In response, Obama’s administration provided a lesson in how Big Government can be abused when its officials are angered and embarrassed, turning its institutions on a private individual, even a foreign academic whose offense was to produce scholarly research about his own nation’s policy failures.
Here is what happened. The Spanish “green jobs” study received substantial play in the U.S. media and gained favorable attention in the Wall Street Journal’s U.S., Europe and Asia editions, among other outlets. It came up in a White House press conference, embarrassing spokesman Robert Gibbs who boasted how he disagreed with the study and its conclusions while admitting he had not read it.
The rest of administration’s three-fold response was in sum highly troubling. The benign second step was to substitute, without missing a beat, Denmark for Spain in Obama’s ritual “look at what’s happening in…” litany of our environmental superiors (though that experiment, too, has been defrocked). Then things got ugly.
Someone in the administration actually dispatched a taxpayer-funded agency, the Department of Energy through its National Renewable Energy Laboratories (NREL), to produce a white paper slamming the study, providing the organized Left a risible tool to wave away the inconvenient. But the two young activists who wrote the paper merely further embarrassed the administration with their flailing complaints: the Spanish team failed to speculate in the absence of official data, and eschewed an economic model designed some time ago far to our east for central planners in favor of a real-world “opportunity cost” model used by people who invest their own money. Thus, spaketh our government, the study employs “non-traditional methodology” and is unworthy of consideration. Ahem.
Professor Dr. Gabriel Calzada, who led the research, visited Washington again this past week, issuing invitations in advance to all relevant federal offices to publicly debate or privately discuss the issue of Spain’s experience to which, we were serially lectured, we are to look for guidance. He was never given the courtesy of a response, let alone the satisfaction of a public contest of respective views.
Now consider two of the Spanish government’s three responses to this study which caused so much heartburn for the Obama administration: rhetorically, they slammed it (and the authors personally), while at the same time officially affirming it. In its April 30 Royal Decree, responding to the analyzed disaster, the Spanish government stated its electricity “rate deficit”, mainly caused by its scheme to push windmills and solar panels, “is deeply harming the system and puts at risk not only the financial situation of the electric sector companies´ but also sustainability of the system itself. This disadjustment turns out to be unsustainable and has grave consequences since it deteriorates the security and financial capacity of the investments necessary for providing electricity at the levels of quality and security the Spanish society demands.”
Translated, that means: yeah, what he said. Just so you fully grasp: the White House engaged a federal agency to (lamely) slam a study by foreign academics about a foreign government’s policies.
This brings us to today, reading that the International Energy Agency, a purportedly non-activist, non-partisan clearing house to which we are to turn for objective advice, has inexplicably published a rather odd praise for Spain’s glorious ‘green’ achievements. Spain, by the way, has increased its CO2 emissions 50% over Kyoto’s 1990 baseline from which they were to reduce said emissions. Can’t afford much more progress, guys.
The Spanish government’s third response – as reported this weekend in El Confidencial, though Prof. Calzada had told me about the numerous overtures as they were occurring – was to demand through its Education Minister that the university rescind the study that was embarrassing so many officials. This sleaze was a private affair, too unseemly even for the Socialist Zapatero government to try publicly, despite its radical green base openly decrying the academics’ “treason” for embarrassing Spain after its wonders were touted by El Uno.
The university has refused, as the paper meets all relevant requirements for an academic paper (unlike the U.S. government’s response, incidentally), and has been favorably received in the academic community, of all places.
Not that Spain’s behavior has been exemplary, but we should expect far better here. Team Obama are presumably done coming after the study and its authors, whose saving grace appears to be that they are not American citizens in these curious times. And I have no words to describe the feelings engendered when typing that sentence.

