ClimateGate: Facts Are Important Things
by Carly FiorinaThis week, diplomats from around the world are gathering in Copenhagen for the global climate change summit—an event that has been marked by controversy in the wake of the “climate-gate” scandal that has recently and rightly gained significant international media attention.

This scandal has provoked many questions that I believe deserve answers. Among other things, it would seem that information relating to climate change research may have been held back from the public— and key decision-makers, too. This could of course impact the appropriateness and effectiveness of policy that the US, and indeed world leaders, might pursue. Before moving forward, given the potentially significant economic consequences associated with some of the steps under consideration, I personally think it is important to get a handle on all the facts, whether they be good, bad or ugly.
Unfortunately, Barbara Boxer and her colleagues in Congress who seek to pass major cap and trade legislation that analysis shows is a job killer take a different view—and have different questions they want answered.
Boxer, specifically, has been more concerned about legal issues surrounding how this information became publicly available than she has been in the information itself. I am not in any way arguing that criminal activity should be ignored. I believe an investigation as to how this information became public is warranted. However, I think it is equally crucial that we also fully examine and consider the substance of information that has been brought to light already.
Ironically, Barbara Boxer has been happy to advocate for the publication of information relating to the climate change debate in the past. In July of last year, she demanded the public release of internal EPA data on climate change which she said constituted “the strongest language I have ever seen or that you have ever seen” substantiating that man-made global warming was occurring and constituted a major threat. At the time she said such data “belongs in the hands of the American people.” She also called on EPA officials to “release every document” related to an email at the center of the controversy, and blasted the Bush administration for “suppressing information.”
So, what is different here? Well, mainly, the fact that at that time, the information in question supported her position on this issue. Now that we’re talking about information that may not support that conclusion, she isn’t interested in making sure the facts are available to the American people.
In business and in my own life I try to make decisions and solve problems based on all of the available facts. Ultimately, an uninformed decision is likely to be a bad one, and that is why I find Barbara Boxer’s response to this situation so unacceptable.
We deserve better from our elected officials, just as we do scientists researching important matters affecting lives and our economy. We deserve to know the truth – and to know our representatives in Washington, DC, will prioritize that, even when it is politically inconvenient for them.

Isn't this the woman who launched an ad campaign on how Hewlett-Packard computers are safe and "green" for the environment? An ad campaign trying to address the environment and market her company's computers as being environmentally responsible?
A woman who will do what's necessary for money….Somebody call Tiger Woods.
Here is a fact that the delegates could look into while in Copenhagen.
It was much warmer during the medieval warming period.
There are Vikings buried in permafrost in Greenland.
The permafrost was not disturbed since it froze.
It was not frozen when they were buried.
I would call that warmer then today, a lot warmer.
The ironic thing is that this evidence of the medieval warming period is in a museum in Copenhagen.

Also, the medieval warming period was global.

Carly, read this: http://www.junkscience.com/Greenhouse/
It explains that CO2 is vital for crop production and that the amounts humans are responsible for are statistically insignificant. If nothing else, we should take them (pro legislation climate scientists) at their word: they can't account for cooling periods with their models. This clearly means their models are FLAWED and should not be the basis for ANY legislation.
The bottom line is that we need to call a spade a spade here. Climate justice is no different from social justice is no different from any of the other justices that progressives (i.e. socialists) support. These types of justice are merely catchy titles, much like the names for much of the legislation passed in Congress intended to hide the true agenda behind them, which generally point towards greater state control over individuals, accomplished through Orwellian regulations and stealing of our economic liberty (an inherent part of individual liberty) through redistribution of wealth (i.e. legalized plunder).
As with almost every policy that the left supports, they use the elitists: academics, scientists, economists, journalists in order to build credibility and convince the sheeple of the necessity to follow through with these policies. In true Alinsky-ite fashion, the left creates crises in order to intervene more which creates more crises, until ultimately the system is overloaded and they can take full control. The climate change issue just happens to be the latest scam they are peddling.

