Union Member Attacks, Injures Tea Party Activist at MoveOn.org-organized Rally
by Chuck DeVoreSacramento’s ABC News 10 reported on the union rally and Tea Party counter rally in Sacramento today. ABC’s online report makes cursory mention of an incident of union violence directed at Tea Party activist Rodney Stanhope: “Police cited one man for battery after he allegedly shoved a tea party supporter.”
I spoke to Stanhope, as he drove to the hospital for x-rays and treatment for the injuries sustained at the rally, and asked him what happened. Mr. Stanhope said that he was with a group of about 150 Tea Party activists across the street from the MoveOn.org-organized union rally. A union man with a bullhorn, Richard Andazola, 28, was yelling across the street at the Tea Party activists, calling them “fascists.”
Then one of the Tea Party activists, also bullhorn equipped, replied, “We pay your salary!”
This enraged Andazola, who, according to Stanhope, rushed the Tea Partiers, chanting “Fascists go home! Fascists go home!” He violently shoved Stanhope twice, the second time apparently striking Stanhope in the throat:
Somehow in the melee, Stanhope’s hand was also injured
The union thug was later cited by law enforcement:

Notice the union protester’s Teamster jacket is clearly visible. The jacket identifies Teamsters Local 439, Stockton.

Civility on both sides only works for so long, one side is able to do what they will with no consequences and while the other side plays by the rules, things are going to come to a crossroads as civility can only handle so much.

Civil court is a venue to keep Stanhope's attacker busy. A win in court also labels the man as a repeat offender his second go around.

I watched the video. He got shoved. Unforunately, your "reporting", while pleading for insight into the participants, failed to include relevant information about Stanhope that was accessed in 30 seconds and about 4 clicks.

As for a "shove," call it what you will, it was violent and hard and rocked Stanhope back more than a yard. Mr. Andazola's second strike hit Mr. Stanhope in the windpipe and could have caused serious injury. In fact, a strike to the windpipe like that could only be intentional. From what I could see, Andazola was trying to injure Mr. Stanhope.
I hope and pray we do not have the bloodshed coming this way, but if you are going to be anywhere near the activities like in the video, you start practicing your civil disobedience skills or Krav Maga or both.

Folks, I have come to a very sad reality. A normally rational independent tried to refute that taxpayers are actually paying the union dues of all public sector union employees. WE pay their salary, therefore, every single $ of public sector union dues comes from US. The media and politicians (D)'s have succeeded in pushing the misnomer that somehow "federal dollars" and "government funding" are not taxpayer monies, but, instead come from some mythical money stash. I am sad that I missed this today to support the Tea Party! I drove right through Sacramento this afternoon. This just shows what the mentality these people have! Violence is never the answer, debate is a right, protesting is a right, but violence will not solve anything! I will be watching the news from Sacramento tonight to see if this is covered! I hope Mr. Stanhope is alright. He was very brave. Very upsetting to see this. Andazola wears a jacket with Teamsters written in huge letters on it and was intent on bringing this assault about. These thugs are determined to be the 2 bit criminals they are. They will win this thing for us just by being themselves. People are getting more and more repulsed by their arrogance, aggression and entitlement attitude. Please dims, go ahead screw yourselves. Make it easy for us. The unions are going to destroy themselves, and frankly, that is probably the best thing for the country. At one time unions were necessary to prevent abuse of employees by companies that were only interested in extracting as much profit as possible out of each employee. There was a time when companies would brutalize anyone trying to create a union. But today unions have outlived their usefulness. Today only about 7% of the private sector belongs to a union where as something like 46% of public employees are in unions. Today's unions have forced companies to close up shop and send work overseas. Public employees have no need for unions in that states like Wisconsin have laws that protect and provide for it's employees. Today's unions have become evil and reminiscent of the Brown Shirts that helped get Hitler elected. I have seen people in California who are nothing more than a waste of space remain employed and enjoy pension benefits at a great cost to the tax payer while those same persons added no value to the state.
I have worked in California in both the San Francisco bay area and in Sacramento as a contracting software engineer so I have seen my share of liberals. I can testify that though there are many nice/kind liberals I have never met a one that I would call "Happy". Each and every one had far too many complaints about life in general and too many specific complaints to be considered happy. Each one seemed to be somewhat miserable and was always looking to government to solve theirs and the worlds problems. They seem to forget that government is made up of people. They replace God with Government and yet remain fully dissatisfied with their condition.
Last I checked, it was COMPLETELY LEGAL to be a provocateur in America… and it is completely illegal to assault someone.

So true. My sister used to be a die-hard liberal, and I could not, therefore did not, have a conversation with her for over 25 years where she was not focused on the negatives of all aspects of life. The only pleasant liberals I know are the ones that survive on eating berries, and believe everyone should live in a commune. At least they truly believe they are changing the world, even though those that give them their direction fly around the world on fully stocked Gulfstream 4's to deliver the message.