Obama admitted Cap & trade is detrimental to economic growth in his U.N. speech last week; “Those wealthy nations that did so much to damage the environment in the 20th century must accept our obligation to lead…
any effort to curb carbon emissions must include the fast-growing carbon emitters who can do more to reduce their air pollution without inhibiting growth…It is hard to change something as fundamental as how we use energy. It’s even harder to do so in the midst of a global recession. Certainly, it will be tempting to sit back and wait for others to move first.”
I hate to disagree with you Cowboy, but this scam far exceeds anything perpetrated at any time, in any society, by any government. This so pervasive globally that the FRAUD is raised higher than even any religious fervor. To attack their faulty premise is to be scorned and ridiculed. There has never been a more insidious fraud and as true with any good piece of propaganda, they start with a universally accepted truth. ie: pollution is bad. Anyone trying to confront this presmise is labeled as one who supports polluters.
GLOBAL RE-DISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH IS HERE,,,, NOW
my my my funny how these green nut from gore the bore on up refuse too have a debate with anyone who disagrees with them a long time ago i figured out people like that they wont debate because they can back up with facts what they claim to be ture period
meant to say cant back up with facts sorry bout that
I didnt read it, but I guarntee you if it agrees with our agenda it's right, if it disagrees it's wrong.
Sounds like Obama's approach to health care all over again
Leftist Decision Tree
1. Will this deliver power or money to us
2. Are we going to get caught
3. It we get caught can we survive or shift blame to the messenger
IMPORTANT!!
Don't take your eyes off congress / senate., monitor govtrack.us, and other tracking sites.
It's obvious that POTUS waited until now to confront Iran, delayed decision on Afghanistan, gave controversial speeches at U.N., the push for imigration AMNESTY, racial speech at the CBC, and many other distractions…. to slide toxic policy in under the radar, or at least with less resistance.
HE IS OVERWHELMING THE SYSTEM!
DON'T BE FOOLED!

DON'T BE DISTRACTED, CHANNEL YOUR OUTRAGE TO ACTION!
Im not a Bush hater but I think the high oil and gas prices of last year were the biggest scams ever ran on the American people . That in itself started the downfall and everything else just started crumbling because of it .
I always said Bush came from big oil , he looked out for them for 8 years and went back to big oil when he left office .
He is still a far cry better than the clown that took his place !
Van Jones said it himself:
"The slogan of 'green jobs' is the banner under which all of the pro-democracy forces can gather for the next big assaults."
This implies to me that "green jobs" is essentially a wedge for driving home the "pro-democracy" agenda and not merely an end unto itself.
Yep.
Like answering the question to the judge,"Do you still beat your wife"……..
It is a no win scenario, and will plunge the world into further recession. What is worse, colleges have preached the green mantra, and have taught it now for a generation. Consequently we now have multi-millions of green zealots who are cross pollinated with Liberal Fascist Militants. That is quite the combination to confront. We only thought Islama-fascists were zealots; just wait until these berkley bred psychotics become old enough to position themselves in high office.
Van Jones would be a prime example, he was in the vanguard……………

Nice try! We should / would have the ability to control oil prices if only we used our own resources. That said I have no problem developing alternative / clean sources of energy but not at the expense of the consumer or tax-payers. If all we did was develop our own KNOWN reserves, the deficit would disappear and our unemployment numbers would drop, and we would not be funding governments that hate us, except our own governement of course.
What about Obama using the fed census workers to control the census results, or even worse? Should we still be on the lookout for census workers in our neighborhoods?
Then don't blame Bush for rising energy prices. Using the left mantra about Bush and Cheney coming from big oil simply proves ignorance. It proves the MSM has etched that theme into your mind.
For thirty years, there has not been a new refinery built in the US. Why? Because of the EPA. For thirty years domestic drilling and production has declined. Why? Because of the onerous environmental lobby. If you want to point the finger of blame, point it where it belongs, at the Nancy Pelosi's; Ted Kennedy's and Harry Reids of the political world. Point you finger Greenpeace, the Sierra Club, the Nature Conservancy. Point you finger where it belongs, at the Liberal Fascist Militnants who have indoctrinated school and college children for a generation now.
Here is a good article that might enlighted you.