I think everyone's missing the real issue here. Even if there is no global warming currently, and even if global temperatures are declining, the relevant and important point is that mankind MIGHT cause some global temperature increase, even if just a tiny bit, and that MIGHT eventually, even if over hundreds or thousands of years, contribute to a global catastrophe of Copenhagen proportions. We need to be thinking down the road, people. Don't we care about our descendants in the future? They need to be protected! So what if there isn't any global warming now? We need to make sure that THERE NEVER IS! And that "hockey stick" graph sure looks convincing to me, even if it is fraudulent.

Bravo, Carly!
Thanks for adding your voice to the growing chorus calling for an objective, fact-based debate on man-made global warming. As the crescendo grows, ultimately the real truth will come out.
Stop the USA from making major policy decisions based on flawed science!
Funny, this idiot was in favor of this garbage until it was so publicly bebunked and discredited.
But judging from the queen of the extortive golden parachute's (45 million) blog entry, she is not even up to speed on just how thoroughly it has been debunked and discredited.
That tells us she would still be looking to do the dirty deals, smile for the cameras and collect more ill gotten gains in the name of "bipartisanship".
Fiorina is the last thing California and the country needs, Boxer notwithstanding. No more cult of personality candidates and no more sexist, race baiting tactics in politics.
Enough Carly, run as a Democrat or drop out for the good of us all.
Sorry, I just have a doubt about women from California since I live there and the track record ain't so good…Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein.
Show me the Conservativism – AFTER – you're elected. Then I might get behind you…
Did I mention Newt Gingrich is a sellout BTW? He's on Greta right now. Makes me sick.

Chuck DeVore is running against Boxer, also. He gets my vote. No more RINOs!

Earth's climate has been in a constant state of flux for over 4.98 Billion years before the first progenitor of man exhaled his first carbon rich breath. So how is "Global Climate Change"" man's doing again?
PS Fiona, You might get traction in California with the other RINOs but not here. We know what you are, and it screams so loudly in our ears that we cannot hear a word you are saying.
Visit here for more info on this and other matters the media does not want you to know

This is exactly the right position on this subject. Whatever the truth is, there needs to be total scientific transparency in terms of both data AND software in order to validate something that's going to massively impact the standard of living and the scope of government control. When someone makes a hysterical prediction, they should be forced to show their work and suffer the consequences if found to be indulging in "political science".
This isn't possible now because it's too difficult or impossible to duplicate their work.
Another AGW position you may want to adopt is getting behind nuclear power for at least 50 percent of the nation's power generation to avoid the necessity of a "smart grid". Having the potential of people like Joe Biden adjusting my thermostat from Washington is a nightmare I don't wish to contemplate.
Thank you for posting here. I'm not sure DeVore can win in Kalifornia, but I'll be investigating your positions on the issues prior to casting my vote.
Good luck in any case.
Mine double posted too
this is her second post. I demand one by Chuck DeVore.

Like I said above – the track record isn't good from California for snappy women with all the answers. Sorry if they fit into a stereotype. Just the way it is, call it gender profiling or whatever.
Three strikes and you're out. We'll try a man this time at least we won't get another Boxer, Pelosi, Feinstein.
BTW, I'm not fired-up on anyone.
Great visual article that puts the questions in context.

