by Capitol ConfidentialA video is circulating online that imagines what modifications the infamous California Air Resources Board (CARB) would make to Santa and his traditional reindeer-drawn sleigh if they had the ability to regulate Christmas, with hilarious results:
CARB and the far-fetched ideas they frequently propose are a frequent target of scorn, but they really make it easy. When it comes to unintentional humor, CARB is the gift that keeps on giving.
Included in CARB’s re-fit of Santa’s sleigh:
• Changing the sleigh into a bobsled – much more aerodynamic.
• Ditching the gifts in the back; they’re really cutting into the sleigh’s “miles per hoofbeat.”
• Red might be Santa’s traditional color, but according to CARB darker colors attract too much heat. Pale pink is just like red…almost.
• To reduce horse- (or in this case reindeer-) power, at least four of the Dasher and Prancer crowd would find themselves unemployed come Christmas.
• Rudolph is allowed to stay on the team, but only if he swaps his glowing red nose for an energy efficient light blub.
• Santa should really skip the cookies and milk so he can shed a few pounds.
As funny as this video may be, the truth behind it is much less amusing. Some of the “Santa” regulations are already in effect, such as the mandate that cars be light-colored. What’s more, the bureaucrats at CARB have recently gone into the automobile design business, designing model cars for year 2017 and mandating a target of 60 miles per gallon. No vehicle that is widely available today even comes close. While this may be a case of good intentions gone awry, when are the folks at CARB going to figure out that they are their own worst enemy?

The best thing that could ever happen, is California would fall off into the ocean, and drag Washington and Oregon with it. Open up a whole new coastline, from Idaho, clear south to Arizona. Couldn't you just envision Nevada with Ocean Front Condo's? Just think what the industrious Mormons in Utah would do. They'd be busy as beavers, building hydro-electric power plants.

To impose onerous regulations on diesel equipment, CARB was caught overestimating the emissions by 340%.

California has sunken because of the invasion of millions, and millions of Mexican and Central American illegal aliens. The state legislator, aided by activist judges and sanctuary cities have literally destroyed the state. They refuse to cut back on their Latino social engineered programs, and thus put the state into countless billions of dollars bankruptcy. Not mentioned by the MSM, of how many illegal aliens are on the 99 week unemployment check program?
It doesn't and BOTH parties should be able to say what they like. It also doesn't hurt anyone for KMart or Walmart employees to say Merry Christmas either.
And of course the FTA (Federal Transit Authority, bet you didn't know we had one) would come in and demand Santa should be able to haul freight as well as presents and passengers which would greatly increase the weight of his sleigh. Then the sleigh can only be produced from a union run manufacturing plant in the US greatly increasing its cost. Then all towns along Santa's route will demand the Sleigh stop at each town and wait approximately 10 minutes.
BTW except for the sleigh, this is exactly what killed the high speed rail project from San Fran to LA which would have used proven, off the shelf trains and track from Japan. Passengers would have made it in about 4 hours as opposed to the 6 hour drive.

Maybe, just maybe, if we return to the one horse and buggy days, we can find something that can function on a gallon(of liquid) for every sixty miles traveled. More than likely that will be shanks mare. Now tell me again that the commuters in CA are going to go to work by horse or by walking. More than likely, not so much.
California is already churning out endemic poverty faster than they ever produced aircraft for WW-II, and if we can shutdown the highways at the border we can keep their state, once the food-basket of the West, from spreading their genocidal environmental polices to states where residents can still feed themselves. I hate to sound harsh, but John Steinbeck must be rolling over in his grave. The worthless vermin who inhabit the Sunshine State have turned the refugees of the Dust Bowl into refugees once again, and they did it solely because they were enamored with Mao (who starved tens of millions of people to death) and Stalin (who starved tens of millions of people to death).
But don't worry, California remains a part of the US, so the best solution is for most the liberal city folk there to die off, mostly through starvation and cannibalism, and then for other Americans to fill in the void, bringing a new birth of freedom. Hopefully the lesson of it, and the skulls arranged in artistic piles, will serve as a warning for the state not to repeat its socialist experiment.

To remove the word Christmas from a holiday that the worlds Christian majority is celebrating reduces the "Religious Holiday" to nothing more than a politically correct slogan. It is an insult to my religion that the very word "Christmas" is thought to somehow be offensive by left wing retards. Saying happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas just shows how intolerant the liberal pc twits are towards the Christian faith……..

It's one thing to want cars with better gas mileage, but like everything else they touch, the Left just takes a good idea too far. 60 miles per gallon? Really? Good luck with that and good luck to those of us who have to buy whatever these cars are going to cost. The dirty little secret about enviro-friendly cars? They cost more than non-enviro-friendly cars.

What's even more funny is solar panels are intentionally black color and so, in the process of collecting solar energy they are also absorbing heat INTENTIONALLY which does not reflect that heat back into space. The grand green tech is absorbing more heat INTENTIONALLY than thousands of automobiles.
Folks. Let these people drown in their rules and regulations. The land and resources will always be there but the government will not. Simply put, even if they acquire all lands in the name of protecting wildlife and implement all these programs to curb carbon, their precious government cannot afford the cost and will implode. See, the Volt supposedly gets good mileage. We need to get the automakers to be able to meet their new CARB quotas. Giving away a couple hundred thousand of those idiotic cars would balance out quite a few pickups and SUVs.