Oh dont get me wrong , I dont agree with anything obama has done to this country ! ( Notice I said to and not for )But you must admit those high gas prices hurt a large number of people , WORKING PEOPLE that had no choice but to buy it .
Im sure the things coming down the pipes will be worse than anything we have seen to date .
This administration gets creepier and creepier every day. Creating false documents to prove facts wrong? Is this not impeachable?
I posted this last week on the thread "Who isn't Qualified to Speak on Global Warming".
It warrants posting it here:
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/288163...
The American Public is sooooooooo gullible. All of this, courtesy of the Big Advertising and PR Firms on Madison Avenue, Newww Yorkkkkkk………..
If it says "Green" and costs extra, chances are, it's not green.
Stop it! Al Gore said, "…end of discussion!" He can't be wrong even as his ass is freezing! Don't you guys get it…Gore, Obama, Chavez, Castro know best what is good for THEM!
Halliburton ???
Similarly, look at all the nuclear plants that have been built in the last 30 years. You won't find one in the United States, even though we push for other countries to have all the nuclear energy they can stomach. It's good enough for Iran, but too dangerous for America.
What's the story on the picture of the windmill blowing up?
Funny. I am strangely heartened by this piece. Notice the next to last paragraph. The university stood by the paper! I can't imagine that happening here. (Well, I can't imagine the paper actually being published here, but that's another matter.) An institution of higher learning defending the work of its scholars when the work becomes politically unpopular. What a concept!
Rejoice fellow Americans! Somewhere on our planet, independent thought lives!
Can you say GE, GE is in deeper than Halliburton could ever have dreamt. GE gets in on the Health Care, the banking bailout, the 'green' energy, the MSDNC, and god knows what else. This collusion is greater than any previous industry/government spooning buddies there ever was.
OMG there is a "GREEN PARTY ' in CAL. they are trying to get people elected to office WE are under marshal law as of last night ? Nancy did it ?
Sonny, if you want to debate me, don't come unarmed. For you to merely say one word, for you to say "Haliburton" further proves your ignorance. Come now, back up your mouth, substantiate your point, tell me something about Halliburton. Tell me something about Halliburton that the average person who has NOT been indoctrinated by the MSM would not know. Can you tell me what Halliburton does, can you tell me how they started, where they started, what their Corporate history is? Can you tell me one thing without going to Google of Wikipedia for your sound bites? Further, you state in your original post: "I always said Bush came from big oil , he looked out for them for 8 years and went back to big oil when he left office."
You are wrong again on both counts. Bush did not come from big oil. He came from a little turd of a company called Harken Energy. Further, in 2001 the Senate and the House blocked and defeated his energy plan.
Consequently, you have tried in vain to make three points, and struck out each time. Would you like to discuss NASCAR? I know nothing about it, so perhaps you would do better debating that.
The BIG LIE that even the Dems are not going to discuss: If the Green energy happens, and going with the wind turbines, not only will it take forever (more than the ten years they argue to bring oil on-line) but once completed the Environuts will block the easements needed to run the power lines to the windmills. Where is Don Quixote when you need him?
They fail. Probably made in Detroit……..
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=you+tube+windmil...
good point… i meant to give you a "thumbs up," but my cursor jumped and i gave you a thumbs down… sorry about that.
In another year, you won't even be able to buy a regular incandescent light bulb.
We should also remember that oil is a globally traded commodity, and it is traded in u.s. dollars. So, when our dollar tanks and loses value like it has, oil naturally becomes more expensive. Just another aspect to figure in.
Sorry , I too have better things to do than sit and watch cars go around in a circle .
made by GE!
Don Quixote is taking Dulcinea for a pony ride on Rocinante. They are scouting sites for wind turbines. It is rumored that the Ol' Don is going to replace Van Jones as Green Czarina……
Thank you for making this point. I just saw Hillary on tv saying that Iran has a right to nuclear power… and Joe Biden (i still can't believe this guy is our VP… when's the last time he was right about anything?) said that china can build all the coal plants they want, but the u.s. won't be allowed to build any more.
wtf is going on. the whole world has a right to produce their own energy, but these morons want to tie our hands and limit us to wind and solar… and then the eco nuts will throw up law suit after law suit to prevent the transmission lines from being built. Its pure insanity.
Well Said,
Obama will loan to Drill in Brazil, but not for Companies here to develop jobs for US workers, WHY
to PAY off George Soros, who funded non-profit groups to get Obama elected… Enough is Enough
http://www.drudge.com/news/124299/us-loans-brazil...
This Brazil company has also made a deal with Cuba to drill in the Gulf., not far from where the Democrates won't let American companies drill.
Now this is a CROC of sh_t plastered in the Face of the American People
Exactly, and financed by Goldman Sachs, with the blessing of Boy Geitner at Treasury. Now we have come full circle and completed a closed loop transaction.
Great post! I would love to see the link to the video of the Gibbs press conference, where he fumbles over his statements about the report.
I know of about 10 things that Obama can and should be impeached on. the fact is that the Democrat controlled Congress is not going to bring up charges against their choosen one. Someone with REAL Constitution expertise is going to have to get involved and find out the route that the American people have to take. The Founding Father put a way in there for us. Its called the 4th branch of the government CIVIL GRAND JURIES!
The only problem with that is that the judicial system is liberal too, so where does that leave us?
The Green Energy Movement:
1. Wind Turbine
2. Built by GE
3. Funded by Goldman Sachs through sale of junk bonds to Wall Street retail investors
4. Sanctioned by Geitner at Treasury Department
5.Stimulated with tax credits and government incentives.