Does no one read the posts or get sarcasm. You also forgot to say that one of us might sit on a butterfly today and keep one of our descendants from being born in the year 3785. Which would be pre-murder! We must stop butterfly killing now and we must pay liberal groups whatever it may take to accomplish the appearance of doing that!
But I still can’t get past the Peace Prize.
ahh the old attack the messanger strategy very innovative
Ice ages are recorded throughout the earths' history, with warmer periods between, like the period we are now in. The latest such major ice age covered much of North America as recently as 10-15 thousand years ago — about the time that Asian peoples began migrating to North America. The global warming that followed certainly didn't result from the efforts of man. If these past ice ages and periods of global warming were not caused by man's puny efforts, why in the world would anyone think todays' global change is caused by man?
I will NOT consider the plausibility of "man-caused global change" until the computer models that are being used to "predict" global warming" are able to recreate the global cooling and warming of these past periods of time, including the years 500 AD through 1800 — and not until Al Gore deep-sixes his "hockey stick" global history for one which acknowledges the "little ice age" and following warm period of that era.
Yes, kinda like NBC Universal and green week. Have you tried these marvelous GE lights, yet?
Blow the wistle on liberal crapola and it's illegal … Whoever did it is a hero to the world.
You beat me to it!!
If you are having problems with double posting you can always delete one of them.
Yep. The lack of evidence suggests that the fact must be there!
When the glaciers melted and receded back to the North, there must have been global warming, right? What caused it then….????the cows? The vikings used too much steam from the Natural Geysers? Somebody turned up the Solar Thermostat? A group can not save anybody from this fictisous (Sp:?) event….Be afraid of something else please.
Yep. The lack of evidence suggests that the facts must be there!
Go Chuck!
Can you imagine a woman controlling The Solar Thermostat? I'm too hot, I'm too cold, I'm hot & I'm cold! __Was there a temp increase due to WW II? An ungodly amount of polutants were thrown into the air, including 2 Hydrogen bombs. In addition, our industries ramped up the productions to a 24/7 operating cycle. It makes me sick that they are capitalizing on their LIES! Why can't they capitalize on The Truth?
Good point, I have also used the example of what created the Great Lakes? Glaciers right? What happened to the Glaciers?
I don't know why this thing keeps double posting for me, but Oh well. Yeah, DeVore, was he the guy who showed up to the Tea Party Express venues in CA?
'Why is Carly a Rino? Why is no one providing examples? Some of you guys are name calling as bad as the liberals. Even some sexist comments thrown in to boot, you'd think this was Palin posting on Huffpo.
I applaud her for taking on climategate and calling out Boxer for her duplicity, and I'm fired up at the prospect of a powerful and successful business leader with a vote in the Senate.
If anyone wants to fill in with some actual reasons why they don't like Carly other than name-calling and sexism feel free.
Quite frankly, Newt is disgusting when he says "quite frankly."
Ozzie,
Mizz Fiorina is playing to a conservative crowd to get conservative funding for her campaign. Sorry, she is not a conservative. It may well be that Barbara Boxer will defeat a conservative. I don't have to live in CA anymore, but if I did I would vote for and financially support the conservative candidate for the office and not a liberal democrat, nor a liberal Republican.
Yes, she is Al Gore with a vagina. (eyeroll)
Met Office, which has spent four days collecting signatures. The initiative is a sign of how worried it is that e-mails stolen from the University of East Anglia are fueling skepticism about man-made global warming at a critical moment in talks on carbon emissions.
One scientist said that he felt under pressure to sign the circular or risk losing work. The Met Office admitted that many of the signatories did not work on climate change..

