Is UMSL Attempting to Intimidate Student Whistleblower?
by Capitol ConfidentialOne day last week Phil Christofanelli, the student whistleblower behind the UMKC/UMSL union video story, was sent a certified letter from UMSL.
Is the university attempting to intimidate Christofanelli?
Also, why will UMSL not release the full videos of the class lectures in question?

Wow!
Stick to your guns, Phil!
If Philip needs legal counsel, let me know the address to of his legal assistance fund. Philip I could setup a webpage with PayPal for you in less then an hour.
Unions the new Kings ? ?
Summit to the union or face the raft of unions…
Outrages…
That is exactly what this letter conveys. Unless of course the Assistant to the Vice Provost missed some writing courses while in college. I wonder how much union cash is funneled to UMSL. I wonder if the union members are aware of the money flow. I wonder if they approve of those dues being spent to advance communism.
Doesn't video just drive the left nuts?
They just can't seem to find a way to prove that what you are seeing is not what you are seeing.
Maybe the Assistant to the Provost is just trying to teach him a lesson. After all he did go to college to learn something! (sarc)
It's a form letter approved by the Democratic Instructional Proletariat Society, strictly to arrange an informal informational session where the subject walks between two parallel lines of his accused, while they hurl at him.
Please take a camera crew with you, and a hidden camera to record after they are kick out. Getting popcorn ready….
Intimidate, marginalize and isolate…
Alinskyism 101.
This will likely be filed under the "We reserve the right to refuse business to anyone" rule. Of course, after they chastise the student for bringing so much attention to their agenda, while letting him go due to some newly created campus rule. I hope he finds support from all directions on this one because he needs to keep it alive for as long as possible…..good luck.
The progressive agenda is alive, well and in full function….
And we know all about it. The Alinsky rules have been read and digested by the conservatives. The left is getting their asses handed to them. It seems they can be easily identified by the rashes they exhibit.
OK,..OK enough of this Choir practice,….
let's see if we can do something.
D' Andre Braddix (asst to the VP),…..
who is this person and who is this person "assistant" to,…??
Let's expose these people,……..
Come on Missouri folks,…."Show Me"
hire a good lawyer to be present with you…I'll donate money to help
I second that. By all means go (no need to fear beause you are in the right) but don't go alone. You can bet that Braddox won't be. In fact, perhaps a team of lawyers should accompany you? Turn the tables on them and lead the intimidation.
Echo this.
Why Hell yes, they’re attempting to intimidate this young man. The good news, the cover up can be much more damaging than the actual event. Keep up the good work unions, real America is watching and taking notes.
I would take a Video camera with a witness to the meeting.
Sue them for breach of contract, demand all monies paid thus far, demand all expenses, demand all credits that were earned. Until the leftists in these universities are show to cost the universities large sums of cash, they will continue to be employed by said universities.
The lack of specificity in this letter is intentional and meant to intimidate. It's the calling card of a self-absorbed, high level mucky muck who is pissed and embarrassed at being caught. (I used to write them for the clients I liked the least.)
Whoever this kid is, if he sets up a legal defense fund, please post the details here.
Stick to your guns kid. The Constitution and tax payers everywhere are counting on you. And tell this jerk weed that you will be recording the conversations and posting them on the Internet.
The Teachers Union and their like are having their IVORY TOWERS pushed down. They will use any method to attack anyone who would expose them for what they are.
UMSL need's to be boycotted.
For those inquiring minds;

Almost forgot. Braddix was also a member of the Student Government Association from 05-06.
I would write back accepting the invitation and informing them that my attorney would also be attending this meeting.
"A recent incident" huh? It occurs to me that as soon as daylight is shed on this letter of intimidation, there will materialize a totally unrelated "incident" that this letter is "really" regarding.
Just think P2O – a decade ago, a student would have gotten a letter like this and nobody would know about it or be able to gain the help of fellow Americans in standing up to this kind of heavy handed action. The Old Guard really doesn't know how to deal with an informed population and I am just loving it. The more they try to squeeze, the more problems they make for themselves. I wonder how long it takes before they actually come to the realization that the game as it has always been played doesn't work anymore?
LAWYER UP!
Do not go without a lawyer, you never know what they will throw at you. Trust me when I tell you that you can't trust them.
Go get 'em.
he will probably have to go thru tsa beforehand (JK I hope?)- but I am in question- does he have to go? and can he take his attorney? so many questions???? this is a big story in my opinion, the kid has a lot of courage and I love it!
Ok for that, and Now We Have "Rules for Patriots" in print…offered by Freedom Works.
Think they'll find a reason to let this student go based on these rules?
http://www.umsl.edu/bulletin/2009-2010/student-co...
Well now we have a self identified target for questions. The Vice-Provost needs to be asked what the intent of the letter is. Any of the alumni from UMSL with conservative leanings needs to contact his office and demand an explanation…………..keep the light on the roaches, they will retreat to their dark corners.