Does everyone now see how this scam works?
In my opinion, they only need one large whirley-gig, placed on the Capital Dome. There is enough wind there to power the east coast………
Then quit using empty arguments.
I am wondering when they are going to get the straight jacket and haul Obama away. He is obviously insane. Cap and Tax and Death Care have very little support. I gues he really does thing he is Castro and is a dictator that can just do as he pleases and be damned with the people. There is something mentally wrong with him.
Aside from our HEAVELY FATHER, are there people with the clout to get all of us on the same page and bring down this insanity!!!!! There is a group i found on you tube from England-called MUSE- the song is UPRISING!!! Maybe this should become our theme song! Personally, i am FED UP!
"Rejoice fellow Americans! Somewhere on our planet, independent thought lives! "
WoW! I'd about given up hope that there was any left………
What gets me is how the other guys have branded conservatives as people who want to rape and pillage the environment. They act like our goal is to pollute as much as humanly possible–like anyone who doesn't vote Democrat is a Captain Planet villain.
I'm all for the protection of the environment, but humanity comes first. We as a country need energy, we need money, and we need security. Relying on foreign countries for the former means we must sacrifice the latter two. There's a lot of energy resources here that are unused because of some environmental mumbo-jumbo snail darters > us rhetoric. It's bull. Were I president, I would make myself wildly unpopular by allowig oil prices to skyrocket. When the public outcry became so great, I'd give the people their choices: $10 per gallon gas, or offshore drilling plus tapping the vast resources in the Alaskan wilderness.
The Kerry-Boxer Bill on Cap and Trade heads to the Senate early next month. Kerry admits he does not know what Cap and trade is. WE need to get active and make sure this insane legislation goes nowhere………
http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.asp...
You're exactly right. I'm tired of being portrayed as Looten Plunder from captain planet… and i was actually called that by a girl in college.
I agree with your assessment, and i'm a proponent of the "all of the above" option for energy.. use everything we have- drilling for oil and nat. gas, mine for coal, use wind and solar where we can, build nuclear plants, hydro-electric dams, whatever we have, lets use it.
Now, if we could just get the government to stop playing favorites and stop trying to pick the winner, i think we could get far. But the sad reality is that many of the eco nuts don't want us producing energy at all, and would rather everyone go back to pre-electricity times. Why else would they cry and complain that we don't have enough solar power or wind power, and then when plans are put in to place, they fight the building of the transmission lines? Answer: they don't want any more sources of power generation.
From 1995 until 2000, Cheney served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Halliburton, a Fortune 500 company and market leader in the energy sector.
Cheney's record as CEO was subject to some dispute among Wall Street analysts; a 1998 merger between Halliburton and Dresser Industries attracted the criticism of some Dresser executives for Halliburton's lack of accounting transparency.[48] During Cheney's tenure, Halliburton changed its accounting practices regarding revenue realization of disputed costs on major construction projects.[49] Cheney resigned as CEO of Halliburton on July 25, 2000. As vice president, he argued that this step removed any conflict of interest. Cheney's net worth, estimated to be between $30 million and $100 million, is largely derived from his post at Halliburton, as well as the Cheneys' gross income of nearly $8.82 million
Skeeter, I like your comments, they are well reasoned. Did you know that the United States is the Saudi Arabia of coal? The one commodity that we have the most of, and "The Obama" wants to eliminate the coal industry. People are not aware, but 55% of all electrical power is generated from coal. Wind could never come close in 100 years. Further, power demand will increase 50% by 2020. Where will the shortfall to produce this additional power come from?
Halliburton . No empty arguments here . But he was just the VP .
Sorry, we already have a theme song:
mmm mmm mmm
Borat Hussein Obama………
Energy farming??? Wasn't that pretty much what Enron did? And it's only going to get worse.
BHO and his gang of merry men wanted to create the next "bubble" based on green technology. It is failing because 1/2 the population sees through the scam. Gore was/is orchestrating it for them. Cap & Trade was designed to make it happen. Now they are really in a mess because they completely undersestimated the middle american who is wise enough to read both sides of the story before endorsing anything. They are now trying to create a "health care" bubble and once again middle america is not buying the hype. Regardless, the corruption will continue until we find honest people to represent us. Rahm Emmanuel is behind all of this, we will read all about it when a staffer releases their memoirs in 2012.
Let's take a look at solar power in the state of California. From the following article http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/16/science/earth/1... comes the following comment… "But even with the increases of the last decade, solar power is a pipsqueak among energy sources; it represents about one-quarter of 1 percent of California’s total energy capacity, according to the California Energy Commission. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, it represents about 0.02 percent of total capacity, but those federal figures are incomplete: they reflect only centralized facilities, not distributed rooftop installations."
Ok, keep in mind that a majority of those 'distributed rooftop installations' were also done with taxpayer dollars. I remember an ABC Special with ?John Stossel? that interviewed people that have gotten fed money that covered two thirds of the cost of installation and they kept saying "if it weren't for the fed funds, we couldn't have afforded it". That we should all be so lucky… It all becomes a huge shell game the likes of which we've never seen. Also considering that wind doesn't blow all the time and the sun sets occasionally… Well, if you can't figure this out, you probably won't admit that you made a mistake in voting for Obama.
Precisely!
They were shuffling paper, farming intangibles. The same thing that Wall Street does; a pinch of pixie dust, a jigger of foo-foo dust, mix it together and create a hybrid instrument that nobody understands. The reason the trick works, is because when it is presented to smart people, they all sit there looking stupid, afraid to say "I don't understand". They think everyone else in the room understands it, so keep silent, afraid to embarrass themselves by asking a stupid question. That is how Wall Street plays the oldest scam in the world. It sure wroked for Bernie Maddoff…………….
which pales compared to what your buddy AL the bore Gore has reaped by raping us with his Global Warming, oops, nobody is buying that, Global Climate Change agenda.
Perhaps another thing the greenies don't want to fess up to,,,,Silent Spring which outlawed the use of the only effective mosquito abatement known and subsequently doomed millions of africans to death from malaria. But don't look there, nothing going on, just keep moving!! Just goes to show how compassionate the left is to their chosen victims.
Wait a minute here guys , Im on the right side with you . I just made the comment that the high gas prices hurt alot of people and Cowboy jumped on me with both spurs .
I agree with you ! Whole heartedly ! Please dont call Gore my buddy or anybody else on the left .
I think that when you look at the wind mill issue and remember that Ted Kennedy did not want them off his precious shoreline despite the fact it would be one of the best locations, I agree with an earlier post suggesting that they look at placing them in Washington DC, but wait I must correct myself, in DC the wind does not blow, it SUCKS
Sorry, DWB. Calling anyone a buddy of Gore's is a low blow. I appologize. there is plenty of paid influence in both parties and is one of the root problems we as taxpayers have to contend. But when people like O and Gore try to make their influence peddlers holier than others, it absolutely gauls me. BTW: I am still trying to adjust to the hypocrasy of those we trust when they use that trust to screw us. I used to be an altar boy in my youth and still don't know if I should be happy or sad that I was not abused by a priest. Was I not cute enough?
How about a new law: Anyone signing a bill that HASN'T EVEN BEEN FINISHED yet is being voted on should be forced to leave public office, forfeiting all perks, pensions, etc, and never be allowed to 'serve the public' again.
There really isn't any reason to be surprised that our government, media, and politicians are so enamored of this bogus technology. GE..they bring good things to life…like political campaigns. We can't expect our politicians to read the laws they vote to pass so why be so surprised that they'd refuse to read scholarly studies. Silly in the extreme. The problem is that there is no one, no where, suggesting policies that enhance freedom while controlling government. As long as people can be bought with campaign contributions, welfare, and food stamps we will always pretend to be surprised by the outcome. On the other hand, if you've ever tried to ignore an IRS Form 1099 in April you clearly understand what the beggars haven't learned…yet. IRS Form 1099-gov for all disbursements!
Can we put the greenies in internment camps? Completely off the grid, they can live however they choose. Two choices of locale: They can have their utopia in the Michigan's UP, or in a swamp anywhere between Florida and North Carolina.
I'd like to see what solutions they come up with for midwestern winters and southern summers.
Obamamania is the new posh disease…it has affected about 40% of this country's voters….some may recover but the rest will have to be institutionalized far away from rational people!
This proves nothing, and is little more than innuendo (he worked for Halliburton, therefore he must have Halliburton at the top of his list of factors for every decision!). What this article doesn't also mention is that a lot of Cheney's income came in the form of deferred salary, ALL of which went straight to a number of charities. Plus, this is ENERGY, NOT *oil*.
One could say the same thing about anyone's links with GE. By the by, GE IS getting into everything – friend's property management company (that takes care of several rental buildings) was recently bought out by GE.
*Property management?* Seems a bit far afield from electronics, etc.
the sinner,
Patrick
No. Stop spinning it to get out from under what you said. Your original comment alluded to the high energy prices being tied to Bush. This is what you said:
"I always said Bush came from big oil , he looked out for them for 8 years and went back to big oil when he left office."
If you think I jumped on you with "both spurs", that is your opinion. i told the truth based on facts, not hyperbole, illusion or conjecture.
Environmental extremism is going to be the downfall of us all.
It seems like everything we do, “harms the environment”. I mean, what do these boneheads want us to do? Give up everything we have and go back to living in caves??!!
They’d probably like that.
It’s all about money, really. People are making money off of all this nonsense….and isnt that ironic. The Left wing Democrats supposedly dont like big business…….OH, except when its in their favor.
Hypocrisy runs RAMPANT in the Democratic party