"And that "hockey stick" graph sure looks convincing to me, even if it is fraudulent. "
Wise words, my dear friend.
Science has evolved. Unfortunately, simpler minds haven't evolved at a similar pace. The notion that there needs to be 'provability' or 'concrete' evidence in science has become outdated. Progressive minds understand that yesterday's 'fact' has evolved to today's 'what if'. It's a natural progression. It's a scientific progression. These skeptics with their 'factish' statements and demands clearly miss the point. The question that we should be asking is 'what if'. And, to answer that question, we look to science to provide the data necessary to reach a acceptable conclusion.
What if we do nothing about Global warming? Well, then we might be in store for dire consequences. And, science provides innumerable graphs, charts, data tables and fauxtographs to highlight how we might reach these dire consequences.
Skeptics demands for absolutes is unreasonable, and non-progressive minded. Absolutes are limiting and they discourage creative thought. And creativity and imagination are the keys to modern progressive science.
did any of you actually read the article? Instead of being angry read what Carly says. It makes sense to this foreigner.
Look at what she says:
"Before moving forward, given the potentially significant economic consequences associated with some of the steps under consideration, I personally think it is important to get a handle on all the facts, whether they be good, bad or ugly."
I come from the land Downunder, and we have just seen our ETS legislation defeated in the Senate for the second time, after there was a leadership spill.
What needs to happen is that we need to get away from the emotive arguments that are the fashion, such as appeals to "doing it for our children and grandchildren". The fact is that in light of the Climategate scandal we should be evaluating everything relating to the science involved with "Climate change".
What is obvious to me is that there is a small cabal of scientists who have been distorting the data, and as a result of that distortion governments are running around like chooks with their heads cut off. Actually it is more serious than that scenario. You have to look behind the scenes in relation to that same cabal of scientists and see who is there – WWF – World Wildlife Foundation. It seems that they wanted information that seemed critical and they wanted the scary scenarios for their own ends. Then there is the involvement of Greenpeace, and the list goes on and on.
The Hoaxenhagen love fest is a bit of a farce. Poor countries such as Bangladesh are demanding their share of the pot – they want at least 15% of the world contributions. Keep in mind that Bangladesh as a developing nation does not have the large industries that are the cause of pollution.
Then there is the issue of carbon dioxide, something that the world requires to survive being called a pollutant. Serious issues need to be dealt with in a very serious and strong way.
Attacking Carly Fiorina as if she is somehow the same as Ma'am Boxer is real foolishness in my opinion. She needs to be able to articulate these issues. This is not a RINO response.
It's all about power and money for the government. No one in congress really gives a flip about global warming.
Well, that's a first!
Seems like the masses are waking up to reality… thanks, hoax. Now, try applying all we are learning from major conspiracies to other events that our gov and its masters have perpetrated against us. Calling anyone that wants real investigations of our govs behavior a conspiracy.
Well… here it is. You, me, we, cannot trust our gov for many reasons, and one is that they ‘hire’ people for their agenda.
Pressure… up the pressure. This has an effect on our planet and lives… not like Tiger’s BS.
Time to force the journalists to report quality and important stories and not sensationalism and entertainment only.
Dude! Those little crappy light bulbs are….well, crappy. TOUCH my halogen light bulbs and there will be hell to pay.
LOOK you hyper-liberal (yes hyper- and not ultra-) One Government One World _ags really must find another country to destroy.
And Syntax_game….if Carly is "the woman who launched an ad campaign on how Hewlett-Packard computers are safe and "green" for the environment" it is called fiduciary duty to her shareholders. When Janitor errrrr Senator Boxer calls carbon a "pollutant" her lack of fiduciary duty makes her a traitor.
Good grief! A bunch of _ussies have hijacked the greatest country in the world.
Well said Adam! Carly has flip-flopped on so many issues. Just another case of arrogance who believes her "well connected friends" will get her elected! Ask her about "net neutrality", ask her about her business dealings with Iran when she was CEO…….she's another phony! Boxer OUT-DeVore IN!!!!!!!!!