A lot longer than it took me to find out who the Vice Provost of Student Affairs was and some background on Mr. D'Andre Braddix as well as an entire org chart for the UMSL. Sheesh, they will never learn.
This is behaviour is prevalent through out the Mizzou system by the administration and the staff. I am sure that it is present in most universities. Until the parents who send their children begin to protest, this ubra liberal stuff will continue. Most parents have no idea what is really taught in the Mizzou colleges even in the most business orentated universities the graduates hardly know the difference between a spread sheet and a toilet sheet but they do know how to spread the wealth.
That's what I'm talking about…they're exposing themselves over and over
wow that was interesting thanks patriot- so why in the heck would he have to meet with this the vice provost concerning this? doesn't look like it would be his responsiblity or am I misunderstanding the chart? It seems to me he would have to go to the dean.
He needs to call thefire.org. They go after colleges who do this exact thing to students.
There was a guy who was expelled from Valdosta State for expressing his displeasure with…a parking garage. It became a major court decision in his favor. Check out thefire.org and donate, too!
echo
Assistant to the Vice Provost? Isn't that the person that gets the coffee for the Vice Provost in the morning, who, in turn, delivers it to the Assistant to the Provost?
You beat me to it GJP. I was going to say the exact same thing.
I say we call him.. Ask him, WHAT'S UP???

I would imagine they are using the lowest possible (expendable) first. If things go south, they have someone to fall on. Use a foot soldier (useful idiot) in this case and if it works all is well. If Christofanelli pushes back and the press comes asking, they can just say Braddix stepped out on his own and can further insulate the Dean by throwing Coorod under the bus. Old tactics of insulating the real culprit.
Small-time thug "Assistant to the Vice Provost for Student Affairs": braddix@usmsl.edu
His boss (hiding behind Braddix): Curt_Coonrod@umsl.edu
("haw" is just the secretary who drafted the threat, whose full name I will withhold).
But they will claim it is edited video anyway!
My favorite Liberal response to anything caught on tape is: "The Tape was Edited!"
Watch any news program, watch any documentary, watch any Dateline type investigation, listen to any radio news program, etc…ALL of it is EDITED!!!
But if THEY get caught with their pants down, they simply dismiss the evidence as "edited".
Mr. Christofanelli needs to OBEY the "Administration" and schedule this meeting. Then when the scheduled meeting is to occur, he should at the very least take his video recorder and use it. Personally, I would invite a news organization….like FOX News, to be present.
I love bureaucratic poison pen letters. They are so full of threat with no substance at all.
Take your camera and a witness with you to the meeting Phil.
…and maybe a copy of the U S Constitution.
Oh, and how about posting a copy of the school's code of conduct? And any similar code the faculty must abide by.
That was my thought the moment I read it. Martyrs are a speciality of the Libs.
I would suggest going to every lawyer you can find and getting thier business cards, and when this does come about and they threaten you in none too subtle ways, splay the cards out and ask them who they would rather be sued by one or all of them.
Since the phone number was not redacted, let us all start calling and asking the question in the headline. The area code is 314.
Look at how many of the Clinton supporters were willing to throw them selves on the tracks for them.
Morning Ash,
I think they are realizing it now. Which is why they are looking to the next "created crisis" to further their agenda. They can't do it the way they have been anymore because of the reasons you list.
This would appear to be Mr. Braddix's facebook…
http://www.facebook.com/people/DAndre-Braddix/719...
When I get unsolicited credit card offers in the mail that come with postage paid return envelopes I just tear up the application and mail it back to them. I think I would do the same with this letter even if I had to pay for the stamp. And with the torn up letter I would have a letter of my own that simply said…
"If you want to correspond further with me then please direct all mail to my attorney's offices at the specified address"
Then I may even go down to the small claims office and file a frivolous lawsuit against UMSL for harassment, just because I can, it'd certainly be worth the $50 filing fee.
i've been around that block a few times. he should have his lawyer respond, maybe to schedule the meeting at HIS office, advise them to bring their own counsel, etc., so as to disabuse them of the notion they're just yanking some poor dumb student's leash.
Time to break up all of theses stupid unions. If we take the time to look into them I would bet there is enough dirt to bring them down. They cheat at every election, so start digging there.
I'm all for slamming these University buffoons for their tactics, but things need to be tread upon carefully. The last thing this kid needs is to go into a meeting and find out the Provost's office has been inundated with emails and phone calls … some of which will probably fall under the "not-so-nice" category. And you know that those few bad apples will be the ones they parade out as "This is all we have been receiving prior to any discussions."
Should let it play out a bit before unleashing the hounds.
Heck, he should take Andrew Breitbart, a video crew, and a lawyer. Make them hurt.
Now that's what I call taking steps,……
thanks P2O,….
Curtis C. Coonrod,..we'll be at that meeting.
just called his office,…
nobody answered,….. but I left a message.
Come on everyone,.call and leave a (cordial) message.
Philip Cristofanelli:
The Inner Party directs you to report to Room 101.
Comrade O'Brien.