Your words = both spurs . I gave you some facts above about Halliburton and Cheney . But one word said enough .
In all honesty, I think greening up would not be so bad, however, the sheer religious fervor these people are pursuing this, and wanting to mandate all of these green initiatives at once over something as flimsy as AGW, that is the destructive part. If I had a choice and the money (and a house) I would put solar panels on my house because it would cut my electric bill to nothing and possibly even make me some money. But using taxpayer money on this is ridiculous. Go Green is good, but don't push your BS on me too. So to be clear, I like the idea of cleaning up the environment, but not at the expense of our and our children's future.
Boy,
I give up, you win. I am not going to argue with an unarmed man. You remind me of most of my ex-wives; always needing to get the last word in. Sure, you have impressed us all that you can use the computer and cut and paste. But why cut and paste my words? Why cut and paste information on Halliburton that you Googled and plagurised from another web site? if you can't come up with something original, I will not debate you, and I certainly will not joust with you.
What I found interesting about the gas price thing was as soon as Bush came out and said he was tapping off-shore wells, the prices dropped sharply. Then the Dumb-ass democrats came out and said we weren't, then the prices started to inch back up. All that was was a bubble. It was all energy speculation driving up the price, like the housing boom. It was all smoke and mirrors. But not a single person went to jail. Does that seem right to you?