As a taxpayer, I'm tired of seeing my money go to prop up the oil industry. We spend billions of dollars on wars and in propping up despotic governments that severely restrict the rights of women. I doubt very much that there is a Carly Fiorina counterpart in Saudi Arabia. I support breathing non-polluted air. I support employing American ingenuity and enterprise in developing renewable energy resources. Ms. Fiorina, you have found it easy to outsource technical jobs developed in the US to overseas companies. Think of the wonderful challenge to take in figuring out a way to outsource a wind farm, solar energy plant or nuclear plant. You should be all for it!
Just to show how stupid Babs the 4 legged Boxer is-she wants to prosecute those who leaked the emails. Babs the 4 legged Boxer-this is an ENGLISH university-your dawg ass has no juristriction. You can now return to your gaines burgers.
Agree. Our demand of past orthodoxy is often counterproductive. The enemy of my enemy is my friend seems to apply here. I especially agree with your take on CO2. I love CO2 and all it produces for human consumption through plants. A pollutant! What arrogance!
Lately it has been the whistle that has been declared illegal. The whistle-blowers become candidates for career-assassination.
DeVore truly is the sensible candidate! He's very clear on his positions, he doesn't waver, he uses common sense principles, he's a great listener, and he doesn't bow to special interest groups. I'm not buying the "donkey dung-lite" Carly is trying to peddle and I'll be sure to let all my CA friends/colleagues know it. She's a John McCain wannabe…….who by the way is in his own troubles in AZ. Polls show he's within a 2 point margin against J.D. Hayworth and J.D. hasn't even formally announced his bid for the senate seat. What does that tell you?
Go away Carly! Go play with the Democrats!
Mr Bender-nice sarcasm-try this at the huffPo. theyd love it until theyve found out theyve been scammed.
What do you want to know about him? He's very accessible. Contact him on his website, ask him questions, inquire about his speaking engagements and fundraisers so you can hear him speak and see how "REAL" he is.
He's done numerous radio interviews as well. Step up, get involved. Get on his e-mail list. You can join him on facebook. The more exposure he gets, the more we can rally behind him.
What if all the weak climate models and the massive collusion to deter true scientific inquiry, alter data, and strong-arm professional consensus, in order to further a hypothesis (AGW) actually masked the fact that the Earth was cooling? What if? This most certainly could be covering up Global Cooling! The foundation upon which the hypothesis has gained favor is rotten, and everybody now knows it. I want to know a lot more before we hand the keys to freedom to a new set of Rulers. What if we gave our freedom away for no good reason?
Agreed. I have noticed that even though they claim to be able to control the climate (and save us all!) through controlling our actions and plunging the world into poverty, there has been little discussion regarding the perfect target temperature.
Sadly, none of what you are in favor of will be accomplished by Kyoto reforms. It is truly a magnificently ceremonial clash with a mere shadow of a windmill. The resources necessary for your list of desirable outcomes will dwindle enormously under Kyoto. Also, if you object to outsourced manufacturing, Kyoto will give you plenty of that too.
Yes, its true. They are trying to tax the air we breathe!
Oh that's simple. Thank you for asking.
Carly is FOR corporate welfare provisions. Surprise, Surprise.
Carly is pro-life "personally". So exactly, what does that mean? How convenient the "up in years Fiorina who can no longer get pregnant" would respect this personally BUT NOT COLLECTIVELY? Uh huh, yep, RINO!
NET NEUTRALITY! Calling the internet the wild wild west and imposing restrictions under the guise of "protecting women and children? Are you kidding me?
Oh, and my favorite: you want to talk "sexist comments"? She believes because she's a woman she has a better chance of beating Boxer? PLEASE do not insult my intelligence. Are women now expected to be reduced to "lockstep voting" because she's a woman? Shall I go on? I would be happy to provide you further EXAMPLES!
I wouldn't financially support her either. Right now she is articulating an important message that has been out for weeks without MSM reportage until the last few days. This message is true and it needs to be articulated by any and all that dare. I'm glad she has a soapbox in this instance.