CITIZEN JOURNALIST ARISE,YOUR DAY HAS COME!
He should at least take a flip camera…
Outstanding, Gov.
Exactly right on the cover-up, Stan.
Exactly right.
Almost had to downthumb that, Kathleen….
but I do get the humor.
Universities are a very insular world. The administration has a lot of control over faculty, staff and students. They absolutely hate publicity outside of their control.
My advice to Phil is to schedule and go to the meeting. Attempt a clandestine audio of the meeting and transcribe it. Make them put any threats on paper.
Stick to it Phil. You're doing all of us a great service and we appreciate it.
Let me see if I have this straight – according to D'Andre Braddix, failing to meet with him will result in disciplinary action. Is that part of the Student Code of Conduct, that an administrator can summon you to a meeting and you must appear or be disciplined? If it is really Philip's prior behavior that warrants discipline, why isn't that behavior mentioned in the letter so that Philip knows how to prepare for the meeting? Does Mr. Braddix have any authority to demand a meeting with Philip? And how much do you want to bet that, should Philip call to schedule a meeting and ask what the meeting is about, he'll be told something like "You'll find that out at the meeting." The whole thing is very odd.
Once again….
projection, projection, projection……
When your narrative is based on lies and corruption, it's all you've got.
There is always a catchall.
"diverse needs" should have a star next to it with the explanation at the bottom that this does not include the needs of any student with conservative views.
Did you check out his Facebook page? I could intimidate Mr. Apostrophe- in- My-Name just by lookin' at him.
I want follow up to make sure he isnt railroaded, if he is I want him to have the ability to fight back. At his age the "man" can be quite intimidating,
I know we with our experience can help! The "man" will back off if we play too!
Oh look, the "man" has a name and address. Time to try and write like Joe Doakes!
Judical Watch may be interested in this case.
If this meeting goes south, and they try to expel or intimidate Christofanelli; he should contact FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights in Education). They do a great job of protecting free speech on campuses.
http://thefire.org/
The good thing about articles like this one,…….
is that trolls are to ashamed to comment.
Hey Husker ("the truth hurts"),……care to chime in,….????
I love FIRE. It is great to see conservatives hitting back where it hurts.
they'll make up some new rules to have their way
I just forwarded this to a bunch of people so little by little the word will get out.
I say dont respond and let them attempt the threat then sue thier asses
I would schedule alright, without mentioning it bring my attorney or two or three friends(and a recording device). He would have good reason.
The reply or else letter would make me wonder what could the university really do. In reality they can't threaten a student, of course they can do all sorts of things academically, they can boot him out. But if their intention was to expel him out they would have done so. The damage has been done, any threats now would be pointless.
Unless they are going to do it the union way.
"raft" = wrath
Outrages… = outrageous
BTW, I agree with your sentiment
http://www.columbiatribune.com/mu-salary-database...
The above is a listing of salaries of the Provost, Vice Provost, and assistants & deputies of some of the Univ. of Missouri with the accompanying salaries. Notice that most are in the 100-250,000 plus range.
Whoops, over 250,000 – TAX THE RICH!!!
He definitely needs to take a witness with him. If not, he will lose the argument, no matter what. And it should be a witness that is not affiliated with the university or the student body.
Sounds like a case for Mark Levin and his group, Landmark Legal Foundation.
Did Mr. Christofanelli contact legal counsel and send a certified letter back stating that the university would be subjected to a lawsuit seeking the firing of the Asst. Provost and anyone else in the university administration with intimate knowledge of the attempted intimidation.
I would call that office and demand to know what the meeting is about beforehand. They don't have a right to ambush him like this.
I won't post pics or URLs here at the risk of potentially slandering an innocent person. However, anyone can do a Google image search for D'Andre Braddix. It should come as no surprise that he looks the absolute picture of a bootlicking university bureaucrat. No points for guessing which way he votes either.
What's more satisfying than calling upon mob justice?
I'm sure the meeting is just to offer Mr Christofanelli some encouragement to master the apparent difficulty he's been having with the concept of veracity.
I'd frame it. Actually I'd write a note on that and place it back in the envelope in which it was sent and write return ti sender. No such person at this address.
diverse always means gay.
The letter is dated May 5th. What is the current situation?
Call Ludmilla Kropotkin quick!!!!
You missed a few words regarding the approver:
The official title is Democratic Instructional Proletariat Society for Higher Institutions of Thinking.
You'll laugh when you see it.
You know what I'm seeing most? Name address and phone number to the Assistant to the Vice Provost (what the heck IS that?) and an opportunity for at least 100 people to mail, call or email this person to voice our opinions.
Oh wait! A quick search of the University's website gave me this email address: DAndreBraddix@umsl.edu
Go get 'em. Tell him how we are all watching.
How about this: Mr Christofanelli could bring James O'Keefe along for his appointment – or, perhaps he could just send James O'Keefe to the meeting in place of him . . .
Guilty as charged.
Wonder how much money we could collect to get him into Hillsdale