I dont want to fight , you are the one with the ugly tone .
Where do you get your information ? I get some of mine from the net .

Ok , lets bury the hatchett and I will even cover the handle .

Obama is too busy being a celebrity and a playboy to worry about governing the country.
He’s in Denmark trying to get them to bring the Olympics to Chicago in 2016.
Next he’s probably going to be on the red carpet at the Oscars
Anyone involved in the energy idustry, who knows it, who understands it, knows that the green movement is nothing but a scam, The largest scam ever perpetrated upon the American Public, second only to Cap in Trade and Health Care. It is nothing more than a touchy-feely slogan that gives everyone the warm and fuzzies.
What drives the Green Movement, is the tax credits and subsidies, from the Government. People complain about the Ag Bill, and the Ag Lobby; just wait until they start "energy farming"…………………
There is no global warming. No pronounced climate change. No green jobs.
This is a religion, with Reverend Al heading the church.
The government sees it as a great way to get money.
They are saying "to hell with the citizens". And despite the failures of other countries with "green jobs", they will continue to make up excuses, and push their agenda through.
Sound good?
Well then, start writing the powers that be, folks. (Pres, Senators, etc.)
Put pens to paper and mail it. (more effective that way)
I send out at least 10 letters a week.
Just what we need destruction of jobs, increase energy costs, increase in taxes, and increase in debt. Now this is redistribution of wealth this administration said was a good thing
From the Report.
Finally, it is worth considering the distribution of the destroyed jobs across the
economy. Obviously, the specific productive sectors affected will depend on how the
government finances the subsidies to renewable energy. We can basically separate the
The economics of artificial job creation: a calculation of the cost of green jobs on the rest of productive activity approaches intro three groups: increases in energy rates, increase in taxes or an increase in public debt.
When it comes to international diplomacy, it has a whole lot more to do with poker than it does with any illusory ideals of virtuous leadership and compassion. When Obama is at the gamiling table he is only to happy to have all his hole cards face up. When he added the 'or else' at the UN if Iran does not roll over by Thursday must of had the mullah rolling on the floor. Much like the diminutive maniac in NK they take their Letters of comdemnation and "resoultions" and wear them like badges. They know the impotence of the UN and now of Obama.
BTW: I really do wish they would stop calling those worthless missives they issue "resolutions" as there has never been anything 'resolute' about them
cool pic of the wind turbine self destructing.
I find it ironic that the left wing Democrats rail against big business, and yet their environmental policies seem to directly contridict that.
Businesses that promote so called “green energy” are making lots of money every time they put out their propaganda and people believe in it…thus making them money.
The hypocrisy is rampant
With all that Obama is doing, it seems to me, his plan is to destroy what is left of our country.
NO drilling, no coal, no natural gas, fine what companies we have left, new taxes on companies, new taxes on products, new taxes on us!
He loans Brazil billions so they can drill for their own oil, providing jobs for their own people, while we are denied!
It has to stop, before our kids have absolutely no future here! I truly believe he has no intention to help our country to be what was once a land of opportunity!