Why would anyone trust anything Carly Fiorina has to say????
She is building her campaign on her experience as CEO of Hewlett-Packard. What she doesn't tell you is that she was FIRED after costing shareholders 60% of their stock value, and eliminating 18,000 American jobs.
Check the FACTS about Carly Fiorina at http://www.carly-fiorina.com/
Before joining HP, Calry was also about to be fired from her job at Lucent. Read about it at http://conservativeinsights.blogspot.com/2009/12/...
Don't believe anything liar Fiorina has to say.
How arrogant it is for people to think that they are responsible for the temperatures on this earth! Blow hards like Gore really raise themselves up to a god like status b/c they have fooled most into thinking that humans have ruined this world. He has made a boat load of money off of his "cause". It doesn't matter if all of their evidence to that fact has been made up or that they threaten anyone with an opposing view. Tax payers are supposed to buy into the "global warming is man made" ideology. Cap and trade? Really? Does anyone think that will decrease the temps at all? Cap and trade will destroy the western way of life. We will live like 3rd world nations – w/o heat, electricity, or any other modern convenience or luxury that we can afford now. I am not opposed to keeping this earth clean and doing whatever we can to breathe clean air, I am against people profiting off of the idea that "people" can do their share to help mother earth. Yes, don't pollute, reuse bags, use less chemicals, try carpooling or riding your bike. Don't make me buy your products because they are "green" and cost twice as much.
Facts:
NASA still withholds data from FOIA inquiry.
EPA has shredded data rather than release it. CO2 is not a pollutant.
The truth is in the data, not the emails, check out the new graphs.
Cap and Trade is being rejected in other countries including Denmark.
The U.S. is too slow in acting on the fraud.

She's taking a play right out of John Kerry's playbook. I was FOR Global Warming before I am against it…..Carly, please change your party affiliation for the good of Kalifornia. You and Meg Whitman can run as DEms you ladies might be more "electable" in that venue.
I see this as Carly trying to tack libertarian – let's encourage her, not scare her away
I don't much care what her leanings are – she's advocating looking at the DATA, not just blindly believing the AGW pronoucements.
When trillions are involved, you want the process to be as open as possible. I'm sure not seeing that with the current crop of 'climate scientists' – they're pissed because they're being questioned, and won't share their data and programs? AND deleted raw data to boot?
Something stinks about this. It needs to be looked at, and the usual 'We reviewed it all and we don't find anything wrong with it' crap isn't going to cut it.
Senator Boxer is refusing to look at evidence that the whole 'Global Warming' game has been fixed by a few people but since its just tax money that she blows like the $738 Billion "Stimulus" money she seems not to care. I know that Pelosi has bought into Texas wind farms, has Boxer a stake in that venture also. Get those people in court, under oath and find out if the United States has been taken in a "Ponzi Scheme;" what is so difficult, why all the reluctance if there is nothing to hide. After what has happened in the last 10 months no one trusts politicians like Boxer to do the right thing since she has done the wrong thing so many times.
Oh good another mealy mouthed RINO takes a stand. A completely phony issue is costing her state a million jobs and she feels very strongly both ways.
I didn't know that dilbert was a CRU researcher!
http://www.dilbert.com/fast/2008-05-08/
Boxer is right, the fake numbers are irrelevant.
Climate change legislation was never about “the environment,” just power and money.
"In business and in my own life I try to make decisions and solve problems based on all of the available facts. Ultimately, an uninformed decision is likely to be a bad one, and that is why I find Barbara Boxer’s response to this situation so unacceptable."
In general, business people must be hyper-pragmatic to succeed. Those that are lead by theory don't usually do as well. They must deal in facts, not hyperbole. Politicians are the exact opposite: they are lead by the Party Line. Politicians look at each issue and figure out how to spin it in their favor. Reality plays little to no role for them. That's why it's so refreshing when someone who fancies themselves a politician focuses on facts. At this time in our history, pragmatism is hard to find in our political class even though they are dealing with fact-filled challenges.
Keep trying to move RIGHT Carly WE Conservatives understand your RINOish tendicies and look forward to an open debate with DeVore…..you will be doing that RIGHT?
http://motherjones.com/mojo/2009/11/carly-fiorina...
"She was eager to talk about the notion that climate policy could help stimulate innovation and create jobs, and that a well-executed cap-and-trade scheme could spur economic development"
She was a "Maverick" just like McCain and I think WE on the RIGHT have had enough with the Mavericks in the party it is high time for Conservatives…you know the kind that just WANTS government OUT OF THE WAY to take hold of the GOP.
This is going to be a Conservative Revolution in 2010 and Carly likes that moderate mushy Crunchy Con way of being a Republican that Americans are REJECTING!
I'm not sure she has a vagina. If so, it comes with a manhood package. I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Facts are Important Things. Yes they are. One surprising fact is that sea level measurements along the California coast have declined since 1998. Some climate researchers want to "hide this decline" from the public. So in the recent draft Climate Adaptation Report, a fuzzy graph reportedly showing a smoothed historical trend in sea level conveniently stopping at the year 2000, even though there have been eight additional years of data at NOAA tide stations which show the lower sea levels during the last decade. Carly, who thought it was scientifically accurate to delete the last eight years from the scientific record?
Carly can start quacking like a duck all she likes. With politicians remember this they will say whatever it takes to get elected, then once elected they do whatever they want. Her past performance is what concerns me, she has a history of outsourcing every job but Top management positions and then arrogantly claims that Americans have no "God given right" to those jobs ( but she does?, Does she have a "God given right to a Senate seat?)
Agreed when it comes to the fact checking, raw data is hard to mistake. Being Aussie, you're probably well aware of what's happening with Victoria's Police Forensics departments too. Their bungling of DNA evidence and poor record-keeping of such data has opened an entire pandora's box, and in recent weeks a whole host of hardened convicts are calling for re-trials and some even clemency. I believe not a single thorough audit of their facilities was taken in 15years.
My point is that, if data is contaminated at any point during the process of scientific gathering and examination and if due diligence is obstructed at every opportunity to hide deceit and misconduct, the credibility of any scientific body's claims/conclusions amount to nil. Far greater headaches ensue, and we the tax payers have to pocket the consequences to the tunes of hundreds of millions/billions and in the case of GW/CC trillions potentially – that is before we clean and save a single waterway that needs saving, or help a sinking atoll because the water-table has been consumed entirely by indigenous populations (yes the oceans aren't necessarily rising).
All these cunning 'climate' 'scientists' need to be outed, shunned and legally prosecuted for fraud and a whole range of other misdeeds. They're helping not one soul, or scientific endeavor that has real possibilities in improving the environment and lives of many around the world. Millions in Africa have died because of world grain shortages as a result of these con-artists pushing their harebrained "eco-friendly" biofule schemes. Empirically speaking, they're con-artists, nothing more and nothing less and they deserve to do time and pay for their crimes when justice comes a knocking.
The longer we sit on our hands and not take these pseudo-scientists to task, the more these same con-artistes and their grubby backers (UN, Gore + Carbon-Traders, Soros, Alternative energy producers, Our Governments) will continue to defraud us all.
I'm still waiting for someone to explain how shutting down the clean industry here and moving production to the much dirtier factories in China will reduce pollution.
Yup. HP worked very hard when I worked them to be the ultimate left-wing propaganda machine…because it makes leftists roll over and pant so much that they don't know notice how HP went from one of America's best employers to strictly middle of the pack. HP even was paying one of their employees with NO expertise in the subject to run around our various U.S. facilities and preach the gospel of global warming.
I worked for HP during Empress Carly's reign. The decision to acquire Compaq was a serious mistake–and that she personally became obscenely rich as a result of the purchase pretty obviously clouded her judgment. It destroyed a close marketing arrangement with Dell, causing Dell to become a major competitor with HP in a market where they had previously been a major customer.
My biggest objection to Empress Carly is that she hasn't a clue how to simulate a caring human being. I know that being a multimillionaire liberal, she can't be a caring human being. But she can't even fake one.
I actually agree with Empress Carly's article. My objection is that when she ran the HP Empire, we were all subject to continual global warming propaganda, because it was good for the corporate image.
Stop the sexist garbage. Al Gore is the biggest problem right now.
I graphed some information that may not support her conclusion either:

Although I am fascinated by Climategate, really, I am more interested in the demise of the Vikings in Greenland. We get to chat amiably (at least in Strangeloveian terms) about politics, left and right, as if there were terribly important issues out there, whereas Norweigian folk probably froze to death. We try to manufacture similar drama for ourselves in our politics, but we all go to bed, warm and well-fed….not that there's anything wrong with that. The Vikings are a much better story than Barbara Boxer and Phil what's his name. Many thanks to the guy who posted the Viking site. One day I will go to Halvasy Church.
But it is relevant, altough not incontrovertibly game-changing (given world-wide climate variations) that the old Viking graves are still in perma-frost. I wish someone would post about the latest artifact which melting ice in Greenland has uncovered.

Why is it that a state of 35 million cannot scrounge up a conservative candidate with any established credentials? Why are we stuck with the dumbest Boxer of rocks in the Senate? Negative intellectual candlepower…when she joins a group she makes those around her dumber. Good God almighty!
As to Carly, saw/heard her speak at a large software business conference in 2002…she is not happening for me.
To quote the great Casey Stengel, "Can't nobody here play this game?"
Yes Chuck Devore is running and is an energy expert. Unfortunately for Ms Fiorina she is not. DeVore's voting record in the CA legislature is so good in defending the CA taxpayer he endorsed by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Assciation, and endorsed by the Senate Conservatives Fund. That means he's the real deal. A very big deal is the stringent vetting process by Independence Caucus. Their 80 questions on the Constitution and fiscal matters is the best job interview for a candidate bar none. Bab Basso of You Tube fame as Thomas Paine has looked at the vetting process and says its the best in the country. The only thing the GOP and the DNC know is money and name recognition. WELL, DeVore is the ONLY candidate of hundreds they have vetted for the national and local elections that has been fast-tracked to ENDORSEMENT, based on his answers to that vetting process, AND his voting record to prove it.
Don't be fooled. Words are cheap, votes, and experience ARE NOT.
gee, nice ad hominem attack. you should have mentioned she is battling breast cancer and the cancer drugs are messing with her brain or something too.
The data for the US was posted recently. I've been playing with it for a couple of days. Fact One, the trendline does show an upward move since the mid 1800's, for most cities. Fact Two: it is barely significant from a statistical view, the data almost all falls within 2 standard deviations from the mean. Fact Three: If you play within the years, say 1980 to 2008, you see a nice upward trend. If you test 1930 to 1980, you see a nice downward trend in the temps.
But here is the key thing. The differences in the means over those 170 years does not move very far.
Oh yea, another fact, not all the cities I've tested show an upward trend, even just over the last 30 years. Some show a downward trend which is about as slight as the upward trend in other locations.
Bottom line is, without Gage RR data, the differences or trends could be nothing more than a measurement error.

I will be charitable and say she is showing maturity by changing her tune on AGW once she gets new information. There seems to be a disease amongst all politicians that the worst thing you could possibly do is change your mind. Kudos to Carly for getting it right. It shows she will listen.
Ms. Fiorina I for one would like to to hear you take a stand on this issue, one way or the other. Girl in these times ypu can't have it both ways. Americans take a stand. How are you really different than Comrade Boxer?
Decisions can never be made with perfect knowledge. That is why we use principles as guidelines to good decisions. Unfortunately for us, some in Washington discarded their principles in order to win office, and they never sought replacements.
Regarding Ms. Fiorina, I know what happened to the value of my investment in HP while she was in charge, and I am not impressed.
What is the world coming to, is it falling apart or not? Would somebody please make up their mind? I mean we just love a good disaster don’t we. We do everything possible to destroy our planet and then say whoops what we gonna do now…
I have to say this article was interesting though http://ketiva.com/Environment/so_what_is_the_clim...