1) THERE IS NO GLOBAL WARMING !
2) THOSE "GREEN" LIGHT BULBS ARE TOXIC AND CAUSE MIGRAINE SUFFERERS MORE AND WORSE MIGRAINES !
3) OBAMA IS A THIN SKINNED EMPTY SUIT, WHO KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS NOTHING ABOUT ANYTHING, EXCEPT HOW TO BE A THUG AND A RACIST !
4) GO OUT, NOW, AND STOCK UP ON OLD FASHIONED INCANDESCENT LIGHT BULBS…BE A HOARDER !
It seems that socialism isn't working out for Spain. The Spanish gobierno is about to raise taxes substantially and the country can ill afford it. It has suffered the worst from this social government and the recession.
Buy guns and ammo, we're gonna need it………….
Obama does not know the first thing about running a government, he just pretends he does while ticking off and dumbfounding our friends world wide.
He doesn't know anything about running health care, he just pretends he does while ticking off over half of the population, insurance companies and half the doctors.
He doesn't know anything about running a war, he just pretends he does while the generals are screening for more troops and our boys are dying.
He doesn't know anything about banking, he just pretends he does while spending billions on a failed bailout and controlling who gets paid what.
He doesn't know anything about car manufacturing, but he pretends he does while spending billions including taking over 2 companies and running a bogus rebate program.
He knows about ACORN and how to run scams on the American taxpayer to corrupt government and business, he also knows how to register dead and non existent people to win elections.
Change we can all believe in is the motto of this guy.
My motto is; change Washington, throw the bums out on their ear.
Indeed what few people ever talk about in the lead up to the 2nd Gulf War was that Iraq had violated multiple UN resolutions. Even after getting spanked by coalition forces Saddam knew how useless UN resolutions really were. The UN inevitably comes down on the side of evil.
There is only one group that I despise more than our current congress and that's the UN. Close down the UN now. It achieves nothing except scandal and waste.
please watch this 1 spread it around if you like !

I'm all for greening up too but solar panels are definitely not the way to do it. They are hugely expensive, inefficient, and require a real energy source in order to work. In order to get solar panels to operate the electricity for my small house, I would have to spend more on solar panels than I did on the house.
If they were truly interested in reducing emissions, the government would start building as many nuclear power plants as they possibly could. Then we could sell the coal and/or natural gas to other countries. Wind and solar are nice hobbys but until they can replace coal fired plants, they are useless.

I didn't see anything damning in this bit of info.
At least Cheney had a job before he became Vice President. Just because Haliburton is a big player in government contracts (LOOOOOng before GWB and STILL) doesn't mean that Cheney has done anything to undermine his integrity.
If Haliburton is this demonic entity that you imagine it to be, why are they still being awarded contracts by the government. Cheney is no longer there to "give" them the contracts. Why do they still get them?

That's happened to me before also……maybe the thumbs up and down should be a LITTLE further apart.
And if we're lucky it will lift the Capital off the ground and fly it towards Cuba. Then the Congress critters can view what they are trying to create.
Give him a break.
He did spend the night at a Holiday Inn Express.
So, what happened to all the "Reds" of the 60's, 70's and 80's? They turned "Green".
So our government stands in the corner with its collective hands over its ears and shouts, "Ignore it, I didn't hear a thing, it's not true!"
The U.S. federal government can no longer be taken seriously enough to be considered a legitimate government.
I trust my local government quite a bit. The federal government – not so much. I wish it would just disband and go home, leaving only Defense and the CBO to collect enough funds for bullets and paychecks to the troops.
The key to all the craziness we are seeing can be found researching Yuri Bezmenov.
[...] Obama Uses Feds to Protect His ‘Green Jobs’ Fantasy [...]
GE wind is the remnants of Enron. It is a fiasco except for it being subsidized by Feds.
Yes, Wall St. is evil, yet they want to create a carbon emissions exchange. Boggles the mind.
Oh wait, the exchange will be in Chicago.
Enough said.
Decoding Obama's Green Jobs: We'll all be reduced to subsistence dirt farming once we have no vehicles, energy is rationed, and the State of CA finally kills off the Agricultural Industry in the Central Valley.'
How Hopey Changey is that!
It's not a coinkydink that his biggest fans are Chavez, Castro and Zelaya. New World Dictators flock together.
Exactly. Nobody has picked up on that, yet…………
"Got Corruption?"
A lot of the rise in oil has to do with the collapse in the value of the Dollar, nothing else.
Obongo does.
Emmeneul does
Geithner does.
Podesta does.
Chicago gangland at its finest…………
some of us have been stashing the good old bulbs, and god help anyone who tries to do an "audit" of my lighting.
I would disagree attributing it all to the devaluation of the dollar though that does play a significant part, but what was seen and I expected when Bush announced the opening of the continental shelf, it brought the speculators to heel. And in regard to the dollar devaluation, spending has to stop. We have never, and I mean never been so close to having the dollar dropped as world reserve as we are now. I pray it won't happen but washington is doing everything it can to make it happen either by design or shear stupidity. Watch what we pay when it is no longer denominated in dollars. We may have to drill and export our oil just to raise foreign currency and pay down our debts. STOP STIMULATING US.
Well, Obama wants to get his noise in everything and hand out our money. And that he did. Now, He wants more these cars that he wants us to have can you picture what goes next. What sticks must come down, like everything else, health care(if this pass you will loose some good doctors and also, insurance company's)can you image what kind of doctor we will have and what kind of care we get out of this. In the mean while government, czars, congress, everybody in there will e spending our money. They will sit pretty not us.We will have to take this or go to jail.Just like the census. That's coming up soon. They are going to want to know about how many people who are in the house, releion,ss,what kind of doctor or insurance you have. That's not right.Or go to jail.
About our health care plan Ask yourself a question? How many different doctors we have out there..People choice.Different doctors to chose from right? If this passes we will not get that option..Just a`doctor that the government gives us…Ask your self how many times you go to the doctor? Some more then others? What kind of doctor you see, kids ,parent, men, women,Some people need doctors more then others, and need less. We will be paying for the people who need doctors more then or less then ????It's your money???And where does it go to…..The government. We are going to be paying for everybody.Even if we don't use the health care that much, but other people who do,and it goes the same for people who uses it less or more…Ether way it goes we are still paying for it…

Although the Obama administration's announcement of draft guidelines for federal funding of embryonic stem cell research "is a significant improvement" over former President George W. Bush's more restrictive policy, the new proposal "is not bold enough and will continue to deny federal financing to some potentially promising research," a New York Times editorial states. The Times reports that Obama’s proposal would allow federal funding "only on stem cell lines created from surplus embryos at fertility clinics but not on lines created in the laboratory to study particular diseases." Still, unlike Bush's restrictions, Obama's proposal would allow federally financed researchers to study embryonic stem cell lines that might be created in the future, the editorial says. In addition, it could "significantly expand the number of past lines that can be studied with federal dollars to include some of the hundreds that have been created around the world from surplus embryos," according to the editorial.
It continues that the new guidelines propose "rigorous eligibility standards," including that individuals who wish to donate surplus embryos from fertility treatments be informed of all disposal options, that written consent is obtained separately from donors' decision to create the embryos and that donors are permitted to withdraw consent before the embryos are used. These requirements are "widely accepted today," but "they could rule out research on lines derived in the past under less stringent codes, including many created at leading universities or even those approved under Mr. Bush," according to the editorial. "Officials will need to pay close attention to this potential problem before issuing final guidelines," the editorial says. The editorial also notes that the National Academy of Sciences and other scientific organizations have endorsed research using lab-created embryos to genetically match treatments for patients with certain diseases, such as diabetes or Parkinson’s. The guidelines would prohibit such research, known as "therapeutic cloning," although scientists have not yet successfully produced such embryos.
"The guidelines seem likely to increase the amount of embryonic stem cell research supported by the government without triggering a political backlash," the editorial says, concluding, "But given the potential value of the science, it is disappointing that the NIH didn't go further" (New York Times, 4/23).

Cowboy Logic, you say that green energy is a scam. Indeed it is. You know how we know it is a scam. Because if it were legit it would be marketable. When government interferes in the market it is automatically a scam.
